Bailey:

Caleb Sutton met me on my worst day. He’s the cop that saved my daughter and me.
My daughter somehow managed to pull this magnetic man into our lives. I vowed to stay away from men after the disaster that was my marriage, but every little thing he does wears me down. He’s there for us when things go wrong and then starts promising to always be there. Not just for me, but my daughter, too.

Caleb:

For years, I’ve said I would never be in a relationship. I have too much baggage. Then Bailey Emerson and her daughter entered my life and everything changed. They flip my world on its axis, and my protective instincts kick in. It doesn’t take long before I decide that I’m going to make them both mine.
Will Bailey and I be able to get over our hang-ups about relationships? Will her ex push us apart or only cause our relationship to grow?

This book was SO emotional and I was not prepared for it. While the first book in this installment had its moments, Saving You was a rollercoaster of emotions. Read the trigger warnings before starting it!

The book was such a feel-good moment. For anyone who wishes their partner/family member/friend would do things for you because they WANTED to and not because you had to beg them - then this is your book. Caleb is THE definition of a green flag. Literally, the only reason he was holding back at first was because he believed that he had too much baggage, but that was not the case. This man went above and beyond for this mom-and-daughter duo and I loved the pace of both relationships throughout the entire book. He made sure to always include the daughter and there was never a doubt - at least to me hahaha - that he wanted both of them in his life.

The things that Bailey and her daughter had to live through were heartbreaking. From the very beginning, I was in tears. I was so incredibly happy with the way things turned out. I liked the progression of the relationship and really loved that they didn’t immediately fall into bed with each other until at least halfway into the book. It showed how much they cared for each other and how they put more important things above the physical aspect of their relationship.

Although the book does show that the MMC is a cop, it isn’t a main focus for him throughout the book - for anyone who isn’t into that. It comes up once at the beginning of the book when the two meet, and once more at the end of the book during the climax. Otherwise, his being a hockey player with the rest of their friends is much more important, including the relationship he is building with the girls.

This book has the best HEA and I want to read it all over again already, and it’s only been a few hours haha. I won’t go in too much detail to not give spoilers, so once the book is up I will come back and update this review with quotes and the such!

I received an ARC from netgalley in exchange of an honest review. And I also wanna thank the author for this copy of the book:

The way I adored this book. It was fantastic. I was immediately invested in the characters. It really pull me in. I loved everything about it.
Bailey was a strong woman who had to survive something that no person should suffer from. She always put her daugther first, no matter what. Her happiness was second and she was ok with that until Caleb came along.
Caleb is just swoony. Everyone deserves a man like that. One who would do literally anything for us and love you with everything he has. He protect his girls and loved them without reservations, without restraints.
They loved each other, flaws and all. And the way Bailey saved him too. They saved each other and I was here for it. I loved their love and all the secondary characters too. I literally can't wait for more books from these series. I have a theory about the next one, we'll see if it happens

Caleb is one of the officers that responded to a domestic call involving Bailey and her ex-husband. After everything was done, Caleb is left with another haunting image, Bailey protecting her daughter, Charlie. A few days later when Bailey and Charlie bring Caleb cookies as thanks, the spark they have proves that the first spark wasn't a fluke. Both Caleb and Bailey are bit broken, each in their own way, but they seem to keep bumping into each other. With some funny bits, loads of drama, quite a few trigger warnings, and naughty bits that were smoking hot; we get a story that sucks a reader in and keeps hold till the very last word. I give this 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the idea of this book and the storyline but the writing didn’t vibe with me, it was too descriptive and it was very repetitive. I finished it only because I was invested in the characters although they didn’t seem realistic at times. Overall it wasn’t a good read but I did enjoy some of the moments in the story, especially the relationship between Caleb and Charlie who was Bailey’s daughter and I loved the nickname he gave her, little bear. I enjoyed their moments but it was too much too fast with both Charlie and Bailey. He was a cop and former military but he didn’t really act like it, I was hoping for more touch her and 💀 vibes but there was very little. To each its own I guess?

4.5⭐️ Talk about an emotional rollercoaster! This book pulled so many different emotions from me in the best way possible. This story follows Caleb Sutton, who was the officer on duty when a 911 call came in for a domestic violence case. Bailey has been through so much and wants the best for her daughter, Charlotte. After the 911 call, Charlotte develops an immediate liking to Caleb which forces Bailey and Caleb together. After a threat from her abusive ex, Caleb offers Bailey and her daughter a safe place stay.

Caleb is the definition of IF HE WANTED TO, HE WOULD 👏🏼. Bailey was not used to having someone there to rely on, to help her with Charlotte, and Caleb was happy to step up and be the partner she always deserved. Charlotte took an immediate liking to Caleb and it melted my heart! Their relationship was seriously the cutest and the fact he calls her Little Bear 🥹💗.

This is a story of two broken souls saving one another and becoming stronger together - get ready for this tissues on this one!

- single mom
- hockey
- forced proximity
- found family
- healing
- touch her and 💀
- cop MMC
- he falls first

Thoughts 💭
The perfect mix of sweet and spicy, protective and possessive. Alpha male dissolving into vulnerability and tenderness for his girls.

Both Bailey and Caleb are strong, independent and closed off people when they meet. I loved experiencing their walls coming down and for them to show vulnerability, understanding and love towards each other. The relationship between Charlie and Caleb warmed my heart. His devotion to Bailey and Charlie was a breath of fresh air.

My heart swooned for the family dynamic that is formed and nourished throughout this book.

This was such a beautifully written book about overcoming trauma, facing your fears and finding true love. The book was so good and had so made cute moments between the MCs.

Caleb visits Bailey’s house to respond to a domestic disturbance call involving her ex-husband. A few days later, Bailey’s 5-yr old daughter, Charlie, wants to thank Caleb by bringing him cookies. This is how they meet again and Charlie takes an immediate liking for him.

When Bailey’s abusive ex tries to threaten her again, Caleb offers them a safe space in his house. I was so invested in the MCs from the beginning. Bailey is such a strong woman who always puts her daughter first and tries to keep her safe and happy. They have been through so much and she deserved all the happiness in the world.

Caleb is the greenest flag! He shows his love through acts of service and physical touch, which Bailey is so new to since her ex never did anything to support or love her. Bailey is conscious about her (mom) body, but Caleb makes her realise she is beautiful and that he loves every inch of her skin. He was not only good to Bailey but also adored Charlie and included her in everything. And he called her Little Bear💖

Caleb saved Bailey in the beginning of the book but they continue saving each other through their relationship.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I was so angry for what Bailey and Charlie had to go through so much in the past, my heart broke for them but I was happy that they found Caleb, who had been through some trauma of his own. But overall, I was so happy with how everything turned out in the end.

The found family trope was so good and I loved the banter between all the characters. I liked how Bailey and Charlie fit perfectly into the amazing friend group. This is the second book in the Destined Love series but can be read as a standalone. Please make sure to read the trigger warnings before you start this book🫶

Thank you so much Alex Taylor and Sunny Babe PR for this arc copy🫶

loved them

I was so ready to jump back into this world and continue learning more of these characters. Caleb is the strong and silent type so obviously I was most curious about his story. When we catch up with Caleb, he is being rushing to answer a 911 call, not knowing it was going to change his life forever.

“You’re saving me just like I’m saving you, and that’s okay.”

Bailey is trying to move on with her life after divorcing her ex but he refuses to leave her alone. When things escalate, she is broken to learn that not only did her daughter witness the abuse but she called for help. Now she is left to continue picking up the pieces with her daughter Charlie. Charlie was such a great addition to their story that helped show another side of Caleb. He bonds in such a way with the little girl that I was tearing up over their relationship.

“What am I going to do with you, woman?”

Both characters are dealing with a lot but together they help each other face those demons and begin to move on. I honestly didn’t expect him to be so playful but I was here for it. The changes you see in him as he starts to fall for Bailey and Charlotte was beautiful to see. If there is something you need to know about the men featured in these books is when they fall, they fall hard.

“Next time, I’m going to kiss you hello and I don’t care who sees it. We’re doing this, Bailey.”

I love how Bailey seamlessly fit into this group and how much support she gets from them almost immediately. When this group loves, they love hard and become so protective. This book is more emotional with the topics that they deal with but I loved watching get their well deserved HEA. I literally can’t wait for this series to continue.

Note - MMC plays in a hockey league (non professional) but there is plenty games/ ice time etc)

OH MY GOD THIS STORY
I FELL HEAD OVER HEELS FOR CALEB SUTTON.
The way he loves Bailey and Charlie. Taking them both in with the click of his fingers. THE SPICE 🤩

A few favourite things said/done that I loved in this book

To the people who felt unworthy, and those who stepped up and showed them their worth

“If you don’t stop calling me Officer Sutton, I might have to take you over my knee to teach you a lesson,”

Caleb: You should know listening to that had me coming harder than I ever have. I can’t wait to get my hands on you.

“Do you know how hot it is knowing you think of me when you get yourself off?” I shiver. “Would it make you feel better knowing I think about you when I jerk off? That I think about you on your knees and your pretty lips wrapped around my cock. How good I know you’re going to taste on my tongue and how hot and wet your pussy will be when I finally get to have you. Bailey, this isn’t one-sided.”

I lean forward so my head is beside his and lower my voice so only he can hear me. “I may be sworn to uphold the law, but you don’t want to see just how quickly I’d be willing to break any and every law to protect those two girls. I served. I have all the training to back me up. So, I recommend you climb your ass back into your car and drive away before I show you just how serious I am.”

She shakes her head but doesn’t look at me. “No, I want Caleb to be my daddy. He doesn’t hurt you like Daddy does. He’s nice, and he plays with me.”

There’s no point in denying my feelings because he’s right. I’ve fallen for both of these girls, but I’m not sure Bailey is ready to be loved again, no matter how much I want to.

4.5⭐️ Wow, what a beautiful story of overcoming trauma, finding love in the most hopeless of places, found family and what true love really looks like.

Caleb, our MMC is an amazing golden retriever of a man who, as a police officer, “saves” FMC Bailey during a particularly traumatic 911 call.

Bailey, is endlessly strong despite having faced truly terrible circumstances in life — and she “saves” Caleb from demons that plague his psyche from when he served in the armed forces.

Together, they become a truly beautiful family unit with Bailey’s daughter Charlie — the interactions between she and Caleb are heart-squeezing time and again.

I just loved this book — I knew zero about it going in except for the quick blurb I read but found myself completely absorbed in this gentle, nuanced story. Alex treated really hard subjects like domestic violence and PTSD with grace and respect — and wove these elements into the story in a way that made sense yet didn’t exploit either idea.

The entire extended cast of characters was amazing as well (I’m going back to read the first book in the series to experience Liv & Josh’s story asap)! Their presence drove home the importance of found family in our lives — and real family, in the case of Caleb’s mom and brother, who welcomed Bailey and Charlie with open arms.

I can’t say enough about Saving You. I think everyone will love it and am so happy I was able to read it in advance! Thanks to the author and Sunny Babe PR for the opportunity!

Saving You ~ Alex Taylor (ARC Review)🤍

I don’t even know where to start with this book! It is so beautifully written and so easy to connect with, and the storyline just flows together so seamlessly. I would read this book over and over again and never get bored. Everyone knows I love a good single parent book, but this is just a different level, 100% my favourite one! It was also so emotional as well i have laughed, I have cried with this book. I will continue to shout from the rooftop about it. I cannot wait for everyone to experience this book you will fall in love instantly with every character, first off Bailey is just a beautiful person inside and out, and also so unbelievably strong. And I mean Caleb, need I say more, he is the literal definition of being written by a woman. I just love him, and love him for her and Charlie! I loved the addition of Charlie she was just perfect in every way. I don’t think I have one bad word to say about it. I’m trying so hard to keep this completely spoiler free but I just want to rave about this book!! Omg and the spice just tops it off perfectly. 1000% would recommend to anyone, especially a new reader because it is so easy to follow. 5/5⭐️

Okay.. okay... I absolutely loved this book. As someone who was a single mom, I don't typically read a lot of single mom books. Not sure why, it is just something my heart wants to avoid. Especially when the mom had a rough go of it physically, mentally, emotionally... just too close to home 😬, but this book... ugh, it was so good 🥰.

I'd 💯 serve my heart and soul and body up on a platter to Caleb Sutton 🫠🥵😍. He is quite possibly the perfect book boyfriend/husband/dad... You name it, he wins the title. I spent all of the pages just swooning right alongside my girl, Bailey.

Watching Caleb and Charlotte (Charlie) interact quite possibly stirred up some emotions and tugged on some uterus strings and even though I can't have anymore children, boy it made me think twice 😂.

It was also so wonderful to revisit my old friends from Alex's first book, Always Been You, Olivia and Josh 😍. Love seeing where they are and I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of these characters. Bring on the next book!!!

Summary:

Bailey and Caleb met when he responded to a 911 call at her house. Charlotte, Bailey’s daughter, called 911 when her dad started hurting her mom during a visit. She was scared formed a connection with the responding officer Caleb. It forced Bailey and Caleb to also spend time together.

My thoughts:

Please read the possible trigger warnings before reading.

Charlotte and Bailey’s characters are so well done. I felt like I was reading the story of my kids and myself. Saving You highlights the struggles abuse victims have once they leave. There aren’t many people who realize it’s not as simple as “Well they got out so they are fine now.”

Caleb even with his own baggage as a veteran with PTSD did everything possible to make sure Bailey and Charlotte felt safe but had a safety net.

This book was just well done but I wish the connection with Bailey and her friend Lily would have been more important. Lily was the one person who had been there for Bailey since the beginning and she was barely involved in the story.

Thank you @sunnybabepr for the ARC.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Where to start… Caleb, Bailey and Charlie the most adorable trio🩷

I was honestly so honoured to be picked as an arc reader for this book and it did not disappoint at all!!!! This is the first book I’ve ever been an arc for and I think I read it in about three hours I was completely engrossed. 🤣

Alex has done so amazingly with this story it’s so perfectly written! This is such a heartfelt storyline, it goes so deep in the ways they fix one another 🫶🏻 (5/5⭐️plot)

I don't know how this book was real! I am so obsessed!! If I could post this review as a voice message, I would! It broke my heart but it never let me down! (Read the book and you'll understand what most of this means!)

Bailey and Charlie went through so much (during and before the book) and like them, I instantly loved Caleb, the officer who is first on the scene for a domestic disturbance involving her ex. What follows is pure magic. The 🥰, 🤣, and 🥵 moments made me practically feral. The found family trope pulled me right in. The conversations between friends had me cackling late into the night. And the spice was spicing almost right from the start. I can't say enough good things about this book!

I can't wait to read the rest of this series! Book 1 is already out (Oh yeah, this is book 2 but when do I ever read books in order😅) and there are strong teasers for books to come. I'm already obsessed with the characters for Book 3! I NEED TO READ THEM ALL!!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Caleb Sutttooonnnn. Obsessed. Strong, silent type, unless it’s with Bailey and Charlie. Then he is the sweetest man to walk the planet. He treats them like the most important humans alive. Not only did he fall for Bailey, he fell hard for Charlotte. His little bear. He treated her with the utmost respect and showed her what all different types of love should look like.
“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.”

Bailey and Charlie had to live through some heartbreaking things, especially at the hands of Charlie’s dad. It was amazing seeing the two of them and how strong they were. And even more amazing to see them learn to trust and lean on their found family.
“𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.”
“𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘴. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”

The spice is spicingggg. Caleb has a dirtyyy mouth.
“𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭, 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘤*𝘤𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘴𝘰 𝘧*𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘦𝘹𝘺.”
“𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘧*𝘤𝘬. 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵. 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦.”

The whole book was an emotional rollercoaster but the whole way through, it was fantastic. I definitely recommend. Thank you so much to Alex Taylor for the ARC. ♡

“He has become my home. He is the one place I always want to be. He is the light in the darkness that had become my life, and I never want to give that up.” 🩵

This book had me giggling and kicking my feet. I was expecting a sweet contemporary romance (it was), but I was not ready for the emotionally journey and struggles of both MCs. They’ve both been through hell and still somehow continue to be resilient. They are literally perfect for each other. 🩵

Parts of the book were cheesy, but that is what I came for lol. I also was not expecting it to be SO spicey!

I loved that Caleb called Charlie “little bear”. Everything about their relationship was so sweet.

I adored Caleb’s friend group. They are all such genuinely good humans, I liked their banter and I loved their friendships with each other. I can’t wait for Grayson and Hannah’s book to come out. 🥹

To say this book completely took hold of my heart is an understatement. How close it hits to home is why it took me a month to finish. You definitely want to check TW if you’re in a DV situation as things do come to a head and is so accurately described it can bring you back to those places.

This book is raw, authentic, and unfortunately relatable for so many women. The romance and banter between Caleb and Bailey is what so many dream of. Then throw in having a daughter to the mix it’s *chefs kiss*

I read this on my kindle and before finishing it I had to buy the paper copy to keep on my shelf. I’m happy to say I found *my* Caleb

100% worth the read!

Let me tell you this, this book will make you feel all the emotions of the characters. This story captivated my heart. Caleb is an amazing guy who literally dropped everything for Charlie and Bailey. They became everything they needed for each other and more. Charlie was the cutest little human, and Caleb was exactly what she needed as a roll model. Bailey was a sweetheart and deserves the world .

Definitely go read this book. You'll love it. I'll have to read her first book as well if this one was so good.

5 Star review of Saving You by Alex Taylor

Alex Taylor is a new author to but I will
Be looking into her books when time permits.

I love single parent stories and quickly became invested in Bailey and Caleb’s story. From the chapter I was hooked on the story that Ms. Taylor wove. I fell hard and fast for our couple and Caleb was such a swoon worthy, caring, protective man.

Both have been burned on the past but if they are prepared to take a leap of faith, will they find the happily ever after that they deserve.

One click and find out.

Saving You is about single.mom Bailey and cop Caleb. Bailey and her daughter, Charlie have been through so much dealing with her ex-husband. Caleb is first to respond to a distress call. There is an instant attraction between them.
They start to hang out and see what happens. Caleb falls for them both and Bailey learns to love again.

This was a cute read with low angst and no third act breakup. Bailey was an ok character but Caleb was a top-tier hockey playing, military veteran, police officer triple threat!! They both had traumatic events happen in their lives that shaped the way they viewed life and relationships and it is so beautiful how they saved each other.

Whelp, I tried. I honestly tried to get into this one but I ended up quitting it around 42%. I did skip to the end and am happy to report they do get a happily ever after.
For me, the concept of this story is great!
I did enjoy the actual characters. Caleb and Bailey on their own are well written and had great potential! I just couldn’t connect with them together. Bailey seems a little too… something… needy maybe? Or maybe insecure??? I’m not sure. She doesn’t treat Caleb how I feel he should be treated…
Just not the story for me.

Such an amazing book!!! I have completely fallen in love with Caleb, Bailey and Charlie. There is definitely some spice which just adds to the amazing storyline. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone who loves a good spicy romance!
