In the midst of some courses and other books and cases I have been reading, this book was an amazing overview of certain background skills and ideals that a counsellor should have. It will stay on my shelf too because, through it, there were little activities and links and quotes that brought in a lot of great thinkers and practitioners that I haven't read fully yet. Defs makes me want to practice some of these skills and actually get some qualifications. Great book. good collection and overview of a subject that can be super detailed but presented in clear and simple and practical ways.

This book was in the reading list for my counselling skills course. I really enjoyed reading this book and I think the information is presented in a clear way with interesting case study examples. This book will be useful when revising and studying for higher level counselling courses
