I only came to this show to help my brother get revenge; not have my wolf literally latch onto a big, silent Alpha sitting alone in the woods and claim him.
It turns out the Alpha wasn’t all that quiet.
Now I can’t get his voice out of my head or the taste of him off my lips. He’s everywhere. And he’s not going away.
I’m not sure I want him to leave.
Fate is cruel. John is perfect–for someone other than me. I just need to convince him of that.
When the feisty she-wolf came stalking through the forest, it was a fight to keep my beast restrained. Most shifters feared me and kept a healthy distance.
Not Fallon.
She pranced right up to my wolf and staked her claim, sending me on a tailspin of a chase as I tried to return the mark. But if my mate wants the hunt, so be it.
I’ve lived long enough to know that when good things come, you hold tight.
Fallon is mine and I’m never letting her go.
Opposites Attract is a Mating Season novella telling the story of Fallon and John’s mating match. Catch up with character favorites from the previous season while you fall in love with this new romantic journey. The story starts at the end of mating season and continues past the show. The plot is different than the previous trilogy. This is a standalone, spicy short story written per readers’ requests.
Heather K. Carson is the mother of two feral little boys by day and published author by night. When she isn't working on a new book or refereeing a wrestling match, she's covered in mud from playing in the garden or dancing around the kitchen and whipping up enough food to feed the monsters she created.
In her paranormal romance books, you'll find world building twists, lovable side characters, beastly males, and strong female leads who like to shake things up.
Heather currently resides in the Pacific Northwest and spends whatever free time she gets by running away to the mountains with her equally exhausted husband and the best chocolate lab in the whole world.

This is a must read if you’ve read the trilogy Mating Season
In Mating Season you met Fallon and John. Fallon is feisty, smart, and an alpha female that is judged first by many. John went along with the show to appease his pack and help his nieces find mates. It was not his intention to find his fated mate.
These two are complete opposites, but definitely each other’s match. Bringing out the sides of them that makes them just as strong and the alpha couple Johns pack needs.
This is a short fast read but Heather delivers! You will laugh! This is Fallon and John we are talking about of course you will laugh! Nice dose of spice, Aspen and the team make an appearance as well and most importantly Fallon and John get their HEA!
I skipped all the other books in this series because I wanted a SHORT read. I didn’t mind that it felt like I was missing some details about how the show worked or why anyone was involved. My problem was, I thought this was going to be just about the “fated” connection between the MCs, but after about half way it was really just about Fallon being brought to his pack and all the scenes kinda felt a little choppy and thrown in with her finding random ways of introducing herself as Luna or proving herself. Kinda felt like “not like other girls” with the black fingernails mentioned, idk.
I’m not rating because it simply wasn’t what I was looking for in a book with 100 pages.
I am so glad to have had the chance to learn more about Fallon and John’s story this was so good !! Like the icing on a cake this book really compliments and completes their story , doesn’t hurt to check in and see how the others are doing since the season either !! I’m ready and waiting for the next book Opals story in the mating season and to see what our cat Jesse is going to be involved with!! This book is definitely a must read!! The whole series is!!
Heather...you are AMAZING! John and Fallon were so much fun. I really enjoyed watching her stay true to herself in her new pack. Reading how she commanded respect and made meaningful changes made my heart happy. The little glimpse of Ranger and Aspen was a nice bonus. Then, the little Jesse peek was the cherry on top. I am even MORE excited for the next book.
It was nice to see these characters again, and it was a fun read—and quick—but it was really more of a tease than fully satisfying. I wanted to personally see their relationship develop, but it was more like a series of status updates. Stuff happened off-stage, then the characters told the reader. What was there was still well-written, but it just wasn’t as developed as I wanted and (I think) the characters could have handled.
I thought we were going to get a full length story. It was not even 100 pages. It was disappointing just because it was short. Though the writer should really take this as a compliment, as I like your work so well, I got disgruntle because they did not give me more. 8t is worth reading if you read the other 3 books, just do not expect much from the story.
I kinda wish this was longer. I liked Fallon in the regular series but didn’t know much about John and this didn’t change that at all. I know next to nothing about John and I continue to enjoy Fallon’s character.
I loved the little glimpse into Fallon and John’s mating season on the show and after. Would give anything to follow Aspen, Ranger, Fallon, and John’s stories more to see how many pups they have and all the trouble they get into. Looking forward to reading Opal’s story
Somehow the last book was wayyyy to long and this one wasn’t enough. I wanted to see more pack interaction her become a Luna ppl respected how she was building up and finally saying she loved her mate n new life. We didn’t get that but it was still a good read.
This of this as an extended epilogue for the trilogy. It was a nice round up. I wish it was more of a complete book about the two rather than a short novella. If you've not read the trilogy, don't bother with this as you'd get nothing much out of it.
I love this series and really enjoyed getting a deeper look into Fallon and John’s love story. It was just what I needed until we get the next book. If you are a fan of Mating season you have to add this novella to your TBR.
I loved this novella of John and Fallon. Especially the end where she “nope no spoilers here”. Can’t wait to see what happens with Opal on season 8 and Jesse. My favorite line “don’t mess with the stylist”
I really can’t deal with these cliffhanger, especially when this was a standalone and everything wasn’t finished with Fallon and John there better be more to that story otherwise Heather and I are going to Park friends or not friends
Heroes, heroines, and powerful personalities with a lot of spicy by play. This is one of the better series I have read in the last 8 years. Not for under 18 readers.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I'm glad for Fallon and John for their own little story since we didn't get to much in the mating season.
