About the author

Works of prolific Russian-American writer Isaac Asimov include popular explanations of scientific principles, The Foundation Trilogy (1951-1953), and other volumes of fiction.

Isaac Asimov, a professor of biochemistry, wrote as a highly successful author, best known for his books.

Asimov, professor, generally considered of all time, edited more than five hundred books and ninety thousand letters and postcards. He published in nine of the ten major categories of the Dewey decimal classification but lacked only an entry in the category of philosophy (100).

People widely considered Asimov, a master of the genre alongside Robert Anson Heinlein and Arthur Charles Clarke as the "big three" during his lifetime. He later tied Galactic Empire and the Robot into the same universe as his most famous series to create a unified "future history" for his stories much like those that Heinlein pioneered and Cordwainer Smith and Poul Anderson previously produced. He penned "Nightfall," voted in 1964 as the best short story of all time; many persons still honor this title. He also produced well mysteries, fantasy, and a great quantity of nonfiction. Asimov used Paul French, the pen name, for the Lucky Starr, series of juvenile novels.

Most books of Asimov in a historical way go as far back to a time with possible question or concept at its simplest stage. He often provides and mentions well nationalities, birth, and death dates for persons and etymologies and pronunciation guides for technical terms. Guide to Science, the tripartite set Understanding Physics, and Chronology of Science and Discovery exemplify these books.

Asimov, a long-time member, reluctantly served as vice president of Mensa international and described some members of that organization as "brain-proud and aggressive about their IQs." He took more pleasure as president of the humanist association. The asteroid 5020 Asimov, the magazine Asimov's Science Fiction, an elementary school in Brooklyn in New York, and two different awards honor his name.

قصة قصيرة لطيفة، لا تخلو نهايتها من الفكاهة، يُمكنك أن تلتقط مغزاها من القصة، وأن لم يحدث فمشروح مغزاها بعد نهايتها.

This is a very funny and creative short story from Asimov's collection, especially since it goes in a different direction from his usual themes by approaching literature.
I loved the hilarious exchange, the ending especially.

هو عباقرة الماضي لو تجاوزوا البعد الرابع ( الحاجز الزمني ) حيبقي وضعهم إيه في حاضرنا !؟
تساؤل عبقري طرحه كاتب ادب الخيال العلمي العظيم ( إسحاق عظيموف ) في قصة قصيرة بعنوان ( الشاعر الخالد ) قصة لا تتجاوز الخمس صفحات عبارة عن حوار بين مدرس لغة إنجليزية و عالم فيزياء قاعدين في حانة حيث العالم يدعي قدرته علي استدعاء أرواح و أجساد الموتي من الماضي و منهم العلماء و الأدباء المشهورين لدرجة إنه قام بإستدعاء ( وليام شكسبير ) و ألحقه بفصل دراسي مسائي بيتم فيه تدريس ادب شكسبير نفسه و في الاخر انتهت القصة بمفارقة كوميدية مش ححرقها ليكم بس فعلا تحفة .. القصة مش حتخد منك دقيقتين علي بعض قراءة و لكن حيفضل السؤال المطروح هو عن مدي إمكانية العقول العبقرية للبشر مهما بلغت مدي عبقريتها من الصمود أمام تحديات العصر الحديث هو المحور الأهم في القصة الجميلة دي .

I didn't realize how short this short story was! It's only about two pages long!
It's a great little tale and it will make you think about our perceptions of dead famous people...what if the great scientists, thinkers and writers from the past could be brought to our time to see what we made of their work?
What would Shakespeare think of what we make of his plays?
A thought provoking and funny story.

سمعت أن شارلي شابلن علم بوجود مسابقة لأفضل من يقلده، فاشترك في المسابقة، إلا أنه فوجئ بأنه لم يحصل على المركز الأول، ولا الثالث حتى.
تعد قصة (الشاعر الخالد) بمنزلة إعادة معالجة لنفس الفكرة.

A funny little story that unfortunately makes me think of every Shakespeare class I've ever taken—and most general English classes as well. Alas, poor Shakespeare; I knew him, reader, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. It's almost a shame academia has raked him across the coals so much. Read this story online here.

Sometimes it's fun to read a short story. Asimov doesn't need much to grab me in and let me read with my breath hold until the final resolution. Luckily this one was quick, and so much fun!
Imagine an English literature professor talking to a scientific who can bring anyone back to life. And how crazy it can get :)
I won't spoil it for you but it's short, you should read it. And it's fun!

Collected in Earth Is Room Enough and The Best Science Fiction of Isaac Asimov drunk Physics professor Dr. Welch confides to English Teacher Welch that he can bring back the spirits of the illustrious dead, but most of them couldn't adapt to the times. So he realized he needed and adaptable, universal mind and brought back Shakespeare. The conversation devolves until the immortal final punchline, which is so good I actually laughed out loud.

Muy interesante la idea del cuento, me parece bien llevada acabo y también bastante digerible. El relato es corto (3 páginas) y uno se queda con ganas de explorar un poco más el concepto expuesto. Prefiero no detallarlo porque el hacerlo sería practicamente contarlo, no les tomará más de 10min el leerlo y les puedo casi garantizar que lo encontraran ameno.
