I giggled myself silly.
Don't expect anything with depth or quite a lot of detail. This is a short entertaining story about how the devil finds the love of his life.
Oren and Luc are super cute and hot together. And Oren is a bit of a crazy character but really great. And the other inhabitants of hell are all a bit nuts. Naturally.
I think I'll build myself an “uplifting” shelf. Every now and then these kinds of books are just necessary.

Luc’s office was probably the worst thing Oren had ever seen. His skin itched at the sight of those poor, abused, crinkled binders. He just wanted to cradle them in his arms and tell them it would all be okay because he’d help them get nice and organized. 💗😳💗

“People can complain?” Oren asked, squirming a little as the touches got higher.
“Sure.” Luc used his thumb claw to run along the inner seam of Oren’s pants. “If people think they’re being treated worse than others in the same group, if they feel their torture method isn’t suitable, or they don’t mesh well with their assigned demon, they can file a complaint. We have forms for that. Somewhere.”

Re-read because the authors have extended this - can't say I really noticed what had been added though!

I'm still obsessed with Oren!

As if a teeny tiny guy decked out in a pastel rainbow with endless bowties accidentally finds where he belongs by being sent to Hell by a matchmaking God. Oren can spend his days organising the office and stationery supplies (plus torture instruments) of Lucifer himself, not to mention basically making himself the boss and all the demons just going along with it because Luc just wants his man happy - the absolute confidence! I also love reorganising offices and making them more efficient so I had some serious envy of Oren and now I'm thinking how I can reorganise my own office space and bookshelf😂

I previously said that I wished this story was longer, and now it is (marginally!) I also wanted it to become part of an ongoing series, and now there will be Hellfire and Tinsel, which I'm very keen to read because I think it's Kassel's story and he definitely deserves to be happy after how much Luc despises Oren being friends with him because he's the frequent Mr Hell pageant winner 😂😂

Hilarious

This story was so cute and hilarious. I enjoyed it. It was a really fun read. I only wish the story was a little longer. That is why it’s 4 to 5 stars because I wanted more.

"He wanted Beast’s bows to match Oren’s, and he wanted his clothes squished and wrinkled to make room for Oren’s. He wanted to spoil him and indulge him and love him."

Oren doesn't belong in hell but was sent there anyway. Why??
Omggg. Oren and Beast with the matching bowties 🥺 This was too cute! I love how Oren made friends with all the demons.. Their lil spa day made me giggle.
Spicy parts were hot. Loved the size difference. I'm a big fan of snuggling in wings and tail play.
I can't wait for Zoran and the twins story. I just know that Big Grump loves them.

A funny, quick, and entertaining read about a human who ends up in hell, despite not being a sinner, and the devil himself. Oren is in hell already, he may as well try to seduce the demon in charge!

This book has:
-human / Lucifer (Luc haha)
-exciting demon anatomy (horns, prehensile tail, and ..ridges)
-funny banter and very unserious discussions of torture
-a bunch of overworked demons who just need some help with organizing some files

This was a really fun read, and it’s easy to devour in a sitting. The characters are so over the top, but it’s still sexy.

I’ve definitely noticed this author loves to have a sensual scene be interrupted in their writing, as there was a lot of that in both this book and a previous one I’ve read. But these moments are great examples of how the funny and sexy content combine.

Definitely read this if you’re looking for a fun and lighthearted paranormal book!

Oren was just an adorable bundle of sass, organizational zeal, and weirdness. Immediately wanting to jump the devil’s bones? My kind of guy. Luc was all disorganized and overwhelmed. He was also kinda petulant and tended towards possessiveness, but indulged Oren to an excessive degree. They were cute together. The bureaucratic logistical nightmare that was Hell was funny and the book was very comedy centered.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: Hell, torture, discussion of death and dying, heart condition

Breaking news: new favourite AM Rose book spotted! Make sure you read this one asap!

Hellfire & Bowties had me giggling, kicking my feet, screwing my eyes up and even crying because of how much I adored it. It’s the perfect blend of ridiculous humour, hot as hell spice, and the sweetest most charming couple to ever come out of pits! This book might be Hell, but it’s one giant hug for your brain.

Oren is an innocent soul whose heart condition meant he died far too young. When he finds himself inexplicably in Hell, his day is made to discover that Lucifer is a tall drink of yumminess (horns and tail included), and while they’re all figuring out what’s happened he can save the nine circles from the true terror - out of control filing systems!

Oren is just the sweetest, kookiest character. Nothing phases him or gets him down, and he is just so kind and friendly you can’t help but love him. He is also completely gone for Luc straight away - I mean, the guy is huge, muscular and has deliciously useful extra appendages (not to mention being ridged for your pleasure), can we really blame him - and Oren’s flustered and very thirsty thoughts are completely adorable and very relatable.

Luc, for his part, is the harried and overwhelmed overlord for Hell, and the sight of this precious, pastel and bowtie wearing human floors him in the best way possible. Luc has clearly never wanted anything so badly for himself before, and he is completely at Oren’s mercy from the get go. It’s so sweet to watch this big bad boss man be willing to do anything for a tiny human and just be so lost over him.

The spice is amazing with the chemistry off the charts! Get ready for a bit of bondage and a lot of dirty talk. The humour throughout the book is also top tier. You are not ready for the situations these characters find themselves in and the many weird and wonderful ways they react! I never wanted this book to be over and I can’t wait for book two. I need this on my shelves immediately, one of the top reads of the year for sure!

"He wanted to claim him. Imprint on him. He wanted to be the only thing Oren remembered when he inevitably left Hell."

I just loved this little novella!! The MCs were so much cuter than I was expecting from a book set in Hell. Oren is a young human who has found himself in the place that nobody hopes to go after they die. He is pretty sure he didn't do anything too nefarious in his short life to be deserving of eternal punishment, but once he gets a look at the sexy demon in charge Lucifer he doesn't really care much about that anymore.

Lucifer, aka Luc, is stuck in a conundrum. He's got a human soul stuck in Hell by mistake, and the Big Guy upstairs is unavailable to help. It doesn't help that Luc finds him incredibly attractive and that their bedroom tastes seem to perfectly align. Even his demons have begun to befriend Oren. He fits in like he was always meant to be there. Which is what makes him so upset over the fact that sooner or later Oren will sent upstairs where he was originally meant to go.

I really enjoyed Luc and Oren's romance. I'm excited that this author duo will be continuing this series with Kassel next! All of the major side character demons were fun additions to the story and I bet I'm not the only one hoping for a future story featuring a certain grumpy demon and the twins!

A mix-up with new arrivals in Hell results in this super cute book!

Oren was good while he was alive but just a smidge too weird to make any real connections. He finds himself right at home in Hell and by Luc’s side, who’s absolutely smitten.

There’s a diverse cast of characters to keep things interesting and keep Oren entertained too!

I loved this quirky romance about a soul who is accidentally sent to Hell instead of Heaven. Luc rings upstairs to sort it out. Oren isn’t on their list either and God isn’t available to put things right. Oren is stuck in Hell until the big Boss becomes available. Funny what can happen in the during that time.
The book is well written and very witty. It has adorable characters, a bit kinky at times but adorable, and a good storyline that is well paced. I enjoyed it thoroughly and thoroughly recommend reading it.

A truly amusing and unusual story where Oren (a small human with interesting clothing choices) turns up in Hell after he died and soon has every demon and hellbeast there organised and doing exactly what he wants. The devil will never be the same again. The demons were really interesting characters, and a series of more stories about them would be very welcome.

Hellfire & Bowties is a damned delightful romance set in Hell. It’s hilarious and hot, and I could have read about Luc (aka the Devil) and his demons for days. Add in one sweetheart of a human, who is also wonderfully weird, and you’ve got a fantastic novella.

Oren is a new arrival in Hell, but after everyone is sorted by sin, he’s left without a group. When Luc realizes Oren shouldn’t have been sent there, he tries to sort things out — but the man upstairs is busy. Until they can get Oren where he’s meant to be, he’s stuck in Hell. Which, considering how hot Luc is, he’s pretty okay with, actually. He’s making friends with demons, he’s got a new hellbeast pet, there’s loads to organize — and a devil to seduce. Oren may not be a sinner, but he’s far from innocent.

Oren and Luc make such a great couple (I love how befuddled Luc is by Oren on the regular), and this is such a fun and surprisingly steamy little novella. It made me laugh out loud, and I fell in love with all the side characters, too. I hope that A.M. Rose has more planned in this world, because it was delightful.

This is a very cute paranormal/demon romance between a human soul and the king of Hell himself. Honestly they are such a cute couple, this is a great palette cleanser if you just want something fast, lighthearted, sweet, and a little spicy (and a little silly).

Oren and Luke are so cute!!!! I really, really hope that we get more books in this world. I really want to see Zorun find his HEA with some sneaky little demons and Kassel and Jek to find their HEAs too. I also reallly want to see more of Tana because she seems like she would be terrifying and hilarious at the same time.

I absolutely loved this - I found myself smiling and sniggering throughout. Oren (clean freak twink extraordinaire), and Lucifer's chemistry is off the charts, and it seems that they were meant to be! I love that they bonded, as well as just wanting to rip each other's clothes off, it isn't only about the sex. Their personalities and connection were so well written, I loved their quirks, and they're both hilarious in their own way. Genius matchmaking by the authors, Oren really shouldn't be in hell, Lucifer is lonely and bored. Oren (who also has a naughty twinkle in his eye 😉), falls immediately in lust with Lucifer. Despite his size, he's teeny weeny, Oren takes on hell, its demons and the devil....and wins. A hot hot match, arranged by God, but made in hell 😊

Read 21st Jan, 2025.

“You’re literally the weirdest soul I’ve ever met,” Luc said matter-of-factly.
“Thank you.” Oren smiled.

What a delightful little book! i read the 2nd book first, and so was already a bit familiar with Oren. Now that i’ve read his book, he’s even cuter up close!! Poor guy had his life cut short and he ended up in Hell and right on the lap of none other than Lucifer himself. It’s low angst, filled with sexual tension and very fluffy! There’s 2 awesome sex scenes with BDSM elements (or 1 very long continuation of a scene, whichever way you prefer to see it) which ticked all the boxes! i’ll talk about it below. Tropes at the end.

Fanmade by me. River as Oren and Drac as Lucifer.

What i liked: ♦ The concept of Hell & Heaven as bureaucracy. i think it’s such a refreshing concept and love how it’s inspired from Dante’s Inferno. Love how his book is used as an example of info leaking about Hell.

Big G is the CEO of the whole thing. And everything has paperwork. The Devil is like the manager of Hell. They even have employee benefits like vacations, etc. Such an interesting concept!

Cute little fluff ball named Oren. His life wasn’t as sad as Beau’s so i didn’t find myself crying here. He’s not at all a sinner, but somehow just ended up there. Mostly, like Luc, i was just in awe at how cute he is and so extremely optimistic. Nothing fazes him (except darkness).

“We match now!”

“I can see that,” Luc said, torn between staring at the human in bewilderment and just melting at how incredibly silly and cute he was.

Organising, laminating are his jam. So he’s perfect for Hell! Also love how he’s able to befriend even the snarkiest of demons. And not Luc being jealous of Kassel!! 😂😂

♦ i liked how Luc appeared more as a manager very close to having a burnout. But i also feel that took away from his scary persona. Wasn’t scary at all. Loved how he calls Oren ’hon.’ It’s just a meaningless nickname (like how the twins call Oren ‘Pinkie’) at first but every time he utters it, the endearment gets more & more pronounced.

“The ending seems like a bit of overkill. I’m sure, like… a week of torture would deliver the same message,” Oren suggested sweetly.

Luc eyed him for a second before nodding. “Whatever you want, hon.”

Loved how Luc found it less and less impossible to say no to Oren esp when he has those big doe eyes set at Luc! 😂

♦ It’s a plot driven story, sex was not there until the 85-90% mark. But it more than made up for it. Nip clamps, nip play, hands cuffed together, DAP (w/ tail) and moaning. i rarely find scenes like this, which give me everything i’m looking for.
And it feels so intimate cuz there’s no no flowery language of how it’s making them feel— just them describing how they’re going at it and how they’re responding to each other’s body.

So on top of a very satisfying story, there’s also this very satisfactory love making session with sprinkles on BDSM.

If i have to nitpick, i’d say i didn’t like the almost breakup that happens towards the end. i just couldn’t see why Luc, who’s the incarnate of all the 7 sins, suddenly become selfless and wanted to return Oren to heaven, despite the latter not liking the idea at all. ig love makes people (& the Devil) do weird things. And i didn’t like really like Big G. Huh.

Tropes: 📘human soul x Devil, 📘innocent MC, 📘sheltered MC, 📘size difference, 📘grumpy/sunshine, 📘touch starved, 📘Only 1 bed, 📘touch him & get burnt, 📘manhandling, 📘strict t/b, 📘sex toys, 📘nip clamps, 📘nip play, 📘 sounding, 📘restraints, 📘moaning (during sex), 📘begging (in sex), 📘multiple orgasms, 📘self lubricating peen, 📘DAP. 📘No breakup, 📘no cheating, 📘3rd person dual pov.

CW: Story takes place after MC has died of a heart condition. The condition and its effect on him are mentioned in passing.

i want to read more about the Azroth, Tarikh and Zorun now!! Can’t wait for book 3!!!

This was my second time reading this story and while I rather enjoyed it the first time and thought it would be a great re-read, I found that this time I could not as well suspend my disbelief and had more questions than not, leaving it less of an enjoyable read.

Oren has lived his life with a fatal heart condition knowing that one day he would die, and now he has. Unfortunately he has ended up in hell, though he doesn't seem to match any of the groups of sinners and doesn't know where to go. This means that the Devil, who it turns out really is a sexy beast, takes over his case and protects him, awaiting a return call from Heaven to get everything sorted out. Instead Oren finds that he really likes Hell, from the demons to the beasts, and enjoys making an afterlife there, if he can just convince the Devil to make it into something more.

The biggest nagging point for me was the whole sinning thing. It is clear that this is just meant to be the part that is skipped over, there is hell and sinner end up there, end of story. The thing is that they go over a few groups of sinners, with adulterers and murderers and such. These groups actually made me wonder what all qualifies as a sin to get you into hell in this story. After all, one of the groups mentioned is lairs, and they even try to put Oren into this group but he gets rejected for not being a liar. But then later on he very clearly lies about his 'mental distress', which actually has the Devil worried since he doesn't think of Oren lying, but it is all to get office supplies. Oren also ignores when they say to stay in one place and often wonders off or snoops, saying how his parents never told him no because they were worried about how long he would live. This paints Oren as someone spoiled, not above lying to get his way, who doesn't take no for answer, all of which does not sound like the 'innocent' they keep claiming he is. So if he is an innocent what did others do to get into hell? The juxtaposition of Oren being innocent and yet doing things that were clearly sinning really just soured the whole thing and made it hard to get into what should have been a fun and sexy little romance.

'Luc would happily eat Oren up… out… whatever was on the menu.'

I adored this book so much, the writing captured me instantly and the story was simply easy to fall in love with. Luc & Oren are perfect for each other, very much opposites attract and they compliment one another beautifully.

The world building is stunning, I loved how brought Hell to life with the stones and lava alongside all the chaos. Various rooms, creatures and demons all with their own roles & entertaining moments.

Some fun found family feels to with developing friendships, the organising and redecorating - the spontaneous spa day was hilarious. Honestly so many sweet moments and humour throughout, with the twins & Zorun. Kassel and Jake, everyone brings their own charm to the tale and I'm excited for more in the series.

Oren & Luc have so much chemistry, that instant attraction and falling in love as they realize their connection and how well they fit into each others lives. Create a balance between them, bring out the best in each other and I adored their relationship.

Got to mention beast and the baby demons the wardrobe separation and of course the glimpse of heaven and the guy which were all added to fun of this tale!

The spice is short but fun and hinted at moments too, these two once finally get the chance it's all in for them both. With all of the heat and passion 🔥

Overall I enjoyed this story so much and only wish had more time with these two, they get their happy ending though and so very fitting. I look forward to reading more in this universe ✨

Another one read on a long plane flight...

Cute! That's about it. I enjoyed it a lot, but not thinking about it much after finishing. An enjoyable read about Oren, a human who's passed and been sent to the wrong place...aka Hell...and Luc, the devil himself, who is infuriatingly intrigued by this bowtie-wearing anomaly.

Intrigued, confounded, attracted...

Oren always knew he'd die young; he lived with a health condition and never got to experience many things. Finding himself in Hell is...interesting! Here he finds the strange, weird, misfit crowd he's always craved. So what if they're a bunch of demons? And the leader, Luc? Sign him UP to climb him like a tree, because this virgin has Needs that have never been satisfied, and Luc's just the devil to explore them with.

It's steamy good fun, shenanigans in Hell, a match made in...well, there's a reason for Things, and two unlikely lovers finding they're each other's Person. No real conflict, except...Oren isn't supposed to be in Hell and won't be staying...! Oh dear.

It's fun.

HEA, virgin human–experienced but jaded devil, grumpy-sunshine, paranormal romance. No cheating, no others, good possessive vibes from the devil. Safe for me! I raced through it. It's not deep but delivered a few hours entertainment. Recommended.

This is the first book of the Hellfire series and I absolutely loved it!

Oren is a human destined not to live long. While alive, he was lonely and treated as fragile by others. Despite having lived such a short, innocent life, Oren unexpectedly finds himself in Hell with all the sinners.

Luc is the Devil and trying desperately to keep Hell running smoothly...and failing. Everyone is overworked and undersupplied. So when he finds himself with a cute, innocent human, he's totally bewildered, but not at all disappointed. Luc and Oren have instant chemistry. And lucky for Luc, there is only one thing Oren loves as much as his adorable bowties...organizing!

Oren is so cute and in no time, he has all of Hell wrapped around is finger. Nothing Oren encounters scares him or so much as makes him miss a beat. He is assertive, but in a way that has everyone thinking giving Oren what he wanted was their idea. Luc is utterly besotted and happy to let the sweet human whip his demons into shape...as long as no one tries to touch Oren.

All of the characters in this series are fantastic and I enjoyed them immensely. I loved the world building and the portrayal of Hell as a corporate machine. It's funny, it's sweet, it's steamy, and I cannot wait for more!
