This collection is dark, steamy, a little bit twisted and woven in amongst it all romance and love. The characters are strong and resilient coming alive through the pages. A very good old forbidden romance collection.

The Breaking Belles series was oh so GOOD!  I read them as 6 separate books and look now!  All of them are together in one huge volume!  I absolutely loved, loved, loved this series.

This is a seriously dark series so if you have TW’s make sure to check them out. 

 I love dark stories, and these books more than met all my expectations.  

#1 Elegant Sins

I absolutely loved reading Elegant Sins by Alta Hensley and Stasia Black. I haven’t read many books by Stasia Black but I have read a fair amount from her co-author Alta Hensley. These women wrote seamlessly together.

Montgomery Kingston is the first one to be initiated into The Order of the Silver Ghost, a secret society. And Grace Magnolia Morgan is the first Belle to get an invitation that could change her life forever. Montgomery is the next generation to be initiated. He has reached the ripe old age of 25.

The Initiation lasts for 109 days and if both Montgomery and Grace can go all the way to the end then Montgomery will get the family business and Grace will have enough money to make it in the world without having to struggle as she has been.

Of course, this isn’t easy money for either of them and they will have to do things that are perverse, deviant and depraved.

Montgomery practically grew up on the steps of Oleander Manor, the place where The Order of the Silver Ghost members are. And, he had an idea of what to expect. Although not everything that will happen is something he knows about. And Grace has very little knowledge. Other than it will change her life if she can make it through all of the Initiation.

As I said earlier that I loved reading this book and didn’t want to see it end. Yes, there is an HEA and another book Beautiful Lies is to come out. As far as I am concerned it can't get here soon enough! This was a 5 star read for me.

#2 Beautiful Lies 

Beautiful Lies is the second book in Breaking Belles. This book can easily be read as a standalone. This time it is Mr. Sullivan “Sully” Vandoren and Portia Collins story.

They have their reasons for subjecting themselves to the secret society The Order of the Silver Ghost initiations to become a member. They have to complete challenges over 109 days. Let me tell you the challenges will try each one of them and may possibly break them. If the man passes all the initiation he will become a member. If the girl passes the Initiation she will be given what she asked for that could and should change her life.

This is a dark story of debauchery, perversion and deviant tasks that Sully and Portia have to perform. Becoming a member of this secret society certainly isn’t easy.

I loved reading the Beautiful Lies! This book was even better than Elegant Sins. And I thought that book was great!

I am very happy to know there will be more to this series soon. The next book in the series will be Rafe Jackson’s story. Another book that I can’t wait to see what these 2 authors can come up with. 5 STARS

#3 Opulent Obsession

Opulent Obsession I am so very much loving this series. This is from the Breaking Belles Series and is book 3. This time it is Mr. Rafe Jackson and Fallon Perry’s story.

The invite is out for Rafe into the Secret Society - The Order of the Silver Ghost. It isn’t supposed to be Rafe’s turn after all, it is supposed to be his brother Timothy’s turn but with his brother dead it means that Rafe is the one that will go in Timothy’s stead.

Once the initiate passes all the tasks that are put forth. He gets to inherit the family business and become a member into the secret society and she gets whatever she has asked for.

Rafe has grown up with Fallon in fact she was his best friend when growing up. Fallon moved away to go to college. Rafe has no idea why Fallon just moved away without any notice. (He will find out). Now she is home.

Mama H. (Mrs. Hawthorne) informs Fallon that it is her right to be one of the Belles to be chosen by the initiate into this secret society. Rafe sees Fallon but doesn’t want to choose her and put her through all that they have to do together for Rafe to get into this secret society. She ends up getting chosen for him.

Opulent Obsession is a dark romance and has some non con things happen so if this is a trigger proceed with caution.

Oh and why the spiders???? Ugh! It gave me the heebie-jeebies, just saying…. Of course it was meant to, I know.

These story’s just keep getting better and I can’t wait to see what else these two authors can come up with next. All I know is that it will be a story of debauchery, perversion and deviant!

#4 Inherited Malice

Inherited Malice: A Dark Secret Society Romance is the 4th book in the Breaking Belles Series. You could read each of these books as standalones but there is so much that you would be missing. The Breaking Belles Series is so deliciously dark!

Ms. Abilene West and Beau Radcliffe’s have been invited to attend. If Beau makes it through all the challenges he will be inducted into the secret society and become in charge of the family business. If Abilene makes it through she is granted her wish.

Now these challenges are meant to push limits & boundaries. Because nothing in life is free. The secret society members are pretty kinky. Although I felt they were tamer in this book compared to the other books in this series. Or I have become kinkier and just felt that this was tamer. Haha!

#5 Delicate Revenge 

Delicate Revenge: A Dark Secret Society Romance and is the fifth book in Breaking Belles Series.

Emmett Washington isn’t the usual blue blood that is being initiated into The Order of The Silver Ghost. Bellamy Carmichael is the woman that he has chosen to be his “belle”. She isn’t like the usual girls that are from the “wrong side of the tracks”. Bellamy comes from money, but she has a huge secret.

This is a dark story along with the other books and I am positive it will have triggers for some, so beware.

The Society is full of old kinky men and their sons are being initiated into The Society. This isn't about the kinky side of these men. The challenges that these initiates and their belles can be dangerous as well as kinky. But if the initiate and their belle stay in until the end of 109 days, The initiate becomes a member of The Society, and their belle gets a boat load of money or whatever they wish for.

I have really enjoyed reading this book and the series and I can’t wait until the final book, Lavish Corruption and Walker st. Claire’s Story. We will have to wait until 2022 for it. Fortunately, each of these books can be read as standalones.

#6 Lavish Corruption

Lavish Corruption is the 6th and final book in the Breaking Belles Series. This book and series have been full of old kinky men that thrive in The Order of the Silver Ghost. It is a secret society and full of perversion and debauchery.

This is a rite of passage and if these young men can pass the initiation of 109 days, they will become a member of the secret society and the family business will then become the initiates business and their belle will get whatever they wish for.

This is Walker St. Claire and Jasmine VanDoren’s story.
Walker has political ambitions, and he needs a girl that is pure as snow and not one of the belles. He quickly changes his mind.

Jasmine sneaks into the Oleander (where the Order of the Silver Ghost meet). She certainly gets what she never bargained for. She is not supposed to be one of the belles but she got caught sneaking into the Oleander.

BTW Sully from Book #2 Beautiful Lies is Jasmine’s brother.

This is a very hawt book and same for the other books in this series. I am sad that this is the last book in the Breaking Belles series. Stasia Black and Alta Hensley co-wrote this series. I hope they get back together and write another series because this one has been sooo good.

You can easily read each of the books in the Breaking Belles series as standalones. But if you want to read these dark and sexy stories and get the full story then you need to go back and read the other books in the series.

If you love dark stories full of triggers, debauchery and perversion this is the series for you!

Wow, this box set was definitely dark and spicy!
Each of the books followed the same basic plot but the characters, backstory, and progression of the story were different which that it didn't feel too repetitive to read all 6. By the third story, there's less focus on the trials (some are skipped and only mentioned in passing) and I felt a bit more focus on the relationships. Each book really got my heart thumping and me flipping pages as fast as I could read to find out what happens! The last book was a really good conclusion to the series. If you're wondering if the initiates are able to affect change in the Society, stick it out and I think you'll be pleased by the very end!
Most of the stories had either a misunderstanding trope or lack of communication trope, which isn't my favorite.
While the trials were harsh and many were very messed up, they also had a way of stripping aside the characters' desires and pride to get to the person underneath.
Heads up, the fourth story is a classic BDSM and has some FF action.
Trigger warning for a lot of dub-con, and a bit of non-con in the last book, there were honestly a ton of others I could list but I think that's the main one that could be an issue other than the BDSM.

I absolutely loved this series!
Instant attraction and a strong pull to each other sets the pace for a deprived and scandalous game, in which there is secrets and lies but also passion and some really hot scenes.
Fabulous series with amazing characters. I experienced the ups and downs, the highs and lows, the darkness and lightness while reading this spectacular series!

This book is an investment in time but well worth it. It is six stories in one revolving around and old southern rich man's tradition of earning their membership in the Order and taking over the family business from their father by requiring them to "break a belle" over the course of 109 days. the trial the Initiate and their belle endure are not only sick but twisted and dangerous to the belle, not the Initiate. The belles are chosen from desperate girls and are promised a reward of their choosing for completing the 109 days and the trials. Over the years the trials have gotten worse and more dangerous.

In the first book, Elegant Sins, Montgomery works as a team with belle, Grace. He acts a a gentlemen and becomes disenchanted when his bell, Grace, is physically harmed. Supposedly these men are so powerful, they can get away with anything. Of course, at the end, Grace only wants Montgomery. She should have taken the money from those rotten men.

In Beautiful Lies, Sully was written as a the jackass until his belle, Portia, was hunted like a fox complete with dogs. At that point he tried to help his belle by hiding a note from a "previous belle" since he had been such a jackass, he didn't think the belle would believe him. Again, how do these jerks get away with this without a NDA. Also the trials seem more for the belles than the guys. They aren't the ones getting buried, strangled, branded, hunted and frozen in ice cold lake water. It would also help, if the belles would actually talk to the Initiates about their reasons instead letting them think they are gold diggers and whores. Portia has an excellent reason to be there and go through this madness. Sully doesn't want to be there at all. They also have a HEA.

In Opulent Obsession, Beau and pregnant foster child Abilene wants her child to have a better life. This one has less dangerous trials but include clit piercing, nipple clamping until they try to basically suffocate her. Beau gets his friend Montgomery and Rafe and his father(who is not an elder) to help with free Abilene. During this story is the first time they talk of rumors of belles who disappeared and “might “ have died and been buried. Again, Abilene's dishonesty causes them problems.

In Inherited Malice, destitute society girl Bellamy allows her mother to talk her into becoming a belle so she can get a rich husband. Of course, she keeps all her problems a secret. Emmett is new money not generational wealth. The two had gone to high school together and Bellamy shot Emmett down, hence the title inherited malice. BDSM is introduced for the first time including a contract. Can a contract with a safe word that means you are kicked out have an actual safe word? She almost dies in the "hunt" by going in the lake and almost drowning as a poor swimmer. Emmett saves her and stands up for her which means a lot to her. The Elders finally choose a trial that shows some semblance of intelligence and wisdom: Truth or Dare where Bellamy has to tell Emmett she asked for him to marry her as her prize. Of course, he doesn't give her the opportunity to explain why. Their last trial the next night is auctioning off Bellamy in sexual ways and finally her hand in marriage. After previously being sat down with his friends at the Elders behest, Emmett does outbid everyone and the final bid is on her marriage. HEA

Still don’t understand how breaking the belles make the Initiates worthy. How putting their life at risk and physically harming them so they can “save” them is??? Again maybe some belles have died??? It is just apparently a load of fun for the psychopath "Elders" and member.

In Delicate Revenge, childhood friends Rafe and illegitimate Fallon sea parades by his mother are partnered in the trials. Rafe is the spare; his older brother died so he has to participate to keep the family business. If these couples need to talked and were honest so much trouble could be avoided. But then the stories would lack conflict. Evidently the Elders do their research because spiders were a trial. They ended up having to knock Fallon out because she became so hysterical. There is a surprise in story in this one so the trials end a little early and there is a HEA.

The final story is Lavish Corruption. Walker has political aspirations to follow his father who is an Elder. Jasmine, Sully's sister, is basically kidnapped towards the end of the trials when Sully's belle disappears. The elders insist Jasmine take over the role of belle if she wants to actually get her company at the end. She has two truly horrific trials where she almost dies. And Walker's dad seems thrilled by this. It is during this story that the direction begins to move toward the Members of the Order finally getting their true desserts.

This story is well written and a cringeworthy. The characters are interesting and different in every story with strong heroines and strong heroes. The villains are quite awful so rooting for their downfall is continuous throughout the story. The author truly draws you into this world. It is frightening to think anyone can have that much power. Of course that is why it is fiction (I hope). Well worth the time investment to read.

What an Introduction to the Series!!

A secret society. The Trials of Initiation when you turn twenty-five. Success means you inherit your family business. A matching “belle” is required. A young lady from poor circumstances who will be subject to any and all dominance for 109 days. Her reward is of her choosing.

The goal is to break you. Grace had everything stolen by her ex, leaving tons of debt. Her dreams can only be achieved by taking this risk. Everything is a test. Fortunately for Grace, Montgomery Kingston is looking for a partner to make it through these three months.

Depraved actions, where men rule, tattoos and pets, each challenge more dire than the one before. Raw and gritty, yet an underlying determination and ultimate caring which may or may not allow this couple to survive until the end.

***** Beautiful Lies
A Different Outlook!!

Same secret society, the next set of initiation trials. Sully doesn’t even want the family business, but his sister does. Despite Montgmery’s advice, he sees this challenge as war. Portia has three sisters to support. To say “no” would relegate them to continued poverty. We have more conflict between this couple between events. Portia wants to get outside but cannot even leave the room without Sully. Sparks fly!

A drunken lout, a red collar, and finally an accord. A foxhunt, a note, a cellar and a cave. If one drops, they both fail. A life-or-death situation (actually a few, one inside the trial, one outside) and a true test for this couple. This series continues to keep you fascinated and unable to look away.

Second Best!!

Oh my. As we get the background on Rafe, my heart hurts. His brother Timothy was the intended heir, Rafe always aware and reminded he was the “spare”. Tim is killed, and his room is left as a shrine, comparisons leave Rafe a far second, and the trial is “for Tim”. Yikes.

Fallon was best friends with Rafe as a kid. Her mom was a housekeeper for his mom (the dragon lady). Rafe breaks her heart years prior, and during the belle choosing. The elders match them regardless. More Yikes.

Lots of push and pull between this couple as each version of their history is revealed. The trials of Initiations are still fierce. Family secrets, revelations, your worst nightmare, and spirits of the past. Deep down feelings here.

***** Inherited Malice
A Faux Belle!!

This starts with a bang, as the “belle” knows our man of the hour Beau and arranges to be among those for possible selection. A level of complexity and competition before the Trials even begin.

Beau doesn’t date, and when in a transaction will not kiss. Everything must stay black and white. Of course, the Trials change everyone.
You will find bare diamond waltzing, the reason behind our belle stalking Beau, tattoos, and a replacement for the brand. High tension, exciting and sizzling.

***** Delicate Revenge
Thrown Under the Bus!

Bellamy was raised as a southern belle with the parental intent to marry well. When family finances decline, she is sent to Oleander Manor as a “belle”. Initiate Emmett is astonished and needs to take control. He creates a 24 X 7 power exchange contract.

The trials are tough, but the idle time between adds even more tension. Her hopes that Emmett is different are soon dashed. Another scintillating episode of trials, hunts, and life decisions.

***** Lavish Corruption
Dark, Gritty and Fascinating!

I’m not sure how I missed the prior stories in this series (Read outside the series initially) – but having jumped into the finale, I was never lost and was immediately pulled into the story. A secret society exists that requires initiation and obedience in return for success in business and political endeavors. Unfortunately, if you decline, they will actively ruin you.

We meet Walker as he is nearing the end of his trial. Many times, the person you are paired with ends up being your match. But Walker has no long-term plans with his “belle” Cindy. When an “accident” occurs and Cindy is not seen again, he starts to ask questions. Something dark is going on, yet asking questions is dangerous.

An “innocent” is pulled into the game after snooping and matched with Walker for the remainder of his trial. Events and questions escalate as these two are now struggling to stay alive. Dark and steamy, heed those warnings. But if you regularly read these authors, you know what steamy darkness is to be found within!

A deliciously dark steamy boxset worth 5+ stars
-Elegant Sins - Montgomery’s time has come for his initiation into the Order of the Silver Ghost where he must choose his belle to make it through the challenges over 109 days. Upon successful completion, he will take over his father’s position in their company who he has no respect for. Grace is just getting by from her waitress job and her ex leaving her with bad credit when she receives an invitation to the Trials of Initiation. Grace accepts the challenge as a way to start a new life! From the moment that Montgomery sees Grace, he knows she is his belle. Montgomery rules Grace during each challenge, yet he is very inaccessible to her during their private time. Through thick and thin, they work together to win their end game. But maybe they discover along the way, that their prizes aren’t what they really want the most. Intrigue rules throughout the story and you will be rooting for Montgomery and Grace and Boo-ing at Montgomery’s father. I can wait for the next book in the series!
-Beautiful Lies - I loved the reason why Sully is going through the Trials of Initiation for the Order of the Silver Ghost, but absolutely hated Sully’s approach to it and his reasoning behind his chosen Belle, Portia. Unlike the 1st book in the series, where you knew why the Belle was doing this, Portia’s prize remains secret. At each trial, the chemistry between Sully and Portia cements to reveal the strengths needed to make it to the next trial. I was in absolute tears at the end when it seemingly all falls apart and Sully makes the ultimate gesture! So looking forward to Rafe’s story!
-Opulent Obsession - I loved how Rafe and Fallon’s past starts their future, because I learned to expect the unexpected in this book! Rafe and Fallon’s struggle over how their friendship ended years ago right after Rafe’s brother died, plays at the heart of keeping them apart as they go through the trials together. Yet Rafe’s words seems to make a debacle of things as the trials continue, until Fallon’s careless response to the latest trial brings out the man in Rafe! Add in some interesting plot twists and I couldn’t put this book down until I turned the last page! I can’t wait for Beau’s story!
-Inherited Malice - The intensity between Beau and Connie will have you churning up the pages. I was intrigued how Connie secured her Order of the Silver Ghost ticket for Beau’s Trials. But from the start of Beau’s trials, the two challenged one another with different goals in mind. Yet as Connie’s secrets start to unfold, she pushes Beau to meet their common end goal. How will it all end is anyone’s guess but the authors pull it off stupendously!
-Delicate Revenge - I feel for Bellamy, a Darlington blueblood who has hid her home situation since Darlington Prep and knew of Emmett’s crush on her back then though squashed it like a bug. Emmett’s about winning his initiation to the Order of the Silver Ghost with flying colors, and selects Bellamy for his own reason dating back to Darlington Prep. What follows is some intense steam, and passion until the Trial where Bellamy’s secret is revealed. What will Emmett do with this information? You’ll have to read to find out and will be praying for Emmett and Bellamy to have their happily ever after!
-Lavish Corruption - I don’t know if I wanted this series to end! I wanted to hate Walker’s nonchalance over his belle, but quickly threw that away for his intrigue over his friend’s little sister showing up at one of the events. Jasmine is tired of having her mother overlook her as a woman who can run the family business in light of her brother giving up his right in a previous story in this series. But when Walker and Jasmine combine forces to finish Walker’s initiation, it’s one high tense moment to the next. You’ll be rooting for the two to win against the Order. OMG, the ending is epic!

Her ex had done number on her by cleaning out all her money from her account so she was desperate and with that incentive of never having to worry about money again naturally she jumped on the opportunity.

Elegant Sins is a wonderfully written story about an elite secret society called The Order of the Silver Ghost. Montgomery is to be initiated into the order and if he completes the 109 days then he will get the family business. Grace is a struggling waitress who accepts an invitation to attend the trials of initiation and if she completes the 109 days she wins a lot of money. This is an intriguing story that had me captivated and on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end.
Beautiful Lies:
Beautiful Lies is book two of the Breaking Belles series and is about an elite secret society called The Order of the Silver Ghost. Sully is to be initiated into the order and he must complete the three months of trials in order to become one of them. Portia is the belle he picks to endure the three months alongside him. Portia and Sully are strong characters who go through a lot and by the end, they have an intense connection. This is a dark and intense story that just like book one captivated me and had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
Opulent Obsession:
Opulent Obsession is book three of the Breaking Belles series and in this book we get Rafe and Fallon's story. Rafe is about to be initiated into the elite secret society called The Order of the Silver Ghost and Fallon is one of the belles. Rafe and Fallon have a past so when he sees her he knows she's the one he wants to endure the three months of trials alongside him. This is a dark, captivating, and steamy story with well developed characters and unexpected twists that held my attention from beginning to end. I didn't put it down until the last page.
Inherited Malice:
Inherited Malice is book four of the Breaking Belles series and in this book we get Beau and Abilene/Connie's story. Beau is about to be initiated into the elite secret society called The Order of the Silver Ghost and Connie is one of the belles. Beau and Connie have great chemistry and I loved how great they were together. This is a dark, steamy, and captivating story with great characters and unexpected twists that pulled me into the story and held my attention from the first page until the last.

Walker and Jasmine's story is the sixth and final book in the Breaking Belles series and what a dark and gritty story it is. Walker started the trials and was determined not to fall in love with his Belle as his friends did. And it was working until after two Belles didn't work out his final Belle turns out to be Jasmine his best friend's little sister. These two had me completely captivated and with every twist and turn along the way I couldn't read this book fast enough. From the drama and danger to the passion and the intriguing characters, this is the perfect end to this deliciously twisted series.

Montgomery must complete his initiation to join the cub and Grace is the key, he must prove his worth in 109 days, Grace is desperate to turn her life around and the invitation offers her that chance but can they survive the 109 days? well written retelling take on Cinderella with twists steamy scenes, desires and more.

Beautiful Lies- In order for Sully to succeed in taking over his fathers company he must complete the societies rues, that's where Portia comes in. 109 days separate them from their goals but can they work together? well written engaging steamy, desire filled and more!

Opulent Obsession-Rafe and Fallon grew up as friends theirs souls connected like no other, though they have different destiny's, until tragedy strikes putting Rafe in high position in The Order of the Silver Ghost. Years go by and times have changed for the both of them and Rafes in for a surprise when the initiate of The Order of the Silver Ghost to pick a new belle, and Fallon is among the Belles. will Rafe choose the woman who never left his heart? can Fallon over look the boy who broke her heart is now a man with power and the means to look after her? they face many trials that bring up a lot of the past thats best left alone but will they be able to over come the odds for a HEA? this is a well written read with an intriguing story line that keeps you engaged through out. the characters stories have you in an emotional roller coaster ride.


inherited malice - beue is about to meet his bell only they have met before, connie hasnt had it easy and to make it as a bell shes had to lie her way through but will it all unravel?

delicate revenge- Emmett thought his 109 day initiation would be a breeze until Bellamy is one of the Belles he can choose, they have a past and shes richer than he is right? Bellamy and her mother fall on hard times and she keeps this from Emmett, he cant not choose Bellamy the woman he has loved for years but why does she push him away? well written engaging, steamy, slower paced than the rest in the series but packed full of emotions.

lavish corruption -Sneaking into the societies party was meant to be a way for Jasmine to get close to Walker, if only she knew his reasons for putting distance between them, when events lead her to becoming his Belle, where will it leave Walkers loyalty. Well written steamy, brothers best friend, desires and more.

My favorite couple was Rafe and Fallon—their shared history and journey of healing were captivating. I also loved Sully and Portia; her selflessness and the way Sully transformed when he finally saw her worth were heartwarming. Beau and Abilene were another standout. Abilene’s fiery attitude and her well-guarded secret made her character unforgettable.

If you enjoy dark and depraved romances with a happy ending, you’ll find these stories compelling and impossible to put down.

Awesomesauce with a side of kinky

LOVED IT! Read it in an evening, couldn't put it down. Really looking forward to the rest of the series. Good characters. You gotta love beating the bad guy and having your HEA too. Avid Stasia fan, new to Alta, but this was a good melding of the minds. Plays in the darkness, but isn't too dark, for those of you who are unsure. Now where's my invitation.......

Seriously enjoyed this instalment, read it in an evening, couldn't put it down, didn't want to put it down. This was definitely more of a take charge instalment. Again, another twist, a different ending. Abs fabs ladies, roll on book 4.

I didn't think I could be surprised, but I was wrong. Again, Stasia and Alta made this story uniquely its own. Could not put it down, so I didn't, read it straight through this evening. AND that teaser at the end, well, I was already eager for the next book, now? I have no patience at all. Superb addition to this series.


Delicate Revenge

Rushed, but still full of sexy times
This one seemed a little rushed, but it still contain all the kinky, sexy times that this series is renowned for. You also still get a good measure of the characters, just the book seemed over and done with very quickly. It'll be interesting to see where the last book takes us, especially given the spoiler at the end of this one.

What a fitting ending!

I couldn't think of a more fitting ending than this. No spoilers, but a perfect combination of forces for good. Poor Mrs H! All comes out and if you thought there was depravity and you'd seen it all, think again. Glad that good triumphs over evil.

12 main characters, 6 men who must win their trials so that they may enter into a prestigious secret order part of their esteemed heritage, along 6 Belles chosen marked to be broken.
Each of their trials is depraved! Some are dangerous. Only the strong and worthy succeed.
Elegant Sin Montgomery and Graves’s story is one of convenience, connection and chemistry. They have a plan that will benefit both of them but they will be challenged in the most salacious ways.
Beautiful Lies is Sully and Portia’s volatile, dangerous and passionate story. Together these two face outside challenges beyond the incredibly intense and eye opening ones of the trials.
Opulent Obsession is Rafe and Fallon’s heartbreaking love lost story. As Fallon takes her rightful place as a Belle and Rafe is only invited early due his brothers death, both of these characters have to face their past to have a future.
Inherited Malice Beau and Abby’s story is filled with need, desire and control. These characters are certainly inviting and alluring.
Delicate Revenge is Emmett and Bellamy’s is a you weren’t nice to me in the past and I’m going to teach you a very naughty, sinful lesson. Emmett may not be blueblood like the other men in these trials but he will show Bellamy that she not only needs him now but that she craves him
Lavish Corruption is Walker and Jasmine’s story. What happens when you sneak into a place where you never should’ve entered? Jasmine certainly finds out in the most cardinal, lustful and intense way.
Every one of these stories is dark, highly sensual and kinky. They definitely test limits and boundaries for many of the initiates and the Belles . Power and money is the true force behind this society and as each story unravels the men you learn to hate finally get what the so very deserve.

If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to secret societies and their twisted rites of passage, think again. This collection of six novels plunges you into a world where brutal initiation rituals push the limits of human endurance. The trials are brutal and demanding, each more shocking than the last, but the initiates must pass these tests in order to take up the mantle of their family fortunes. Yet, while the stakes are high for the men involved, the belles’ reasons for participation are much more diverse and not always clear from the start, though they have one thing in common – desperation - and the promise of a reward if they make it to the end. Interestingly, it felt as if the trials were designed to punish the belles, or at least put them at risk. Whether that was to get the initiates to rescue them or just to tickle the funny bone of the elders is unclear. And while the trials were hard to witness, what I found most disturbing was the idea that there was a society that could get away with this sort of thing. There’s even some suggestion that not all participants (i.e. belles) survived to tell the tale. With six full-length novels, this collection takes a while to read and I suggest that it may be wiser to pace yourself and not read them in one go like me. By the time I reached the final book, Lavish Corruption, I felt like I had run the gauntlet. Yet, despite the dark journey, the promise of a happy ending remains—though it’s a hard-won victory that leaves you both satisfied and shaken. If you decide to dive in, brace yourself; these novels don’t hold back.

"I wish I could treat you with the respect I would if we weren't locked away in this house."

Understand this from the beginning, every book in this series is dark, and I mean very dark. It's even in the title, Dark Rites. And the original name of the series was Breaking the Belles so that should clue you into the fact that the women, or Belles, are going to be subject to a lot of bad stuff.

The first story, Elegant Sins, is where the basics of the rites are explained and we meet the six recruits of the Order. Each of their stories is told in their own book. I'm not going to include any details about each book as plenty of others have already done that. Instead I'm going to discuss the series as a whole.

As I said before, these are very dark stories. If you need any list of triggers you should really just avoid the entire series. It would almost be easier to list what triggers aren't included. Yes, these are still romance books and yes, they each have a hea, but none are easy or without a lot of angst and suspense. Each couple's hea is hard won.

I loved having all six books together in this box set since I hadn't read any of them before. I will admit, I took a break between a couple because they were pretty intense, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them all. I did. They were fantastic and I recommend them for anyone who loves these kinds of dark and delicious stories. Stacia and Alta are truly gifted writers and this series is a great example of why their books are so successful.

Dark Rites packs a punch. This set of six dark romances takes you on a journey through a very twisted male society—think of something like a gentleman’s club for the elite and powerful with an interest in some very unusual pursuits. These involve young women called Belles, each of whom is paired with a potential member for a series of increasingly risky sensual challenges. If they succeed, then the women earn whatever they were promised by the society and the men earn membership in the organization, with all the power and prestige that brings. But if they don’t, they could lose everything…including each other.

One great thing that Hensley and Black created in this series is a strong connecting thread based on the couples’ varied reactions to the society and the effects those reactions have on it. Some want to work to reform it; some want to break it from within; some want to escape it altogether. Seeing this overarching story unfold kept me invested in these books.

A note for those considering this compendium: these stories are not for the faint of heart. So please consider that when looking at this and respect the warnings. If you can work with that, you’re in for a total ride with Dark Rites.

Wow…nice…real dark and nice!! All stories revolve around friends and their choices to gain admission to the secret society they grew up knowing their fathers were apart of. The depraved acts open up the spice to sizzling levels while the fear factor is also knocked up in some cases to have you clutching your pearls! (pun intended 😜) All the stories held a different level of both with enough backstory woven throughout to keep you entertained. But still with different aspects throughout the stories plots to keep you ok with the same essential storyline about the manor and the reason for being there. Loved how the belles stayed strong embracing their sexuality anger and power! Liked the series ending but wish maybe just a bit in how it all came together to work out but hey it just makes me delve into what I know about the characters more. And walkers dad..completely spun me! I thought he was better than how he sometimes came across! Loved it!! But hey if you like things not always being as they seem, crazy spice that pushes your exhibition boundaries and dark themes..this set is your next read! Let me know if you read it what you think!.

The Breaking Belles Saga

This is a compilation of all of the Breaking Belles books. The books are about a secret society that forces the sons of members to earn their place by "breaking a belle" which is putting a woman through sexual trials for several weeks. If the couple makes it through, the man gets his place in the society and the woman gets whatever she wants. Each book focuses on one couple.

The stories are incredibly well written. The setting, plot and characters are compelling and suck you right into the story. I found that each character had their own "voice" which made each story feel different even though the general plotline of a trial scenario remained the same.

These books are VERY dark. There are so many triggers that I would check the authors' websites for full lists. There is extremely explicit content. Each book is a standalone with an overlying plot throughout which is concluded in the last book.

I really like all of the main characters in the books, especially the women. They were all so strong that I just couldn't help rooting for them. That's what helped me get through some of the darker moments that I found disturbing to read. This book won't be for everyone, but if you like dark reads, this is exceptionally well done.

There’s drama, angst, suspense, and steam through each story, but there’s hope, love, and relationships too!

I enjoyed reading this series: it’s maddening, thrilling, scary, heartbreaking, and powerful as each man and woman fights for their dreams against a backdrop of misogyny and old norms. I loved the character, the bonds, and the truth that overcame and triumphed over those ideals.

You can read but as this was lengthy I just wanted to say a quick don't waste your time with this book the plot was WEAK at best and I felt did a disservice to the people who enjoy BDSM and alternative sexuality choices. It basically is about a group of old men who let their power go to their head just stupid and NOT entertaining.

To say this is dark is very far fetched. I am in book one with Grace and Montgomery he had to have sex with her bent over the bed with the others watching for maybe ten minutes. He got head under the dinner table, she had to lay still while the group ate sushi from her she had chop sticks put in her by his father. She had sex with monty in an orgy another ten min but there was a scene where she was put in the gallows and he took a caning to keep her from suffocating that was dark but the only true dark thing in her oh and she took a strapping and anal sex maybe 30 min. This is all so pretty damn vanilla yet the dramatic monologues of him and her like this is all such torture is hilarious.,especially given she is asking for ten million dollars. The auction a bit audacious but given he could have been allowing her to be manhandled by all. This was a cutsie love story nothing really dark about this at all just words pretending it was and the big build up to it makes it a comedy of sorts. This is light fluff of reading nothing more. Sometimes I look for light fluff and enjoy it but I don't appreciate being duped.

okay read the second book the twist in finding out what she was playing for a nice touch the rest of the story with Sully just being so mad was off putting not enough background of family to really explain his anger. As in the first story only one really harrowing event. We are still no closer to understanding the Reason or how this club changed for it origins.

Third story Rafe/Fallon did not like either one of these two she so angry acting like it was everyone fault for her life. He more like a broken boy these two just did not do it for me and did not enjoy the story at all.

Fourth story Beau and fake abielene grossed me out from the beginning she is a scheming tart. This story ends with the whole HEA which at this point seems really like a hoax

Fifth Emmett and Bellamy -- come on i am so bored with all this I am speed reading wanting this to be over.,

sixth and final Walker/ jasmine well a bit of a twist but I really feel like this book did nothing but try and cast Shame on alternative life styles and am so sorry I read this -- this book is not somthing I would encourage anyone to read.

Such a fun, dark romance series!

A not-so-secret secret society, young and handsome initiates, strong and sassy belles, some seriously whacked out hazing, questionable parenting, and questions, lots of questions!

I recommend you check your triggers on this one. It gets dark in places and each book gets a bit darker, but each one ends up with a HEA.

How about this? I didn't have a favorite! I loved that each couple went through a trial and yet each one was different. I loved the guys development through the stories as they began to question their traditions and found unexpected loves. I loved the ending. I really loved the ending.

I loved the whole series together and went through them relatively quickly. I read a few of these when the series first came out, but I have to say, reading it all like this made each story that much better.

First of all, thank you for allowing me to review your book. This was an absolute phenomenal series. I loved the mystery of each Southern Gentleman's Rite of passage with his Belle. After reading the book I am left wanting more. I definitely believe there needs to be an anthology of these characters.

Oh, what fun it would be to have a Belle BFF. I want to see a tattoo, a branding, or hear about the piercing they had to endure. Did they get to keep any of the fancy shoes, clothes, or jewels they wore, that is if they endured any of the trials?

The Author did an incredible job of developing each character and making each trial his own. Thank you for such a wonderful rich and spicy book.

Rich, powerful men. A secret society in the south. Young women from the wrong side of the tracks. Throw in debauchery, highly distasteful and disturbing rituals and you get Dark Rites.
I don’t have a problem with dark, debauched, or even disturbed. However, there was a formula type of feel in this book. Young rich man wants to inherit from daddy. Daddy is a dirty old man. Young woman has dreams but is a prisoner of her circumstances. Invitation issued to her. Dark, disturbed sexual situations ensue. Cue the next story with new names and similar situations.
After reading Grace and Montgomery’s story, all the others felt a bit repetitive. There were some minor differences, but again, there was a formulaic quality to them after reading the first story.

Story of Emmett and Bellamy started high school. They have been on opposite side of the track.
She is a belle ,he was a poor boy now billionaire.
Is the old money are as good a new one ? The elders of blue blood of the secret society said , they are. Money are money and Emmet does have more than any of them.

exceptional

I have to say, I never write reviews. I thought this collection was going to be like a lot of others and it was actually anything but. I won’t add any spoilers but I must say it had a je ne sais quoi about it. Has a certain charm and exquisiteness about it and I also enjoyed the writing style. I would definitely recommend this, especially if you enjoy books that contain deep rooted spice, a plot that travels throughout and creates a unique storyline which creates twists and intrigue, although it’s not for the faint hearted. I mean that in the politest way possible. Thumbs up to the authors, as I said I never write reviews but this was genuinely a good read. It’s long but it being in sections makes it all the better. If this was a few films I would watch them :)

Perfectly Dark Collection
Elegant Sins: she was having a crap day... okay a crap life. Then she has a moment to put some silver lining in her dark cloud. Montgomery the power prince, is all about to get what's his after the breaking of the Belle.

Beautiful lies: to survive 100+ days in the hands of a ghost. Portia and Skully has goals to reach them, they need to come together.

Opulent Obsession: my fav I think. It's about stepping in and being at the top of the food chain for Rafe. Then its Fallon, will their past friendship be a benefit or a lost?

So much talent! The men, the ladies all broken in varying degrees. The game of power and surviving. Very much glad I grabbed this will definitely be on my reread list. Enjoy

I have previously read these books, and I found it intriguing to have them consolidated into one volume. The narratives explore the challenges faced by each character, as well as the experiences of the individuals involved. The themes presented can certainly be considered intense in nature, with the inclusion of a safe word; however, utilizing it results in significant consequences, including the potential loss of everything. The conclusion of the final book was particularly poignant for one character. If you appreciate complex narratives that navigate the nuances between good and bad, I believe you will find this book engaging.
