This book was very good. It was hard to read knowing that Jock isn't here anymore. l like him a lot more from reading this book. Highly recommended you read it if you are a fan of MasterChef Australia. Sadly missed.
Sad to read considering the sad ending of life for Jock. There was so much more to him than you would ever know watching him on the TV. His addictions were strong and to maintain a different facade to the world would be draining. How he can remember so well his nights out and his drug and alcohol use are beyond me. And at the time for him to get up every day and pursue his cooking dreams is just unbelievable. A very good read.
A lovely memoir of one of my favourite chefs, now bittersweet due to his passing in 2023. He had an interesting life, and made some questionable choices, but overcame them all to become an embassador for indigenous culture through food and Australian ingredients, judge on Masterchef Australia, and family man. Fascinating and highly missed.
