Jeremy Stonehart is a cruel, vindictive man. He wants me to submit. He wants me to give in.

I will never give in. I will never yield. No matter what he subjects me to, I will always fight.

I will not forget my resolve.

Let Stonehart think me broken. I am not so easily deterred as that. No matter what he puts me

through, I will always remember my own strength. I will always remember that in the end, I have

control of the one thing he really wants:

My mind.

I will never give him that.

I will resist.

This series is really getting good. I didn't fall in love with the first book and even thought about not continuing the series. I'm sooo glad I did. We finally get to see a gentler side of Jeremy in this book. Of course, it is short-lived. It also becomes apparent that this abduction has been planned for a very long time. I'm dying to find out what the past connection is between the two of them. The storyline feels reminiscent of 'Consequences', by Aleatha Romig, which is a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see how it all plays out. I'm dying for the next installation. Usually I wait until a series is complete before starting so I don't torture myself this way!

I don't know... 2 more books to go and I can't get a picture where this is going to.

I can't see a HEA in "two books time".

Is this not a Romance?!

The hero here is no hero. Actually, what a bastard he is (the hero).

I hate Mr Stonehart fiercely and it is what keeping me rating this series 5 stars.

He really gets on my nerves.

Here's the thing about mini series, I want every page to count! Then there's this thing I always fear, for the characters to suddenly change. But guess what? This DID NOT disappoint!!!!

My first reaction after reading, I wanna cut Jeremy's balls off!!!

My God, this guy is sick! What a sadistic asshole! And I loved it! Cause I didn't want him to suddenly go soft....

And Lily... I so don't want her falling for him. Pourquoi? Nothing about Jeremy is loveable... and I know Lily knows better than that.

Though there was a moment that I thought it was heading that way.... This is such a mind fuck! Well done Ms. Edwards....

I still don't know what Jeremy's motive are or maybe there's none and he is just a perv! Still, it would be nicer if some of the mysteries would unravel a bit soon.... like maybe on the next book? Here's hoping.

That said... there's a reason why I'm not so fond of mini series, I hate the wait for the next book! It's torture!

Talk about whiplash. Just when you thought Jeremy had no redeeming side, he shows a little kindness.

And as soon as you start to think there might be a glimmer of hope, he crushes it into dust. Pulverizes it.

If you thought Jeremy couldn’t get any worse, think again. He finds new ways to traumatize and break Lilly. He has truly frightened me with just how dark he will go.

At the end of SUBMISSION, Jeremy left Lilly confined to her bed for trying to get into his office. Lilly uses the isolation to reexamine everything she knows about Jeremy and comes to an eye-opening realization about what he wants out of her. She stops playing the submissive, broken girl and starts speaking her mind, which seems to earn her a different side of Jeremy. A softer side. But just when I started to think Jeremy might have hope after all, he went psycho crazy mad and showed me that I don’t even understand the depths of cruelty he has buried inside of him.

After reading SUBMISSION, I remember saying that I was having a hard time remembering some of Lilly’s history and I was worried it might become important later in the story. Well, in RESISTANCE, Lilly’s time in solitude allows her to reflect on her childhood and on some of her regrets with her mother and I thought it was the perfect amount to refresh any readers who like me might have gotten fuzzy on some of the details. Jeremy also forces Lilly to start examining why he chose her and when. He gives her a few hints that left me wondering if maybe this is a master ploy for vengeance after all. Is Jeremy somehow related to Paul? When did Lilly enter Jeremy’s cross hairs? I’m pitifully still hoping it’s not all a vengeance plot as I have a feeling I will absolutely hate Jeremy beyond repair if that is the case. Lilly thinks Jeremy’s kindness in RESISTANCE was all an act to get her to trust him only so he could further break her, but I’m wondering if his sudden attitude change wasn’t a similar reaction to Lilly’s. I wonder if perhaps they both got caught up in the moment for a second there and then when they had time to reflect, they both started thinking it was all an act for the other party. To me that would explain how nasty he suddenly was, if he thought she’d been playing him and he’d fallen for it. Because he’s so prideful of how savvy he is—he would abhor being duped by anyone, especially her.

RESISTANCE as a whole had a lighter tone than the first two volumes in the UNCOVERING YOU series, however it also showed that there is still a lot more anger and cruelty that has barely broken the surface. It was well told, flowed perfectly, and has me absolutely ensnared in its madness. I am a pawn to Scarlett Edward’s whims at this point—ready to devour each future volume in the series.

Talk about obsessive....I found myself feverishly checking Amazon this morning, waiting for this next installment to come out. Finally, it did and then I found myself reluctant to start, because I figured once I did, I would not be able to stop until it was done and then another 20 days of waiting.....

And, yes, my trepidation was a self fulfilling prophecy. I started reading and could not stop and had to slow myself down, so as not to miss anything. This story has been mind blowing from the start and Lilly's continuing saga did not disappoint, except when I got to the end and I REALLY wanted more.

Jeremy is slick, the machinations of his mind can't be predicted and Lilly does her best and wins at times with her pre-emptive strikes, but there is always retribution, it seems for slights....real or imagined. That coupled with the eroticism of Jeremy and Lilly makes for one hot story.

I hate to wish my life away, but, I am hoping these next 19 days go fast....until May 30.

My excitement over this story has not abated!! I absolutely LOVE.IT.

Could be "Spoiler-ish" if you haven't read it yet!!!

The 3rd installment in the Uncovering You Series is just as captivating as the first two. We find a little more out about the lengths Jeremy has gone in order to get Lilly into her current "situation".

Jeremy tells Lilly that she deserves to be worshiped. Then he says, "I would have adored you if you were anyone else." So now, I'm trying to figure out where she fits in to HIS past . . . I keep coming back to Paul and wondering if he could be connected somehow. We don't know what happened to Paul or what caused the breakup between him and Lilly's mother. Paul saved Lilly, then, shortly after that, her mother left him and Lilly never saw or heard from him again. Or could Paul be someone (brother?) that Jeremy hates so much that he is using Lilly as a form of vengeance?

Maybe, he began plotting his revenge against this person years ago and has manipulated things to get Lilly right where he wanted her, but after meeting her, he genuinely began to like her and became attracted to her. That could explain his hot/cold and caring/enraged flashes.

He thinks that he should hate her for whatever happened in his past that somehow involves her, but he continues to forget and wants her and is falling for her. In return, he gets pissed off with himself and punishes and lashes out at her because of his conflicting feelings and thoughts.

There was an instant attraction, on Lilly's part, so her being able to still be attracted and want him at times isn't hat hard to understand. Jeremy is her only company, for the most part, so she's growing closer at times when she lets her guard down.

I'm really hoping something comes out that will make him not such a monster, like most of the readers have deemed him to be. I have not given up hope on him yet. Yes he's been cruel and done horrible things that he's going to have to deal with and find a way to get forgiveness from Lilly.

We've already seen Lilly falling and giving in to the draw he has on her when he's caring and gentle. But, I think that in the end, he's going to be the one begging.....for forgiveness and understanding because he won't be able to handle losing her. I think his resolve is deteriorating and he's falling hard and fast and doesn't know how to handle it.

I really want to learn where their paths originally crossed and what was done to him that caused so much hatred and animosity that he felt that manipulating her life and trapping her into this contract and doing these things to her would be justified in some way.

I have not given up on Jeremy Stonehart yet and have not labeled him a monster yet. He changed his name to separate himself from his father and family. He wants people to think he's hard and cruel. I think there's a man in there still and Lilly's about to break him.

I can't wait for the next installment!

Just when I thought this could not get darker and more erotic, Part Three comes out to shock me!

Our author has woven a plot line that will take you to the deep recesses of a Master's mind not for the faint of heart. How much closer to the edge of insanity can this man get in his effort to control her mind?

Just like his last name implies (Stonehart) you wonder if this man ever had a heart? What happened to him to push him to the point of needing to control Lilly to the breaking point? I need answers!

I am hooked on this BDSM series. Scarlett Edwards is telling us a very unique story. I love her writing style! Her characters are both gentle, sadistic and full of mystery. May 30th cannot come soon enough for the next installment int his series.

1 boring star :(

What just happened? Nothing, nothing important!!

This is a novella series! and this is already the 3rd book and still, NADA! I haven't found anything good about this novel. Is there a way to rewrite this novel? From book 1, the story was 'blah' I mean this is a novella series, you're supposed to excite the readers for us to follow through but gosh, it's the 3rd friggin book and it's just the same shit happening!

All of my previous reviews for the author and the book were 5 starts. And the plot and the writing is 5 star.

However, there is something I hate about this... This starts to feel to me like watching episodes of a TV series. It took me about 2 hrs to read book 3 (or episode 3 - this is how I will call it). There is no information on when the last book will be out. Does the show goes on as long as we keep reading, like with TV episodes? Based on the progress of the plot I'm getting a feeling that this book may continue into Dec 2014 if not later. I'm contemplating that after Lily's story is written, we will be waiting to see a "Behind His Eyes" version for Jeremy... in pieces. This is very frustrating.

So, because of this I'm basically out of this series. Books in the style of TV episodes are not for me. I read to relax and I like a sense of completion/satisfaction/peace I get when I finish a book at 4am in the morning and I get to the end. Cliff hangers and short episodes do not work for me. Granted, I will probably read the whole series (if I still remember about it) once all the books come out. However, until then, I'm not touching this book or any other incomplete books by the same author.

I understand that 2 star rating may be cruel, but it took off 3 starts for frustration. I understand that future books are expected to be longer. Nevertheless, I still do not see an end in sight. So this is not good enough for me.

Oh dear God, where do I begin? I was on an emotional roller coaster reading this book. My heart was literally aching by the time I was finished. I cried so much. This series is insanely well written and it just gets better with every new book. I am going through withdrawal waiting for UY4 and thinking that I will not be able to wait till May 30th.....it needs to get here now! Everyone needs to know about these books!!!!!

Part 3 - Another fab book. Jeremy is still a evil bastard though. What is his interest in her? Why her? So many questions still! These short snippets just leave you wanting so much more! Look forward to the next one.

Book 3 continues the story of Lily’s capture and we slowly learn more about the main characters. We are still missing the major “whys.” Why was Lily kidnapped and why is she being held by a beautiful, rich, ultra-dominate madman. These questions along with the interesting, twisted, erotic, frightening story keeps me fully enthralled in the book series.

What I am finding interesting is how the author is able to build the possibility of romance in the midst of a truly scary situation. Just when I am starting to think that maybe the H and h are making romantic progress, a horrible bombshell is dropped. One incident in particular was so graphic that it made me sick, but it also fit so perfectly into the story. (Sorry no spoilers here.)

I love a good total power exchange (tpe) and this exchange is absolute.
- Think rules of behavior strictly enforced by a madman (or is he truly mad?).
- Think of constant monitoring by intrusive cameras.
- Think of a collar that cannot be removed and works to inhibit where the h is allowed to go.
- Think of a diabolical system where the h can “earn” her way to freedom.
And so it goes… I am somewhere between needing my big girl panties to get through the more frightening moments and dropping my panties altogether when the passion is turned to high. I guess that means I must give book 3 a panty-rating of just above my knees.

This is a great series so far (and I hate the series format as a general rule with cliffhangers and the cost of paying for chapters, not books). Well done Scarlett Edwards and I am looking forward to reading book 4.

The color that Lilly wears has an electrical prod which can be activated when she steps outside the area he restricts her to. One of the first lessons he taught her in book one. The problem is she never knows where the borderline is. She is dependent on him to tell her. At the end of book one he puts her on the bed and tells her, "I would not leave that bed if I were you." This leaves her to believe he has moved the borderline in to the edges of her bed and there she is kept for three days with only a chamber pot and food delivered each day. She sits and waits for him to free her and all she can do is think. He told her the story of how he crushed his brothers and father.....a story of vengeance and he also said, "I can see vengeance in others." She also recalls when they first met in the board room of his business and how he admired her spunk and straight forwardness. She thinks maybe what he wants is for her to use my mind and not to give him her submissiveness. She tries a different approach....defiance, challenge instead of submissive, cooperation.

That is how it starts.....but then he does something so cruel....ugh, so horrible. And the things he says to her....he is a true sociopath. I hate him!

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the second book, which reminded me too much of Consequences down to the video viewing scene. I'm enjoying the ride however in this book as to how Stonehart is mindfucking Lilly. He's hot but mostly cold, says that she should be adored yet tortures her, and gentle at times but mostly harsh. The fact that he is relentless in his pursuits and makes readers feel a strong emotion for him (read: hate) would make his redemption more breaking or her escape/survival more "Yes...you go girl!" Either way, the harsher the punishments/torture...the more our emotions are played with (either hatred, disgust, shock)...so the author definitely got that going.

I hate it when authors write chapters and publish it as a book. To me, it's a way to "milk" the readers before the book ends or to generate hype because the book is now stretched. Sorry, both tactics are not commendable in my mind since a good book can stand on its own merits. The next few books does need to be longer in order for the money to be worth it. I'm glad the author is listening however and will make the upcoming ones longer. Thank you!

we pick up 3 days later. an its then that Lily realizes shes been playing this 'game' all wrong. determined to change her fate. Lily makes necessary changes in her actions to gain the upper hand over Jeremy. But just as she lets her guard down and she thinks she has the upper hand. He proves hes always in control.

He got me too! Jeremy Stonehart proves more and more he cannot be trust..ever!! There was a brief moment in this book where I thought.. finally! Some humanity if finally starting to shine through. But I was proven wrong once again.
Jeremy's evil vindictive side shines bright In this book.. and as sick to my stomach it made me... I freaking loved it!! But i need more.. I'm counting down the days til the 30th... Only 14 day to go...

Don't judge me...

4.5 stars. Lilly is still fairly resolute although any faltering for her regular demeanor is understandable, she is being held captive with psychological manipulation. Jeremy is still not likable, although he does show capacity to actually be gentle and unselfish. It's still not quite clear why he is fascinated by Lilly in particular because as much as he is obsessed with her, he is rather cruel and he is a mastermind. Yet, owning her makes him...happy? I'm waiting for more of Jeremy's past or personality to be revealed because maybe he is pure evil or maybe he can later be redeemed or maybe he really cares for Lilly in a sick and possessive kind of way.

Argh! 14 days till the next book..........why? WHY?

description

Anyway, I'm so fascinated and intrigued by this story that I can barely contain myself.

It reminds me a bit of Consequences, but I think Jeremy is a waaaaaaaay bigger jerk than Tony.

Hopefully, by the next book we'll get a few answers *hint, hint*
