Four friends are about to face major events that will profoundly affect their high school, the big BMX race… and a werewolf terrorizing their hometown.
When a mysterious woman moves into Eckers Bend…so do the killings. Questions arise about her involvement with the beast. Now, the teens must rely on their riding skills, cunning, and knowledge of their home turf to uncover the truth and stop the bloodthirsty creature hunting their neighbors.
Blood Rad Moon is inspired by creature feature horror films and kids on bikes adventures from 1980s cinema, with the pace, action, and loveable characters of The Manning Brothers books.
I’d have given it a 5 star if it had been just a little longer, span it out a little more with some era fillers and a few more “incidents”. But still all-in-all a good read, especially if you watched the movies Rad and Silver Bullet back in the day. I did like the conclusion, but felt like the epilogue was a bit off the mark considering the previous self-awareness (I don’t want to ruin it for future readers). I feel like there could easily be a sequel to this book and hope that there is. I will say too, that the werewolf was well written and the flow of the scenes well detailed to help you not just see but feel the action as it was playing out. Recommend for sure.
