The way this book started out is actually WILD!! Reminded me so much of Octavia Grants writing. I didn’t know that this book was part of a series and it definitely made me want to read the other books because the ending left me wanting more!!

Well this was a painful read 🥴
Mycah was a successful professional that was thriving in her design career. She was engaged to a doctor and had a bright future ahead of her only to end it with one stupid 🍑 decision after she cheated on her fiancé with a not so random around the way 🥷. The way the author wrote this scene had Mycah looking real big bird ish, real pigeon like and I didn’t not like her character at all.
The way she played in her fiancé’s face was foul af and while I will never condone a man putting his hands on a woman, I can 1,000% understand his need to choke her out. Then she turns around and gets the offer of a lifetime from millionaire mogul Jagger ( 20 years of separation) that she was not even a little bit deserving of.
I assumed the story would be more about Jagger and the happiness he deserved after the betrayal of his ex wife and instead is centered on Mycah and her selfishness, getting the HEA that she did not deserve. This story and the way various parts played out were poorly thought out and I did not enjoy the concept of this story at all. This was an introductory read from this author thanks to the BRAE event and unfortunately was a huge let down.

The way this book jumped off from the start. I need this type energy all the time!
Of course I don’t condone cheating nor a man putting his hands on a woman but honeyyyy.. this book was so more than that .
When you desire something, you have to experience it to get it out of your system. And that exactly why Mycah had to get with long time crush even tho that meant cheating on her long time boyfriend . However that boyfriend ended up finding out and getting physical on her. Automatically turn off.
Mycah was meant to find her happiness and she did with a client who took her on a winter trip. And the rest is history.
This was an awesome quick read. It got straight to the point and I loved every bit of it.

Age Ain't Nothing But A Number
Mycah was in a relationship with her long term boyfriend of 4 years and was tired of being placed on the back burner. It took for her boyfriend, Colton, to miss her birthday and a party she had planned a while ago. Mycah crosses path with a high school crush and decides to fulfill a fantasy that cost her the 4 year relationship. She goes to now estranged boyfriend and tries to apologize but he became a coward and put his hands on her. All in the midst... The silver fox aka Jagger has his eyes set on the prize and takes advantage of his time to make his move. Lets just say all it takes is one trip to Aspen. This short read is good. There are a few typo errors here and there but the story line was good.

The FMC - young, messy, and stupid as hell. I fell asleep reading this and then woke up, started over, and wondered why I hadn't DNF'd. Just needed a silly, palate-cleansing read, I guess. I did need to read something un-serious. But I couldn't connect. The story ended with a quote from The Player's Club, like it was a movie the FMC took life advice from, so that speaks volumes about her. Can't relate.

I received this book thanks to BRAE event. This is my first book by the author. Mycah was messy with the way she handled her relationship. I was expecting some tension between Onika and Mycah. I can't wait until Naseer finds out what Mycah has been up to. Jaggar is giving BDE. I must go back and read his story.

So cheating is not a typical “go” for me in books so this opening with very in your face cheating and then moving to abuse was wild 😭 I wasn’t ready.
Once we’re past these events Mycah is invited on a holiday getaway with one of her clients. 20 years her senior and with her job on the line, Mycah has her concerns but she decides to take a leap. I like Jagger, but I think we spent more time figuring out who the story would ultimately be about than really solidifying chemistry with our main couple. Overall, an interesting read with a couple that seems to have an even better story brewing!

The beginning of this novella was absolutely insane. and then it just fell flat for me. this has the potential to be a really good smutty novella but just fell short. an entertaining, quick read and I would entertain the second one because it was so short but wanted more for the book after the first chapter.
