I loved this book couldn't put it down. While at dinner with her father he surprised her with William Howard her new fiance the son of the Senator. When they were left alone to talk she found out what a jerk he really is. While companing for her father in Iowa, the assistant that was suppose to help her was helping William all night long. On her way to the hotel room Jenna was told about a last minute interview, but when she got to the office room she was surprise to see Brandon there waiting for her. After talking to her best friend Mel, Jenna decided to take her advise and tell Daniel how she really feels, but when she told him that she was in love with someone else he became very angry and threatened to kill him.

Review:

Mistaken #3 is the second installment in the Mistaken Series of novella’s that chronicles the journey of heroine Jenna and hero Brandon as they navigate the way they’ve been thrown into each other’s lives and picks up right where the second book left off.

While I enjoyed this book, I have to say that there were parts of this installment that left me coming away with a little less love than I had for the previous two. Nothing that made a huge difference, because a lot of what I liked about the previous two was present here, but enough that I couldn’t rate it exactly as I had before.

What worked for me first was Brandon. He’s worked for me in the previous two books too, and it’s because he’s not perfect, yet he tries so damn hard to be that it’s hard not to like him. Things might not have started on the up and up with him as it pertains to this series, and he’s taken some missteps (he did it again in this installment), but with each passing book he finds a way to thaw out my heart and make me believe that in the end, he’s got the right intentions even if they’re not known right now. He’s complex, yet simple at the same time and wanting to see where he ends up is what makes this work for me.

The pacing again, it was quick, as this is a really short read, but it wasn’t too fast that I feel as though I’m missing anything. It all flowed well and kept me interested.

What I had issues with this time around was Jenna and I really liked her in the previous two stories. I felt as though she was thrown into a life she didn’t want (I still feel that way), but that se would see her way out of it, or at least put things in motion in order to make it happen and with this, it didn’t happen.

What I did see was a whole lot of whining about her life, running from things she needed to face (mainly Daniel and standing up to her father regarding this arranged marriage stuff) and no backbone whatsoever. Which in the first two books I felt she had even though it was buried.

There is a lot of unanswered questions here, there’s something far more sinister going on under the surface and that’s another point for me that keeps me interested even when the main character drives me nuts. I want to know what’s really going on here, how deep this goes and how far reaching, especially with the way it ended.

Daniel came across differently in this book and I have to say, I never imagined he would be the one uttering what he did at the end of this book, but now that he is, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. I suppose I need to keep reading in order to see if this works, but given the way he’s come across up until this point, his change seems a little out of left field, though does pose another problem for both Brandon and Jenna moving forward.

For anyone picking these stories up the same way I am, you’ve been warned, each one of them ends in a cliff hanger fashion, but with how many of them are released, you don’t have to wait long to get your fix, which now that I’ve finished, I need to delve into with book four.

Overall, this book was good, but not quite on par with the first two. So it’s my hope that going into book four that it picks up the momentum of the first two and I can connect with Jenna again because I really do like her and want to see her reach a better ending then the one her family has mapped out for her.

I really want to finish the series, I do. But every time something exciting in the story happens I have to buy new book to find out what's going to happen. While $.99 isn't a lot, it's going to add up if I have to buy 5 more books to get to the end of it.
I think I'll stop reading the series now and wait until I buy an Amazon gift card so I don't feel guilty about buying 5 books in one day after I just bought the first three... In addition to her other series All I Want which was also multiple books.
This is a review so I should probably say that I do like the story and the characters. When you're cramming so much into a novella, you don't get the in-depth story with background on her or on other characters but I still like the series.

Jenna seriously needs to learn to stand up for herself, even against her parents. I really hope she does soon. The plot keeps twisting and turning and Im loving every word of it.

Im loving the mystery and trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Im completely hooked. I just cant put it down. I want to find out whats going to happen next.

Control Freaks All Around!

Is there anyone in Jenna's life that doesn't want to control what she does? Each time she asks a question that they don't want to answer, they make it seem like she is a child and it's not her concern. Everyone drops hints but won't tell her the whole story.
Who is behind it all? That is what I want to know. And when Jenna finds out and it doesn't make her mad, I'm going to reach into my kindle and slap her silly.
I can't wait to start book 4 shortly.
