Rachel Donnan is an Irish author who loves nothing more than writing and daydreaming about love stories. She loves to write fast-paced romance stories that include morally gray men that make you swoon, strong female leads to root for, and spicy scenes (because who doesn’t love a bit of spice?).

Fueled by copious amounts of tea and cinnamon buns, she spends most of her time filling her countless notebooks with new ideas, getting lost in the pages of any romance novels she can get her hands on, cuddling her two fur babies, and exploring the greenery of the island she calls home with her second-hand camera.

I liked this. I enjoyed our main characters, Evelyn and Jaxon, and I especially enjoyed Olivier, Jaxon's youngest brother. I'd definitely read his book. Fred was an insufferable ass and I couldn't stand him.

I liked the plot. There were a couple of holes, but overall, it was a fun, quick read. I adore the cover as well 😍

OMG I FRIGGIN' LOVED THIS

"The devil wasn’t in hell. He was kneeling before me, kissing my inner thighs agonizingly slowly."

The spicy scenes were delicioussss 🔥
The groveling was TOP TIER, like he actually groveled and not just for 5 minutes (such a pet peeve of mine when the FMC immediately takes the MMC back)

“Falling in love with you was never part of the plan, but I don’t regret it. Because loving you made me realize that all that rage, all that hatred, it was worthless compared to my feelings for you. Your love healed that angry child inside me.”

I’m so happy I don't have to wait long for Frederic's book & I also can't wait for more of Penny, she's so adorable 😭

What to expect:
- Billionaire romance
- Marriage of convenience
- Forced proximity
- Age gap

Okay this one tore my heart out😩
I love me a grumpy reserved man and Jaxon was itttttt.
The plot was soooo engaging. I couldn’t put the book down. I loved the side characters as well. Evelyn’s friends Lola and Violet are a HOOT. I can’t believe I waited so long to read this, it’s sat on my shelf for what seems like forever. Such a great read🙌🏼

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

BLOG || INSTAGRAM || TIKTOK

Okay so, I picked this book based off of seeing it recommend on a Thread I wrote. It just called to me. And at the time of me writing this review, it has less than 40 reviews on Goodreads. I took a shot in the dark, and I am here to say, I enjoyed this book.

The marriage of convenience trope CALLED to me. And I answered. I thought it was a clever plot with the feuding jewelry stores and I did like both characters. There was some good and feisty banter. I love a man who speaks a different language and I thought the romance showed a lot of potential.

What was missing for me was a fleshing out of all aspects of the plot and romance. Since I’ve read 1,000+ romance books I felt like my mind filled in the blanks because I knew where things were going. I do wish that we had some more background on the feud, the characters, just all of the little pieces put together.

Will I read the next book? Maybe. I think the spice was a bit out of my wheelhouse preference level (but if you like more spicy things, I would say try this!!). I’m not mad I took a chance on reading this though. It brought me out of a slump I was mulling me way through.

Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: multiple open door; fade to black
- Violence: mild
- Content Warnings: loss of a parent (recounted), loss of a parent (on page)

-Spice: 🌶️🌶️
”The woman was a siren calling me to my ruin. Selfishly, I wanted to let her wreck me”

Overview:
This was a fun read with a little bit of spice and just what I needed to get me out of a slump. The plot and story line was fitting, it did not take a lot of brain power to keep up and was easy to read and easy to follow.
Although there was not many spicy scenes in this book, the mouth on this man was just 🤌🥵. I really enjoyed this book and I had a great time, was a bit slow at the start but then as things got going it kept me gripped! I highlighted so many things in this book, I loved the banter and humour between the characters and all the “my wife” phrases just did it for me!

Characters:
I loved Evelyn and how strong, independent and stubborn she was. She was not a push over and had a backbone which is what I love in an FMC, I loved her sarcastic comments and she had me laughing throughout the book!
She puts everyone before herself and was always looking after her family, she put everyone else first and I loved when she did what she wanted in the end and followed her dreams.✨

Jaxon was just 🤌😍. He was grumpy at times, stubborn and holding her at arms length however he was only ever soft around her. He was protective, jealous and the mouth on this man he had me kicking my feet!! ✨
The amount of times he used “wife” and was protective with the word, (SOMEONE PUT THE FIRE OUT🔥) I was melting. This man had me giddy and not breathing.👀

I hate Fredrick, that is all.

Flynn, I really disliked him and could have punched him in the face until the last few pages where he actually stepped up and seeked helped.

Olivier I love and would read his book if there was one🤍.

Other:
Overall really enjoyed the only reason for lower stars is I feel there are some gaps, and needed more story around some of the plot holes as I feel not everything was answered.

I now want to be called “Douceur” by a motorcycle driving, billionaire 🤭 This book has everything you need: tension, heartbreak, enemies to lovers, humor, spice, etc🥵

Jaxon couldn’t even try to pretend to hate Evelyn and we adore a pining man😌 I throughly enjoyed watching these two go from a forced marriage to being friends to more❤️

I loved watching Jaxon go from a cold hearted man to not caring about revenge anymore and wanting more with his life. Evelyn slowly became more confident and we love a confident woman❤️

I would highly recommend this book and if you do decide to pick it up I hope you love these characters and find comfort in them as much as I did… thank you @rachelc.writes for the ARC✨❤️

Okay, but this book here is PURE PERFECTION!
I read this book in one go, everything in this book made me obsessed, the story, the author’s writing, the characters, everything in this book made me excited to read more and more!🤭
I had so much fun reading this book, it was undoubtedly a great read!!!
This book broke my heart and put it back in place, every moment in this book for me was amazing!
I loved seeing Evelyn becoming a more confident woman of herself, she deserves everything!!! She always puts everyone first, always takes care of everyone, she is simply wonderful I loved her🤍
And let’s not even talk about Jaxon I loved him so much, seeing his evolution, comparing him at the beginning of the book and at the end is a huge difference! I loved the way he treats and cares about Evelyn and becomes literally obsessed with her (we love a man who only wants to know about his wife)!!! They together are THE COUPLE!🙌🏼
I loved their romance, they really love each other to the point that they go through a less good phase, but they love each other so much that they strive to solve things, despite everything they preferred to go back to work on their relationship to be together and I think the author did such a great job!!!🥹🤍
After this book I can’t wait to read more books by this author, she really is to be congratulated for this book. This book was my first 5-star book this year to get a sense of how much I had a great read🥹🤍

I really recommend this book to you, give it a chance and it may surprise you and end up liking it as much as I do!!!🤍

I absolutely devoured this! It was one of the best enemies to lovers I’ve ever read, and trust me, I’ve read a lot. Evie and Jax genuinely hated each other at the beginning! That’s such a hard trope to really sell me on, too.

I really, really want more Dade brothers books, so GET TO WRITING, AUTHOR!!

Sweet Wicked Vows is everything I LOVE about contemporary romance.

"I could be friends with my husband. That wasn't so difficult, right?

Evelyn and Jaxon were two incredibly written characters who I love equally. I'm not always a big fan of contemporary romance female main characters but Evelyn was perfect. A people-pleaser but also someone who knew what she wanted and despite everything thrown at her still held those things she loved dear. She did what she had to do, something we could all relate to and got through it. She is probably one of the only contemporary romance FMC that I admire for her strength alone. Jaxon is the perfect romance MMC, he is swoony haha. His nickname for her was so cute, I grinned every time he said it. Did I mention that I love him? Nope? Maybe once? Well I do.

"Even hearing her say his name made me want to burn everything to the ground

Both of these characters were so well done and their story flowed perfectly on the page. There were also some really sweet moments in this that had me kicking my feet and giggling which I love. There were moments where I screamed but like fangirl kind of scream because it was EVERYTHING! The angst, the tension was perfection and the heartbreak hurt so good. I devoured this book and left no crumbs and was consumed in return.

There isn't anything I could say about this book that I didn't like. I loved it all.

It’s my first time hearing about this authors book and i’m skeptic to read it or am i gonna love the story.

But I was wrong and I loved it!!! ❤️

So, it begin with a revenge plot of Jaxon to his rival company which is Evelyn’s father. They knew that on the death of the patriach, Evelyn needs someone who can help her running the empire while her brother, Flynn finished his degree.

At first, all the arrangements were running smoothly. Since Evelyn need Jaxon’s help. She want it to be mutual since they will be married and be together for the period of a year. When all of the carefully orchestrated plan gone wrong. When they started to soften themselves with each other and had bossom feeling for each other.

Evelyn fall for Jaxon, and so is Jaxon to Evelyn, he had a change of heart and learn to love her. Damm be the consequences when he is planning to retract from the original plan.

But all secrets are meant to be revealed and Evelyn was so heartbroken and devastated that they are not on the same page with Jaxon and despite him, explaining that that was him before she change him to be better and to be deserving of her love.

There is a thin line with love and hate they say. And Evelyn learn to forgive and Jaxon made it his life’s work to earn again her trusy and find again their way in each others arms.

The plot and writing is easy to follow and the spicy scene are hot 🌶️🌶️🌶️ chillis! But i felt that the ending was cut short or the chasing after the big argument is not enough justified how to be resolved. So, all in all.. I will give 4 stars 🌟🌟🌟

If you’re in the mood for a quick, smutty read with a genre that hooks you—arranged marriage—Sweet Wicked Vows is definitely worth picking up. It’s an easy, enjoyable read, and as a rising author, Rachel Donnan truly delivered on the writing front.

The story had a sweet, loving vibe with just the right touch of tension and fear, especially when Evelyn uncovers the truth. The chemistry between Evelyn and Jaxon was sizzling throughout the book, even after the truth came out. Their dynamic was so well-balanced—the possessiveness Jaxon had wasn’t overbearing or suffocating but perfectly toed the line, making their relationship captivating to follow.

I also loved the banter and interactions with Jaxon’s younger brothers. They brought a lightness and fun to the story that made it all the more enjoyable. Their conversations added a layer of humor and warmth that contrasted nicely with the more intense moments.

However, I do feel like the book was missing something. It was an easy, straightforward read, but maybe it lacked the twists and deeper layers that could’ve made it more impactful. While it delivered on the romance and smut, the plot could’ve been more gripping.

Still, I liked it overall—it was a solid 3.75 stars for me. A light, entertaining read perfect for a cozy afternoon.

Sweet Wicked Vows is an enemies-to-lovers, marriage-of-convenience romance featuring revenge, angst, a lonely heroine, a grumpy hero, and many swoony moments. Jaxon has been waiting for the day he can have revenge on Lexington, Evelyn's dad, because he believes he is the reason his mother died. His brother organizes a marriage to Evelyn in order to have their revenge... but he never expected to fall for her instead.

You see from the beginning that Evelyn is obviously going to find out about his plan and you wait for the other shoe to drop. But Rachel Donnan really did her thing because *chef kiss* yallll Evelyn is not easy to forgive and forget. I LOVE HERRRR SO MUCH PLEASE!! I lowkey don't like whenever the third-act breakup happens and you always see them patching things up immediately or a few days later. Like!! It's obvious they hurt you, why are you forgiving it so easily? In this book, you won't see that. Oh Jaxon begs! He is in pain! He is suffering! He can't sleep! It's wild and I loved seeing it.

This book was definitely addicting and easy to read. I wanted to keep reading with each new chapter and because of that, I couldn't stop! જ⁀➴ ♡ The first half is, for me, not as good as the last half but overall, I loved the book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves these tropes.

I am so glad I got a chance to read this as an arc and review it!
This book had me giggling most of the time because of how Jaxon couldn't hold his hatred towards Evelyn. He wanted to hate her but he knew he couldn't because she wasn't the cause of his father's downfall. After all, Jaxon is only a man with so much restraint. It's so beautiful to see both the characters fall in love with each other throughout the book.
Evelyn loves her current job but is forced to take on her father's business with no option left. She is forced to marry Jaxon as a business contract. Where she believes loves her father and looks up at his hardwork, she is falling for the man who married her only to break her father's legacy and leave it in crumbs.
The romance, the banter, the spice, the emotions, the friendship and whatever you name are very well written and very, very refreshing to read.
This is my first time reading from the author and now she left me with wanting more of her work.
This book is my instant more-than-comfort book🫶🏼

This is an Enemies to lovers, he falls first and HARD story. Children shouldn't pay for the sins of their father, and revenge is never really worth losing the one you truly love.
Jaxon and Evelyn have only crossed paths a few times in their lives. When his older brother hears that her father is terminally ill, he hatches a plan that will get them the revenge that they seek. However, falling in love wasn't a part of the plan.
He follows his brothers plan. He helps Evelyn be the CEO of her father's billion dollar corporation. They work well together. Jaxon starts to leak information about the old man to the press, and the investors start to freak out The plan is working.
Then, he realizes that he wants more than just the agreed upon timeframe. He wants all of her for all time. And she's willing until she overhears a phonecall that outs the whole plan. She leaves him, and tells him to leave her alone. It takes patience and a lot of willpower, but he does just that. He gives her time and space. In the time that he is gone, she realizes that she can't live without him. She goes to him, and he couldn't be more shocked when he sees her.
Overall, Rachel Donnan does an amazing job with this story. It's got it all. Love, hate and everything in between. It has spice and tenderness.

Took me a while to finish this due to college events, but here it is. I'm gonna make this as brief as possible because I feel like lately, my reviews are hella long.

Anyway, first things first, the writing: which was engaging and a smooth walkthrough for me. I enjoyed how easy it was to get through.

Other than that, I enjoyed how light it was, really perfect for the busy and stress mood I had the past few days or like the whole last week in general.

The characters were also quite good, in my opinion. They all did decently made their presence known, especially the few side characters, which I'm excited to know more about, hopefully in the next instalment.

I think the romance could have been more beautiful, to be honest. I felt like it was a little bit in the dry part, but only a little. The spicy scene was quite good, though. I will give kudos to that.

I would also like to mention the grovelling one, which I would say was quick? There's not much grovelling there for my standards.

Overall, this was still a good read for me. It's definitely recommended if you like a light and a quick read.

Thank you, author, for the e-arc opportunity. 3.5⭐️

"She was all I wanted, and it scared the living shit out of me. Wanting her, loving her, when she couldn’t even stand to look at me, it was like drinking battery acid."

When I saw a post of Rachel on my feed how he gave her his Amex and she went shopping, I knew I had to read this book!
And I was NOT disappointed!! 😍
Evelyn is supposed to step up and be the CEO of her dying father’s company, but she is not qualified to do so. So Jaxon’s brother convinces her it is in her best interest to marry Jaxon, so he can help her take over the company until Evelyn’s younger brother is able to take over.
Little does she know, that Jaxon does not have her best interest at heart.

I was really hooked and could not put it down! I loved how Jaxon warmed up to both Evelyn and her cat Bell and just had a soft sport for both of them. His groveling is probably one of my favorite parts! How she didn’t take him immediately back and let him work for it 😮‍💨 yes.
Really excited to read the next book in this series! 💙

"I wasn't in love with Evelyn. Because falling in love with her was a fool's game. Which made me the biggest fool of them all.

This was my first read by the author so I did not expect much but surprisingly, I enjoyed reading this book. Jaxon & Evie's story was fun, emotional and a bit angsty and it did a great job of getting me out of my reading slump! The marriage of convenience and revenge plot was well executed and the side characters were striking, especially Oliver! Overall, this was a quick and easy read and I'm looking forward to see what's coming up next in this series! My rating for this is 3.75 stars because in the end, I felt like something was missing and everything was resolved way too quick but Jaxon's groveling was satisfying so I have no further complaints. I'm glad I gave this book a chance!

This is book one of the Wicked Dade series! You get to follow Jaxon and Evelyn. Okay they were such a good way to start this series. Jaxon wants revenge and Evelyn needs help in a tough time. Their mean to nice/ soft fluctuating banter was perfection! I got sucked into their chemistry and the “eff it” moment, I’m such a sucker for that. Jaxon doesn’t play when it comes to his wife!

I honestly can’t wait to read the next book🙌

Sweet Wicked Vows starts with the classic trope of a temporary marriage of convenience. Evelyn agrees to marry Jaxon for a year in exchange for his help with running her family's business while she's waiting for her brother to take over. She has her own career dreams, of course, that she needs to put on pause while she helps the family. Jaxon's motives are less altruistic, but he keeps those reasons hidden from Evelyn. The story is dual-pov, so we get to read both Evelyn's and Jaxon's POVs. I enjoyed the book.

Their was a plan to get revenge, what wasn’t part of the plan was to fall for his temporary wife but when he starts to get to know her more and cares for her, it might be a little difficult to go ahead with the plan he once had.

I loved every second of this book. The love that grew between Jaxon and Evelyn was so beautiful, it made me so jealous because like why can’t I find that type of love and don’t even get me started on the found family in this book like I want that, give it to me, let me join.

A romance read that will capture your heart.

Jaxon and Evenly just needed a break from their families because why were we making these characters suffer because of their families. I mean the attracting and want was there for each other and the need to be with one another was crazy. Like they want each other without the pain that follows. I think that they just needed time with each other away from the family and with everything out and in the open. He groveled like a man and we thank him for that owned his mistakes and to properly say he is sorry to her. I can’t wait for them to start their own little family.

There's just something about nicknames in books that really get to me. He called her "douceur"? That was so sweet. And the tension between Jaxon and Evelyn was off the charts! I love a good arranged marriage trope, and seeing them go from enemies to lovers was everything. Their relationship was far from straightforward, adding depth and complexity to the narrative. Overall, it was a delightful and enjoyable read.

Soo sweet!!!!

This was precisely what I needed after the emotional roller coaster that was my last book read!! I loved it!!! It had all the best tropes, and Jaxon is straight swoon-worthy. I have never read a story with a French-speaking MMC. It's my new fav... skip the Russian, Italian MMC's you want your man calling you all kinds of sweet nicknames in French. The spice was on point, but I can't recommend this one enough!

Enemies to lovers is always an easy sell for me .. but Jaxon was just the perfect French sin 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I know these types of books are predictable: hatred ➡️ attraction ➡️ steamy sex ➡️ love ➡️ betrayal ➡️ forgiveness ➡️ end. Yet somehow I still got the thrill from the simmering heat & teary when he kissed her goodbye 🥲

Honestly who doesn’t want a delicious brooding Frenchman pining for them?

This book is so good! If you like enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, "my wife," billionaire MMCs, a good spice to plot ratio, and groveling, then this book is for you!

I read it on KU and I loved it so much I bought a paperback copy! All my favorite tropes are in here and I enjoyed every minute of it. The cover is gorgeous and Jaxon is sexy as hell. Its the first in her new series and I will be reading all the others to come next!
