Abbie L. Martin is a South Australian author who lives with her family in a small town very similar to Lilly Pilly Creek. She has been dreaming of writing and publishing since she was a child, and when she reached her forties, finally decided to take the leap. Whilst also running a business with her husband, and juggling life with three children, Abbie loves nothing better than peace and quiet with a good book and a glass of wine, preferably an Adelaide Hills sparkling.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the 4th in the series. I thought It must be something to do with the fact that Adelaide is currently in drought, and fire warnings keep popping up on my phone. I thought the author conveyed very well the breathless anticipation of bushfires, as well as the worry we feel when the cause is arson. I have rated the book a little more highly, so impressed was I by the way the story was put together.
If you are looking for an easy to digest series of cozy crime fiction then you could try this but, as always read them in order
I’ve so enjoyed this series., reading all four in three days. I love the concept of the Memory Bank, something I have grappled with myself, without coming up with the notion of an old bank building. I have avoided ghost crime fiction but these got under my defences, largely because of the local (for me) setting. The community is vividly evoked. I know these people and want to be further drawn into their lives.
Such a great follow up to the last one in the series! The scenes depicted were so real, I could almost smell the smoke and feel the warmth of the flames🔥I love the characters and their background stories, that get even more refined with every chapter. I can’t wait to read more of this series. #mustread
4.5 ⭐ rounded up. Another great instalment of the series. I was kept guessing who the arsonist was til the very end, and the stakes seemed higher in this one. Watching the relationships between characters continue to evolve is still such an enjoyment. Still some errors throughout the book, however a good effort for an independently published series. I hope to see more soon!
Another fantastic adventure in Lilly Pilly Creek. I have loved following Jones and Autumn as they solve the mysteries and uncover the truth. Can’t wait to see what happens next in Lilly Pilly Creek. What a beautiful little town and amazing characters.
