Sometimes all a girl needs is a little fling… Talie Ronson needs a vacation. From life. Since she caught her cheating, loser husband in bed with his assistant, her life has been on a steady spiral—right into hell. Her car’s a junker, her job sucks, and her perfect, gorgeous sister likes to brag about her wonderful life every time they “do” lunch. In an effort to salvage what’s left of her life and her sanity, she takes the advice of her kooky best friend and takes off to Topsail Island. A week at the beach, alone, is exactly what she needs to recharge, regroup, and relax. Only, her alone time is about to get derailed. Gavin Palmer’s favorite activity is walking around in his boxers and eating junk food. He and his neighbors have an understanding. They stay out of his business and he stays out of theirs. He lives at the beach, not for vacation, but for isolation. He’s had enough of people to last him a lifetime. Gavin’s isolation is interrupted when his normally quiet neighbor starts disturbing his peace. He stomps across the sand to give the guy a piece of his mind… only it isn’t a guy. It’s Talie. She’d maddening, nosy, and talks too much. But she’s hot and her bedroom eyes have him thinking maybe he’s had enough solitude. Maybe a week of company is exactly what he needs. Maybe what they both need is a no-strings-attached tryst.

This was an okay contemporary romance, but I didn’t like the characters much.

Talie admittedly had a hard time in this book, and I felt really sorry for her after the way her husband was treating her. Walking in on your husband having sex with his secretary would be awful, and hom thinking that he had every right to do it would be even worse!

The storyline in this was okay, but Talie came across as quite angry and stroppy at times. I got that she had been having a rough time, but taking it out on someone who is rtying to help you when you’ve been stung by a jellyfish doesn’t seem right!

The romance in this all seemed to be quite rushed and angry too, and the characters didn’t seem to communicate well. They just seemed to have quick sex and then walk away from each other again, so it didn’t really feel like they were building a relationship, they were just taking out their sexual frustration on each other.

The ending to this was quite sappy, and while I was kind-of happy for them, I still didn’t really feel like their relationship had the best foundation.

Cambria Hebert has done it to me again! She has given me a hero to love, but more than that, she's give me a heroine that I can admire. It is no secret around my blog that I'm a huge fan of her writing, however, this book in particular was very different for me. Sometimes a book will just talk to you, and Tryst did!

Tryst is about a woman named Talie who walks in to find her man cheating on her. Instead of falling apart over it, she decides to get her life back. Everything that could go wrong for this woman, does. It is most definitely a series of unfortunate events. Imagine her surprise when she meets Gavin, our hero, through one of these events. I'm going to pause right now and tell you that I started cracking up over how they meet. The chemistry between the pair is instant.

Plot wise, Tryst might very well go on my favorites of the Take It Off series list. Well written, humorous, great plot, and it will keep you turning the pages. It is the 8th, standalone book in the series and yes, it does have an HEA.

If you're a fan of Cambria Hebert's, you are in for a treat with Tryst. Just try not to fall too much in love with Gavin. ;) If you've never read a book by her before, this is a great one to pick up! Full five star rating from me, I couldn't put it down.

I honestly enjoyed the beginning of the book! Talie wasn’t the having the best of weeks but the drama and craziness of it all was very interesting. This is the first book I’ve read fully since my 9 month reading slump so that has to say something. The romance was more the slow part for me and very cheesy loll .

Talie was an okay chracter, but I really have no idea what she was thinking when she married Blake. He was an ass.
I didn't like Gavin for the majority of the book, but I liked him at the end.

This wasn't the worst one in the series, but I didn't love it. The last quater was alright, but I found the rest of it to be pretty dull.

I'd rather be single than married and utterly alone. --Talie

This novel was kind of a roller-coaster for me. I loved Talie; she was so strong and resilient and didn't let anything knock her down for very long, even though she had the absolute worst luck. I liked Gavin...most of the time. He could be sweet, quirky and sexy, but he could also be a complete and overbearing asshole to Talie (especially in regards to her relationship with Blake, her cheating scum of an ex) that I just wanted to kick him in his nuts. Blake was an absolute jackass, Claire was a great bestie, and I'm excited to see if we encounter more of Stitch in future books. The ending was a bit dramatic, but I've weirdly been in the mood for and tolerant of semi-dramatic contemporaries lately so it worked. Overall, this wasn't my favorite in the series, but I'd say it's probably in the top half.

My Gavin, the uber moody and mysteriously sexy surfer next-door....

Talie is one smart cookie and I thought her totally generous that she at least left her cheating tw*t of a husband a dollar personally I would have left his a** a penny, "I went to the closest bank and transferred all the money out of our joint accounts and into my personal savings. Okay, not all of our money. I left him a dollar." Now let's move on from the unpleasantries to the pleasantries that's all Gavin, "sweetheart, I've known you all of five minutes and even I know you would trip and fall over the win. You certainly didn't need my help to go rolling down this hill." I mean I totally am in awe of Talie keeping her resolve in front of this sexy man, "you just can't stay out of trouble, can you?" He crossed his arms over his very broad chest. His very naked, smooth chest." He's not afraid to ask for what he wants, "I want you, I want to spend the next week burying my di** inside your body. I want to hear those little sounds of pleasure that you make just before you surrender to orgasm. I want uninhibited access to you until you leave." He makes threats so oh, so yummy, "don't you sass me. I'll smack that fine, bare a**." Also when the boy receives good news he's all over Talie like a wild animal, "he growled deep in his chest, the sound of an alpha claiming what was his. He lifted me off my feet and carried me into the house, not stopping at the couch or against the wall like we usually did." Talk about some hot friends Gavin has those and I want Stitch's story soon!

3.5 stars. I liked that Talie stayed strong. Thank goodness! But I felt zero connection to Gavin. Glad the sex was great but could not understand how she loved him when he gave her nothing else.

I adore the whole Take It Off series. You just can not go wrong with grabbing one of these books.
They are all a perfect little love story and Tryst was right up there as a perfect little tale.
Beach, sand, surf, hot sex, tragedy, love... all wrapped in one!
I loved how love came from pain.
Gavin and Talie are just the cutest couple!!

I loved how these two characters found love for themselves as people and also love within each other. I love books that take you on a journey from hard times to finding there is life and love after.

I would say Tryst is my 3 of the Take It Off series! This book is about Talie Ronson catching her cheating and arrogant husband in bed with his assistant. Her best friend Claire offers her an opportunity to help take care of her aunts house and cat-Salt aka demon cat.

What Talie doesn't expect is running into a stranger who tries to help her while stranded on the side of the road headed towards Topsail Island. After being towed and headed to the beach to escape her life from hell, her alone time is about to get more interesting.

Guess who is her next door neighbor? Your guess is right and this time he comes with a name, Gavin Palmer. Gavin is a quiet neighbor who doesn't want any kind of disturbance and can be the most irritating and upmost rude person that Talie doesn't understand how to deal with.

"I knew why he was showing up at night. It was because of the feelings. The feelings that kept bubbling to the surface whenever he looked into my eyes or entered my body. He thought coming when I was asleep would change it. He thought the darkness would make what lay between us harder to see. It wasn't."

Gavin offers Talie a no strings attached tryst. Of course, who wouldn't turn down someone as hot as he is, a blonde haired, blue eyed, muscular surfer with an alpha characteristic that just makes her maddening everytime she is around him.

Good times roll but the more they are with one another, sparks seem to fly but then Gavin puts more distance between them. Talie just wants someone to choose her and love her for being her and so she is left heart broken again.

"We were Velcro. He was the rough side and I was the soft. The closer he pressed, the more tightly we fused."

Will Talie's vacation help her heal old wounds or will she become shattered all over again?

What is Gavin's secret and why is he always putting distance between them?

One word to describe this super awesome book is perfection. This book is perfect in every way. The story is so good. You will laugh, you might cry, you will be super happy at how it ends.
You will fall in love with the characters. Talie is a walking disaster, I absolutely loved her. She was not perfect by any means, the author didn't make her a model or anything like that which was really good in my opinion. She was also super funny and very prone to accidents. She liked sex, lots and lots of it and sometimes the things she would think were so funny, I was laughing a lot with her.
Gavin is perfect, but broken. He is a loner, he likes to live alone and keep a simple life at the beach. I fell in love with him right away even though he was a little bit of a jerk, you just can't help it, like I said, he is perfect. When you discover the real reason why he is broken you might cry, at the very least you will get really sad.
The story is super romantic and it has some very super hot and steamy sex scenes.
I'll tell you a little bit about the story:
Talie (Natalie) finds out her husband is cheating on her, she loses her job and her best friend tells her that she needs a breather, a sort of vacation so she goes to her best friends aunt house at the beach. She meets Gavin there, her car broke down before she even makes it to the beach and Gavin is the one to help her. Then she finds out they are neighbors. Lots of funny things happen, many with a cat (there is a cat at the house that she is house sitting). Gavin likes to surf. They start getting friendly, mostly Talie trying to be friends with Gavin because she found him super hot. Then eventually they get close (if you know what I mean), super hot sexy scenes to follow and I won't tell you anything else, you need to read this book, it is one I am going to recommend to every one of my reading friends.
I have read a few books from this author and have loved every single one of them. This one might be my favorite so far.

I just finished Tryst and I really liked it. If you have not read her books, you guys are missing out. Tallie is in a stump in her marriage and is trying to spice things up. Problem is, is that her husband is already spicing things up......with his secretary. SHOCKER!!! Totally heartbroken, she leaves and is divorcing him. Hell, I dont even blame the girl. Yes, she does "talk" to him to get an understanding but of course he is saying he is sorry but never says that he wouldnt do it again so she is gone. Her friend Claire is needing helping at her Aunt's house so to let off some steam (cause she got fired too) Tallie goes and house sits. What she didnt expect is Gavin. Gavin has some secrets and it not wanting a releationship, but he can feel the attraction so they both agree to have benefits with each other. What they both didnt expect is each others secrets. You will have to read and see what happens.

I love Cambria's stories. They are quick and sexy and pack a hell of a punch. I am always so engrossed and I never EVER want to let it down. Trust me when I say that you will enjoy this and all of her other stories. She is an amazing author!

Gavin, sexy beast. He is just yummy and I totally get why he cannot/want a relationship. The things you learn, it is heartbreaking. Same thing with Tallie. She is balls to wall man. She give is back to Blake. Hard. She is hilarious but at the end of the day I felt bad for her two. They togther worked really well with their personalites, in and out of the bedroom. They were just YUMMY!!

I cannot wait to see what Cambria comes out with. They really are just amazing and enjoyable. You gotta get them now!

I love these little books from Cambria Hebert and this is no exception. A familiar storyline, wife walks in on cheating husband and his secretary. Wife throws husband out and despite some concern by her family starts divorce proceedings immediately. Then, the ultimate blow, her boss comes on to her, she gives him an emphatic "NO" and she's fired. She moves to the beach to house sit a friend of a friend's house (and feed her crazy cat). She meets beautiful, sexy neighbor by accident and sparks fly.

What makes Ms. Hebert's books so enjoyable to me are her characters. They aren't just stick drawn people dropped in a storyline. Each one is individual, quirky, very much having their own identity. In this case the girl is clumsy, terribly hurt by her husband's betrayal, but caring, loving and deep down a strong need to love and be loved. Neighbor boy is also caring, but has a deep down sadness that he is obviously fighting, says he wants only a physical affair but then his actions are in stark contrast to his words. I really liked both these characters.

(I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.) I can't believe this is book #8 in this series that isn't really a series as each is a standalone. And I love this one just as I've loved all of the ones before. Talia is such a great character. I love that she stood up for herself and never faltered. And I so hated Blake, but who wouldn't? Another great story from Cambria.

Tryst was the 8th book in Cambria’s Take It Off Series but was the 3rd book in 2nd Box Set. I really liked the storyline except that she was still married. I know, they were “separated” but still...I don’t like cheating. Putting that aside, I fully enjoyed Tryst. It was a sexy, beachside romance! It was full of emotions from laughter to tears.

Talie needed a break; not only did she find her husband cheating but she was fired from her job. When her best friend offered her a week at the beach and she took it. Except the week really wasn’t turning out as planned - between her car breaking down, the cat getting out and trying to burn the house down, what else could go wrong?

Gavin kept to himself. He wasn’t at the beach for vacation, it was his salvation. He wasn’t ready to get involved with anyone but when Talie came crashing into his life, could he stop the inevitable?

They each had secrets that would change their lives forever. When they surfaced, would it bring them together or forever pull them apart?

Gavin and Talie were on fire!! I loved seeing them together (except the whole Tallie was still married detail). What a sweet and sexy beach romance!

I'm slowly making my way towards the end of this series.

Tryst is a bit different from the first 7 books, it doesn't really have any suspense in the story. A bit tention here and there with the Ex husband but nothing to drastic. Talie is a walking disaster, every thing she does somthing goes wrong, picking seashells, driving, making food, chasing a cat. Whatever, it was pretty funny to see, a bit too much but still i had a good time with her character. Then we have Gavin, the blond dude we don't know nothing about till the last chapter or so. He was fine, his story was sad but we don't really get much from him.

The book was fine. This book was better then the last two or so, but not as good as the first ones.
I like the begining, how she handled the whole husband thing, the ending was a bit rushed i feel like. Its insta lovey. fast paced, overdramatic and rushed. But i still had a good time and thats all we need.

Absolute dream to be honest I didn't know if I was going to like it not because it was one voice but the nature of the story. But soon as I got to know Natalie and her story it's very relevant for the story to progress i enjoyed the witt the humour and romance and laughed out loud. Involving Natalie and Gavin and Stitch and Claire and many , it not like the previous 7 Novels of Take it off but I enjoyed . Just read

Good?: yes
Recommend?: yes
Reread?: no
Why?:
The story is literally absolutely adorable, I can see where her head was at. But......the story is them being separated. They had like 3 interactions throughout the book while he is undercover. And he is undercover for like 90% of the book. I don’t feel like their relationship is genuine, they didn’t really talk all that much.
3 stars because I didn’t feel the connection/chemistry because I couldn’t figure out if the relationship started yet or not.

Talie and Gavin

Talie is recently separated from her cheating husband and went to a beach house for a vacation and to get away from him. Gavin is the recluse living next door. Talie came into Gavins life and was able to put him back together after his wife died years earlier. Things happen very quickly in this book as they do in most of Cambrias books but I am overall happy with the story line.

I liked this one, despite Gavin being an ass for most of the story. I feel like he kind of had a reason for it, but he could have handled it a bit better. And poor Talie, it’s just not her week! She had a shitty time, and accidents upon accidents (she’s a total klutz), but she got her family in the end and I loved to see that! I think Talie and Gavin fit very well together, after Gavin got his head out of his ass.
