2 more books to go and I can't get a picture where this is going to.
Jeremy tells Lilly that she deserves to be worshiped. Then he says, "I would have adored you if you were anyone else." So now, I'm trying to figure out where she fits in to HIS past . . . I keep coming back to Paul and wondering if he could be connected somehow. We don't know what happened to Paul or what caused the breakup between him and Lilly's mother. Paul saved Lilly, then, shortly after that, her mother left him and Lilly never saw or heard from him again. Or could Paul be someone (brother?) that Jeremy hates so much that he is using Lilly as a form of vengeance?
Maybe, he began plotting his revenge against this person years ago and has manipulated things to get Lilly right where he wanted her, but after meeting her, he genuinely began to like her and became attracted to her. That could explain his hot/cold and caring/enraged flashes.
He thinks that he should hate her for whatever happened in his past that somehow involves her, but he continues to forget and wants her and is falling for her. In return, he gets pissed off with himself and punishes and lashes out at her because of his conflicting feelings and thoughts.
There was an instant attraction, on Lilly's part, so her being able to still be attracted and want him at times isn't hat hard to understand. Jeremy is her only company, for the most part, so she's growing closer at times when she lets her guard down.
I'm really hoping something comes out that will make him not such a monster, like most of the readers have deemed him to be. I have not given up hope on him yet. Yes he's been cruel and done horrible things that he's going to have to deal with and find a way to get forgiveness from Lilly.
We've already seen Lilly falling and giving in to the draw he has on her when he's caring and gentle. But, I think that in the end, he's going to be the one begging.....for forgiveness and understanding because he won't be able to handle losing her. I think his resolve is deteriorating and he's falling hard and fast and doesn't know how to handle it.
I really want to learn where their paths originally crossed and what was done to him that caused so much hatred and animosity that he felt that manipulating her life and trapping her into this contract and doing these things to her would be justified in some way.
I have not given up on Jeremy Stonehart yet and have not labeled him a monster yet. He changed his name to separate himself from his father and family. He wants people to think he's hard and cruel. I think there's a man in there still and Lilly's about to break him.
I can't wait for the next installment!
