Yours Hopefully - YA mystery/romance set in the Swiss Alps

Rate this book
A Young Adult novel about love and friendship with a hint of mystery, perfect for fans of Maureen Johnson, Holly Jackson and Karen McManus.

“This was meant to be my summer… but here I was, working at the Boat Hut in Valvert with bird shit on my shoulder, no closer to kissing Callum Davies than I was to getting my editor-in-chief job back.”

After years of pain from endometriosis, 15-year-old Emilia ‘Em’ Chambers is used to writing the life she hopes for instead of the one she has. But this time, she’s gone too far, exposing a popular teacher as a predator… without actual evidence.

Amid the backlash, her mother sends her to Valvert in the Swiss Alps, to work at the lake boat rental owned by the family of her childhood nemesis Ben Weston.

Callum, her crush, continues to ignore her, and Mr Soames, the teacher she accused, seems happily married… But after receiving a coded message and spotting Soames acting weird, she’s convinced she can turn it all around. She hopes.

Join Em, her autistic BFF Izzy, and oldest friend Seb on a heartwarming journey of self-discovery and unexpected romance in the breathtaking Swiss Alps.

I loved this contemporary YA #metoo story set in the Swiss Alps. The characters came alive for me and I cared about them.
It’s also an #enemiestolovers with elements of mystery. The main reveal surprised me! The MC’s endometriosis, contributes to reader understanding of this debilitating condition, and adds to the peril. The ending was truly satisfying. It’s a wholehearted 100% recommend!

I absolutely adore this book. I’m a sucker for an enemies to lovers storyline and this is perfect. The representation for people with disabilities like autism and endometriosis is amazing and the plot is absolutely brilliant. If YA novels are your thing then I cannot recommend this enough! Plus I LOVE the Taylor swift/mystery aspect!!
