This is the 2nd book which is the conclusion. The author is very hit and miss on her shifter books but this one was great. It was a great plot and I liked both MCs.
I do have to admit I was actually shocked when h killed one of the villains who happened to be 8 months pregnant. that shite was dark. 😱 The baby would have been H’s sibling. The two MCs had talked beforehand on what they would do with the baby and h was like “I don’t want it” and H is like “I don’t want it either” 🤷♀️ Man, they was cold hearted for that
This book was just a bad as the first one. It was just all over the place. I can tell this was written on AO3 or one of the per chapter reading apps out there because this second book especially was just chapter after chapter of nothing happening. There is no plot to this book, other than the other pack is going to attack, so they need to attack first. That it. I got so bored that I am super glad that it is over at this point so I don't have to keep going.
Editing/proofreading issues are still there. Basic English still needs to be learned by the author. Learn when the word I vs me needs to be used. It was misused all over the place. I didn't see it as much in this book as the first one, but that is simply because that phrase itself wasn't used as much.
Again, there are too many POVs in this book. Are they needed? No. Absolutely not. To be honest, most of them could be removed and not affect the story. Considering there was barely a story to begin with, it would take a lot more to derail things in this book.
Also, there are still consistency issues. Amelia's last name was Saint in the book. Then, randomly they use Cross? I call that to be a typo. Not sure how that was missed. Oh, right! It wasn't proofread. Also, Marilyn's dad was on 5th mate, then suddenly it is the 8th?
Again, the author is not giving info until it works for the story. They were kidnapped as kids, and suddenly we find out about it so Kaylee has a reason to not like dungeons. Then it isn't really mentioned ever again. Seriously?! No trauma, just a quick, made up reasons to be afraid, which doesn't really affect anything and isn't needed.
Last, there is all the talk about how much Lucas has changed from how he used to be. If he was such an asshole, why did Kaylee and Simon really want to be his friend in the first place? There is no continuity, here.
I am glad that this is over. This is what I hate about shifter romances. Juvenile writing, and little to no plot, other than how this 18 year old can lead hundreds of people who somehow don't know how to take care of themselves until she comes along. Can we just not call these babies/children pups? Are these people that can turn into wolves, or wolves that can turn into people? This annoys the crap out of me.
I will not read this again and will not recommend this to anyone. Prepare to be bored. I really hope I don't read this author in the future, unless her writing matures. A lot.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I couldn't wait to finish this book. Not because I was enjoying it, but because I stopped enjoying it. When the main female considered ending her unborn baby's life, then killing her very pregnant enemy, did not male her look like a shining heroine. Also, the whole thing with the guy who helped her when she was suffering from her rejection was weird. All of a sudden he's no longer talked about in the story because he made a stupid mistake. Definitely done with the series.
The book's abortion proposal made me sick. This is a romance novel with wolves. I want romance and pregnancy. Calling the baby "it" and saying it's her choice makes me sick. What about the baby's choice, who didn't ask to be born? Doesn't he deserve to live because he's inconvenient? I'm tired of this bullshit ideology in everything. I'm reading a fantasy novel. It's supposed to be escapism.
Beautifully written without the usual long description . Nice to see the expected hierarchy took on a different order. Kaylee and Lucas grew into their own. It was a change to see good prevailed over evil ridding Fur Oak of Ramos and Marilyn. A well written and good book .
I don’t understand how an alpha can be freaked out over his mate sparring while pregnant, but be okay with aborting that same pregnancy. This story tries to be relevant by having a gay couple and women who can beat up men. I skimmed most of the story because of these reasons.
So it's official 6 books later and clearly rejection is the new proposal and I have to say it is the best proposals yet... I'm moving to the fictional world, it's been nice knowing you all😉
The books weren't bad. I appreciated all the various POVs. I didn't understand why Ash had a male mate though. Wolves mate to produce offspring so I was caught on that. It felt out of touch and just thrown in to have diversity.
I feel like killing a pregnant person who was evil is taking it a little far especially for someone on the good side to do it. The baby was an innocent….but other than that it was a really good book
This next. Book was about her being pregnant and then taken back to be the leaders of the pact that was stolen from them. They have to go through a lot. They make meet a lot of people who help them. They get rid of the people who supported the guy who did horrible things
It took them a little while but Kaylee and Lucas came full circle. Just reading about Lucas's father cruelty had me shaking my head. I felt like I was watching a movie reading this book. It was exciting.
It just dragged ooooonnn for too long. I skipped a lot of it and then even more to the end just so I could finish it. Solid story but all of the points of views were just over the top.
What a great story from mating to expecting a pup to defeating his father and they both become Alphas of the pack and changing the name to Gilded Moon from Oak Fur. They are home and are large and in charge.
I didn't get very far before I DNFed. It's not my style but I won't yuck anyone else's yum. I just didn't connect with the story, or the characters. The writing style was too simple and I felt very lost, even within the first few chapters. So no, I do not recommend.
Great story can’t wait till the next chapter. This book brings out the fear of loosing love and rebuilding it. It shows us that sometimes we have to look inside ourselves and get rid of those people who try to jeopardize us.
I didn’t read this. I keep seeing it suggested to me and I’m writing this to remind myself I don’t want to read it. The next book is the part 2, I don’t want to read that either
