The moment he realizes he’s in love with someone else, he immediately calls off the wedding, unwilling to hurt the woman in front of him more than he already has, but knowing he needs to do the right thing.

In the ultimate friends-to-lovers story, with themes of hidden feelings, love, and tempting fate, will Nash and Taylor realize that sometimes, the best love stories are the ones you least expect? Or will they continue to ignore the everlasting love between them?
Too Late Magnolia Ranch Cowboys is book two in a planned three-book series. 1-Click today to continue reading about the characters you already love!
Rebecca lives in Australia's capital surrounded by bushland and kangaroos.
When she's not writing about small town romance or sexy athletes she's watching football with her husband, snuggling up with their dog or indulging in some very yummy chocolates.
Too Late Cowboy is book two of the Magnolia Ranch Cowboys Series.
Nash and Taylor seem to have a habit of realizing things at the most inopportune moments. They both feel one way but insist on keeping their word and promises. Once one makes a decision, the other has a way of impacting that decision. These two just really needed to work on getting their timing right for their future to be more solid.
I liked how Nash was always insistent that he would be a part of Taylor's life no matter what happened. They had a child together which connects them, but he wanted her to know he would always be there as a friend when needed. I really liked how he approached all of the situations with a very respectful manner. He was a really great representation of a cinnamon roll.
This was a great installment to the series and I can't wait to read the next one.
This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Nash and Taylor’s story. Nash and Taylor are best friends, and co-parent their son Cooper, but both thinks they are in love with other people. Nash calls off his wedding knowing that the women he is going to marry, is not his HEA, while Taylor’s boyfriends is getting ready to propose. The sparks fly between these two, but will Taylor realise who she loves? This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, friends / lovers, loyalty, engaging and realistic characters, tempting fate, humor, witty banter, loyalty, determination, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and heartwarming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Why did this book have to end! Holy Nash!! You unexpected little devil you. We first met Nash in Jake and Kellie's story, and I knew he was going to be one that would be the one that steals hearts. Nash and Taylor are just two people you couldn't help but root for the minute you met the two of them. I absolutely have fallen in love with Magnolia Ranch and can't wait for Sawyer!
At the last minute Nash called off his wedding and his ex took off on the honeymoon. His heart belongs elsewhere only Taylor has given hers to another man. He's her baby daddy and good friend but now he wants it all. This group of family and friends are loyal to the core and there for each other. I've really enjoyed their banter and love for each other. Taylors relationship is prickly, we can see they are wrong for each other. The monster in law will be the catalyst.
I loved watching this story play out and can't wait for Sawyer's story.
This was the story of Taylor and Nash. They are forever connected through their son Cooper. And no matter how hard they try to convince themselves they are nothing more than friends, love will not be forced. It's a hard road but with true love they find each other anyway!
I loved Nash so much! He really was the sweetest and best daddy in the world. He loves with his whole heart.
It was great to return to Magnolia Ranch. The side characters in this series are so great, you are really going to love everyone. I loved the billionaire series by Rebecca Barber but this serie is even better! I can’t wait for Sawyer’s story!
Too Late Cowboy is the ultimate second chance story. I laughed and I cried both happy & sad tears. Nash & Taylor as co-parents & best friends just never seemed to get their timing right. Not just the romance kept me reading this book. I loved the way Rebecca Barber handled the delicate issue of body image and how people see others differently. I can't wait to read the next book.
Found this to be an enjoyable read. I liked Nash and Taylor, who share a son together. When he calls off his wedding because he is in love with Taylor, a reunion between them won’t be simple as she is with someone else.
There are too many what-ifs in this story that keep everyone running around all over the place. So many are worried about what others think and not pay close enough attention to what's right for them. Until it's almost too late.
4 Star Review Too Late Cowboy (Magnolia Ranch #2) by Rebecca Barber
This was a well written story with characters you cannot help but become invested in. This is Nash Pearson and Taylor Asher’s story.
Calling off his wedding after realising he is in love with Taylor is the honourable thing to do. However it isn’t straightforward as it appears that Taylor’s longtime boyfriend Brad is about to propose to her.
However, Nash is determined to win over Taylor. He knows that they belong together, now he just has to convince her.
Cooper is just as convinced and it was entertaining to watch as he encourages them to make a future together.
Nash and Taylor are connected by co-parenting their child. They have another connection that circumstances won't allow recognition of. With sass and sparks everywhere, this is a fun story.
This is book #2 in the Magnolia Ranch Cowboys series. Swoon worthy!! Taylor and Nash share a son. Both of them are stubborn as that bull!!! Will they realize that they want each other and stop being afraid of the what ifs.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
CAWPILE: 8.71 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
The second book in the Magnolia Ranch Series doesn’t disappoint. Nash and Taylor share a child and coparent very well, they’re the best of friends. They are involved in other relationships but the truth is they love each other and belong together. Both wanting to keep their word and promises to their current partners they try and work past their feelings for each other. They just can’t get their timing to work out. Their love story is one of missed chances and so much love. Nash is absolutely respectful of Taylor and her decisions. He keeps his word and never pressures her to make himself happy. This is such a cute love story that proves you should always follow your heart. Can’t wait for the next book.
Nash and Taylor have a son Cooper that they coparent together exceptionally well. Nash is due to get married, and Taylor is happy in her relationship. Until Nash cancels the wedding and realises there’s only one woman he’s really loved. Taylor ends up getting engaged and suddenly her fiancé starts to act differently. Nash knows he loves Taylor, but he can’t do a thing she’s in a happy relationship. Nash doesn’t think Taylor ever felt the same about him, it was all about the son they shared. Everyone can see what Nash and Taylor can’t, can they get on the same page to have the happily ever after they both deserve.
Too Late Cowboy is book 2 of 3 in the Magnolia Ranch Cowboys Series and is a second chance, friends (co-parents) to lovers, small town cowboy romance that will have you crying from laughter and heartache.
Nash (MMC) and Taylor (FMC) have a great friendship, the best and so much so they have a son together, Cooper. Their friendship and respect for each is what makes the co-parenting work so well. They both find themselves engaged to others but is it the right person they should be marrying.
Rebecca captures these characters and the emotion in their story, brilliantly. Bring in book 3 to wrap up the series!
The Second Instalment in the Magnolia Ranch Cowboys series, "Too Late Cowboy" by Rebecca Barber is a captivating contemporary romance that takes readers on an emotional journey through love and second chances.
The story Revolves around Taylor and Nash, who are best friends, who now find themselves co-parenting a gorgeous little boy called Cooper. Their relationship is complex, leading them into a series of heartfelt and heart-wrenching moments.
Nash realises at the 11th hour, that Taylor is the one for him, no one else will do, and he calls off his wedding, only to find that Taylor is now engaged. Nash resigns himself to that fact that while he will always be the father of Taylors child, he will never have the love of his life. I did feel sorry for Nash, but these two had a bad habit of realising things too late. I loved how close they were, despite not being together and how attentive Nash was to both Cooper and Taylor.
Rebecca's writing style is engaging and evocative, drawing readers into the world of the characters with vivid descriptions and relatable emotions. The characters are well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and backstories that add depth to the narrative. I also enjoyed the closeness in the friend group and the 'found family' they had. Every single one of them were there for each other no matter what.
My heart really went out to Taylor. She was trying to make the best of the life she was living, trying to get excited for her wedding. Things are tense however, because of the closeness she has with Nash. You can tell pretty early on, that her heart is elsewhere and the relationship she is in, is not the right one for her.
One of the standout aspects of the book is the way the author handles the themes of forgiveness and second chances. The journey of both Nash and Taylor is a testament to the power of love and the importance of letting go of the past to embrace a brighter future.
The pacing of the story is well-balanced, with a mix of tender and dramatic moments that keep readers hooked from beginning to end. I found the dialogue natural and authentic, and this added to the overall realism of the characters and their interactions.
Overall, "Too Late Cowboy" is a beautifully written contemporary romance that will resonate with readers who enjoy stories about love, resilience, and the power of second chances. Rebecca Barber has crafted a memorable tale that is sure to leave a lasting impression. I am looking forward to Sawyers story!
This was a really cute story and I enjoyed every page from start to finish and loved it just as much if not more than "Come Home Cowboy" I also loved that it's not super spicy and kind of leans more towards a sweet romance rather than a steamy one.
Too Late Cowboy is a roller coaster of emotions. You will be frustrated with both Taylor and Nash that they can't see, or are too stubborn to admit that they are in love and instead try to push each other away several times and the ending of chapter 20 will make you cry. But it is a great 5 star read.
The part towards the beginning of the book where Taylor talks about being jealous of her best friend Kellie getting engaged to Jake while she (Taylor) and Nash were just friends but deep down she wanted to more than friends with him while those feelings weren't reciprocated by Nash was totally relatable.
I loved Nash and one of my favorite qualities about him was how he made Taylor feel more secure about her body and loves her just the way she is
One of my favorite scenes from "Too Late Cowboy" was the one with Nash and Taylor in the bar during Taylor's bachelorette party and my absolute favorite part is when they finally stopped being so stubborn and realized how they truly felt about each other before it was too late.
These were a few of my favorite lines/quotes from Too Late Cowboy;
"After completely scrambling my senses, Nash pinned me with one final look before turning and walking away, leaving me staring at his denim-clad a$$ wondering how the h3ll I was ever going to survive this." {Chapter 19, pages 175-176}
"When I spun around to face him, my heart skipped a beat. He was leaning against the door frame, looking like all my cowboy fantasies come to life." {Chapter 29, Page 271}
"He was everything I ever wanted. He was sweet and caring. He dried my tears and held me. But all it took was a crook of his finger or a simple growled command, and I was coming undone before he’d even touched me." {Chapter 29, Page 274}
I have loved both books of Rebecca's Magnolia Ranch Cowboys series so far and can't wait to read the third and sadly final, book of the series. 🙂
*I received an ARC from DS Book Promotions and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What can I say about TOO LATE COWBOY from Author Rebecca Barber that will convince you of the need to read Nash and Taylor's book? Love and Friendship ✔️ Chemistry✔️ Parental Love✔️ Unrequited Longing✔️ and best of all, going out on a limb to prove that this person really does belong with you ✔️✔️✔️
It's the second book in Ms Barber's Magnolia Ranch Cowboys series and even knowing (or hoping) that the end holds an HEA, I was a huge ball of tension from the moment I started reading Nash and Taylor's book. Yep, in this one, fretfulness was an emotion I became familiar with.
The friendship between them was beautifully written, but my frustration levels were ramped on high throughout only because I find the Friends-to-Lovers trope is frustrating. I have zero chill. No patience whatsoever. It's not “the will-they-won't-they to-and-fro-ing” that winds me up, I know it's going to happen, I do. I just want them to get over themselves already and get on with it!
That being said, Ms Barber will always deliver on the feels. Every emotion was wrought out as I read their book. Their parental connection was unconditional, the chemistry between them was on point and the unrequited love that crossed the bounds of friendship broke my heart for them 😭😭 Both Nash and Taylor were honest characters full of love and integrity, and with young Cooper being the centre of their individual universes, they co-parented wonderfully.
And yeah, of course I cried, because that is what Author Rebecca Barber makes me do and I was left an emotional wreck as crying is wont to do.
Friends-to-Lovers is the most frustrating trope that I could ever read, but, teeth grinding, I powered my way through TOO LATE COWBOY and loved every moment of it. I'll even thank Ms Barber for the privilege of reading it!!! 5-teeth-grinding-romance Stars✨️ 🤠💙🐎
I was lucky enough to be given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.
Welcome back to Magnolia Ranch. In this book were focusing on Nash who we met in Book 1, as he works with Jake.
Nash's wedding day has arrived but things don't go to plan as he realizes he's not marrying the right woman. His right woman is Taylor, the woman who happens to be the mother of his son Cooper.
Taylor, Kellie's friend is happy. She's loving being a mum to her son, she has a good relationship with Coopers Dad, Nash and her boyfriend, Brad is about to propose. Could life get any better???
Complications arise when she finds out her first love didn't get married. It makes her look at her relationship with Brad, and starts re-evaluating her relationship with Nash.
These two are awesome characters. You cant help but fall in love with them. You also cant help but fall in love with their love for each other and you love to root for them to get together.
Nash and Taylor are my two new favorite characters, and Nash is my new book boyfriend. Cooper is adorable as well. Loved seeing the gang back with Jake, Kellie, Cassie and Sawyer too. Being back at Magnolia Ranch was so good and cant wait for Sawyers book.
If you love * second chance * friends to lovers * HEAs *Cowboys
Nash and Taylor are best friends and they are co parenting a young boy. What they know but won’t admit to even themselves is that they are in love with each other even though they are with other people. When Nash stops his wedding to his fiancee at the alter the same night that Taylor accepts an odd marriage proposal from her boyfriend, it feels like they have once again missed their shot.
This book was a total slow burn combined with a lot of frustration. You really want to strangle Taylor’s fiancee for being such a jerk and Taylor for putting up with it. You also want to shake Nash for not being man enough to tell Taylor how he really feels before it’s too late. The story keeps you turning the pages if nothing else but to try to figure out how two of the most stubborn people in the world will finally get their lives straightened out. I loved the friend group in this book. I haven’t read book 1 but I am definitely going to go back and read it and I am looking forward to seeing with happens in the next book because the side characters were just as interesting as Nash and Taylor’s emotional rollercoaster.
Nash and Taylor are forever linked through their surprise baby, Cooper, who is now four years old. Taylor is now dating Brad while Nash is getting married to Bailey. However, on his wedding day, Nash realises his error —that Taylor is the one for him. Unfortunately, he is too late as Taylor is now engaged to Brad.
Most of the book revolves around Nash and Taylor navigating through their complicated feelings. Despite some red flags from Brad though, Taylor perseveres through their engagement. I wished that there was airtime for Nash and Taylor’s romance but instead the engagement to Brad remained for most of the book.
On the other hand, Nash is a great father to Cooper. It was fun seeing all the kids and the cowboys spending time together at the ranch. It was also good to see Jake with Kellie, and Sawyer again.
Too Late Cowboy is Nash Pearson and Taylor Asher’s story and it’s book 2 in the Magnolia Ranch Series. It’s a captivating read that’s well written with loveable characters. Nash and Taylor are meant to be , they have a som, Cooper together but they have both think they have found love with other partners. When Nash realises he is in love with Taylor he is determined to win her very but first he needs to call off his planned wedding. Problem is Taylor’s long time boyfriend Brad has decided he wants to marry her and has even got the ring…. So will Nash win the day. This was an entertaining and heartwarming read, the characters were easy to love but it’s was a little boy named Cooper who stole the show and my heart.
Nash believed he had his future planned out until the moment that he was about to marry. Realizing that his heart belonged to his best friend and the mother of their son he realizes he wants a future with her but that brings complications of its own.
Taylor thought she had her life planned as well as she believes her relationship with the man in her life will lead to marriage. Her feelings become conflicted when she realizes that Nash is suddenly single and now she must choose the future she wants.
A little drama, some angst and a friendship that was always meant to be more as Nash and Taylor finally acknowledge who they truly belong with even though there was some ups and downs along the way.
Nash Pearson was a dad because of brief affair with friend, Taylor...they co-parent and have built good relationship between themselves and son Cooper. Nash was supposed to marry Bailey, but at last minute, didn't...because she's not his forever...that spot belongs to Taylor who just got engaged to Brad after dating him for three years...Brad is nice guy, treats Taylor and Cooper well, despite his mother's constantly putting Taylor down for having out-of-wedlock baby...but will both realize Taylor and Nash are perfect for each other before it's too late??? I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Another solid addition to this series! Nash and Taylor have history together. They are the best of friends that share a son. Even if they aren't together as a couple, they are determined to co-parent to the best of their ability. Nash was engaged to his long-term girlfriend and realized that he didn't love her the way he should and broke things off. Taylor ended up getting engaged to her long-term boyfriend Brad. Nash figured he lost his chance to love Taylor the way he wanted. It was a great story about second chances and knowing who is the right person for you. I really enjoyed reading their journey to happiness!
Oh wow! Tho was roller coaster of should’ve could’ve would’ve’s between Nash and Taylor. It was such a should we shouldn’t we be together. They both loved the other and everyone with eyes could see that they belonged together but themselves. It was painful to see that they could simply just talk and figure things out together yet they were both too stubborn to even do that. They both just kept on without trying thinking they were doing the best. Brad I could have slapped him a few times with how he made Taylor feel. It was a good book and one I would recommend for sure looking forward to Sawyer’s book for sure.
I love this series so far I’m a big fan of Rebecca she writes wonderful characters and stories and this second book was so good!
It’s Nash and Taylor’s story they have an interesting story they are best friends and co parents but they both are assuming that each other are in love with someone else.
Nash calls off his wedding knowing Taylor is it and Taylor’s boyfriend is about to propose but the chemistry and sparks are flying and I loved the way this story unfolded it was beautiful. I loved the characters and the witty banter. It’s a heartwarming story and I highly recommend.
Nash is adorable, and I loved him when we met him in book 1. He is about to marry a woman he wants forever with, but when it's time to say "I do," he realizes it's not the one he should be saying that to. Taylor is cute, and I love her sassiness. These two are best friends and share a son together. They both have their lives together and do the whole co-parenting thing like rockstars. When feelings about certain things start to pop up, these two need to take a good look at their future and figure out if this is truly what they want or if they are just settling? Because deep down, they want something more. Can they have it without destroying their hearts?
Honestly these two needed their heads knocking together a lot earlier in this story, it's was obvious how in love they were. Angsty, frustrating and twisted plot that went round in circles at times but held my focus and had lots of romance. Great characters in supporting roles as well as Nash and Taylor. Love the kids relationships with the fiesty animals, it's a wonderful touch to the stories. Boy, Nash and Tay had me screaming at them though, thankfully it is a happy ending. Loving this series.
The road to true love is rarely a smooth journey , but the destination is worth the detours.
Taylor and Nash are good with co parenting their son Cooper, but not so good when it comes to their own feelings. Both of them are in full denial of how much the other means to them. So much so that they both have new partners, but when it comes down to committing, they realize they don’t have the feelings they should for their partners. But can they be truthful with themselves- and each other - about love?
