This is a fun story. That being said, it's also a bit of a ridiculous story in terms of set-up. It's funny, it's amusing, it's not at all serious. It starts off in a REALLY serious tone that quickly devolves into heaps of silliness. As a big fan of Stitch, I enjoyed it. The drawings are fun and I'm enjoying Stitch's latest adventure.
However, I do have to say that the OOC moment for me (involving water) jolted me out of it big time. Stitch hates water....he hates it. It isn't something he acquired from landing on Earth in Hawaii. His body density and inability to float or swim makes him naturally aquaphobic. This phobia is something he DID work on in the television series, but this is an alternate history. In this story, Stitch never landed in Hawaii and therefore never faced his fear. So he really shouldn't like water at all, even just to try to get fish or stand in a stream. He gets angry when Lilo sprays him with water in the original movie because he hates water. He hates the idea of being on an island surrounded by water. This could just be me griping, but it's such a big issue in the original film that is shown in several ways with Jumba specifically discussing the reasons for it.
Apart from that, this is a really funny story and I am excited to read the next volume. I really like the concept of Stitch being in feudal Japan.
