Hated it. Honestly, I hated everything about it. The direction that the author went with this book I hated. The FMC in her personality was extremely unlikable. She had zero and I mean zero chemistry with her mates. The writing was horrible the feeling that the writing gave you was just horrible. Hated hated hated this book.

Briar traded her freedom to protect the ones she loves.

Now, she's their prisoner.

Briar is locked inside one of the Knights facilities. Here she is nothing more than a test subject – being pocked, prodded, and dissected all for the magic that's in her blood. The Knights want to use her to expand the curse and destroy the bond between the shifters and their animals – one and for all, forever. Briar isn't going to let that happen.

Briar knows that escaping isn't going to be enough. She's surrounded by innocent shifters who are also being held by the Knights. And the Knights are getting ever closer to unraveling everything that makes a shifter who they are.

Briar knows that breaking out is going to be just the beginning.

Briar knows that in order to break this curse, they are going to have to chase down ancient long whispered about myths, unlock a long forgotten magic, and worst of they are going to have to face their enemies who will do anything and everything to win, and they'll stop at nothing to achieve their goals. But Briar has her mates at her side and at her back a band of the most unlikely of allies, and they all know that the final battle is looming ahead of them.

They all know that the only way they are going to be able to end this curse...
is to walk straight into the heart of it.

And they know that this time, not everyone is going to make it out alive.

I love the shifter genre. And I have really enjoyed reading this series. E.L. Finley has written something that has a plot that keeps you on your toes and keeps you guessing what's going to happen next, and I absolutely love books like that.

I love Briar as an FMC. She is so strong, and more than that, she is quick-witted and intelligent, and yet she still has her own flaws that she is always working to get past and accept. You can see how she works to overcome those flaws throughout the series, and you can really see her growth and development, and I feel like in the end, she was right where she was meant to be.

While I did enjoy the development of the MMCs, for the most part, I did have an issue with Xander. For the first two books, he was always either ignoring or snapping at Briar, and you never knew what you were going to get out of him. And then in book 3 you kind of forget about him all together, honestly I feel like this is one relationship that was forgotten about and could have had better development and more time could have been spent on strengthening their bond and creating something that was really very special and just as strong as Briar's other bonds.

Other than that, I really enjoyed this book, and I was really happy with how it ended. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a great shifter series and is looking for something new to read in this genre. I really enjoy E.L. Finley's writing, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Freed Wolfsbane is the gripping conclusion to E.L. Finley’s dark and emotional RH shifter trilogy, and what a ride it’s been. Picking up immediately after the jaw-dropping cliffhanger in book two, we follow Briar—our fierce, loyal, and stubborn FMC—as she faces captivity, betrayal, and ultimately the greatest battle yet to protect not just her mates, but all shifters from the Knights’ horrific plans.

This book pulls no punches. Briar sacrifices herself to protect those she loves and finds herself locked away in one of the Knights’ facilities, treated as nothing more than an experiment. The emotional weight of her imprisonment, especially her bond with a young girl used against her, was heartbreaking. But Briar is not one to give up. With help from her mates and unexpected allies, she breaks free—and takes hundreds of other imprisoned shifters with her. That moment alone made the entire arc worth it.

What I loved:

Briar’s growth. She’s strong, smart, deeply flawed, and yet always evolving. Her character arc throughout the series was satisfying and left her exactly where she was meant to be.

The pace. I was relieved that the rescue happened early (about 20% in). I don’t enjoy long, drawn-out torture plots, and Finley handled this with just enough grit without making it unbearable.

The emotional stakes. This book has both high highs and devastating lows. Not everyone makes it out alive, and you feel every loss.

The found family and tight bond between Briar and her mates, as well as the broader group. They fight together, hurt together, and heal together.

The writing! Finley’s style kept me on my toes—full of mystery, tension, steamy romance, and unexpected twists. She built a world I didn’t want to leave.

A few critiques:

Xander. While the other MMCs felt fleshed out and meaningful, his connection with Briar felt underdeveloped. He was cold and snappy for two books, then basically forgotten in the third. Their relationship lacked the depth and progression the others had.

The resolution with Saint’s corrupt councilman felt like a dropped thread. After being exposed at the end of book two, there was no follow-up—no reckoning, no fallout. It felt like a missed opportunity for political and emotional payoff.

Some of the steamy scenes—particularly Malachi’s punishments—bordered on repetitive. They didn’t always move the plot forward and sometimes felt like filler.

Still, those small flaws didn’t outweigh how much I loved this finale. The series wrapped up beautifully, with a satisfying HEA and a touching bonus scene that made saying goodbye a little easier. Briar got her happy ending. Her mates, her sister, even the little girl she saved—it all felt earned.

If you’re a fan of RH, shifters, action, angst, and steamy romance with heart, this trilogy is a must-read. I’ll be thinking about these characters for a long time, and I can’t wait to see what E.L. Finley gives us next.

Great series ender

I really liked that this was only 3 books in the series.
I think the end tied up a lot of loose ends. It moved incredibly quickly, Briar was rescued from the Knights about 20% into the book so I’m really happy that it wasn’t longer. I Hate stories that have kidnappings, and reading about their torture. I figure if I mention it in a review, others will take the chance at reading it knowing their separation isn’t long. Briar being kidnapped though, allowed the 500 other kidnappees to escape along with her, so I’m glad there was somewhat of a happy ending for them.
We got to read each of the main characters point of views. Most of the time, their thoughts were interesting, and their actions matched their thoughts. They didn’t lie to each other or keep secrets. Although, it confused me as to why Saints coucilman was never brought up again after he was outted kidnapping Briar at the end of the last book. I would have thought, Saint would have put up a big stink or show of power ousting the corrupt councillor to the others on the council. There wasn’t nary a peep. I think that was the only hole that didn’t have some kind of ending. No mention of new council members, or even the corrupt leader dying in a horrific way, which he deserved.
The lead up to the climax of the story, was long, and the actual fight scene was maybe 10-15% of the book, not long enough in my mind. I guessed at the beginning when we read how to break the curse, and the deadly potion that removes magic but kills the user, I knew exactly who would die. It’s discussed, I wonder if others guessed as well or if it was only obvious to me.
The only thing I didn’t like, was how Malachi punished Briar anytime she did something stupid in his eyes. Whether it was purposeful or because she was clumsy. It got to a point where I just skimmed those chapters. It either ended up with spanking her ass red, or edging her to the point she was crazy. I felt like those chapters wouldn’t have made a difference to the story if they weren’t included. It posed no point to the plot of the story, maybe just an excuse to get her all hot and bothered, before slipping her some D. I am really glad she got to save that little girl, and got her home safely to her still alive parents. I am also really glad that they got their happy ending. All of them deserved it, especially Briar and her little sister Ava.

Finders Keepers.

The last book in the trilogy.
A dark RH PNR with shifters and mages.

It picks up right where the cliffhanger left us—and what a cliffhanger it was. I was shouting, “NO! What are you doing?”
But our Briar doesn’t think twice when it comes to putting the well-being of others, especially those she loves, ahead of her own.

So much pain. So many heartbreaking moments.
Throughout the trilogy, we suffer from beginning to end, side by side with our phenomenal FMC—a YA girl full of hilarious sarcasm, insecurities, and a huge heart.

The poor girl always ends up in dangerous situations, whether because of bad luck or her unique abilities, which constantly keeps her mates on edge.

But it’s not all pain, suffering, and struggle. This book is also the steamiest of the trilogy, with a touch of BDSM. Our girl knows what she likes—just like her amazing mates—and they’re more than ready to give her everything she wants. It’s all about her.

So many unknowns. So many secrets.
It’s really like watching an Indiana Jones movie. They have to keep traveling to find the next clue, and each discovery only raises more questions.
But giving up isn’t an option. The knights must be stopped, and the spell must be broken. Will they find a way?

There is a HEA, but not without loss.

E.L. Finley created an incredible world and unforgettable characters. And that bonus scene? Just wonderful.
I had that bittersweet feeling you get when a good book ends, and you're left thinking, “Oh... it’s over,” and “I want more…” And then she gives us a beautiful bonus scene that leaves you with a satisfied smile.

This book has everything a reverse-harem urban fantasy needs: hot guys, romance, sex, action. It’s an enjoyable read with an interesting storyline and diverse characters. There are also some nice twists. However, I have read a lot of books in this genre recently and this one even has the heroine having power she never knew she had, like so many others. I actually groaned when the prophecy was mentioned. Unfortunately it has nothing to make it stand out from the crowd. Like all the others in this genre, the chapters are told from different points of view, but this one leans too heavily toward the main character, defeating the purpose of this writing style.

This is book 3 in the series and I haven’t read the previous ones. I often read series out of order and usually manage to work out what is going on. This one, however, relies too much on the reader having read (and remembered) the previous books. Just a few more lines of explanation spread throughout the book would make a huge difference.

I would recommend this series to fans of this genre, as long as they read the books in order.

Note: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Wolves Hollow University trilogy finale brings emotional closure and finally gives the romance a satisfying emotional resolution, which I appreciated after the long slow-burn buildup. The characters remain the heart of the story, and there’s no denying the depth E. L. Finley gives them. However, by this point, the plot feels extremely stretched.

The themes of trauma and survival are once again at the center—and while that consistency matters, it also made this last book feel a lot like the ones before it. The same emotional beats are repeated, the story progresses in a very linear way, and the tension is low throughout. Spice is still minimal and feels secondary.

If you've grown attached to the characters, this final chapter will give you the closure you want. But overall, the trilogy reads like one long emotional journey that could’ve hit harder with tighter pacing and more nuanced storytelling.

Thrilling Conclusion

We start captured by the Knights knowing they want something from Briar but not knowing what it is. Briar befriends a little girl in the facility and unfortunately the Knights use her against Briar.

Her mates are working tirelessly to find her so they can get her back to safety. With the help of the Mages they are able to free Briar and those held in the Knights facility. Unfortunately that is just the start of what they will have to deal with.

They still need to discover the location of the curse as well as how to end it. Of course it will take everyone working together to find a solution to the problem with the knights.

This story is filled with so many emotions. You will have high moments and some very very low moments. I absolutely loved the story and this was a perfect book to wrap it all up.

A hybrid with both mage and wolf blood.

Her four mates who would do anything for her.

A race to save to save shifters from extinction.

Freed Wolfsbane has everything you could ask for from a supernatural, RH romance. Adventure, epic battles, a race against time, and enough spice to make things hot.

Finley completes her Wolves Hollow University series in a big way with a nonstop race against time. The magical world she creates and the mages and shifters that inhabit it are well written and pull you into the story. The characters that you fell in love with during the first two books will make you love them more, and if you’ve read any of Finley’s other books, you may find a few additions that have an impact on the finale.

If you’re looking for a supernatural romance with nonstop adventure and a thrilling conclusion, the Wolves Hollow University series is one you need to start.

4 star ARC read 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I very much enjoyed this final book in the series. The plot kept my guessing and I was definitely hooked.

Briar was such a strong character and I loved her despite her flaws. I really liked how she developed over the course of the series and I felt she ended up in a really good spot.

I enjoyed the MMCs development but I feel like we got nothing from Xander. He spent the first 2 books ignoring and snapping at Briar and then I kind of forgot about him in book 3. I didn't feel like Briar and Xanders relationship developed or was explored properly.

Apart from that I really enjoyed the book and was satisfied with the ending.

I love a good shifter book!

Loving but heartbreaking

I really enjoyed this read, its not often I can say a story makes me cry but this series had me almost sobbing twice. While the constant disbelief of others and lone ranger kind of got on my nerves I also understood the feelings behind it. Not to mention how it contributed to her overall development. Im so happy she was able to have a full family in the end and a peaceful life with her mates. Only wish there was more with Saint, Sanders, and Bastian. It honestly felt like she was mainly with Kai. Granted he was VERY possessive, which is understanding, but I feel he got more 'screen time' than the others. All around however I loved the book. Thank you so very much for sharing your story with the world!

Rated the first book 3 stars, second book 2 stars, and finally this book a 1 star. This definitely wasn't on purpose, but it really does reflect my honest opinion of this series!!

This series certainly wasn't what I was expecting. It feels as though the quality and plot decreased with each book. Which was disappointing.

I genuinely wish we could've seen more interactions between the main characters. It felt as though they were just thrown together and accepted their fate. And then the plot was just being constantly added to, eventually leaving plot holes throughout the story.

With that being said, it could possibly be improved it just needs more thought and time put in.

This series is the one that introduced me to this author and I fell down the rabbit hole 🥰 I’m sad that it’s over because I love the characters and the story, but it’s very well done! There is a lot of intrigue and action, balanced nicely with emotional devastation 🥲 Everything in Briar’s story is wrapped up, with some avenues left open to explore (as well as some overlap with another series already in progress). I will definitely reread this; it’s a new comfort read! Can’t wait to see what happens next!

“Only time will tell if I’m the reason wolf shifters thrive or if I’m why we all die out.”

Another fun book! This is book three in the Wolves Hollow University series and is the epic conclusion. So much happens in this book that I definitely don’t want to spoil but I did find this one to be more plot focused rather than character growth focused like book two. The survival of the species is at stake and our group races against time to uncover the clues before it’s too late for everyone. Such a great ending to the series!

Entertaining story. It was a page turner and the suspense was captivating. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was so much drama and chaos between these wolf’s and other creatures at the University and it was battle between evil and good. Will the truth come out about the wolves and other creatures in the mixed of the world around them and the danger and powers.
I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones

Christ.

I truly hated how this story panned out. Briar isn't a hero. She's a clueless idiot that stumbles across and along the path she needs to take to end the curse. If it wasn't for Dido, she'd be even more useless. And then Dido sacrifices herself at the end to break the curse so does that mean Briar has no wolf now? Who the heck knows because it's not brought up. Just praise for chick who was supposed to be so powerful and yet had no clue how to use said power "saved the day." No. Just. No.

What a great ending to Briar's series!
I was pulled into the story right away, as it follows right after book 2.
This story is filled with drama, lots of emotions, spice, action, and an epic battle!

I loved Briar. She has been on quite the ride throughout the series. She grew a lot and managed to become an even stronger FMC.
I like each of hers guys too. I do wish we could have gotten a little more between Xander and Briar though.
Overall, I think this was a great conclusion!!

Please! Can we have one series in this genre where the poor heroine isn't kidnapped and tortured for half a book? This trope is so over done and frankly pointless. Even in fantasy fiction no-one ever functions right away after such events. It's just gratuitous torture. So, I basically skipped the entire first half of this book and skimmed the end. Didn't find any redeeming features, so calling it dnf.

Breakout

Briar has been through so much and now needs to find an escape as well as a place. to shut down her enemies' operation. This is the third book of a series, and I will definitely need to go back for more context. It was an action-packed story with an emotionally driven theme. I would definitely recommend reading the prior books first in order to enjoy this one as intended.

I am voluntarily leaving this review.

-why choose
-paranormal romance
-completed series (3 books)
-HEA

This is the third and final book in the series. The series was quite captivating, keeping me engrossed and on the edge of my seat at times. I thoroughly enjoyed the character development, witnessing their personal growth and their evolution as a team. I also appreciated how Briar was supported through her challenges, with her resilience always being believed in.

This is book 3 in the series and while it was a good read I wish that I had read the other books in the series. For the most part I don't feel that I missed much however if I had read the others then the series would've had a much deeper meaning than it did. Would recommend reading from book 1 but it's a good read regardless.

Freed Wolfsbane brings the Wolves Hollow University series to a close. It kicked off right where book 2 ended but now Briar is in the hands of the Knights. A place of torture and abuse which led to a few wth moments for me. All brewing towards some good plot twists, sad parts, steam and a great ending. More so with that glimpse into the future which made for a good addition to this series.

Great series

I’m not a great reviewer. I don’t give a synopsis of a book. But I can tell you that this series was really great. While the love and romance were there all through it, the story was so much more than just that. The action, the plot, and the characters’ reactions to events were what really moved the story. I can’t wait to read others like this.

I didn’t want the story to end. The romance was definitely more subdued but I didn’t mind the only real problem I had was that I feel like all rh should have at least one group scene with all the guys and her together.
