This is a must read if you’ve read the trilogy Mating Season

In Mating Season you met Fallon and John. Fallon is feisty, smart, and an alpha female that is judged first by many. John went along with the show to appease his pack and help his nieces find mates. It was not his intention to find his fated mate.

These two are complete opposites, but definitely each other’s match. Bringing out the sides of them that makes them just as strong and the alpha couple Johns pack needs.

This is a short fast read but Heather delivers! You will laugh! This is Fallon and John we are talking about of course you will laugh! Nice dose of spice, Aspen and the team make an appearance as well and most importantly Fallon and John get their HEA!

I do not know that I would enjoy the basic premise a mating season tv show, but I did find this short dip in to that world enjoyable.

I'm happy there is a follow-up novella for Fallon & John. I liked their characters in The Mating Season books. I liked Fallon remaining a strong character and that John supported her. I even loved the little Alice character.
It started good. Summarizing some events from The Mating Season books from Fallon & John's perspectives. Sweet that John tried to get to know Fallon through their bond. I don't swoon reading these books, but John's description of Fallon was very romantic - "If she smelled like the moon, she tasted of starlight."
However, it was hard for me to get through the rest of the book. I'm from Michigan. There's definitely more to Michigan than Detroit, cold weather and a representation that the U.P. as "backwoods."
I understand the conflict of fighting old ways and/or chauvinism.
However, the stereotypes used to describe the Upper Peninsula were insulting. The only wolves/shifters really mentioned were the chauvinist and their prejudice mates.
And, how many times can flannel be used as an insult?
I like Fallon stepping up as Luna and improving the pack, especially new playground, boutique shops (since there are already a lot of cities/towns/villages like this in the U.P.) and drawing younger people in with the Thursday night music night.
I'm not sure how Fallon decorating the lodge with less flannel (again, why is flannel and insult), and supposedly modern twists like... uhm.. black & I mean.. yoopers do have plenty of "knit" blankets and such already.
And maybe a couple mentions of the lake. Toward the beginning when John's nieces were talking about Michigan, once when Fallon was sitting on the porch looking at the lake and then in the end when John invited Ranger for fishing.
Wow. What a way to diminish the Great Lakes and one of the many smaller lakes in the U.P.

This was a fun little novella and I love Alpha’s that are turned on by a strong Luna. I’ve been howling about how excited I am for the next and final book which is Opal‘s book and I’m even more excited because I’ve started and apparently Opal is a submissive so that’s a nice little switch up since we’ve had Aspen and Fallon be doms.

I will say that I do wish this gave me more sweet mundane moments between the two of them, but this is also Wolf lore, everybody falls in love in three days.

I skipped all the other books in this series because I wanted a SHORT read. I didn’t mind that it felt like I was missing some details about how the show worked or why anyone was involved. My problem was, I thought this was going to be just about the “fated” connection between the MCs, but after about half way it was really just about Fallon being brought to his pack and all the scenes kinda felt a little choppy and thrown in with her finding random ways of introducing herself as Luna or proving herself. Kinda felt like “not like other girls” with the black fingernails mentioned, idk.

I’m not rating because it simply wasn’t what I was looking for in a book with 100 pages.

I am so glad to have had the chance to learn more about Fallon and John’s story this was so good !! Like the icing on a cake this book really compliments and completes their story , doesn’t hurt to check in and see how the others are doing since the season either !! I’m ready and waiting for the next book Opals story in the mating season and to see what our cat Jesse is going to be involved with!! This book is definitely a must read!! The whole series is!!

More like a tease

It was nice to see these characters again, and it was a fun read—and quick—but it was really more of a tease than fully satisfying. I wanted to personally see their relationship develop, but it was more like a series of status updates. Stuff happened off-stage, then the characters told the reader. What was there was still well-written, but it just wasn’t as developed as I wanted and (I think) the characters could have handled.

Fallon is a great lead lady. she has spunk & is not afraid to use it. John is a great alpha & and even better husband.
I did not expect it to end where it did. I really hope that means there is more to come.
I really enjoyed the fiest book & this novella.
I can't wait to read the next book.
I recommend if you like shifters & all the stuff that comes with being a shifter.

A Wonderful Addition

Nothing makes me happier than getting a peek into the story of side characters that I love; and Fallon is definitely near the top of that list!

As with everything Heather K. Carson does, this story was fun and engaging. Well-written, with a wonderful balance of intrigue and delivery.

Great but too short

I thought we were going to get a full length story. It was not even 100 pages. It was disappointing just because it was short. Though the writer should really take this as a compliment, as I like your work so well, I got disgruntle because they did not give me more. 8t is worth reading if you read the other 3 books, just do not expect much from the story.

Fallon and John’s story kind of fell a little flat for me. I either felt like to much was glossed over or it could probably even been skipped. John seemed so cool and confident in the actual series and I didn’t get that vibe at all in this book. It’s still a really good novella. I’m excited to read The Omega next

Somehow the last book was wayyyy to long and this one wasn’t enough. I wanted to see more pack interaction her become a Luna ppl respected how she was building up and finally saying she loved her mate n new life. We didn’t get that but it was still a good read.

This of this as an extended epilogue for the trilogy. It was a nice round up. I wish it was more of a complete book about the two rather than a short novella. If you've not read the trilogy, don't bother with this as you'd get nothing much out of it.
