Sacred Scrolls: Introduction to Vedic Knowledge System

Rate this book
The Vedas are primordial hymns etched upon the fabric of existence, beckon us. Their roots plunge deep into the cosmic loam, nourished by the sap of timeless wisdom. As we step into this luminous expanse, let us unfurl the scrolls of antiquity, revealing the structure of knowledge that spans epochs and galaxies.

Beyond parchment and ink, the Vedas flow as an unbroken river. From Guru to Shishya, across millennia, they traverse oral realms. The Rishis, those seers who drank from the celestial chalice, entrusted their visions to the winds. And so, the Vedas remain—resonant, eternal.

As we embark, dear readers, let us honor the lineage “the Parampara” that carries these sacred verses. Let us listen to the rustle of ancient leaves, for they bear witness to the cosmic symphony.

I was looking for a book where I can find a summarized version Vedic knowledge corpus, and this book was perfect. I give it a solid four as in many places I found different spellings for same word such as sukta, Rishi names..and even change of Rishis while mentioning the same topic. It got confusing.

the description of vedas could have been diagrammatic and summarized in points. I felt that it was copy paste from various available sources at different times..and made into book. Nevertheless it has served it puropose like a big index.

This is a great introductory book to the Vedas and the ancient Indian/Hindu/Vedic knowledge systems. The author has provided a good overview and classifications of the four Vedas and their structure (Aranyakas, Upanishads, etc.) along with the Vedangas, Upavedas, Puranas, Itihaas so that even a reader without any prior knowledge of this subject can easily understand the basics of it. This is a useful book even for someone well versed in this subject because all of the fundamentals and foundational information is gathered here together in a neat, compact form. This is a handy book written in a clear, simple, straightforward style that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in this subject!
