Lunchtime Chronicles: Peach Cobbler

Rate this book
August “Trip” Gentry

Peaches Monroe became the woman I hated most overnight, but when she stepped out of her pink Lamborghini clad in a head-to-toe pink ensemble – mini skirt, long sleeve tee, a belt that proudly declared Texas as her new home, and a cowgirl hat perched atop a mane of jet black hair that reached past her peach, looking like a misplaced Barbie doll, I immediately start to falter. The glint of steel in her dark brown eyes hinted at a strength that went beyond the runway, and intrigue sparked fire in my gut. Peaches, a walking contradiction and annoyance in my peaceful world of beige and green, had become an unwelcome itch in my brain, but I found myself wanting more. I couldn't explain it, but this so-called city girl I was so determined to hate flipped my world upside down. Still, despite all that, her new roommate's goal was to send her crying back to the big city. It's time to show Peaches who runs shit around here.

Another short and spicy Lunchtime Chronicles romance

I love Rose Marie’s writing style. Trip and Peaches are both trying to find their ways after a significant loss. Together they learn to be each other’s family. Though we meet the Gentry men, the romance between Trip and Peaches is straight spice.

I'm going to be completely honest. When I started reading this book, I did not like Peaches one bit. She sounded so spoiled and entitled. And all that pink was giving me that "I'm a Barbie girl" song vibe. So, I had to put this book down and clear my head of any and all judgemental vibes. Once I did that and restarted this book from the beginning, I truly began to enjoy this story.

August was hellbent on honoring the woman he knew as his Memaw. No way was anyone going to claim what was his. But he hasn't been prepared for Peaches. Peaches just wanted to come to the one place that felt like home. But these two got off on the wrong boots right from the start. But Memaw had other ideas for these two.

Reading the funny, silly, and sexy banter and the naughty, steamy sex scenes between Peaches and August had me laughing and smiling constantly throughout this book. It was so much fun witnessing this couples journey to their HEA. And omg, I LOVE Granny June!! All I'm going to say is ROCKS. If you know, you know. She had me hollering!!

If you haven't read this book, may I suggest that you add it to your TBR list and give it a shot. It was truly a fun read. I'm glad I took the time and left my judgment outside because I would have missed out on a gem of a story.

Good Read!

I enjoyed the storyline and the main two characters, but some questions were left unanswered. I wanted to know what happened with the Zoe situation and what happened with her cousin at the end.

August finds his Peach

What a sweet story. Beauty queen Peaches Monroe inherits half of her grandmother's farm to be shared with cowboy August "Trip' Gentry. Because August wasn't aware his Memaw had any famiy, he has preconceived notions about who Peaches was, and her motives about what she was planning to do with her grandmother's land and property.

This is a story about how judging a book by it's cover can be prove to be the book you want to not just read, but to keep. Peaches being her normal charming self was able to break down all August's walls and misconceptions pretty quickly. Even when August tried to keep up his a-hole attitude, she had already penetrated his barriers to the point she became his obsession.

As much fun as it was to read about these two finding common ground, I appreciated that the author kept the story real by dealing with outside instigators and some realities that needed to be addressed. Them having to go through some things made me appreciate where they arrived at the end of the story.

This is definitely a must read. A perfect fit in the Lunchtime Chronicles series.

Cute and spicy

This was a charming and romantic short story with some steamy scenes. This novella explored the theme of finding love in unexpected ways—by letting go and falling without any intense intentions. Sometimes, others can see your potential for love even when you can’t. This is why I love reading romance and love stories; they provide a safe space to fall in love and throw caution to the wind. It's about experiencing love without the harsh realities that might complicate it. Don’t get me wrong—I believe in love. But in books, there are no husbands forgetting to pick up their socks!
Lol!

Anyway, I would love to read a story about Peach's cousin finding love during her unexpected trip to Texas while she takes a break from her broken heart.

Makes me wants some peach cobbler too

As always I love reading Ms Rose books because the spiciness never gets old and keeps you coming back for more. August and Peaches are amazing and I do love an enemies to lovers grumpy and sunshine romance. But the spice on this one is so heavy that I had to take a break from it . Lord have mercy this book. It was good to see the some of the characters that are from her other book and I hope to see more of the family and more of the story . I was not ready for it to end but knowing Ms Rose she has a way of bringing you back in with another one of her books. Best done and I love it !!!!!

Yummy Cobbler...

This was a quick and good read.
Peaches was so cute, I like how she came to Texas, and it just became home so natural .
August was a good guy despite the Zoe shenanigans, both found their way together as her grandmother wanted.
I loved the family connections, something everyone wants
It's interesting how she brought how she brought the characters from Faythe in love and delivered bad news 😒
Can't wait to get back to that book as well.
But this was a steamy little read!
Great job, Rose

5⭐️

This was very cuteeeee. I really appreciate how Rose Marie always takes the time to paint the scene before hand, so you don’t feel like they’re gaps in the story. The connection between the two was uncharacteristically very funny because there’s no way Peaches just sat on a strangers lap, that made me giggle.

Even though this was a short story it didn’t feel like it, definitely worth the hype and I’m always happy to read a cheeky little lunchtime chronicle.

Full circle

I love a good small town romance. August and Peaches started off on the wrong foot due to lack of communication. Anger for him and sadness and regret for her.
It was a fun read with some head scratching moments. I am curious about his cousins since Austin's truth bomb to Peaches. Hope to read their story from this author soon.

Having a mystery woman turn up to claim half of the ranch that has been left to you was a blow for August. But when Peaches and August lock horns who is going to walk away?
Liked the story but didn't like the prose or language that made August sound backwards and immature to me. Peaches also didn't behave like a strong city girl.

Quite a Surprise Read

I enjoy a good well-written story that is a fairly well-reasoned, erotic, and imaginative. This one happens to involve a couple who find love and overcome misunderstandings, and also happen to be an interracial couple. You don't always have control over who you fall for! Enjoy!

That Peach Cobbler had Trip turnt!

Assumptions breed discord before the h and H even meet. That doesn't stop the passionate reaction they have to one another. With witty dialogue from fam all around, this made a 🔥 and funny read. This author knows how to create some mindbending sexy scenes and doesn't disappoint.

LTC is one of my favorite series and I’ve loved every single book Rose Marie contributed to it. This one is no exception! The chemistry between the two was explosive and I loved every second🥵 & The heat was at full blast 😆 It was a quick, fun read! I also loved the cameo from one of my favorite characters in another book by Rose. 😌10/10 highly recommend.

A rose marie classic

Loved this story. The way August and Peaches have their back and forth arguments and him just falling for Peaches made this an enjoyable read from start to finish. Oh, and the sex scenes are nasty, just the way I like 'em!

When I tell you this book was fire🔥. I didn't want it to end. August was not to be played with. That alpha, sexy cowboy. I want one. Peaches was a trip. Love her. That low down heifer Zoe. I wanted to punch her in her throat. Another great book.

Piping Hot Peach Cobbler

Peaches taught Trip a good lesson. You can't judge a book by its cover. Once he opened his mind and heart, he couldn't resist her peach. Their story was as hot and sweet as Memaw's Peach Cobbler.

Too many plot holes

This story had potential but fell short. The attempt at a southern dialect was comical. I had a difficult time finishing the book. The segue from enemies to lovers had no flow. There were too many plot holes. Mediocre story.

DNF

Stopped around the halfway point, the way Tripp talked to peaches was way too disrespectful, especially after them having sex for the first time. Nothing about them as a future couple was enough to continue on.

Grammar

I liked the characters and the story. It was a cute enemies to lovers story. But OMG all the grammatical errors made it kind of hard to read. This book needed some much better proofreading and editing.

I love me some good girly girls heroine!

This was different and I loved it!! I love heroine like Peaches, unapologetically beautiful, sassy and fashionably pink obsessed! August was a goner from the start.

Save a horse ride a cowboy

I enjoy every single thing about this book. It was so entertaining watching Trip systematically fall for Peaches. He clapped them cheeks once and was hooked like a fish on a fishing hook.

Unlikable leads

Sigh…Disappinting.
Peaches and August were blah. They were immature and played way too many games. It felt forced and disjointed. DNF.
