This slice-of-life series is a firm favorite, and so it isn't surprising that I enjoyed this one. The residences have finally arrived, and seeing the Ghost Mountain pack try to learn how to live in a place that now has real beds is heartwarming.
The only downside is that this series has a bajillion characters, and so when I first found it and binged it, everything was fresh in my brain and easy to follow. But now that I'm caught up and there's a gap between books, it can be hard to remember who is who. I found that to be especially true with this book, as several somewhat more distant secondary characters were part of the focus.
Oh well, it just means I need to re-read. :)

Another fantastic read about the shifters of Ghost Mountain. I just love visiting and catching up on everyone.
I can't believe we're 11 books into the story that started with 3 guys hiking in the woods, and there's still so many threads to tie off and others to weave together.
Evan, this story's main focus, has showed a tremendous amount of growth since his days of leaving the pack to work with the cats and then returning. Once again, a character with flaws, provides a way for others to fit into the new shapes of the pack.
No baby and no Ani yet, coming in the next book per the author.
Highly recommend. Wish you could jump in and start reading with this story but there's so many characters and back stories. Find Alpha and start there.

This is story is part of one of the very few (two or three) series that I will reread, and I've reread this series several times. I just love it, and this book is just as satisfying as the previous ones. The author has a knack for writing and developing characters that feel like good friends who you like to hang out with. This book centers mostly on redemption; the stories of the saving of some of the lieutenants from the 'Era of Evil' that plagued the Ghost Mountain wolf shifter pack for years. As badly as some of these men hurt the pack, wolf shifters have trouble letting pack members go without giving them a second chance. The ex-lieutenants are in various stages of coming hom: some are redeeming themselves willingly, some reluctantly; some may get a chance and some will never be allowed to return. If you like fantasy, good story telling, with just wonderful characters, multiple points of view (which add so much to the story) and a good variety of characters who are woven together very well - pick up this book! If you're new to the series (lucky you!) start with the first book 'Alpha', find a place where you won't be disturbed, and dig in! Bonus that the books are on KU.

Normally when I read books in this series I race through them, loving the healing that is going on and the unusual path it takes. But for some reason, this book was tough. I had to keep stopping, reading it in smaller chunks, moving on to something else.
There were big changes in the pack, mostly with the members that were outted and now they were deciding if any of them could come back and if/when they did how would that be. Evan had already returned and that was going well. Others have been deemed no way in hell, a couple maybe and one for sure. It was interesting to see that guy come back and how he fit in and the hoops he was made to go through. It seemed like at every turn he was befuddled, yet also liking what he was finding.
Then we had the added perk of the residences finally being built and how that ended up being tough for the pack, the walls, seemingly keeping everyone apart. They came up with a good way to deal with it, a bit chaotic, which is the underlying basis for everything in the pack, yet it works for them.

Another beautiful story of rising from the ashes of trauma
Once I started reading the Ghost Mountain series, I was hooked on the story of a group of shifters rising from a trauma that should have destroyed them. Each story in this series focuses on one more member finding their way to healing in unique ways. I found it in some ways inspirational at seeing how the healing isn't perfect, but that it is just fine for it to take time and to find the way in your own way. This series may be about shifters, but it shows how acceptance is a part of recovery and that occasional back slides may be inevitable but can be gotten through with help, and time. That trauma will always linger, but life can be lived around the shape that you need to heal.

Oh so wonderful!
Audrey Faye’s new books may come with less frequency than they used too, but they are no less extraordinary!
The redemption story (sort of part deux) of a “lieutenant,” albeit a lesser-ish one, was unexpected. It takes a really deft hand to elicit sympathy for someone who caused harm to others, and that’s exactly what Ms. Faye has.
I like this Evan. I like what he does and tries to do for “pack” throughout the story, and I really like the reasons he has (spoken and implied) for doing them.
I’m very greedy actually. I want more stories, faster, that Audrey Faye composes with such effortless mastery and imagination. Sigh… I will try to be a more patient bear because what she creates is so worth the wait!

It is definitely not every book that makes me stop and review what was said so I can capture all the nuances behind the words. In this series, A. Faye helps that process with the circumspection of the wolves inside the humans as well as analysis by each other during conversations. While the characters don't seem to be as accepting of themselves or their own mistakes, there is so much love and respect for each other. This book focuses mostly on Evan and the changes he is undergoing. Cori is another primary character in this arc. It's so fun to see the changes within the pack and how it has morphed into something so very different from anywhere else. Because of the very large number of characters, I encourage anyone new to the series to start with Book 1 - Alpha.

Aa always with this series Miss Audrey delivers a great story . I love the Ghost mountain Shifters and whistler pack and the polar bears and Reese's cats and the ravens and the hawks . I love the community feeling and the strength and resilience of the characters and their stories. I don't know what it is about this series or this author's writing but from the first few pages she's able to move your emotions . I found myself crying from the 2nd page and I don't know about others reading this book and this series altogether but I find myself cheering for these characters when they're happy and in tears for their pain and emotional struggles and I love that this author is able to do that even though I always need a pick me up Read after the emotional roller-coaster her books take us on.

Redemption in a wolf skin
I love this series. I love the complexity of a community with human problems and animal instincts. The characters are deep and complicated. I love reading about the difficulties and solutions that this story provides. Unlike so much fiction that relies on the individual all knowing hero who rides in and tells everyone what to do, this story looks at how a group of broken, flawed people can achieve something beautiful. Keep telling these stories, please!!! They help me believe that there can be peace and healing for the most broken.

Another great episode of Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters!
In Catalyst, the pack is becoming more stable, balanced, and flexible. Did I mention fun? Reclaiming old pain into new strength, creating more hope and trust where it was once thought impossible to have! There are still a few holes in the pack hierarchy, but they are filling up rapidly! Can't wait for 12... you rock Audrey! I only wish the world at large could employ some of your reclaiming techniques! And your psychology!

great addition to this series
I love this entire series and this book is no exception. Evan’s journey works well as does Colin’s. There are some characters I find less convincing and occasionally I feel characters are in relationships that don’t work in my head Rio and Bailey feel like they are together because it worked for the overall story, same with Ebony but this is such a strong story that it works despite a few niggles and I love the cats and polar bears, they work so well.

Best Book Series Ever!
I could say so much but I am going to keep it short and sweet. This series is so good that I reread all of the books each time a new one is released. This is Book 11 so I’ve read Book 1 eleven times. It never gets old. It’s a story that is excellent for all ages. The f word shows up a few times in the series but not often. I’m going to be reading these to my grandkids. Read Book 1, you won’t be sorry! Now…if only Ghost Mountain were a real place and the pack real people…I’d live there in a heartbeat!

Loved this instalment, however, if you're new to this series please start at the beginning not this one which is #11.
Evan, is the main shifter in this one, a flawed wolf learning to be part of the pack again. We meet nearly everyone again, so that was fun.
Just waiting on Ani, the teenage polar bear to come and stay with the pack and also the alpha pairs' new baby will make an appearance in the next book, Bard.
This is an excellent series, looking forward to the next one.

Tears and Chills
I am always blown away by the way Audrey pulls every single emotion out of me - sometimes in a single paragraph. Catalyst gave me chills one minute and tears the next. I am a fan for life, whether she is writing about wolves or dragons or witches or colors or assassins.

This is another fantastic addition to the Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters series. Watching Evan’s journey to taking his correct place in this amazing, loving, wacky pack was such a fun (& heart-tugging!) journey. I’m very much looking forward to reading more about this pack and all of the hearts that are healed, & the shenanigans that ensue.

So Good But Too Much!
Such a contradicting mess of feelings! I love the Ghost Mountain Wolf Shifters books, truly, I do. They give me the 'feels' just like the Modern Witch Series used to. But, boy am I struggling. I adore the characters (even the a**h**es) but there × a bit and concentrate on fewer characters... so this oldie can keep up.

I was so excited to see there was a new book in this series. Catalyst serves up everything I love about this series: a diverse cast of some of the most likable characters around; stories of redemption, empowerment and found family; and pacing that keeps you throughly engaged. I can’t wait for the next book!

I adore this series, but I am finding it more and more difficult to reorient myself within the story as long times pass between each book. This time it took me about half of the story before I became part of the interplay. Perhaps a short summation at the beginning would help. I just don’t have time to reread the series each time a new book comes out.

I love the Ghost Mountain Shifter series. They have a good mix of danger, fantasy, humor, love, and healing. The psychological part of the stories I am still finding different facets to every time I reread this series, which I have done a few times now. I am always on pins and needles waiting for the next one to come out.

February 3, 2025Audrey Faye writes books that are like a warm hug. They are just so cozy; feel-good reads that warm you up from the inside like a nice cuppa lemon herbal tea. She is definitely one of the best authors I've encountered thanks to Kindle Unlimited, and I always borrow any new books of hers as they come out. Highly recommend this author.

I've been waiting for the next book in this series and boy this one didn't disappoint! I read a lot but am rarely moved to write a review, but I love, love this series so much so that I have reread every book 4 times. Thank you Audrey!

Must read series
I love this ghost mountain series and all its wonderful characters. I have been following from the start and never want the stories to end. They make me laugh a lot and cry a little too. I can recommend to any fantasy reader who loves to curl up with a good book

great series
I love this series and this is another good addition to the story arc. The only thing I have trouble with is I read too fast so I've always have a long wait for the next addition.

Inspirational
If humans could be this insightful, our world would be so much better. But many humans don't care enough about others to make a difference. Thankfully there are still humans who do make a difference we just have teach more to care enough to do it.

I did like this book in the end. Much better than Poet. However the multi povs do get on my nerves. It used to be two or three per book now anyone can take a turn and I find I forget who the narrator is. Also not a lot actually happens in this book apart from Colin. And he doesn’t even get a pov.

I like this series. However, it would be really helpful (for me at least) to have a list of dramatis personae at the beginning or end of the book. I find myself losing track of who is related to who.
