I have been writing fiction for more than twelve years. It has been an exciting journey for this math-loving-dyslexic girl. I had read less than a handful of novels by the time I graduated from college and I thought I would end up in the field of science or math. But God had other plans and I wouldn't trade this journey for anything. As someone told me once, God's plans may not be easy, and they may not always make sense but they are never boring.

In addition to my writing, I also work for My Book Therapy as a special project project manager and write for LearnHowToWriteAnNovel.com and you can find me blogging over there on occasion.

When I am not writing or working, I spend time with my amazing husband. We have been married for fifteen wonderful years and have three sweet children. In my free time, I love coffee, rock hounding with my husband and kids, and distracting myself from housework.

This is book three of my new favourite series!

Books don’t normally affect me emotionally, but this series hits me emotionally every time. I’ve read many second-chance romance novels, but the authors in this series have nailed the emotional depth and deep connection between the main characters like no others have.

Fallon James and Cole Scott have had their share of past trauma when they meet back in Heritage, Michigan, almost 14 years later. Their experiences have shaped them, and they are ready for change.

I loved the reminders about checking to see who is serving whom, about God’s good future despite the ugliness of the world, and about the danger of running with our own agenda, BUT, I will always remember this book for what it taught me about (1) grief and (2) redeemed mistakes.

If you haven’t heard of this series, please consider checking it out. I read the first three books through Kindle Unlimited and was hooked. I'd suggest reading them in order.

ARC Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fallon James lost everything when her husband unexpectedly passed away. With nothing to her name she returned home. Expecting to find her parents and the tree farm she grew up on thriving, she was shocked to discover both are in total disarray.

Cole Scott never imagined he would be a single father working multiple dead end jobs just to put a roof over their heads. After his wife abandoned him, their two children, and left them with tons of debt, the future looks bleak.

Will these once childhood best friends lean on one another in their time of need, or will the past stand in their way once more?

Christmas with You by Tari Faris is the third book in the Home to Heritage series. This is a unique series in that Tari partnered with two other authors to bring more stories from the beloved town of Heritage, Michigan. The town was first referenced in Faris’ Restoring Heritage series and served as the setting for three full length novels and four novellas. While both series do contain character cross overs, they are written as standalone stories and can be enjoyed either as a whole or on their own.

My mind is blown each time I pick up a book by Faris. Not only does her storytelling get better and better with each book she releases, but it is as if she wrote them specifically for me! Though my circumstances are very different from those of the characters, the dialogue speaks directly to me. You bet I highlighted several quotes throughout the book so that I could refer to them in the future when I am in need of wisdom and sage advice.

As a Christian I cannot praise this book enough. I highly recommend it anyone looking for a holiday read this year. Not only does it speak Truth about the meaning of Christmas, it is a beautiful love story that will keep you entertained.

Special thanks to Sunrise Publishing and Tari Faris for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved Cole and Fallon, and the kids were realistically portrayed (which doesn’t always happen).

Through Fallon and Cole readers get the heartwarming story about sweet Little Susie en silent Zane who we met in book one and appeared throughout the series.

This story was charming, funny at times and also deep and raw! Especially the scenes where the children were faced with the abandonment of their mother.

Fallon learned to not always judge by face value but to look deeper (a lesson I sometimes still learn on a daily basis) and Cole was just the best father to his kids and created some funny scenes with the “Cole for Christmas” thread.

Readers who love Christmas stories will enjoy their time spend between these pages.

This was a wonderful story about brokenness, messy lives, second chances, learning not to judge at face value, secrets, redemption, and restoration. Both characters have baggage and pain from their past, but both have lessons to learn such as being completely honest. The author weaves spiritual truths into this story. Even though some may think it's a light Christmas read, it's not. The characters feel realistic, and the storyline is raw and powerful.

A heart-warming, touching holiday read!

This was the story I didn’t know I needed. Ever since we first met Susie and Zane in “You’re the Reason”, I’ve been curious about them. But I never imagined the beautiful, redemptive, second-chance-story-with-the-one-who-got-away that would be Cole and Fallon. It was satisfying in so many ways, and not just romantically (Fallon was perfect for the kids too). I loved every minute!

Highlightables:

- The lovely little town of Heritage. I just love the people, the history, the sense of community, and neighborly duty, not to mention Otis.
- The love and support of family. It was so beautifully done in this book.
- The Christmas Tree Farm and the ambience (and that they were able to bring it back). Hallmark-esque!
- The updates we got on the other couples in the series: Seth and Grace, David and Sadie. (And the friendships and little couple-community they formed.)
- The lessons of faith. The powerful message of putting your trust FULLY in God.

Notable Quotables:

- It was as if all the sharing had cracked the wall that had stood between them all these years. But neither had a plan for what it would mean if it finally came down.
- “There is a time for peace and there is a time for honesty. And with God, He always wants your honesty. God can handle your honesty. In fact, He can’t work in our hearts until we are fully honest.
- She stared at the half-finished painting again. Maybe her story wasn’t a failure. Maybe her story was just unfinished.
- And just like that, she could see it. There was nothing she could do—nothing she could say—to make her Heavenly Father stop loving her. And just like Zane, she didn’t always understand why He didn’t respond the way she expected, but His love was never changing. But unlike an imperfect earthly father who didn’t answer [the phone] for who knew why, God’s wisdom was beyond what she could understand, and she had to trust He had a plan even when He didn’t answer.

See what I mean? This book has a powerful message. And the fact that it takes place at Christmas, is just tinsel on the tree.

And yes, even though I nearly threw my book out the window a few times (TIFFANY!!!!!) it was all part of the (emotional) journey to this family’s HEA. And the end result was worth it: tons of growth, a beautiful redemption, and the guarantee of future happiness.

Thank you, Tari, for this story of love over adversity. God turns ashes to beauty when we let Him, and it was so wonderful to be reminded.

For anyone out there contemplating this series, it’s an emotional ride, but a very fulfilling one. I highly recommend this entire series, you’ll be so glad you made your way Home to Heritage!

Book: Christmas With You
Series: Book 3 in the Home to Heritage series
Author: Tari Faris
Rating: 5/5

There are books that you read, and there are books that just stay with you after you read. This is one of those books that will stay with you even after you’ve read it. The message of love and forgiveness and faith and hope is so powerful and so expertly woven into the story, you won’t be able to put the story down. You literally will laugh and cry and yell at the characters. However, the beautiful story between the two broken main characters is a perfect reminder of how much God loves us as a Father. I love books that incorporate children because it brings a new depth to the story. I absolutely did not want to stop reading the story and this one might be my favorite of the series. I’ve read all of the stories now in this series and they do not disappoint. The author does not pull her punches, but delivers a powerful story of learning to trust and let go of control.

Highly recommend this heartwarming Christmas story full of second chances and forgiveness!

My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

It is always fun to return to Heritage Michigan to see who is in town and what Otis has gotten up to. This time, a widow, Fallon, returns when everything she has suddenly disappears. Then to run into Cole was the last straw. She sees him as irresponsible after marrying her nemesis and joining the Navy. Some best friend! Cole is trying so hard to raise two kids- giving up a lucrative security job so they can have some sort of stability.
This was a heartwarming story, filled with family drama, a tale of moving on and growing in Grace.
Fallon was reeling from circumstances, but determined to help her parents. Cole is a standup guy who needs to show Fallon he has changed
The characters wormed their way into my heart. The story was complex, but provided lessons in humility, responsibility, forgiveness and reconciliation. All in the quaint, small town I go back to time and again.

This wonderful Christmas book is filled with all sorts of second chance possibilities, including faith redemption.

Fallon James arrives back at her family's Christmas tree farm in Heritage. She has lost everything, including faith in her own artistic abilities. When she learns her parents are in danger of losing their tree farm, she is even further devastated. Now for the cherry on top, she learns that Cole Scott is back in town. Cole broke Fallon's heart many years ago.

Both Fallon and Cole are going to have to put aside their personal differences because they both need each other.

This book made my heart soar as I saw lives changed through trusting in God, faith in others and learning that they cannot control everything in their lives. My favorite quote was, "Redeemed mistakes can lead to something more than beautiful than perfection." Well this book was pretty darn close to perfection.

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Any story on a Christmas Tree Farm has to be magical, right?

Well, this one was no exception!

I have really enjoyed this Home to Heritage series from Sunrise and I thought a Christmas story was the perfect way to round off the trilogy.

Fallon and Cole intrigued me right off the bat with their history as friends and their mutual feelings for each other. I loved seeing the two of them find their footing in each other's lives again and then see them building that into the relationship both of them always wanted.

I also loved the fact that we got to know Zane better too! After meeting him in the first book of this trilogy, I was definitely curious about the moody teenager, and seeing his family's story makes me like him even more than I already did.

Overall, I loved this return to Heritage. The Christmas magic was just right and this story was a beautifully written love letter to the town, these characters and also to God. I really connect with both Fallon and Cole's journey to truly trusting God. Tari wrote it beautifully and I really want to read her original series now!

You will love returning to Heritage with widow Fallon James. When Fallon's wealthy husband dies she learns that he has left no provisions for her. Penniless, she returns home to Heritage and her parents' Christmas tree farm to discover that her parents have the farm for sale because it is losing money and they are no longer able to do the upkeep!

Fallon's high school crush, Cole Scott, has also returned to Heritage as a divorced father of two children. I loved how Fallon and Cole teamed up to return the farm to it's former glory in exchange for babysitting duties. Cole becomes the star attraction when a video is posted on social media asking who wants "coal" in their stocking for Christmas. You won't want to miss this heartwarming story of love, second chances and setting priorities. I highly recommend Christmas With You! It will put you in the mood for Christmas and love! I received an advance e-book of Christmas With You from the authors. This is my honest opinion.

Christmas With You is an emotional tale of broken hearts and damaged trust that takes place during the weeks before Christmas. I loved Fallon and Cole's journey to a new beginning and Fallon's realization that her perceived hopes and dreams weren't what she had been longing for! Author Tari Faris shares a heartwarming story of forgiveness, renewal, and letting go but there is also a powerful message of faith! Isn't this what Christmas should truly be?

"We need a little Christmas now!" These words in the popular Christmas song were running through my mind as I read this book. I needed to spend Christmas in Heritage, Michigan, where townspeople are supportive, second chances are given, and love and happiness are possible! I recommend Christmas With You to all enjoy contemporary Christian romance.

I received a complimentary digital copy from the author and Sunrise Publishing, but I also purchased a copy. There was no obligation for a positive review.

This Christmas read is a heartwarming story of overcoming adversity, brokenness, and finding second chances and redemption—perfect for getting into the holiday spirit! Though it took a few chapters to draw me in, once it did, I couldn’t put it down. After losing everything when her husband unexpectedly passed away, Fallon returns to her hometown of Heritage, Michigan, only to find a “For Sale” sign on her family’s beloved Christmas tree farm. Cole, once her childhood best friend, is now a single father working tirelessly to provide for his kids. Their rekindled connection grows slowly and sweetly as they both confront their past struggles and rediscover what they mean to each other. I especially adored Cole’s kids, whose real and raw experiences added depth to the story, making moments of redemption feel all the more powerful. This heartfelt, sometimes emotional read beautifully captures the journey of healing and love.

My thoughts:   Christmas With you there's a sweet  Christian romance set in an area of Michigan I am very familiar with. I enjoyed getting reconnected with some of the former characters in this series and getting to know to new ones in this story.  I liked how Cole was quick to step in and take care of others. He was a sweet guy. Fallon took me a while to connect to. She is bossy and kind of rude. But characters meshed well, and I eventually was able to connect with both. I never saw the black moment coming. In fact, I thought it was there a lot earlier than normal and then a second black moment, both of which I anticipated and then the third one which came out of the dark and slammed into me. Definitely love the story. I was giving a copy for you and all opinions are my own.

Twists & turns

Fallon returns home, defeated after her husband died & his father & brother cheated her out of her inheritance & took her copyright for her art work. Enter Cole, high school boyfriend and husband to her old high school enemy, Tiffany. Her parents are about to lose their Christmas tree farm, which has fallen into disrepair due to poor sales & neglect. Turns out, Tiffany is the former wife, preferring a shack up situation to marriage & motherhood to the two children she birthed. Cole & Fallon have a hard time trusting. They each turn to God, whom they've neglected. The transformation is interesting to observe. God works in mysterious ways & on his own timetable. A good way to start my Christmas binge reading!

Fallon James has returned to Heritage after she has lost everything important and dear to her heart. Cole Scott is back too with his two children Zane and Susie of whom he has full custody because their mother, Tiffany isn't reliable.

Fallon always liked Cole but didn't believe she was in his league. Cole always liked Fallon but Tiffany came along and things never happened with Fallon the way he would've liked years ago. But now it seems they have a fighting chance if they can get all their ducks in order and that means trusting in each other and most of all, God.

Christmas with You was my favourite of this series, and I liked all of them but the Christmas trees and one particular former Navy SEAL pushed it to the top!

Christmas With You

What a wonderful book! Fallon and Cole had been childhood best friends with unknown crushes of each other. A disagreement between the two with Cole ending up married to her arch nemesis kept the harsh feelings alive and well for many years. When Fallon returns home after the death of her husband and having everything stripped from her by her in-laws to find her childhood home for sale and seeing Cole using her parents as baby sitters causes even more friction. But when she realizes he is helping her parents an agreement is made to swap her taking care of the children while he helps her make improvements to the farm and a truce is made. Will they be able to work together without losing their hearts?

This is the third Home to Heritage book. You don’t have to have read the first two, but it does help to at least have read Here With Me, as several of the characters in that one show up here. This book is set at Christmas time, so makes a good Christmas read – snow, Christmas trees, Christmas ornaments, presents all included.

Both main characters have to learn a lot about trusting God and each other before they can move forward in many ways. The plot twists kept me up reading way too late – I *had* to know what happened! I sure hope there are more books set in Heritage coming in the future!

Christmas with You by Tari Faris and Susan May Warren was the perfect read. Full of romance and complexity, this book kept getting better and better with each chapter. I loved the depth of character, the themes of restoration and trust, and the compelling storyline. Each element worked together to capture my undivided attention.

I have long been a fan of Tari Faris’ Heritage series, and Christmas with You only makes it better. This book is well worth the read!

Christmas With You by Tari Faris and Susan May Warren is book 3 in the Home to Heritage series. This Christmas themed book is the perfect holiday read. I usually pick a new Christmas book to read every year and this one is the best I have read in years. I loved this second chance romance that comes with a lot of twists. Readers of sweet romance will find so much to love about this book. I could not love it more! I received a digital copy of this book from the author with no obligations. Coming home to Heritage is like reading a Hallmark story especially since this one is set at Christmas time and at a Christmas tree farm. There are a lot of misunderstandings and judgmental attitudes when Fallon and Cole meet again for the first time after high school. Both of them are back in town to rebuild their lives. A true story of faith, redemption, and forgiveness. Filled with humor, inspiration, family moments, Otis, the return of regular characters from Heritage, a very heartwarming story. I know this isn't a real town but if it was it would be so fun to visit.

I’ve been loving Heritage and this book was no exception. Cole and Fallon had some of the best chemistry out of any couples in this series. They started out more like enemies, which I loved.

Knocked this down to 4 stars because of the pacing. I needed the “enemies” portion to last a bit longer and to have some more conflict and tension between Fallon and Cole.

I understand these books are more wholesome but I prefer a slow burn as opposed to reading about a happy couple. I feel the first kiss and word “love” was thrown too early, making it lose some of its excitement.

The Sweetest Yet

Every book in the Home to Heritage series gets better and better! I loved this Christmas second chance romance. Cole might be my favorite hero yet, and Fallon is his perfect match. I love stories with flawed characters who lean on God’s grace. The message of redemption, trust, and second chances in Christmas With You is perfect for the holidays and all year. Put this one on your shelf now!

I started the book already attached to the town of Heritage and rooting for Fallen and Cole. Christmas with You left me with all the feels, joy bursting out of my heart and while being sad to leave Heritage for now. I can’t wait for another book or series to take me back to Heritage to find out what’s been happening with all the “friends” I’ve made along the way.

Cole, a hunky ex-Navy SEAL struggling with his new role as single father, and Fallon, a young widow on a downward slide to losing all she’s ever loved, reconnect in their sweet hometown of Heritage. This was one of the sweetest romances I’ve read in a while, with one of the best endings! I love returning to Heritage where you never know when Otis the brass hippo will turn up!

A Christmas wedding story

I found several things to highlight as I read this Christmas story. Trust comes hard if you have been hurt by others. Marriage takes work. Life throws lots of curveball. But you can trust God with it all.
I hope you enjoy this story and Merry Christmas.

3.5⭐️s. I thought the writing was good and the storyline kept my attention. I really liked Cole and the kids a ton, but disliked Fallon. So often she acted self centered and flighty, and was usually so awful to Cole when quite often, the poor guy couldn’t catch a break.
