Violindy: A Hilarious and Cozy Heist Novel

Rate this book
Carrie is just an introverted millennial violin player minding her own business when she's arrested for crimes she didn't commit. Thrown into the world of thievery and mistaken for a dangerous crime boss, Carrie has to adapt to her new surroundings while she manages her clinical anxiety. Her only allies are a young boy with the mouth of a sailor, a giant man who barely speaks, and a former coworker with unexpected hobbies. Can Carrie lead this ragtag crew on a heist of epic proportions? Or will her panic attacks and social faux pas send her to prison?
Violindy is a daring, funny, and unexpected caper about adapting and making new friends, even in the most stressful circumstances.

Full disclosure...this is not a genre I usually lean towards.

That being said, I loved this book.

It didn't give you a ton of exposition before the actual story started, so you were able to become invested in the plot fairly quickly. The characters' voices were incredibly believable. It was especially nice having a main character with a mental illness that didn't come off as tragic or depressing, but quirky and fun.

Cute nods to Indianapolis, which is nice if you live locally but not hitting you over the head with it if you aren't local. It was a funny, quick read that I would read again.

What a fun read from the very first page to the last! Every page had me guessing what was coming next. I loved getting to know Carrie and all of her friends along the way through their adventures. Nothing could have prepared me for how the story took its twists and turns leading up to the ending. Can’t wait for the next books in the series!

What a privilege to get an early release on this gem of a book! It’s a fun, silly read with enjoyable characters trying to figure out some unexpected circumstances. Carrie finds out you can make a family out of a mishmash of acquaintances even with challenging communication styles.
I can’t wait to read the next installment of adventures with these characters!

It’s a fun read. Shenanigans, a heist, and a funny protagonist make for a quick, lively read. There’s a bit of mystery and a lot of comedy. I enjoyed!

I highly recommend this book! This is the first fictional publication for Ashleyne Seitz but I expect her to be a super popular author very quickly. This book is truly fantastic! A young lady with anxiety experiences crazy circumstances but makes the best of the situation with her charm, wit and her new “family”. Looking forward to the next one, Ashleyne!

My book club & I read this for our most recent meeting and spent the entire time RAVING over every detail of Violindy! There was fantastic character development, dialogue, and setting descriptors that allowed us to be open and invested as we embraced the chaos with every twist and turn. Violindy truly lives up to its name - it is a wonderful heist novel with equal parts hilarious and cozy. Would absolutely recommend to any/all audiences seeking a fun page-turner!

The perfect combination of suspense, fun, thrill, and comedic relief! A series of unfortunate events that still felt right for the life of Carrie. Capturers turned friends made for a cute and goofy read, despite the trouble involved.

Violindy is a rare book that everyone will enjoy, no matter how old, male or female, etc. I actually laughed out loud a few times and also caught both my husband and son laughing out loud! It's a funny heist caper, easy to read, thoroughly enjoyable! I can't wait for the next ones in this series.

Incredible and well thought out characters. This book left me wanting more from Carrie and her new crew! Ashleyne has a way of describing these quirky characters and the chaos surrounding them. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during the madness (or even a member of the group).

Read this. It’s fun and different. It’s fast-paced yet detailed. The groundwork has been laid for a second book. That’s a good thing.
