The Ghosts of Rose Radcliffe #3

The Haunting of Lotham Lodge

Rate this book
Some houses don't want to be investigated. Lotham Lodge is one of them.

After surviving the horrors of Marlstone Hall, Rebecca and Jonathan Pearson are forever changed – but not deterred. Still chasing evidence of the paranormal, Jonathan jumps at the chance to explore the eerie and isolated Lotham Lodge in West Sussex.

But from the moment he arrives, nothing feels right.

The only resident is a man teetering on the edge of madness – and yet, someone is keeping him there. The air hums with whispers that no-one wants to explain. And the locals? They avoid the lodge like it’s cursed, speaking only in hushed tones about a shadow that moves through the walls.

As Jonathan digs deeper, he’s confronted with terrifying visions, unsettling truths, and a force that refuses to stay hidden. The investigation becomes more than professional – it’s personal now. Something in the house knows him… and it’s been waiting.

The Haunting of Lotham Lodge is the third instalment in the gripping Ghosts of Rose Radcliffe series – where each book uncovers a new haunting, and no investigator leaves unchanged. Perfect for fans of eerie English settings, chilling secrets, and slow-burning supernatural suspense.

Amy Cross just keeps the great stories coming! I’m not an “addictive” type of person but I am certainly addicted tot all of the Amy Cross series I’ve read. She always seems to have the next additions to the series right when I finish the previous one!
The stories completely transform you into being “right there” in the house, in the forest, feeling the rain, etc.
Keep up the amazing work, Amy…I am very grateful!!

The Haunting of Lotham Lodge delivers everything a good ghost story should—creeping dread, a rich and unsettling setting, and characters you can root for as they face the unknown. The lodge itself feels alive, with every creak and shadow adding to the tension. The pacing keeps you hooked, slowly peeling back layers of its dark past while keeping you guessing about what’s real and what’s imagined. A gripping, spine-tingling read that will leave you looking over your shoulder long after you’ve finished.

Unfortunately, this volume lacks subtlety. The haunting was too direct, the solution somewhat pat. At least, Rose Radcliff, for whom the series is named) is starting to play a bigger role.

I expect the series to improve; my impression is that the author was in too much of a hurry to transition into this part of the overall story arc.

(I give a rating of 3 when the story is readable, not a waste of time, but no more.)

Oh WOW

A haunting adventure. Johnathan and Rebecca are in for an eye opener. Rose, bless her heart finds out her supernatural ability. And, Alicia, in her own way is very observant. This was an exciting read.
