Cozy Mystery, Book 8 Dying for Music (Hypnotic Harmony) Rosi is happy to be hosting an event in the recently renovated auditorium at the Tucson Valley Retirement Community. After a bit of traveling, she’s also happy to settle down and look at homes with Keaton as they’ve decided to take the next step in their relationship and move in together.
First up is showing off the updates to the local media and directors of their competitor retirement communities. Then, the stage will be readied for the performance of The Old West Chamber Orchestra, the last event before the snowbirds go back to their homes across the country for the spring and summer. The eccentric conductor, Vaughn Steven, arrives a day early to assess the accommodations. He brings along his prima donna cats, much to Rosi’s annoyance. But it’s not just cats that come with the arrival of the musicians the next day. Four-legged creatures run amok, but the main event doesn’t involve anything living. Vaughn chose Tucson Valley as the site of the concert because he just knows there will be a murder during the performance. Why? Because murders always happen in Tucson Valley. The books each contain a full, separate murder and can be read out of order, but the character arcs are more fully enjoyed if the books are read in order. "Dying For Music: Hypnotic Harmony (A Tuscan Valley Retirement Community Cozy Mystery #8)" by Marcy Blesy has the retirement community's new high tech auditorium ready to use. With its first performance looming, Rosi finds herself in some personal turmoil as well. Her ex-husband is having a baby with his affair partner turned wife and Rosi is house hunting with her boyfriend. She's experiencing some conflicting feelings and taking them out on others.
The first performance brings in an unconventional chamber orchestra. Plus all their pets and a true crime podcast show. The conductor makes a startling claim that puts everyone on edge. Unfortunately, his claim comes true but not the way he planned. Multiple people end up at the hospital.
Rosi ends up bouncing around hospital rooms asking questions. It really ends up coming down to a lost hedgehog and a good clue to have Rosi cornering the culprit but gets rescued by a parrot. This one blew by, riding a rollercoaster of activity.
Once you've fallen in love with these characters, you can’t help but love all of them!! I'm not just committed because I love them though. They are truly great stories, and I'm always left puzzled with the who did it and why, right up until the end.
Oh my gosh the rollercoaster of emotions this one had! But it all ended up happily ever after as it always does with Rosi’s mysteries. It felt nice to be back in Tucson Valley with the gang. It was just the fun light read I needed to help fight the winter blues.
I loved this one!! It really built up the anticipation for what should have been a simple event. There were even a few heartbreaking moments that had me crying. The ending was so beautifully done and I can’t wait to read the next!
This book had a very interesting plot that kept the reader on their toes! Rosi has a lot of things going on in her personal life and makes life decisions quickly. I liked the new characters added to the series. The reveal at the end was very surprising!
