Mates: It's Not A Thing

Rate this book
A story of star-crossed friendship, and then star-crossed love.

High school senior Logan Willis makes a new friend in the summer before school starts. A new BEST friend. And, okay, maybe it seems weird to some people that a senior is best friends with an eighth grader, but that doesn’t mean his parents need to split them up at every turn. It’s just that Logan’s never really had a best friend before.

Somehow, his older sister turns into his only ally (and that’s just wrong), and he gets sucked into a relationship with an older woman when all he really wants to do is play Super Smash Bros. and make YouTube dance videos with his BFF.

But maybe the older woman isn't right for him romantically after all. Maybe it's the best friend his family has looked down on this whole time.

A young adult, m/m novella.

It's set in Milpitas, which was fun for me. (I went to Milpitas HS in California, though well over a decade ago now.)
