May you enjoy your stay & your attempted escape of Billionaire Island.
Molly thought her life couldn’t sink any lower after being brutally dumped from a reality TV show. But when New York’s most elusive and dangerously handsome tech billionaire, Henry Bentley, sweeps her off her feet. Molly's heartbreak is replaced by a tantalizing thrill she never saw coming.
Bonded by past traumas and wild, unspeakable desires, Henry invites Molly to his private island—an exclusive paradise where pleasure knows no limits. But when she arrives, she finds herself tangled in a seductive game of survival. A game that's a hell of a lot more dangerous and deadly than reality TV.
Henry’s island is more than a billionaire’s playground—it’s a seductive trap with no escape.

Billionaire Island had an intriguing premise that drew me in from the start. Molly, a relatable protagonist, meets the enigmatic Henry, a billionaire tech genius who is shy, kind, and clearly smitten with her. When Molly admits to needing a vacation, Henry invites her to his private island, setting the stage for what promises to be an enticing escape.
However, the pacing felt sluggish in the first half of the book. While Henry's respectful demeanor is charming, the story meanders, leaving me craving more action. It isn’t until about the 50% mark that things take a turn when Molly encounters someone from her past who reveals unsettling truths about Henry and the island. This twist is intriguing, yet Molly’s initial disbelief, compounded by the islanders vouching for Henry, created a tension that took time to build.
Around the 64% mark, an unexpected accident injects some much-needed urgency into the narrative. The subtle hints that all is not as it seems begin to surface, particularly around the 85% mark, when the deeper layers of mystery unfold. Unfortunately, the story ends on a cliffhanger, which left me feeling a mix of curiosity and frustration.
Overall, while the latter half of the book was more engaging, I found the slow start challenging to push through. The spice level was mild, and with the story told solely from Molly's perspective, we miss out on Henry's inner thoughts, which could have added depth to his character. Billionaire Island had its moments, but it didn’t fully captivate me as I had hoped.

Thank you to BookSprout for the ARC to review this book.
I had high hopes going into this one, Billionaire Islands cover and synopsis sounded right up my alley, but unfortunately there was too many inconsistencies for me to give it higher than a 3.
I agree with another reviewer that the writing style felt fragmented, like it was written by two different people, or edited into two different voices. I found myself skimming over the page long paragraphs with my eyes glazing over instead of wanting to devour every detail. You can tell very clearly when the writing style switches.
The story has promise, who doesn’t love to be loved and obsessed over by a billionaire!? Who doesn’t want to be whisked off to their private island? Though I really don’t think this book needed to have a cliffhanger or even be stretched to 2 books. A lot of the bulk could have been trimmed to create a cohesive story with an ending. We learned everything there was to know secrets wise from our MMC so I’m not sure what there is left to stretch into another whole book. The book ends on a cliffhanger that implies that our meek FMC has alternative plans for her new boyfriend, but without any build up along the way, it isn’t enough of an arc to leave me waiting to pounce on the next book.
This is an ARC, so I’m not removing any stars for spelling or grammatical errors, but be warned… there are a lot.
I don’t know if the story grabbed me enough to make me want to pick up the next instalment, but I guess we’ll see.
3.5 stars rounded up. This one had me going back and forth. Billionaire Island hooked me right away with the setup, a burnt out heroine, a soft spoken billionaire, and a private island that sounds like the perfect place to lose your stress and maybe your common sense.
Molly and Henry have a cute, gentle chemistry, and the island itself almost feels like a character. Still, the first half moved slower than I expected. I kept waiting for that moment where everything shifts, and it doesn’t hit until about the midpoint. When it does, though, the story finally wakes up. The tension picks up, the past starts creeping in, and the stakes actually feel real.
Once that twist drops and the accident shakes things loose, the book gets much more interesting. The mystery threads tighten, little details start lining up, and you can feel something brewing beneath all the charm. I just wish Henry’s character had gotten more depth, since we only see him through Molly’s lens.
By the time the cliffhanger rolls around, I was fully re-engaged and annoyed that it ended right as things were getting juicy. Even with the slower start, the second half pulled me back in and left me curious about what comes next.
This one had some solid moments and a couple of reveals that genuinely landed. It didn’t fully sweep me away, but the promise is there and I’m open to seeing where book two takes things.
This book is twisted, very dark, suspenseful , and will stay in your head rent free! It’s a story of secrets revealed and a love that questions if Love is enough…the question is “ Will love truly survive the darkest told secrets or will the Love wither and die in this darkness? The story takes place on an Island that is remote and surrounded by eerie tales and unanswered questions. A woman facing the truth about this man she loves deeply yet is Love enough. He reveals his hidden dark truths to her and hopes their love with his honesty will bond them even deeper than before. She needs to face her own darkness and her own dark truths and decide are they really that much different or is it just to much for her to live with. The book is a detailed journey about this couple and it’s very well written . Will they have an HEA? I will have to read book 2 to find out so yes it ends with a delicious cliffhanger ! It deserves the 5 stars I gave it and I’m sure you’ll agree 🖤
I read this as an ARC. I understand that there could be grammatical errors and can overlook those, what I can’t overlook is the areas that contradicted themselves. It was like it was written one way, and the next paragraph was rewritten for a different way. It happened in the beginning of the book when talking about doing a background check on the billionaire, and then about 75% into the book with the scuba diving scene. The idea of the book is good, although VERY long for 3 days. It felt repetitive with trying to drag out conversations, and then the last 30 pages were like, “okay, let’s wrap this up, and skip over this, we can come back to it later”. Then you find out there’s going to be a part 2 to the book later. As much as I’d love to know more since I spent so much time on this, I don’t know if I can push myself through a whole 2nd part.
This was my first book by Olivia Hillier, and while I wish Goodreads allowed half-star ratings (I'd give it 3.5), I did find it intriguing.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. "Billionaire Island" immediately drew me in with its promise of a private island escape and the sweet connection between Molly and the shy billionaire, Henry. Although the first half felt slow-paced, the compelling twist around the 50% mark definitely injected much-needed intrigue. The latter part of the book picked up speed, especially after a surprising accident. Subtle hints of a deeper mystery kept me engaged towards the end. Overall, the slow start made it a bit of a challenge, and the single point of view limited the depth of Henry's character. However, that cliffhanger has absolutely hooked me, and I'm now eager to see what happens in book 2!
I purchased this book on pre-order & have been excited to read it since seeing it hyped up by the author.
I did enjoy this book and found it quite an easy read. I liked the twist halfway through the book, it really drew me in even further and I didn't want to put it down.
I found that the book was a bit slower pace than what I enjoy and did take some time to get into the grunt of it. The spice was low on this book, however it the plot seems to be the main focus which I enjoyed.
This book did frustrate me that it ended on a cliffhanger, as now I need Book 2 and don't have it yet! (watch this space).
All in all, I enjoyed this and will recommend to friends.
Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - You know the saying ‘If things are just too good to be true…?’ The storyline had its higher points when Molly encounters one ominous red flag after another, and Henry’s appeal to Molly becomes even greater during the stay on his private island, as he seemingly is able to anticipate all of Molly’s wants and needs met. By the time I reached the cliffhanger ending, I felt the story had left things a bit too decidedly murky, with her sister Elyse getting the last chapter. I would have loved to have heard the story from Henry’s POV instead of Elyse/Johnathan’s, but perhaps that would have been too revealing?
Henry and Molly both have tragic pasts when kids, but that’s where their similarities pretty much end. Their careers, successes, and realities are quite different, yet they both feel like they were meant to meet and be together. The storyline was great and I kept wanting to know more. However, I didn’t experience any great shock from the confessions made because it was all pretty clear what was going on as the story progressed. That is the only reason I removed a star because I did enjoy reading it and would be interested in checking out more books from this author.

Billionaire Island kept me on the edge of my seat throughout each page! Molly is embarrassed beyond measure being dumped on a reality TV show. Luckily, her luck changes in the next instant when she is whisked away to Henry's private island. Henry is steam upon steam with the filthiest mouth of any MMC, but boy, was it the perfect mix of sexy and seductive. There is still a lot to explore for these characters and this first book really did only scratch the surface, so it will be interesting to see what is next in book 2!
This book was a great blend of mystery and romance with a dreamy island vibe. Henry and Molly keep things spicy and unpredictable with the gorgeous island setting adding to the allure. The ending had me like, "whaaat??" If you're in the mood to escape into a world of luxury with secrets and heartfelt moments, this book is for you!! 4/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2/5🌶🌶 Check tws/cws.

I'm confused about Henry's true nature. One moment he seems sweet and infatuated, while the next he comes off as slightly unhinged and psychotic. On the other hand, Molly appears to be exactly as she seems—just a bit naive and needy.
I'm really invested in their story. Is Henry the villain, or not? Is Molly in danger? Will her sister complicate things further? It's such a fast-paced psychological read, and I can't wait for the next book!
This book had so many grammatical errors and sentence structuring wasn’t good. It gave the air of being a book written by someone whose first language was not English and that it may not have been edited. I was unable to finish this book due to these errors.

Story idea sounds good but to me it's way too slow paced. I got a bit bored of it by 40 % and almost gave up but managed to still finish it in hopes it will get better by the end. The spice level was mild, more talk than action. Ends on cliffhanger which I'm not a big fan, not sure if I will come back to read the next book.
This is an intriguing read as we join Molly and Henry on his private island where all is not as it seems. With Twists and turns, the storyline captivates and the author lures us in with interesting and mysterious world building. It’s definitely a dark romance, that thrills and manipulates and I am intrigued for book two!
I had great hopes for this book, especially with an author I have never read. I admit I had trouble following the story and had to reread several chapters. I felt it slow at the beginning, however it did pick up. I do plan to reread as I want to make a connection to the characters.
This was a great dark romance book. The characters were very easy to follow as well as the story line. It was a very interesting and intriguing book and kept me wanting to turn the page until finished. I read this book in one sitting it was so good. I especially did not see that ending coming.
OMG that cliffhanger! I love the 2 person POV in this book and that it wasnt two lovers. I could not put this down. I spent a lot of time processing but maybe im just tired? I need book 2 asap!.

It was a bit disappointing that nothing really happened? There were a few moments of unhinged excitement but really just way too many pages of an absent-minded FMC looking past VERY obvious red flags.
I loved the unique plot with a great build up to the ending. The whole book was eerie. I had a hard time liking the characters. The FMC was way too oblivious and innocent but that was essential to the story. I can’t wait to see how her character develops in the next book. MMC is a master at gaslight, love bombing, and manipulation so check TW. 4 out of 5 stars.
I went with 3 stars because I went back and forth on this book a lot. It started out great. Then once they got to the island I felt like it was slow moving. Not to mention, Henry repeats himself ALOT. Then the secrets started being revealed and it got weird. The time line made it even weirder. Then the ending just slaps you in the face and I'm like WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!? There was a lot of grammar errors but I did receive an ARC copy so I'm sure those will be fixed. I really wanted to love this book but some parts were just so weird and random.
