Sophia Williams, a powerful and strong-willed Lycan, never thought she would fall for a human. Yet, she cannot deny the instant attraction she feels for Bree’s brother, Kaden. Used to getting what she wants, Sophia pursues him, determined to prove that she can be trusted.
Beaten and enslaved by Lycans, Kaden wants nothing to do with the family of Lycans his sister is marrying into. His lust for Sophia, the eldest daughter of Tristan and Avery, is undeniable. As lust turns to something deeper he begins to question everything he believes about the Lycans.
When a mutual enemy threatens to destroy their growing relationship, Kaden must put aside his distrust of Sophia’s family to save her.
Author's Note: This is Book Three of the "Red Moon" series. Book One ("Red Moon") and Book Two ("Red Moon Rising") should be read first in order to have a better understanding of both the characters and the world they live in. This book contains some violence and some hot and sweaty sex scenes, and is intended for adults only. As well, please note that this book ends on a cliffhanger (I do love a good cliffhanger!).
Elizabeth Kelly is a romance novelist who spends her days writing and pushing her cat Murray off the keyboard. She firmly believes that a person can survive solely on sushi and coffee, and only her husband's mad cooking skills prevents her from proving that theory.
She also writes contemporary and paranormal romance under her alter-ego "Ramona Gray".
2020 = 3 stars 2023 = + 1 star for good reread / review written
❤ 𝖲𝗈ρ𝗁iɑ & 𝖪ɑᑯ౿𐓣'ડ 𝖲𝗍𝗈𝗋ɣ ❤
The overarching plot involving the Williams' family continues, with a few of their POVs included. Their close-knit family is what makes this special; how they care for, protect, and help each other.
★ James & Bree in book two, remain my favorites. Bree is small and needs protecting. The "damsel in distress" trope is a favorite one.
While Sophia is a Lycan who proves that she can take care of and save herself. I still liked her character, but alpha h's are not my preference.
🛑 Spoilers Below 🛑
𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟮 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱: ✦ James & Bree are planning their wedding. ✦ Kaden plans to leave but agrees to stay for Bree's wedding, working with Ian in the barn for a wage. ✦ Draken, the Lycan villain, is expected to seek revenge. Kaden and Bree escaped his evil clutches. Then, during a fight, some of his men were killed.
Relationship Drama with a lot of Push/Pull
Kaden doesn’t trust anyone, especially Lycans. After their parents died, he and Bree struggled alone. Draken then enslaved them for two years, mistreating them terribly.
Sophia knows Kaden hates Lycans and fears getting hurt. She also realizes her human cousin, Dani, likes him and would be a better match.
Like the two books before this one, there's another female interested in the H. It's not reciprocated and no love triangle develops.
😬 Several interrupted sex scenes: 🚫 by Ian in the barn, 🚫 by James and Nicky in the barn, 🚫 by Leta in the hotel room, and 🚫 by Sophia, when she realizes they're not doing their duty while on patrol, watching for Draken. Kaden misunderstands and they both leave angry.
🔥 Halfway through, the MCs finally have sex. They agree it’s a one-time thing, but that doesn’t last long. Though Kaden insists he's leaving, it’s clear he's lying to himself as they fall in love. By 70%, they’re a solid couple.
☹️ The sex scenes aren't as good as previous books. The h is a little too aggressive for my tastes.
Trouble arises when Sophia, Kaden, Ian, and Dani go to town. Drake and his men are waiting for them. Ian is killed, and Sophia and Kaden are captured. Drake plans to take them to his home to mate with Sophia and enslave Kaden. His obsession and madness lead to poor decisions, ultimately causing his downfall. Sophia kills him in the end with her sword.
Dani hides in an alley and is helped by Andric, a Lycan. On the way to the Williams' homestead, Andric is seriously injured while killing a Gogmagog.
💞 Dani & Andric's story is next. After Dani got hurt emotionally, it's good she found someone special.
★ A favorite Scene: Ian falls through the ice while fishing, and Kaden saves him. When Kaden also falls through, Sophia rescues him and they’re pulled to safety. Afterward, he doesn’t want to let her go.
😢 Ian was an older Lycan who worked for Tristan and befriended Kaden. Following his tragic death, Kaden went to his grave to apologize.
😊 Bree finds out she's pregnant before her wedding. She and James get married, and then they announce the pregnancy to their family.
😮 The cliffhanger: A few people show up to tell Nicky about his father. While Tristan and Leta are in the barn, Tristan is shot with a blue-feathered arrow. He collapses and dies.
❓ If Avery healed the bird, why not Bella the horse?
This shifter series is addicting. It's nice to read something that's quick and to the point. But that ending..I feel attacked! Why would that be how it ends?! I mean I get it. I'm obviously going to read the next one, but still. If you like an interesting take on a shifter paranormal romance with dope world building then check this out.
I’m obsessed with these two MC together as individuals everything! This book has been my favorite this far in the series. Unlike the second book I feel like these two LI are more equals to each other. I love that Sophia is a strong female who doesn’t need a man and that Kaden for once doesn’t have to be the protector.

This series is so amazing! I am addicted to finding out what happens n the not next book. I found myself cheering and crying. The ending had me surprised and sad! Getting ready to start book 4!
Hot damn! I knew I would enjoy this book. I'm glad it did not disappoint. Yeah, definitely 5 stars. And just to note, I wanted to explain why I put the book on the my cliffhanger shelf. The book does have a HEA but something happens in the last chapter that literally had me jump off my couch, freaking my cat out. Lol. And I have no idea when the next book, Pale Moon, will be out. Damn, I hate when I have to wait, but I digress. So this book is about Sophia, Tristan and Avery's 1st child (Tristan's biological daughter, but not Avery's). She turned out to be a great character. I was a little worried at first because in the first book she was very demanding and seemed a bit spoiled. Although I loved her in the first book I was a little worried that she might act a little bratty at times. But she didn't behave that way for the most part. There were a few scenes where she acted a little hot headed, but I didn't feel they were really uncalled for. Hell I might have growled too if someone was touching my man whose was the hot sexy Kaden. Oh Kaden was a fine piece of meat too, let me tell ya. I thought his scars only emphasized his hotness. In one scene Avery was trying to heal the old scars Kaden had received during his slavery and I know this sounds a bit selfish, but I wanted them to stay there so I could lick them. Hehe. Kaden and Sophia were both alpha and I thought made their um "love" scenes most tantalizing. Overall a great read and I might go mad waiting for the next book. argh!
Oh my word... these books just get better and better! I will warn you though that this one ended on an unexpected cliffhanger!
This book follows the budding romance between Sophia and a reluctant Kaden. To keep Bree happy, Kaden decides to stay until her wedding but this means suffering the advances of Dani who has a serious crush on him. Like Bree was when she first met the Williams family, Kaden has a deep mistrust of them and they all have to tread carefully around him.... except for Leta..... She makes no bones about the fact that she doesn't like him and she wastes no time in telling him so! I must confess that Leta has fast become my favourite character of all.
Draken and his pack resurface which puts them all in danger again and his obsession with Sophia hasn't waned in the slightest. When they find themselves at his mercy again, it's a race again time to save them.
I read the first book because it was free and now I'm absolutely hooked!
Sophia and Kaden get their own story finally! In Dark Moon by Elizabeth Kelly, we get to see what happens when two opposing forces get drawn together. The characters from the previous books in the series feature brilliantly in this installment of this intense family drama. Whenever I read the stories in this series, I feel like I am a part of their lives. The action moves quickly, the love scenes are hot, and the added twist of actual crazy people keep you reading with an addictive "what happens next?" anticipation. You have to read this one!
Loved that Kaden & Sophia got their HEA and Dani found someone after kind of getting her heart broken. Something did happen that made me cry & wanting to claw out Draken's heart. The ending, really???? WTF????? You can't just have that happen and then end it, no you can not do that. Okay you did do that. If it wasn't 1:00 am I would start the next book so that I can find out what happened. There was so much that went on with this book; marriage, pregnancy, new love, kidnapping, death of the enemy, new characters and stuff that I can't tell you about.
Dark Moon was quiet an enjoyable, interesting, and awesome read. Like those before this book is a post-apocalypse meets paranormal meets some old-ways meets romance, which personally makes for a very thrilling and engrossing read. Dark Moon is a story filled with mystery, surprise, love, lust, hate, healers, werewolves, evil-fairy-things, crazy enemies, distrust, broken people on the mend, and so much more. After reading Elizabeth Kelly's fantastic Dark Moon I can't wait to read the fourth book, Alpha Moon.
The author of Red Moon and Red Moon Second Generation. I love Kelly's voice. I've read several of her books and loved them all. This being the 3rd in series I read it all in a day and was totally floored at the end and CAN'T wait for the next.
I never really get to say this but this book was even better then the 1st one! the development of the characters was fabulous and the book had the perfect amount of angst and fight and didn't become over the top and unbelievable when it came down to reluctance.. anyway you will know what I mean when you read the book ;)
And another great story from Elizabeth. I very much like Sophia and Kaden. I love how Elizabeth keeps up with all the characters and continues their stories intwined with the new comers. Please keep the books coming. We, fans, appreciate them and all your hard work!
Book 3 of this wonderful series... Each and every character becomes likable. Following Sophia and Kaden on their love hate relationship was fast, steamy and entertaining. Reading on as Kaiden became to love Sophia, you see his walls break down piece by piece...now as the cliff hanger leaves me wondering what happens next, I just have to read book 4...NOW! I would recommend this series to anyone.
Sophia's story was one I couldn't wait to read seeing as it is because of her this family was brought together because of her. And as time moved on her spirit, love for others, and determination was not watered down. It would only be acceptable to pair her with someone just as strong in their convictions. Sophia's journey to love and happiness with her "one" was definitely not a disappointment.
Sophia and Kaden may be my favorite fictional couple of all time. Loved their story from start to finish, it's as close to perfect as anything can be. I could read it over and over again (and most likely will)
Loved the back and forth these two Characters had through out the whole book! Made for a really amazing love connection when they finally came together! Loved it!
