“In this world of pirates and storms, I think I may drown in this moment “

Another enchanting elements to the story. Amunet, forced to look into their own reflection and access who they truly are. Not literally. But that internal conflict and battle with breaking old habits to embrace the change. Amunet is the embodiment of facing the change and taking a chance on yourself.

Second favorite quote: “Silently, I turn away, heading to my post, but the yearning in my chest lingers, unresolved and ever-present. “

I’m a sucker for reimagining. Although, I feel as if this story pulls in minor inspirations of the Little mermaid. Yet, the story stands on its own.

The story is an uncomfortable conversation we need to have with ourselves. In the best way, facing that shadow work. Do we give into our own desires? Or continue to be selfish?

Take a chance on this story! Also, I HAVE to tell you. Kiki is OF COURSE, my favorite character out of them all!
