Helen's sister is insane!

She really, really pissed me off. I didn't like her at all. Who stays with someone like Grayson? Being pregnant with his baby sucks but to marry him is crazy. The kind of danger a sex addict/rapist poses on a possible daughter is not worth the risk. If she wants to risk herself, fine but don't bring an innocent life into that situation. Nothing could be more selfish. Especially since she obviously suspects what he did to Helen (after she tried to tell her)....

The fact the Helen stayed in that house with Grayson was also really, really stupid. Why didn't she just contact the police. She could be secretive about it and Grayson wouldn't know what was going on, so he wouldn't be able to carry through with his threat before he was in custody! I couldn't stop grinding my teeth over the actions of the people in this book. I was even a little annoyed with Liam since he didn't try to help Helen get out of the Grayson situation or suggest some reasonable solutions.

It was hard for me to even continue reading the book because of the stupidity of it all. The writing also needed work.

Clarity 2 is the second installment in the Clarity series by Loretta Lost.

I have to say that I enjoyed the book very much, though very little significant things happened for the story. That was my problem with it.

After the cliffhanger of the first book, Helen tries to cope with the realization that her darkest nightmare is becoming true all over again. She feels that she needs to protect her loved ones so nothing bad would happen to them. She warns her sister that someone very evil is a little too close to her but she soon finds out Carmen knew all along.

In my opinion, Carmen is insane, and so thinks Helen. That makes the situation all of the characters are in so dark. I liked that turn of the screw, it was not the obvious choice to continue the story.

The romance is still great. Helen and Liam clearly feel something between them is going on, but they take their time. At moments, Liam seems too good to be true, his words seemed false to me. Anyway, I understood why while reading the third book.

What I didn't like is that there is no progress concerning Helen's medical treatment. I was hoping to read of some tests in this one, at least. But no, nothing about that.

The ending was amazing. I've started to read Clarity 3 right after I'd closed this one. Yes, another cliffhanger, so you better have the third book close.

Yeah, so I didn't like this one as much. I wasn't expecting it to turn into a drama fest for the most part of the book. I was kind of hoping it would be how Helen slowly fell in love and how wonderful it was when her eyesight was restored.
Instead I got:
Her sister, who is selfish and incredibly stupid, but is at the same time a little lovely.
The bad guy; who was totally psycho (I did enjoy seeing him).
And I kept on screaming at Helen to stop acting so foolishly when it came to staying in that house. Why??????? Idiotic. Totally.

Here's hoping that the 3rd and final book picks back up.

PLEASE LIAM, BE ALIVE!
This book was a great sequel to the first one. I still love the main character, Helen Winters. I love the fact that she's still the same person as she was in the previous book and not totally changed like some authors do. I totally ship Helen and Liam though! They are: GOALS. He's definitely my type of guy that I want. I love antique things just like him as well. I HATE Grayson. He's so abnormal and unnecessary. He's so protective over Helen, it's disturbing. The ending had me rolling in tears! I hope Liam is okay! If he's not, I won't be able to live. One thing I will say is, I really hope that Liam is a good guy and doesn't hurt Helen. I truly have faith in their relationship. I absolutely love this series so far though. I recommend it to everyone.

The first book ends on a spoiler and it is one of the best books I've read. I LOVE it and I'm hoping the sequel will be just as good, if not better.

Poor Helen has grown up without sight. Being blind didn't stop her from being a wonderful writer, but after a horrid assault she runs away from the world to live in a cabin in the middle of nowhere.

After meeting a couple of wonderful (and funny) doctors who want to perform an operation that might restore her sight, Helen ends up back at her childhood home.

Helen has to endure a nasty reminder of the most horrible thing that ever happened to her, learn to be strong and fight back and maybe to fall in love with a wonderful man.

Ending with a huge cliffhanger that makes you scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The author has an amazing way with words, I totally could not stop reading this series... I just started this morning and it's only 5pm and I already read books one and two. The character of Helen is superbly crafted .... she is real and believable and I can't help but sit in anticipation for Book 3 to come out :)

Wow... such a fun day I've had in Helen's world.

I would recommend these books to anyone really...

Okay, so I read book one literally 10 years ago, and I’ll be honest, I didn’t remember a thing. I had to look it up for a refresher before diving into this one, and based on the length alone, I had a feeling I was going to be disappointed. Here’s the thing, this series has so much potential. The plot is interesting, and it has all the right elements to be great. But the books are just too short. Why are there five books when this could have easily been a duology or maybe a trilogy at most? The cliffhanger wasn’t even exciting, it just felt unfinished and left me more annoyed than anything. And because it’s so short, everything felt rushed, which was such a letdown. Now, I could read all five books back to back and probably enjoy it more as a whole, but if I’m rating this one individually? Yeah… it didn’t hit the mark.

Apparently I'm the minority when it comes to rating this book.

Yeah... stupid is right! I really can't believe I actually read this book. I'm sorry... if my sister came to me and tried to tell me my fiance was a monster and I needed to call off the wedding, I would want to know why... not yelled at her for being concerned for my well being! And then come to find out Carmen knows he's a rapist because he pretty much did that to her! And he got her pregnant! How in the world can you say you love someone who has raped you?! And yes... she went ahead with the wedding! Stupid idiot! Ugh! And if that's not bad enough Grayson (the rapist) pretty much told Helen to keep her mouth shut or he would kill her sister and then himself! Ummm... hello! Flippin call 911! Seriously! And I've decided I hate Helen's entire family! Grayson ends up admitting to Helen he stalked her and just had to have her... says the Carmen is his consolation prize... and wants Helen to be his mistress! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! SICK AND TWISTED! Again Liam is the only bright spot in the book and even though the ending was Liam and Grayson fighting over a gun... several shots were fired... and Liam doesn't respond to Helen calling out to him... I refuse to be stupid again and continue on with the last book. I'll make up my own ending and it will be a happy one!

This was an okay read, but it wasn't one I loved.

Helen and Liam were both likable characters, but Carmen annoyed me even more in this one.

The cliffhanger in this one was almost as bad as the one in book one. Will have to read book 3 soon!

Gah, the heroine's sister is so incredibly unlikeable. The drama with her and her now husband made me lose interest in finding out if the heroine joins Dr. Liam's medical study to restore her eye sight.

Book 2 ends on a significant cliffhanger, so I pulled up my Kindle copy of book 3 to skim the last chapter. My conclusion is this series has a kind of violent and twisted drama that I can't stomach. It may appeal to other readers though who enjoy high drama. I have zero interest in her sister's storyline, so I'm officially done with this series.

Unfortunately, this series was my first by this author, but it failed to impress me enough to give her another chance.

Don't get me wrong. This book was good. But I HATE cliffhangers. I forgave book one. But this one was way worse. The world is a mess right now. I don't need the angst. I am quitting on this series. If you are rich enough to get all the series, enjoy. Luckily, enough of the answers are given in the blurbs, so you don't have to continue buying to find out if it works out. But NO book is worth this nervous energy,

Still, I raised the star rating to two stars because the writing was well done. And the narrator did a marvelous job of acting out the characters.

Trigger warnings are all over, from rape and abuse at the top of the list. But I don't feel the character who is supposed to help is helpful in the long run. So, read at your own risk.

The story is really getting good!!!

I love to love some of the characters and I love to hate some others!!! This story is getting so good. It has a slow pace vibe to it but the story seems to move along quickly if that makes any sense. Nothing seems to be left out of the story. I love how descriptive the storyline is. So far it has all the feels and I can't wait to find out what happens next. It's really picking up pace and it's making me anxious.

I really like this story and want to find out what happens but it angers me that it has been chopped into parts. Since it is not at my library I have to pay Audible for each section and I think that is unfair. I will not be finishing the series because of this.

I love the story line… That’s why I am continuing. I also love the cliffhangers at the end of the books. There are definitely some things that need further explanation but are glazed over. That is frustrating to me. But overall, these books are very entertaining!

Winter and Liam get 4.5 Stars again!
Different to the first book got the reader the chance to find out how Winter interacted with her brother in law and her family. Discover new and old fears from her.
At the same time are Liam and Winter making progress to get to know each other and started to date.
And who can resist a little danger in the end? I couldn't. And it lost it predictability.
Just was just short again.
But very lovable.

Clarity 2 is the sequel to Clarity, which ended with a breath-taking and mind-numbing cliffhanger.
Clarity 2 picks up where the first book left off and throws the reader into the turmoil and despair that Helen is experiencing. Her life seemed to allow her some goodness and beauty, just so it all could be consumed by darkness yet again. And with everything that she is confronted with, there is enough darkness to go around. Her life is turned into a living nightmare and not for the first time - but this time it isn't just her safety that she fears for.

It'd be easy for Helen to just give up and run back to her solitary life. There are moments when this is all she wants to do. But she always finds the strength to carry on - the strength that is buried within herself. Sometimes it is the fighter within her that coaxes the strength out of the deepest parts of her soul. Other times she needs a bit help from Liam - a gentle push in the right direction. And it is her trust in Liam that allows her to accept his guidance. Just like in the first book, I found her character nothing short of amazing, strong and admirable. Her ability to smile despite all the darkness and her willingness to dare to live a new life despite her long seclusion and the evil that lurks nearby earned my deepest respect.

And so did Liam. This guy truly proves himself to be the definition of a good guy. He doesn't treat Helen like a child or like she's inferior because of her disability. Yet, he knows to give her the right support concerning the horrors of her past and her different needs because of her blindness. His creativity and deep understanding of her personality allow him to find the right ways in order to help her to keep going and to not give up. He knows how to push her just enough without asking too much of her. He believes in her more than she believes in herself and he has no qualms about letting her know that. He isn't hesitant to show his growing feelings for her and God, is he sweet and sexy doing so. It's impossible not to crush on him.

They manage to get close and to acknowledge their growing attraction to each other. Even though they have known each other for a short time, there is no denying that they are meant for each other.
Just as their lives seem to be turning towards happiness, the darkness threatens to ruin everything yet again.

This book is amazing. Again, the lack of visual descriptions is refreshing and allows to focus more on the emotions. This enabled me to fully live in the story. Live in it so much, that the cliffhanger at the end nearly broke me into pieces.

Okay, so from book 1 we are lead by our curiosity to see what Helen's next move is. I started this read and part way through actually took a pause to read another book by one of my favorite authors. When I returned the heat between Liam and Helen begins to really build up. Unfortunetly, before they get too far they are interrupted by Grayson. The thing that puzzles me is I get that Liam is trying to show Helen how she can be strong and defend herself but I'm disgusted by how things are handled. Let me explain, first I love a protective H and a little posessive is good too for me and so Liam definetly has feelings for Helen but does not express himslef like a man would. What man would let any woman he cared for live in the same house as the man who raped her? I get she's independant but this h is even worse off because she is blind and the fact that after her and Liam's make out session she thinks about having to go to her room and push the dresser in front of her door to protect herself is really weird and disturbing to me. She obviously trusts Liam it makes no sense. So on top of all this her sister Carmen knows how vial Greyson is and that he hurt her sister but because she is pregnant she thinks she can change him. It will make you angry, as we all know someone exactly like Carmen. The girl needs her head examined and does not even let her finish telling her what he's done to her but the girl would have to be an absolute moron not to know. She has even been on the recieving end to his demented and vicious behavior. You guessed it though the girl makes excuses for the loser and marches down the aisle to seal her fate. So while I've been angry, puzzled and waiting for Liam and Helen to get together, finally, the book takes the final twist that once again turns everything on its head. All I can say is I'm glad that book 3 is out and that I got the boxed set. I already know that at the end of this final book in this boxed set will still leave Liam and Helen dangling in the wind so it's no shock to me. This is a clean book but can not be read as a standalone. Enjoy!

"Clarity 2" is another page Turner in the series. There is plenty of action and intrigue plus there were times I wanted to jump into the pages bank kick the butt of the protagonist. Unfortunately, this book wasn't the stellar read as the first book. Why? Well at times I felt the storyline became a little farfetched, the length of the book is too short ( it was more like a novella) and last but not least, an author this talented could have come up with a more creative title for the second book rather than Clarity 2.

The book continues where the first book ends. Helen recognizes her rapists voice and is dead set on keeping him away from her sister. Unfortunately, Helen's sister is keenly aware of the monster she is marrying and refuses to listen because she is three months pregnant ( Yeah, a little farfetched). However, Liam comes to the rescue and although Helen tries to send him away, he refuses to leave her. She shares her misery with him as well as the fact her sister's fiancee has threatened to kill her and her sister. Needless to say he is outraged.

Helen does not want to stay in her family home especially since her brother in law cancelled the honeymoon. Additionally, he begins seeking her out reminiscing the details of the attack. Then, Liam does the most endearing thing, he takes Helen to a self defense class. It is clear there is something growing between these two. The only question is whether or not Helen will open her heart up to him.

I loved the story except for the aforementioned items and I truly hope the author is not planning to string the readers along by only publishing a few chapters at a time because just as you are getting into the plot, the story ends and so far with cliffhanger. I don't know when the next book will be released but I for one cannot wait.
