Brett grew up splitting his adventure appetite between fantasy quests through Tolkien’s vistas and Eastwood standoffs in Sergio Leone westerns. His debut weird western saga, Endless Frontier pulses with reverence for flawed protagonists, supernatural showdowns, and mystical science magic. A scholar of political theory during his academic studies, Brett chose to apply his knowledge of statecraft to his woldbuilding.

An avid RPG gamer and comic book collector, Brett brings captivating women leads, amphibious races, and a magic system based on wireless electricity powered by charge crystals. With an endless frontier to explore, Brett looks to expand tales of high-voltage rivalry and unlikely alliances. His happy place is in the mountains with a cup of coffee on the table and his cat, Raven, on his lap.

This was a lot of fun! I really liked the shifting perspectives, which isn’t something I’m always a fan of. Also, each member of the crew felt different and specialized with their own skills and what they bring to the table. I especially liked the combat medic. I feel like getting more about him would be great.
I also like that while they are clearly thieves, I felt like they had redeeming qualities. Made them more 3 dimensional, which I loved.
This is a really fun read, and it’s a great length for a novella. I’d definitely recommend it.

Whether you're a returning fan, or a new voyager into the world of Endless Frontier, "The Cold Brook Job" is an excellent sample of the world Brett Lurie has crafted. Seasoned readers will relish in this side-story of the Moon Shadow Riders and newcomers will be met with a hero-free terrain and unforgettable cast of characters.

From the menacing Breylu Dast to the ever-engaging fan-favorite Lynara, the unforgettable crew come together to form an ensemble of villains worth routing for. Returning readers are rewarded with new layers of development for this team, and new readers will be encouraged to read more about them.

Lurie effortlessly scales the fine line between under and over-selling his world to fresh and refined readers of The Endless Frontier. Thsi short story is a wonderful compendium to the ongoing saga, with welcomed developments that will satisfy any curious party.

This book follows a gang of Raiders in the world of Endless Frontiers. That appear in the other books as well. The writting is fron there perspective and follows them threw the " Cold brook job" very entertaining and a fun read in a whole new reality of humanoids some are like, but not human. Others are not like human at all. But you get a feel for the characters and what they are like. As well as there reasons for tgis lifestyle.

This novella is a wonderful read. It is a good introduction to the “Endless Frontier” series.

Brett Lorie has blended The Old West with Steampunk, and myths.
You have action, comic, and more action.
This is a good introduction to the characters you will meet again.
The writing is crisp, descriptive, and well-paced.

I eagerly await the next book.
