In a realm where being supernatural is all but illegal, Stella Mikers has hidden her supernatural spirit and done it well for over a decade. Up against the wire to produce a piece of hard-hitting journalism to solidify her career and no other ideas, she decides it's time to come out of hiding and embrace what she truly is - a Valkyrie.
She dusts off her wings and goes undercover at Robert Sinclair’s Reformation Academy, the prison alternative that boasts the ability to turn supernaturals into simplynaturals, removing what makes them different and allowing them to better assimilate into society.
But there is something fishy about a vampire who can now be a phlebotomist and a necromancer who works as a mortician. Stella is determined to discover what is going on behind those golden gates and expose the Academy to the realm.
What she didn't expect to find at the Academy were starving vampires who wanted to feed from her feet, a shy cyclops suitemate, or a reaper who is sunshine personified. Even one of her simplynatural professors draws her attention in a way she can't explain. Stella's plan didn't include making friends, but now that she has, she’s dead set on doing whatever it takes to keep them safe.
Robert Sinclair’s Reformation Academy has a dark secret, and it’s up to Stella to uncover it before all of them are reformed.
Reformed is the first book in a planned four book whychoose paranormal romance series, meaning Stella will not have to choose between her love interests. This slow-burn MFMMM book is intended for adult audiences and contains explicit content.
Holly Monroe reluctantly lives in Florida with her husband, two kids, and two rescue pups. She's never met a character she couldn't traumatize, but she always gives them their happily ever afters.
Mehs all around. However, there are a lot of aspects I like. I like how the guys are all attractive in boy-next-door kind of ways, instead of just super hot all the time, always. This book took a really long time for me to complete, and I didn't think I'd pick up the next one, but I am curious to see what the potential baddies want with Stella and who the 5th guy is.
The dedication : " I wrote this book solely because I wanted the opportunity to sexualize a Cyclops." LMAO I LOVE THIS.
Reformed is a reverse-harem set in a world of shifters, mythological, and paranormal beings, within a society that seeks to suppress and control them. Stella, our FMC, is a reporter who comes up with the idea of going undercover at an academy primarily focused on "reforming" supernaturals into "simplynaturals"—those who do not use their powers (aka brainwashing them and stripping away what makes them non-human).
The concept is intriguing, and I really enjoyed how the author approached it. The plot was engaging and well-crafted.
As a reverse-harem, the romance has quite a slow build, which I didn’t mind, but at times it felt a bit too slow for me. That said, the men in Stella’s life are adorable—all of them are absolute sweethearts. She’s much more dominant than what we typically see in the RH genre, but it didn’t feel forced. She’s a badass, embodying exactly what we’d imagine a Valkyrie to be like. However, I would have loved more lore on the different supernatural beings (including Valkyries) to better understand them.
Her love interests aren’t your typical supernatural creatures: we have a stag shifter, a leprechaun, a cyclops, and a death reaper. Their dynamic was so interesting, and Ryan and Clay’s growing friendship was especially sweet.
" I may only have one eye, but even I can see that the female is trouble. I’ve never gotten in trouble before. It could be fun."
Overall, it wasn’t a bad book, but it had a slow start, and I wanted more action as well as deeper plot/lore development. I hope the next installment places a bigger focus on the romance—and brings more spice, because it was definitely lacking!
PS: I did laugh a few times too even though it was not a light book so that's a great point too. I did expect the book to be darker though.
I do not have that many holes. Unless my ears count. Oh my Gods, do my ears count?
I really liked the overall idea of this, and the types of main characters too! Academy tropes do make me a little wary, as they are often focused around enemies/lovers or OW drama and that gets a bit tedious. This didn't have any of that, there's the main hate between authentics/supernaturals but no OTT drama but still some added mystery behind the academy that the FMC is trying to investigate. The FMC is a little more dominant than I normally prefer, but she still came across as well balanced which made her more interesting. It definitely feels like a slow burn as you don't get a lot of focus on all the MMC yet, but I didn't mind that too much as you still get a variety of POV from the MMC and it isn't solely the FMC so you get the chance to get to know the MMCs too. I think the main thing I prefer for a RH is for spicy, and I didn't get a lot of that in this. As it is a slow burn though, I hope it picks up more across the series but I really did enjoy how this introduced the reader to the characters and the world! Whilst the plot line isn't too heavy or dramatic, it still holds interest and some mystery too. Plus the cliff-hanger ending, so I definitely want to continue the series.
I FINALLY finished a book! LOL, and it was so fun!
Reformed is the first book in a series with shifters, mythological, and paranormal beings, in a world that is trying to suppress and control them. Stella, our FMC, works as a reporter and gets the (ok, maybe not the best idea? LOL) to go undercover at the school who is primarily focused on "reforming" the supernaturals into simplynaturals - those who do not use their powers.
Her roommate is the most adorable cyclops ever - Ryan, who is gentle and kind and sweet.
They both befriend Clay, a cinnamon roll of a grim reaper who I adore.
Then there is also Michael - one of her teachers, and a red stag shifter, who recently graduated from the school.
And there is also the mysterious leprechaun, who Stella nicknames Blue due to his hair, since he won't tell her his name.
I love the mythos and backstories we get for all of the supernatural characters, and Stella especially. She discovers there is a LOT more going on than just a reform school, and she also learns a lot more about her Valkyrie history.
I loved the slow burn and build to this one. This is why choose - so all of these men will be important to her and her life. I thought that the friendships and relationships built so well. I really liked how Ryan and Clay were such good friends at the start too. I love all the different personalities and how Stella is with each of then, and I'm excited to read more about them all together.
This book has me hooked - plenty of mystery and danger for our MCs and great chemistry between everyone. The second book cannot come soon enough!
I received an arc and book for a PR instagram tour in exchange for an honest review.
Ya’ll that cliff hanger. I swiped to the next page (read on kindle) and had to do a double take and swipe back because I was not prepared for it to end. The only bad thing about getting the opportunity to read an ARC is waiting even longer for the next book! There was so much going on in this story, but it wasn’t hard to follow. I hated how awful it was for supernaturals, all because they were Authentic (humans). Supernaturals have basically no rights and are very segregated. It’s either prison or the reform academy and the chaos being slowly uncovered is mind boggling. It was awesome reading the different types of supernaturals and what their spirits were. There’s vampires, shapeshifters, sirens, cyclops, reapers, and of course the FMC is a Valkyrie! There’s a little bit of spice but nothing too outlandish and honestly even if it had zero spice the book would have held its own. I wasn’t expecting for the plot to be such a mystery and for Stella to be in the center of it. Book 2 can’t come soon enough!
This completely restored my faith in books. It haven’t found a REAL 5* hitter this year, and after back to back poorly written books, this was the break I needed.
I’m so thankful to be on Holly’s ARC list. What a fun mystery with healthy communicative relationships. This 739 page book FLEW by me because of how well it was written.
This was my first Holly Monroe book outside of her omegaverse and she did not disappoint. It's hard to make a magic academy reverse harem book stand out but the pacing and intrigue with the heroes really sets it apart. This is a really quick read and maybe isn't as "reform school" as people might think but it is amazing.
Stella is a Valkyrie hiding in plain sight, but when she suspects something strange is happening at the Reformation academy, she does her best to find information. What better way to do that than from the inside?
As Stella learns more about this place, she's making friends fast. Clay, the reaper, Ryan, her cyclops suitemate, and Michael, her hot professor. Even the elusive leprechaun seems to be stuck in her orbit, but why is she being drawn to them? Something weird is going on, and she's determined to figure out what it is. She'll need to survive to find answers though.
Holy shit! That was so good. Stella is such a badass Valkyrie! She’s strong, fierce, kind and sassy. The guys are all so different and perfect in their own way - Clay and Ryan and Michael and Mr. “You’ll know my name when it’s time for you to scream it.” (I mean come on! SWOON.)
I’m not gonna go into detail on this review because I don’t wanna spoil anything!! It was so good and that cliffhanger at the end!?! I’m obsessed and I’m sitting on the edge of my seat for book 2!!
This book was awesome!! I got Reformed as an ARC. I had an absolute blast reading it. I loved the characters (except Yuri) – he can eat 💩. I'm excited to get my hands on book 2. I hope this series gets the hype it should. I should note there is spice, but it's not overly spicy, the story line would totally hold up without it. This book was so good. I am not sure what to read next.
Oh My God! I’ve been anticipating this book since I saw the first peeks of it online and it did not disappoint! I mean when the dedication to a book is, “I wrote this book solely because I wanted the opportunity to sexualize a Cyclops” , you know the book is going to be amazing. This book is fantastic and as the authors first foray into paranormal romance they did a wonderful job. The characters are so captivating, the world building and magic system is well thought out. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Ms. Monroe knows how to create a world for readers to crawl into and never want to leave. Yes, we get a cliffhanger, but it is so worth it. Ms. Monroe gives readers so much that we aren't mad about the cliffhanger. Don't get me wrong. We want book 2 as soon as possible, but we were given enough to think about with this book. By the time we analyze everything in this book, it will be time for book 2 to come out. I, for one, cannot wait. I can't get into a lot of this book because I don't want to do any spoilers. Readers need this book revealed to them with nothing to lead the in a particular direction.
This is a slow burn. This first book is really just getting to know the characters. Stella Mikers has applied for a scholarship to Robert Sinclair's Reformation Academy. The Academy turns supernaturals into a more docile group labeled simplynaturals. The supernaturals who graduate from the Academy are accepted by the authenics/humans. They are more likely to live in society after going through the Academy. Currently, there are a lot of rules and laws that supernaturals must abide by. Instead of going to prison, supernaturals can go to the Academy. Stella's reason for applying to the Academy was to write an article about what goes on there. Stella is a Valkyrie and had previously been living in hiding with the authenics. Her parents wanted to protect her. She had to know what the Academy was doing to supernaturals to make them simplynaturals.
We are met with a whole host of characters. Teachers and students. Some students there on scholarship like Stella and some there instead of going to jail. A lot of things get revealed, but there is more to come. Rules are broken that could get Stella sent to jail. She knows she does not want that. I will tell you about her roommate. Ryan is a cyclops. He is big and good looking. It is hard for him to fit in, so he is hoping graduating from the Academy will allow him to be more accepted by the authenics. He is the only one I am going to tell you about because I don't know for sure who is a main character. Mystery is always fun. This journey of discovery will have readers entranced. Book 2 cannot come fast enough. Ms. Monroe did it again.
I absolutely loved this book- the story line and characters are so creative and out of this world- no pun intended! They're unusual and not the usual types of creatures/ people/ shifters you see in every other paranormal book- like I wasn't sure how they would mesh together but Holly did them so much justice!!! this story brought them together into this Reformation academy, all for their own different reasons but in turn, also reasons closer to each other's that draws them together. This book is a very interesting read and I really enjoyed reading this. It is well written, very imaginative and creative, the build up of the world and characters is great, I love the images of the characters in the chapters of their POV, the map of campus and the Vorista realm- creates a sense of imagery and realism, especially when reading you can imagine everything in your mind. There's a little bit of spice which is always good fun ;) but it didn't take away from the story at all! But I'm all for more spice in the next book!!!
It's a struggle to pick a favourite MMC- Ryan the Cyclops is a show stopper, and he's a beautiful and different individual and I'm going to say I found him very swoonworthy! Clay the Reaper is the sweetest and most gentle guy, he's carrying so much on his shoulders and loves his new connected family, but my heart goes out to him and I just want to hug him (all the time). Michael- the deer shifter, I am not sold on him yet- I feel like he has gotten so much from Stella in this book and it's not deserving of him compared to Ryan and Clay. Blue- well the no named leprechaun- so peculiar and different and not someone I was too sure of to start off with but he's grown on me more, and it's so interesting to learn little tid bits of information about him as the book progresses. And the FMC- Stella is a show stopper! She's such a great character, I'm so sad she had to repress her true self and spirit most of her adult life living with the Authentics, and only gets to express her self in this repressive Reformation academy. I'm looking forward to her growing more in the series and hopefully uprooting some more hard truths.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Reformed is the start of a new series for Holly Monroe; the Rift Wars. This is an academy why choose book with Stella a Valkyrie, Ryan a male cyclops, Clay a male reaper, Michael the professor and shifter and a leprechaun called Blue but we do not know his real name; there was no MM. This book does end in a cliffhanger.
Stella’s parents helped her over out on her own 10 years ago at the age of 15 so she could hide the fact she was not “normal” or an Authentic. Those that were not Authentic were being sent to jail or the Robert Sinclair Reformation Academy where the mythical characters are turned into a simplynatural that ignore their spirit or mythical self.
It took some time to warm up to Stella. Without too much planning she decides to apply to the academy so she can write an article about what goes on at the school. She doesn’t take into consideration she could be trapped there and how she could get out, but there is definitely something wrong with the academy.
She doesn’t have many friends before coming to the academy but she is quickly friends with Ryan and Clay. Ryan has never fit in with his kind so he is there to become a simlplynatural and finally fit in. Clay was raised in foster care after his parents learned he was a reaper as a child. He is looking for a home. All of them have class with Michael who recently graduated from the academy and started teaching there. He has not had an exit interview yet. These three men are drawn to Stella and don’t understand why. We don’t know much about Blue yet, we don’t even know his name.
What happens to cause the students to become simplynatural? Why are leaders from other nations coming to the academy? Can these guys all be in a relationship with Stella at the same time? Where does Blue’s allegiance lay? What do Stella’s symbols mean?
There are so many questions left at the end of the book. It looks like there should be four books in this series so there is hopefully lots of time for answers ,and probably even more questions coming.
A love interest that's a Cyclops? Sign me up. Because who didn't like Scott from the X-Men? 😍 (Scott with Jean Grey and not after...)
In this world, supernatural beings are frowned upon and discriminated against. So much so that many go to Robert Sinclair's Reformation Academy to suppress their nature. Once they graduate, they come out as simplynaturals. Our female lead, Stella is a Valkyrie and journalist who goes undercover in attempts to expose the academy for nefarious wrongdoings. She soon learns the deadly consequences if one doesn't graduate.
At the academy, Stella meets several men. Ryan - her roommate, cinnamon roll, and a Cyclops. Clay - a reaper with a seemingly sunny disposition despite the fate he deals with death. Michael - her teacher who graduated from the academy. What are his intentions? A Leprechaun He might be stalking her and he refuses to give her his name. (because you give power to whoever knows it) She calls him Blue.
Is there another love interest? And was he introduced? I believe there are hints for another joining the harem. AND I am here for that.
The novel reads on the easier side. I felt it was more for a young adult audience if it wasn't for the smexy scenes. I enjoyed this different take on a RH paranormal academy as I've probably read the gamut of them. The love interests are unique and each have differentiating personalities to set them apart. Interested to find out what mysteries are unraveled in the next one.
Tropes to expect: - Academy, paranormal - No bullying from love interests - Teacher\Student relationship - Found family - Spice 2/5 - Slow - medium burn
I received an e-arc for this. Thank you!! I must also state that this was the cutest e-arc I've received. Unfortunately I don't know how to load the character art! (I've tried)
BRAVO!!! Honestly, I’m just speechless on how amazing this book just kicked off the new series, The Rift Wars. The level of detail surrounding, not just the lore of the characters but the lore of the world they live in is spectacular.
I loved the mix of adding folklore and more mythology-based beings to what we already know in the paranormal genre. This mix just works so well together. The romance is definitely a slow burn and there is not a lot of spice but it really works with the first in the series. Reformed is very much setting up the rest of the story and world/character building. The focus of the story is a nice combo of focusing on why Stella is doing at the academy and the slow build of romance between her and the MMCs.
Learning about each of the characters and the building of who they are is very detailed and so fascinating. Stella really shows that she is more than the box that the Reformation Academy has placed her in. She’s strong like a Valkyrie would be but she’s not a flawless person.
Clay is definitely the embodiment of golden retriever MMC but he’s a Reaper who struggles with the weight of the souls he reaps and how it wears on his body and mind.
Ryan, the cyclops, is a sweet person who goes against everything he’s been taught to be by his community and everything the world puts on him.
The shifter of the group – a cervidae specifically – is a professor who has been through the academy and trying to fill in the cracks on what happened to a dear friend of his. Michael is willing to help Stella in her research on what’s really going on after one spends time within these walls.
Not much to say about Nameless aka Leprechaun Boy but I’m so excited to see how well he plays with everyone.
I can’t wait for book 2 and to get to know each of the characters more!!
The first book in the Rift Wars series, Reformed, is a slow-burn paranormal why choose that immediately pulled me in with its diverse magical creatures. Right away, we’re introduced to different supernatural beings, each with a brief but effective explanation of their main spirit, and their personalities do the rest of the work in bringing them to life.
Our FMC, Stella, has spent years hiding her Valkyrie identity, but when she needs a big story to make her journalism career, she goes undercover at Robert Sinclair’s Reformation Academy, a place that "rehabilitates" supernaturals by stripping them of their abilities. Something about it doesn’t sit right, and Stella is determined to expose the truth. She expected secrets, but she didn’t expect to make friends with a cyclops, a reaper, a shifter, and a leprechaun. Now, keeping them safe is just as important as taking the Academy down.
The parallels between the police state in this book and real-world issues really stood out to me; eradicating those who are different just to gain more power is a storyline that hits close to home. The world building is delivered naturally through dialogue, which kept me engaged without feeling overwhelmed by too many details. Plus, the included maps of the Vorista Realm and Robert Sinclair’s Reformation Academy grounds were a great touch!
This book is all about setup: establishing the characters, laying the foundation for romance, and setting the plot into motion. If you’re looking for spice, just know that this is a slooooow burn, with real heat only kicking in around the last 20%. And yes, it ends on a cliffhanger, so be ready to pre-order the next one!
Huge thanks to R&R Book Tours and Holly Monroe for the eARC! I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.
Hold onto your wings, folks, because Robert Sinclair’s Reformation Academy isn’t your average supernatural school story—it’s a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat exposé wrapped in sass, secrets, and supernatural chaos!
Stella Mikers is that girl—a Valkyrie with nerves of steel, a journalist’s instinct sharper than a reaper’s scythe, and enough undercover audacity to make even the boldest investigative reporters sweat. Hiding her supernatural nature for over a decade? No problem. Wading into a creepy reform school designed to de-magic supernatural beings just for a good headline? Absolutely.
But let’s talk about the twists, because WOW. The Academy isn’t just sketchy—it’s sinister. There are vampires playing phlebotomist (who signed off on that?!), necromancers casually handling the dead (um, conflict of interest much?), and a golden-gated institution that’s more dystopian nightmare than redemption center. And just when you think you have it all figured out? BAM—another jaw-dropping revelation.
And the characters? Chef’s kiss. A foot-fetishist vampire (disturbing, yet weirdly hilarious), a cinnamon-roll reaper, and a socially awkward cyclops? Yes, please! Stella’s snarky, no-nonsense attitude paired with her accidental found family dynamic makes for some of the best character interactions I’ve read in a long time. And don’t even get me started on that professor. The tension. The intrigue. The vibes.
If you love stories packed with sharp wit, morally questionable institutions, and a protagonist who refuses to back down no matter how impossible the odds, this is your next obsession. 5/5 stars—somebody get Stella a Pulitzer and a sword. She’s earned both. 💀✨
Sat down to read and did not stop until I finished it. It was that good! If you like why choose, Academy/Prison books with a kick ass FMC and MMCs that range from golden retrevier and cinnamon roll to mysterious stalker and professor, then I have the book for you!.
It follows Stella, a Valkyrie, who has been hiding her true nature and living amongst the Authentics (humans) as a journalist for years. One night, she gets the crazy idea to enroll in Robert Sinclair's Reformation Academy to get the inside scoop into what happens inside the academy and how they turn Supernaturals into Simpleynatural
Inside the Academy, she slowly starts to realise that this is way bigger than she originally thought, and one rule break could result in prison (with no questions or explanations). Luckily, she has the sweetest suit-mate in a Cyclops named Ryan and a golden retrevier, who is pure sunshine, in a Reaper named Clay. Also, there is this mysterious stalker who is a tad lucky but won't give his name and a professor who has a connection but is also hiding secrets.
I love this authors writing style! There is a good number of different POV chapters, and each is written with those personalities. You feel the shyness and unworthiness from Ryan and the determination from Stella. The story doesn't jump or leave you with an overcomplicated history (which can happen with fantasy/paranormal stories), and I enjoyed the aspects of mythology and folk lore woven in.
This is book one, and it comes out 21st of February, with book two looking at a release date of August (personally, I don't know how to wait that long).
This is the first book in the Rift Wars series, a why choose paranormal romance series that is planned to have four book in total. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own.
Tropes and themes include: ✨Why choose (MFMMM) ✨Slowburn ✨Mythology/Folklore inspired ✨Undercover FMC ✨Diverse set of partners
Rating: 4/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
The Lovely: I loved the world the author has created in Vorista and how that plays out in the story. There are a wide variety of mythical creatures at the academy and I appreciated how not all of them conformed to stereotypes. I also appreciated how each of the F’s partners and distinct personalities - no getting them confused here!
The Mundane: I struggled to truly get into the story as I didn’t feel much plot tension, especially in the first half to 2/3. The tension between some of the characters was there, but I didn’t feel like the stakes were very high. It was in the back of my mind it’d be really bad if Stella was caught but it truly never really felt like, to me at least, that was a very high risk.
Recommendation: I knew the author as an emotional omegaverse romance writer so I was excited to receive the opportunity to check out her next book ahead of time. The ending drops you off quite a cliff and I was like - wait, what? no! Luckily, book two of this series is expected to lto be released in August 2025 and I will definitely be continuing with the series because I must get some questions answered and find out what happens.
I’ve read, and really enjoyed, Holly Monroe's omegaverse books, so when I saw this was coming out I really wanted to give it a go. This is very different - paranormal romance, very much plot forward, without much spice or romantic tension until fairly close to the end. It really reminded me of the Kit Davenport series, and much like that series you get the impression that Monroe has held back on the spice in book one, but it is really going to ramp up as the series progresses.
I enjoyed all the different supernaturals introduced in the book, and I really appreciated how different they all were from each other, both in terms of their ‘spirits’ and their personalities. I've never read a story with a cyclops before! Each of the MCs felt really distinct, and that they'll all have something different to contribute as the plot moves on. I didn't really understand the attraction they were all feeling - and because the focus was more on the plot and central mystery than progressing the feels, I couldn't quite get with how quickly they all became commited to our FMC Stella (or her to them). The exception to this was Blue, who could get away with it because he was so mysterious - the tension between them was delicious.
I'm intrigued by where the plot is going - I honestly do not have a clue about how its going to twist and turn its way along, so I'm now left happily awaiting book 2!
I read an advance copy of this book. My thoughts are very much my own.
In this world, magical beings (supernaturals) from myths and legends exist alongside humans (simplynaturals). Unfortunately, the simply naturals have deemed the supernaturals a danger to society, and they've been left with two choices: assimilate through a program and Sinclair reform school or prison. Our fmc Stella is a journalist, and a Valkyrie who is convinced that something shady is going on right under everyone's nose, and she makes it her mission to get to the bottom of this with the hopes of ultimately exposing the founder of the school and improving the living situation of supernaturals. As such, she decides to go undercover and enrol.
What I liked about this story first and foremost is that it doesn't glorify the existence of the reform school where this story takes place. The slowburn polyamorous romance plot is cute. The guys all have distinct personality traits, without feeling like the author was just checking of "types". They all have separate relationships that Stella develops at their own individual pace. The story proceeds at a pleasant pace as we follow Stella along as she becomes acquainted with her fellow students while she secretly conducts her research. As this is the first of a trilogy, it's obvious that we're being shown several pieces of the puzzle. I've no idea how this is all going to fit, but it sure made me curious!
What do you mean I have to wait until August for book 2?! That cliffhanger was brutal and I can't wait to see what happens! This was such a good book - and the character art in the chapter headers?! I loved that so much so that I could visualize how Holly saw each one of the characters! I was honestly hooked from the first chapter. Our MFC is a Valkyrie newspaper intern who is in hiding in the human world and working for a human newspaper. She is in competition with the other interns to come up with an incredible news article in order to earn her full time position. She decides to enter a school for the supernaturals where they try to 'reform' them and make them less dangerous for the general population after she learns that there is definitely something sketchy going on with the academy. As you can imagine, chaos ensues.
Holly really checked off all of my favorite tropes in this one. -academy setting -teacher/student -why-choose -mythology -lots of humor and sass from the fmc and one of the mmcs -a mysterious bad boy -a sweet self conscious teddy bear of a man -shifters -a very slow burn
Overall this was a really fun time and I cannot wait to see how Stella and the boys get out of this situation. Thank you again Holly for the ARC and I can't wait to read the next one!
I love that this book had an authors note. I love folklore and mythology. I love a good slow burn and paranormal romance. The map of the Vorista Realm was really nice to see. I’m a sucker for a book that has a map. It’s always good to see a map of where the events of the book are happening. Stella has been sent undercover at the Reformation Academy. Stella discovers that not all is as it seems at the Reformation Academy. I liked that there were multiple point of views. I always like reading from more than once characters views. A why choose romance is always a good one to read as well. I can’t imagine wanting to reform the supernaturals. I love that Stella learns a lot more about herself as the book goes on. I loved that Stella has created bonds within the Academy. The character art with each chapter is actually really neat. You have Ryan who is a cyclops. Michael who’s a red stag shifter. Then clay who’s a reaper. Yuri is not a character I like at all. He seemed very pushy towards Stella. I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Mysterious and fun! I enjoyed this first book in what promises to be an exciting series.
The concept was really interesting. The mystery of it had me hooked. I want to know what’s going on!! And then that ending… I need more!!
Then there’s the characters! The main Stella was a Valkyrie. She was an entertaining strong woman who wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself and those she cares for.
Clay was a reaper. Now he’s one of my favs! He was a fun ray of sunshine! I loved his personality despite the darkness that surrounds him.
Ryan was a cyclops. He was interesting and was like the nerdy sweet giant. He was cute and innocent.
Michael was a shapeshifter. I liked his story and am so curious about what happened in the past.
Then there’s the mysterious Blue. Now he’s the most intriguing to me! I loved how mysterious he was and can’t wait to uncover more about who he really was and everything about him!
I enjoyed the concept of the story. It was paced well with a medium burn for the harem and still loads to figure out! There’s also the huge high risk element and mystery that surrounds that Academy that I want to know more about!
The ending left me eager for more and I can’t wait to see where things go!
Reformed kicks off an exciting series filled with supernatural beings, thrilling mysteries, and a world where powers are suppressed. Stella, a reporter, goes undercover at a reform school designed to "humanize" supernaturals, and quickly finds herself caught in a web of secrets. Alongside her are a charming group of characters, including her cyclops roommate Ryan, the sweet grim reaper Clay, and the enigmatic red stag shifter, Michael.
The world-building is fantastic, with rich backstories for each supernatural character, and the slow-burn relationships are beautifully developed. The chemistry between Stella and the characters is engaging, and the mystery surrounding the reform school keeps you hooked. There's just enough intrigue and danger to keep the story moving without feeling rushed.
The ending will leave you eagerly awaiting the next book, and the subtle tension and dynamic between the characters will have you invested in their journey. Overall, Reformed is a captivating start to a series filled with supernatural intrigue and complex relationships. I can’t wait for the next book!

Stella Mikers, a Valkyrie who’s been hiding her true identity for years, goes undercover at the shady Reformation Academy. Her mission? To uncover the secrets behind this place that claims to turn supernaturals into “simplynaturals” and make them fit in with society. But, plot twist: there’s more going on at this school than meets the eye.
The world-building is super immersive, and the characters are a breath of fresh air! We've got a shy cyclops, a sunshine-y reaper, a broody professor, and a bunch of other unique creatures that just WORK together. The chemistry between Stella and her love interests is next level. The romance is slow-burn but chef’s kiss when it heats up. AND, I need to shout out to the spice (you know what I mean) that adds to the tension without overpowering the plot.
This book is a full-on vibe, and the cliffhanger? I am losing my mind—bring on the next one! If you love paranormal reads with a mix of mystery, romance, and some seriously cool characters, Reformed is your next must-read! Can't wait to dive back into this world!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 4.5⭐️
After finishing this book, I really want a Cyclops and a Reaper of my own. These two are the sweetest MMCs, and im in love
This book had me hooked from the very beginning, and I loved the multiple POVs.
The story follows Stella, who is a Valkyrie hiding amongst the authentics (humans) as supernaturals are seen as the lesser beings since the rift wars. Stella has been working as an intern journalist and needs a big story to secure a permanent spot at the company.
After seeing an ad on TV for Robert Sinclair's Reformation Academy, she decides to quit her job and enrol there on a scholarship in the hope's of uncovering the truth of what really goes on behind its closed doors.
She soon forms close bonds with four others (a cyclops, a reaper, a shifter, and a leprechaun) and learns that there is more going on than what she originally thought.
This is a MFMMM why choose paranormal romance and is the first in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found that I couldn't put it down. The dynamic between them all is honesty the best, and the banter is top tier.
