The second book in Kaos Emslie's Perfect Nightmare Series is just as engrossing as the first, with a story that kept me hooked from beginning to end. Once I began reading, I couldn't set this book aside. There is blood and gore throughout this book. The story is definitely unsettling and unnerving. The story follows a young nonbinary adult named Nightmare Carroll and their two ghostly best friends Psychosis and Snuff. Nightmare finds themselves intertwined with a malevolent entity in their house, only known as Creature. After an attack Nightmare, agrees to let Creature live inside them and feed them human souls. After Nightmare finds their girlfriend unalived they get thrown into a mystery of masked men, the occult, and ritual sacrifice. Make sure to check your trigger warnings.
Horror is my favorite next to dark romance. Anything dark, let me devour it. The twists and Suspense through the book had me hooked. I loved watching the lines connect and spider web out. I was a bug caught by the spider that is Kaos' mind. Thank you so much for letting me ARC read. I cannot wait to read more from you.
Another Amazing story by Kaos, an intense well paced story with fully developed characters with a good mix of supernatural/ psychological horror sprinked with the gore I've come to expect from their writing. Fortunately this time the ebook wasn't edgy enough to give me a paper cut.
