Whether it's one of his thriller novels set in the raw wildness or one of his Emmy winning television shows, Dan weaves unfolding action into the process of self-discovery that empowers readers and viewers to consider how they fit in the great circle of life that entwines us all. And when he's not writing about it, Dan dives headlong into his innate thirst for outdoor adventure off the beaten path. His deep interest in history compelled him to edit and publish "Trinity Flight" the amazing true story of a young army pilot who accidentally flew through the world's first atomic blast at Alamogordo, NW in 1945. OMG!
The best part about this book was how descriptive and accurate it was with the terrain. The reason this gets 4/5 is I did not like the main Character (Brad) very much.
Overall I thought this was a really great book. You might think it starts slow, but the beginning is where you need to pay attention to the most. You need every single detail they tell you in the beginning or you will not, I REPEAT, will not understand the story. This writing style is not for the faint of heart, there will be people dying. Keep a look out for spoilers in the book because they try to give you hints at what's going to happen towards the end of the book. One of these connections was when they were getting their car fixed. The girl mechanic says something like "How would you feel if the deer hunted you?". The girl mechanic is probably my favorite character, even tho she doesn't appear in the story for long, she really got me more intrigued in the book.
I think this book was great. Some things that grabbed my attention were the characters my favorite probably was Pa, Brad's grandpa which he just sounded like a good guy. One moment that happended that I really like was a deer attacked a character named Mr. Crane and he ended up dying since he bled out in the cold. (SPOILER) I make a connection to Brad's friend named Corey since he did get hurt by the same deer and he felt alond since Brad had to find help but he expirenced things like that before he said and so have I, so I feel like Corey and I feel the same way on things. Overall the pace of the book was great and the writing of discrepiton was also spot on, so it definely was a good book.
