I truly hope you enjoy! Happy Holidays! XOXO, Brittney
This amazing book had me hooked from the start and I could not put it down. The amount of hilarious awkwardness it starts out with us enough to kick start your giggles harder than 3 margaritas on girls night. If that was enough for you, need I mention a kitten?!? This has got to be the best book written by Brittney Joy and while yes I feel that way every single time I read one of hers, this was no exception I was so madly in love with the characters, story, and even side characters (who normally I overlook a bit in books but I was just as invested in their lives, and super hoping we get more of them in the future).
I absolutely loved the playfulness between the two main characters! Witty, fun and a tight-knit friends group topped off with the forbidden office romance. Sweet and lighthearted, Sincerely Not Yours warmed my heart just in time for the holidays.
I received an ARC of this book and all opinions are my own.
Just what I needed for the festive season a xmas romcom throw in a kitten, a boss and employee complicated relationship and a snowy Chicago setting, what more could you want!
Gigi is such a fun character! This is is such a fun book in general and a wonderful holiday book. Full of awkwardness, comedy, pranks, a margarita drinking knitting group, and of course an adorable kitten. What is there not to like? In fact, I loved it! It reads like a romcom and at the end you're left wondering if you read the book or watched the movie that should exist in its place. I have loved every single one of Brittney's romances to date, and I can't wait to see what the next book brings us. I can't wait to learn more about Gigi's friend group. I need more margarita knitting nights in my life.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
A cute Christmas romantic comedy with Hallmark-esque vibes. Story oversimplified, Gigi is the marketing director for a beauty products company. Harris is the boss’ son sent in to shut her down. Over several Christmas events, Harris begins to see Gigi’s value— to the company and to his personal life. Their developing relationship is delightful and so sweet. The true fun begins with the entrance of an adorable kitten and some snarky emails (the closures on those emails are so funny!). In addition to humor, it is rewarding to watch Harris, a number-focused businessman who has a strained relationship with his father, turn defender of the undervalued “little guy” (or girl). He’s a swoony hero for sure! It is also fun to see a peak of Gigi’s sister, Val, from Matched in Maple Bay, another Brittney Joy book I love.
I read an advanced copy of this story and was under no obligation to leave a positive review. This is my opinion.
I love this book, the characters were so heartwarming, funny and sweet, especially Gigi. There are enough laugh out loud situations that the book will definitely put a smile on your face while reading it. In short Gigi is the marketing director of the women's division of a beauty products company and Harris is the boss's son who is being sent to the company to shut down that division. Add to the mix Gigi's love for Christmas and Harris's aversion to it, what can go wrong there? A very engaging book from start to finish, it warmed my heart.
Harris is summoned by his father to work with his brother in the family business. His father says he wants to retire, but he says the brothers must work together. On an initial evaluation, Harris thinks that a department, SheTime, should be dissolved. Gigi is the marketing director for this program and it is dear to her heart. Harris tags along with her for events to see if it can be made viable. Struggles ensue.
I enjoyed the characters and the story line. It is an easy read and pulls you in wanting to turn the next page to see what happens next. This is a great read and should be put in your “To Be Read” pile.
I received and ARC from the author and am leaving an honest review.
Sincerely Not Yours is a clean, Hallmark-like, romantic comedy. I love how Harris and Gigi found their HEA despite all the roadblocks they faced. The kittens were a darling addition to this fun romance. I also enjoyed the snarky closures on the emails. Who hasn’t wanted to type one of those? I really love how Haarris came to value Gigi’s work ethic. I did not put this book down until I reached the end!
Gigi and Harris were opposites, but you knew they were a great natch. He came back to town and to his family's company to help his brother so his father wouldn't sell it to a competitor. He meets Gigi there on his first day back and they literally run into each other. He didn't want to be there, but he sees Gigi for more than just an employee. He also realizes how brilliant she is. They both know they shouldn't fall for each other, but feelings run deep. This was a wonderful story!
CUTE. SWEET. CHRISTMAS LOVE STORY. This romance book was a cute and humorous story. Gigi and Harris collide (literally) in their first meeting. Gigi finds out Harris will he her new boss. He wants to make changes to her product and she is not happy. Gigi stands up to Harris and tries to make him miserable so he will move on. That plan backfires and love ensues instead. Great and easy read!
Gigi and Harris find their HEA in spite of the obstacles that should keep them apart. This sweet story grabbed me early and didn’t let go until the last page. Don’t miss this feel-good story! I don’t write spoilers so, that’s all you’re getting.
This grumpy/sunshine story was a a heartwarming holiday read filled with love, laughter, and plenty of Christmas cheer. A delightfully fun story is so well written with wonderful characters. It's sweet and swoony and completely entertaining. The perfect rom com to brighten your holiday season. Enjoy!
What a totally delightful tale of Gigi”s market skills which clash with her boss’s ledger line until the creative genius meets the skepticism of Harris, not to mention his melting wall of resistance, given her joy and enthusiastic approach to problems. Happy ending for sure!
Gigi is passionate about her job. Harris is back from New York to make decisions about his family business. Once they start to working together they realise their connection is strong. Can they have a future together with family, business and so much more against them? Sweet Christmas romance.
What a great way to begin the holiday season. This books has all the elements of a wonderful Christmas movie. I mean you have good food, rescue kitten, job promotion, friends that are close and a rich guy who doesn’t know he needs a kitten sweater wearing lady in his life. This is an adorable read!
This was a complete surprise. It was absolutely adorable and wholesome. Perfect amount of Christmas vibes. Fantastic cast of characters. Surprisingly well written, the dialogue/banter was so enjoyable. Squeaky clean, I mean Gigi actually uses the phrase bullhonkey as a curse word. But still had great slow burn tension. I would definitely recommend this.
Sincerely Not Yours is a super sweet Christmas novel set in December in Chicago. Gigi, who bubbles with holiday energy bumps into Harris, an uptight numbers person who happens to be her boss in from out of town. Throw in some holiday events, a kitten, and a wonderful group of girlfriends and let the magic unfold!
I enjoyed this fun filled Christmas romance so much! It certainly doesn't need to be enjoyed only during the holidays but it did make me feel more festive. The characters are multifaceted and much more interesting than first glance would indicate. Readers will fall for this couple.
Really cute story! Original concept, just the right amount of cheesiness, and lovable characters! A good mix of humor and emotional depth. It’s a cozy, feel-good read that will leave you smiling.
A really special story about talented people. Learning to live in the now, listening and making time to clear up troubled times. It is a "clean" story with great advice/ meaning.

Best quotes: “Well, I’ve seen firsthand what Gigi can do with limited resources, and I’m confident she could grow that business tenfold with a proper team and funding. SheTime has the potential to not only survive but thrive and become a significant supplement to our larger business.”
“Gigi carried both their plates to the table, setting them between silverware and tall, cold glasses of milk. Gigi sank into a chair and reached for her nonna’s hand. They bowed their heads and said a thankful prayer, as they did before each meal.”
I love that!
“Gigi, I need you to know I truly appreciate your brilliance and passion. I can’t say that enough. I believe in you, in everything you can achieve, with anything you set your mind to.”
“I’m saying I started falling in love with you the day you tackled me on the elevator, and now I can’t picture my life without you in it.” She squeezed his hands, her eyes twinkling. “You couldn’t resist my Christmas kitten sweater?” “I couldn’t resist the person who’d wear such a sweater.” He grinned at her, his heart pounding. “Gigi, you’re bright from the inside out. You bring joy into every situation. I can’t imagine one more day without you. I sincerely and truly am in love with you. Please, give me a chance to prove it to you every day, every moment from here on forward. I love you, Gigi.”
Sincerely Not Yours is a laugh out loud storey of Gigi and her friends Paige and Alice. They concoct a scheme to put Gigi's new boss through the ringer in all the Christmas activities Gigi and Harris have to attend to sell their line of beauty products. Gigi makes him wear a Christmas sweater and ring sleigh bells while she belts out "All I Want For Christmas Is You" at a karaoke event. But, the scheme backfired on Gigi when Harris starts to chill out and enjoy these events with her. And the night that a blizzard had hit while closing up at a store event and it was freezing and an hour wait for a Uber to get home, they walk over to Harris' home to get out of the snow. Gigi ends up seeing a softer side of Harris, one that she really likes. When they meet up with her old boyfriend they do all this talk of being girlfriend and boyfriend. They begin to like the sound of that. Harris sees the hard work and joy Gigi gets from seeing SheTime beauty products sell with only her pushing the marketing for them on a shoe string budget. So Harris decided it is time to stand up to his father and to run his dating app remotely and push for Gigi to be promoted to the director of SheTime products and have a team of employees to help her while he gets to see if what he and Gigi has is really love.
