Mama Didn't Raise Me

Rate this book
Jamila Tillman did not ask to be here. She did not ask for a selfish mother who cared more about a government check than she did her own daughter. All Jamila wants is to grow up in a loving family environment surrounded by people who truly loved and cared about her but her mother Symone did not care about Jamila’s wants.

Jamila has the opportunity to receive all the love and care in the world from her uncle Mikel and her grandmother but Symone refuses to let anybody stop her checks from rolling in. Not caring that her daughter is only twelve-years old, Symone devises a plan to destroy any chances

Bravo!!

This was a awesome read, Heartbreaking and emotional. I can't imagine a mother treating her child the way symone treated jamila. I'm glad she had a strong family that supported her. It's sad but kids do get treated like that. Great 5 star read and I recommend you get this book.

I enjoyed this book

I truly enjoyed this book. Jamila really got the short end of the stick when it came to Symone being her mother. It’s sad all Jamila had to go through dealing with the treatment she received. I’m glad her Uncle Mikel stepped in to raise Jamila and even more Glad that Jamila was able to meet her dad that she was told didn’t want her. Jason definitely stepped up to the plate when he found out about Jamila. I’m glad she was strong enough to survive and make something of herself.

All Jamila Tillman wanted was a life as a normal child but ended up with the mother from hell. Dealing with a mother who only wants to see her suffer & use her as a check,Jamila dreams of being with the people that love her most her grandma and uncle. When the time come for her to be happy will her mother grant her happiness or continue to destroy her life?

Wow this story really pulls at your heart strings.I was drawn in by the character story and couldn't close the book until I completed the story.I love that i had a connection to the story and it also had good drama. This is my first read by this author and i enjoyed it. Good Job!!!!

Such a good read

This book was so sad but at the end she grew up to be a better woman then her mother ever could. Her uncle and aunt was such a inspiration we need more people like them. And her father was a stand up guy because he never knew about her,but when he found out about her he stepped up and played a big part in her life. I'm just glad she ended up with such a good husband and now she has kids of her own. And I also want to give the grandmother her props for helping raise her and being there.

Good

I struggled slightly reading this book but not because it was bad. It was mainly because I didn't understand having a hatred that deep for a young child. I'm glad Symone overcame her obstacles and had others who truly loved her. Forgiveness....sometimes hard to do, but extremely necessary.

Great book

I only gave it four stars because of the spelling errors. Other than that, it was a great book that was hard for me to put down. Jamila turned out to be a great mother and young lady after all she endured. I greatly recommend this book.

Loved it

This was a great heartfelt book. Symone was a mean vindictive mother who didn't deserve the blessing of having a child. Thank goodness Jamila had her Uncle Mykle and her grandmother. Danielle Grant did a great job bringing this story to life. I would recommend this book.

as you read this book you'll understand that despite the challenges and obstacles we face in our lives, if we have God, a loving family and a good support system we can overcome any obstacles the devil tries to use against us.
