This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 5th book in the Deep 8 series. I have read the first four books in this series before picking up this book. I really feel this is a series that needs to be read in order. I had a hard time getting into this book, but once I was pulled into this story I was totally into the story. I really loved the ending of this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Secrets, lies, and deception await the characters and the team that are searching for Deep 8 and the head of the group.

When Roger Bane is called in after his father, an Ambassador, is kidnapped, he'll team up with the least likely to find the man and save him. This story took me through multiple emotions while reading it. I was angry at times, teary eyed at times, and choked up, but it was an awesome book and I'm glad I read it. The groups searching for Deep 8 to take them down and protect the world are working hard and around the clock and world to find those that threaten the world.

I've only read a couple of these books, but I've enjoyed the ones I've read. I do need to go back and read those that I skipped.

Brilliant book! Intricately woven plot. I couldn't put it down.

When Roger's ambassador father is taken, he had to team up with Harlow, the ASIO officer assigned to protect him.

Harlow and Roger were explosive. Their connection just kept building and building even with all the danger, secrets and drama surrounding them. He wanted her but her trust was not strong and she wasn't giving in easily.

So well done on all levels. Characters made the story come alive and a fast paced plot that made this an easy read. I honestly couldn't read fast enough it was that good. Can't believe how great a book it was. So brilliant!!

Wow this book has it all, amazing characters, brilliant plot. Oh the action, twists, deceit, such hot steam. You real want to keep reading to find out what happens next. One hot alpha protective male and one very sexy sassy and strong female, who knows how to push is buttons. Roger and Harlow will pull you in.

This is book five in the series, but I haven't read the previous books. I must say that I had a hard time getting into the book as I really didn't understand all the players or what deep 8 even was. I did become invested further along where I started enjoying Roger and Harlow more. To me, I think I would have had an easier time if I really understood what took place in the previous books.

Although this can be read as a standalone book I personally feel that reading the earlier books in the series first will give the reader a better appreciation of successive books. Roger is a black ops agent whose ambassador father is kidnapped - he joins forces with Harlow, to try and rescue him. As their chemistry burns hotter the storyline also heats up. Well worth reading.

This a fast pace romance with suspense and action that keeps completely captivated until the very end. The story is about a fearless agent, a daring ops agent, mystery, conspiracy, deceit and intrigue. The story is about Roger and Harlow, who have sizzling and super hot chemistry. I love this story and the characters!

I’ve read a couple of the previous Deep 8 stories, and really enjoyed this addition to the series. I find that these stories can easily be read as standalone which is always a bonus in any series.

Intense read that grabs your attention and doesn't let go until the very end. This action packed edge of your seat read had me trying to figure out who was the leader of Deep 8. Harlow and Roger are thrown into dangerous situations trying to find the pieces to rescue his father.

A poorly written story, in my opinion. Full of plot holes, unexplained events, and disjointed scenes. I really struggled to finish it. The pacing of some “action” scenes made no sense. Reading this book was quite exhausting.
