Elementary Undead had my attention from the first page. The action leaped off the page and took off and never let up from beginning to end. I believe there were zombies on almost every page if not all.

If you love zombies as much as I do then let me tell you Elementary Undead is the book for you. Yes, if you are a zombie fan then you are going to fall in love with Elementary Undead from the first page.

Karly Weiss loves zombies and today is Halloween at her school. Can you guess what Karly dressed up as? Yeah, you guessed it a zombie. Little did Karly know when she left for school this morning that she would be surrounded by zombies before the day was out.

Yeah, Karly and her friends fought zombies from one end of the school to the other. I don’t believe these zombies were like anything I have seen before. I loved it. I can’t wait to read more about Karly in future books or at least I hope there will be more books.

I love this world that was created for Elementary Undead with zombies roaming the halls and the classrooms and the main characters were all kids thirteen and under.

I highly recommend Elementary Undead to all zombie fans! Grab a copy of Elementary Undead today!

Listen. This book had my heart racing and my blood pressure sky-high.
I don't believe I've ever read a zombie apocalypse book that took place in an elementary school.

Karly is a ninth grader who's been looking forward to Halloween. It's her favourite holiday and she finally gets to dress up as her favourite monster: a zombie! Unfortunately, things take turn for the worst, and ending zombies in real life might be a bit more complicated than in a videogame.

I loved it. We get a good insight into how the outbreak starts and from several points of view. As this outbreak happens in an elementary school, this book isn't for people who don't want anything bad to happen to children in fiction. Things get graphic, and as is on par for the genre, not everyone can make it. The main characters definitely felt like their age, in the way they reacted to the sitiation and in their decision making and problem solving. It felt real, in the best way possible.

Definitely recommend this to anyone who's into zombies 🧟‍♀️

Enjoyed it!

I haven’t read too many books that feature pre teens and newly turned teenagers surviving in a zombie apocalypse. I’m assuming it’s not an easy task to undertake. Alice however, did a very good job putting herself in Karley’s shoes throughout the book. She sets a fast pace once the infection begins to show itself, drawing in many of Karly’s classmates into her circle. Unfortunately though, not many survive beyond her little core group.
The fact that it all takes place on the day of the school’s Halloween festivities is just a cherry on top of the pie. Especially with Karly dressed as a (wait for it) zombie. This poor girl. Everyone is looking to her for answers and leadership, much to her dismay. I’m afraid that Karly and her friends are in for a very rough day. Especially after she discovers her little brother. You know, Joey, the one that wasn’t supposed to be at school at all.
I would highly recommend any parent that has children interested in this genre to let them read this.

Elementary Undead: Book 1 by Alice B. Sullivan is an entertaining and action-packed tale set in a zombie apocalypse, featuring young teenagers as the protagonists.

Thirteen-year-old Karly Weiss and her friends find themselves in a desperate fight for survival when their classmates and teachers transform into flesh-eating zombies on Halloween. As they navigate the zombie-infested corridors of Renn Elementary, they quickly discover that surviving is far more challenging than it appears in the movies.

This book kept me hooked from the first page with its fast-paced action and relatable characters. I loved how the kids felt true to their age, and the nonstop zombie drama made it impossible to put down. It struck a perfect balance between fun and intensity, with moments that even tugged at my heartstrings. If you’re a fan of zombies and thrilling survival stories, I highly recommend Elementary Undead! I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series!

Disclaimer: this is a zombie apocalypse at a school. If kids dying and going zombie is too much for you, I'd pass on this.

Karly loves Halloween, and this year her zombie costume will be the best! Except something weird is going on...

Mad scientist in the school basement. Well, not the craziest thing. And looks like he's infected himself with zombie fungus.

Karly and Charlotte kissing in a tree... young love is adorable. And the cast of characters is cute. Oh dear... first kid infected.

The school going full on zombie apocalypse is FAST. And there is a lot of gore... good read tho. Good conclusion, tho it's clearly set up for book two.

Karly loves zombies in all forms of entertainment, including movies, video games, and books. You might call her an enthusiast. On Halloween, a science teacher at her school creates a curious strain that infects the students, and Karly has the chance to put her zombie knowledge to the test. Only this time, it’s for real.

Violent as only zombie stories can be, but never over-the-top, this YA chapter book is perfectly suitable for a younger audience’s introduction to the zombie genre.

I loved this book. It was full of zombies and adrenaline fuelled nail biting moments. It felt real it's characters as teenagers weren't all brave or strong just kids trying to survive against people they had know for years suddenly developing a taste for their flesh. I was hooked. I want more. I want to know what happens after. But for now I'll just find and read more of the authors works.

good

Pretty good! It was definitely entertaining!! Lots of zombie drama!! It felt a little long in parts!! It just felt like they messed around so much instead of just leaving the school. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Not bad for a YA zombie book

Elementary Undead: Book 1 tells the story of a zombie outbreak in an elementary school. Its a YA book, so the gore is on the (very) mild side and very few expletives are present. 3/5 stars for an adult audience, but kids will enjoy it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy, captivating read that kept me hooked from the start. The cast of diverse characters was a standout, each with real depth and charm. I found myself genuinely caring about them all.

Seeing the Apocalypse from kids POVs was nerve wracking. But these kids are smart and very determined to get out of their school Alive. kept me on the edge of my seat almost from the very beginning.
