I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. The blurb hooked me, and off I went on a journey!
Croix and Nageenah have sassy, sexy banter that had me hanging on their every word. Sandra creates a magical world, where shifters were part of the Special Forces, but are now retired to the great expanses of Alaska. A wonderful place for a bear! Ms. Ramsey's writing style kept me hooked - I felt like I was living in Alaska and part of the story.
The secondary characters are equally good and I'm looking forward to their stories!!! If you need to escape with a bear shifter this is the book for you. Croix will keep you safe, love you, feed you and complete his mission.

Compelling start to a new series, BEAR ESSENTIALS by Sandra Ramsey had me turning pages into the early morning. Engaging characters and breathtaking world building, I liked how these shapeshifters were once Special Forces soldiers, now retired to the wilds of Alaska. Excellent dialog, full of snarky banter. The romance between Croix and Nageenah is sexy and sweet. And the dangerous “mission” to finally reach the happily ever after had me on the edge of my seat.
