I was given this bundle in exchange for an honest review. Dark Passions is fairly large (762 pages) box set featuring erotica with a darker edge. Some were just BDSM themed but others were on the extreme side, so be aware that triggers abound. Some of them I enjoyed, others weren’t exactly to my taste. Here is my breakdown on my thoughts of each book included, and how I landed on this rating.
1. Terry Towers writing as Elixa Everett – I Conjure Thee: This was a very cool new dark paranormal erotica tale. Sometimes you get sick of vampires and shifters, so a dominating genie is a novel idea. Very sexy, but not overly dark. I give this 4 stars.

2. Skye Eagleday – Sex Research: This one I didn't like at all really. It features two storylines. The first one revolves around a Professor and the kinky tasks he assigns to his pretty assistant all in the name of helping their sex research project. Though not mind blowing, this portion of the story at least kept me reading. The other story arc, centered on a almost carbon copy of Native American version of Christian and Anna from the Fifty Shades series. This one did me in. I was able to finish it, so I rating this 2 stars.

3. Aya Fukunishi – Her Submission: This is some crazy kink that begins in sex club and ends with an untutored waitress, engaging in bondage games in order to make tuition. I liked this, though the kink went out my comfort zone at times. It’s getting 3 ½ stars.

4. Emilie Criss – A Stranger’s Hand: This is some sci-fi mind trip kept me on the edge of my seat, just trying to figure out what was going on. I found it very different because it’s not genre I normally explore. There is kink, but nothing over the top. This one gets 3 ½ stars

5. Abby Weeks – Tangled Rose: This is a prequel to a book, I previously really enjoyed. This is very dark, and scary. I really liked the other book, but this went way outside me comfort zone. I am open to dark themes, but do need things prettied up a bit. There wasn't anything wrong with the storytelling. We just weren't kink compatible. I was physically revolted by a guy that played a prominent role in the plot. He was in the previous book I enjoyed, but the sex was a quick flashback. I didn't get far enough in to feel comfortable rating it honestly.

6. Cheri Verset – Savage Bikers Lust: This biker erotica cautionary tale about the dangers of silly girl, taking more than candy from hot biker strangers started off with a bang. I really got into chemistry between these two. Unfortunately the ending went somewhere weird and unnecessarily unrealistic even for a sexy read. This would have gotten 4, but the ending knocked it down to 3 stars.

7. Savannah Reardon – The Queen Slave: This space ship erotic tale about a defeated queen forced into sexual slavery was a harder edged storyline I expected, unlike a few of the other stories. Dark, and uncomfortable just how I like it. Once again I’m a little thrown off by the ending. This gets a solid 3 stars.

8. Adele Allaire – One Night, Three Hearts: In all honesty, I am not a fan of BBW or ménage storylines. The fact this featured both is greatly contributing to my ‘meh” response. I’m giving it 2 stars with extreme prejudice. Someone into one or both of those themes might enjoy this.

9. J.E. & M. Keep – Outcast: This one is twisted dark tale about a half-demoness bandit, being turned on by her partners in crime is horribly awesome. If loving you is wrong, I don’t want to be right. My only complaint was the abrupt ending, which continues in the next book. Giving this 4 stars.

10. Alara Branwen & Christie Sims – Ravaged by the Ogre’s Tribe: If you've ever been curious about monster porn/horror erotica, this might be a good introduction to the genre. What happens when a female soldier gets captured by the enemy Goblin horde? Well this isn't Goosebumps by R.L. Stine , that’s for sure. I've obviously got issues because this gets 3 stars.

My overall rating averaged to 3 stars. Though not perfect, the price makes it good deal. Some of my lower ratings were taste based, and it is very possible some might be more your speed.

Most of the stories in this book are very dark and/or highly erotic and may push the boundaries of many readers. Some are brutal, descriptive, violent, and include non-con sex, multiple partners and details that may prompt unpleasant triggers for some people. Although I am not a fan of novellas/short stories, the book introduced me to authors I was unfamiliar with, some of which I’ll be checking out. Here are my thoughts on some of them:
Elixa Everett– I Conjure Thee Short story of a woman casting a spell that goes awry. Short and highly erotic, not as dark as the others, some BDSM and a very hot, dangerous Djinn who is actually surprisingly tender and loving. I really enjoyed this one. Aya Fukunishi – Kathryn’s Training Divided into three parts, the first part is the story of a normal college girl discovering pleasure as a Sub. In the second part she’s a sub-in-training with a Mistress. A lot of long BDSM scenes. I ended up skimming the third part, the girl was beginning to sound like a well-trained pet and I didn’t like the hero, the heroine, or the other female secondary characters. Abby Weeks – Tangled Rose A prelude to what happens to Rose prior to the book Tainted Rose, when she is first captured by the DRMC. The story is well-written but I wouldn’t consider this a romance in any way. It’s very dark and throughout the entire story the heroine is emotionally, sexually and mentally abused and tortured. Not for the faint of heart but a great companion to the full-length novel. Cheri Verset – Savage Bikers Lust Story of a girl who decides to run off with a biker, seeking adventure. Enjoyed the 1st person POV although the heroine was TSTL most of the time. The biker is horrible so for the most part I really disliked them both. The ending was rushed and anti-climatic but I did like the writing. Savannah Reardon – The Queen Slave Fantasy story about a kidnapped queen turned sex slave. Average story for me, did not really grab me. Adele Allaire – One Night Three Hearts It read like one very long sex scene between a married couple and their friend, who is asked into their bed in order to get the heroine pregnant and help revive their sex lives. Basically a very long ménage, very erotic but I found nothing really stood out for me. I did like the writing so would probably check out longer books by this author. Alara Branwen & Christie Sims – Ravaged by the Ogre’s Tribe Started off really well in a fantasy setting, but then became more horror than erotica. Not romantic at all, more of a loathsome scenario where a female soldier is getting raped by disgusting goblins.
My average rating is 3-3.5 stars, some stories I enjoyed a lot more than others. The scenarios are very different so overall enjoyment does depend on personal taste.

I am a fan of dark erotica, but it is not for the faint of heart, you may want to sample it first and make sure it is for you. Lots of great reads to choose from and a little something for everyone for a great price. It was hot and sexy and some parts took my breath away. This is a great way to find new author to add to your favorites list, I know I did.

I'm a big fan of a lot of the authors in this boxed set, and I've started reading more dark romance, so I was really excited to check this one out. I started dark romance with Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters, and basically from there I was hooked. It's a tricky thing with these types of stories, though, you know? Sometimes it can get a little too dark... or sometimes it's not dark enough. I like the right amount of darkness, though it's difficult to say exactly what that is.

I'm happy to say that, for me, this boxed set had the right touch! I haven't read every single book yet, but I've read most of them, and the ones I've read are definitely worth it, especially for the price.

I'm a big fan of Skye Eagleday and I think most of Skye's stories are always so interesting. Most of Skye's stories take a different sort of twist from the norm, and they're always interesting and exciting to read because of that. I liked this one, because it was sort of dark, but also with some of my other favorite genre things (BDSM and billionaires, I'm a huge fan of both, haha). Great story there!

I haven't read a ton of Elixa Everett's stories, specifically, but I've been a huge Terry Towers fan for awhile now. I like her coffeeshop girl's books, but those are a bit more lighthearted. This was a dark turn away from that, though with a writing style I really like, and I enjoyed her book a lot.

Abby Weeks' Tangled Rose is one of my favorite darker MC romances, and I read that one before getting this boxed set and loved it. I'm a huge fan!

Cheri Verset's books sometimes take a turn for the dark and forbidden, and this one was definitely like that. It was a nice story, though. A perfect sort of dark.

I really enjoy most of M. Keep's books, too. I've read a lot of others, but hadn't had a chance to read this one yet.

I'm still working on some of the other stories, but I've read books by Savannah Reardon and Alara Branwen before, too. Emilie Criss and Adele Allaire are new to me. I recognize Aya Fukunishi's name, but I don't know if I've read anything from her before... I think I have. (I have to go look now... I can't remember!)

If you like dark romance, and boxed sets, this is basically a sure thing. It's a great deal and for some great stories by some great authors. I'm already a huge fan of most of it, and I like that I get to try something new from other authors, too. Definitely highly recommended! I think you'll enjoy it a lot.

I had not read books by any of these authors until this boxed set and some I'm not bothered about but others I definitely will read more of. The authors I'm not keen on are because of the genre they write, I'm not interested in fantasy, paranormal or futuristic, just doesn't do it for me.
I don't usually like Biker books but both Tangled Rose (Abby Weeks) and Savage Bikers Lust (Cheri Verset) were good reads, both dark and twisted.
Skye Eagleday's book Sex Research was a fun read, love the quote "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me. So throw me down, tie me up, and show me how you like me." I got into the characters in this book and really disliked the professor and his wife (in a good way), they got me riled up and wanting to yell at Shauna to stop, they're using her.
Aya Fukunishi 'Kathryn's Training' features all 3 parts in this collection. The story isn't about love but purely an innocent girl seen as an experiment by an experienced Dom who has 6 other subs in his home. His actions showed me a whole new perspective on humiliation; what he makes her do in the shop made me embarassed for her. The induction was a huge mindf**k but on the otherhand the description of the age play had me giggling over my coffee in Costa. Aya writes really well and has some very imaginative ideas for the dominant. I will seek out more of her books. (my only issue was referring to a woman's secretions as honey, but no book is perfect and this is just my personal gripe).
Adele Allaire 'One Night Three Hearts' got my attention too and has me wanting to know what happens next. What happens now? Will Matt come back? Is her husband really ok with this? I gather this another book to come but Amazon only has a short taster of it so I will have to wait for the next book.
My absolute favourite book in this collection is A Stranger's Hand by Emilie Criss. Right from the very start I was gripped, it was creepy "you are willing, Jacqueline. You just don't know it yet". I was continually changing my mind between who was the good guy and who was the bad guy and I still don't know if I'm right. There is a sequel being written the authors website says, 'A Stranger's Touch' and it can't come soon enough as I need answers!

I Conjure Thee (Enslaved To The Djinn) by Elixa Everett - Review 5-18-14
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

A Stranger's Hand by Emilie Criss

A very odd story.. Jacqulien and Nathan, not bad ...just yeah odd Id say.
A mixture of mystery, passion and a love forgot. Jackie has been taken from her husband, at the beginning.. she was told she would forget her husband, that she would beg for her captor's touch. Of course Jackie just smirked because she knew beyond a doubt, she didnt want her jailors touch. After two weeks she finds herself trying to convince herself of just that.. it was good story, longer that I thought. It is just one you will have to read to understand. Enjoy

Tangled Rose by Abby Weeks - Reviewed 5-23-14

Youre not going to be able to feel anger for Rose, or the need to want to help her, when she is kidnapped by a biker gang. The well known and brutal DRMC, is holding Rose.
Rose is physically abused, mentally tortured.. her soul laid bare, she has no one that will miss her and no on to care that she is gone.
This was for the most part a good read, dark and dirty... the pace was good, the characters meshed well. I do have to say a few times I felt the need to take a shower to get the ooze off. (smile)

Ok, this is my second attempt to this review. So, let's just get to the nitty gritty, shall we? This boxed set was a good read. I enjoyed the stories. The last two in this series were not my cup of tea. I found myself skipping through pages and then just skipping the story entirely. These authors that are in this set I have never heard of. I enjoyed the stories and enjoyed the characters. Some of the stories ended well as a short novella should. Then, with some of the stories I told myself "What just happened?" "Did it end?" I was left wondering what became of the characters an how did it end? Yes, there is some dark romance and I did enjoy those parts, but the fact that they are dark is what makes it good! Right? I think I may go and check out to see if I can find how certain stories ended. The only complaint I think I have is that the authors should have written in the ending of their novellas "To see more in this series" "To find out more of this author" and place links because honestly I would have checked some of them out.

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank You, Net Galley.

It took me a few days to read this anthology, I read one or 2 stories and then read another book in between. There are some stories that I really enjoyed, others were ok. I will not be mentioning any specific stories because I've decided to review this book as a whole and overall I really enjoyed them all. There are a few authors that I will be looking out for and will definitely be reading the continuation of some of these stories as I want to find out what happens to some of the characters introduced here. And I will be reading other works by some of the authors also as I can see potential in them.
This is a great collection of dark romance, although some stories are darker than others. The genres varies, but there’s something for everyone, contemporary, paranormal, MC, take your pick. So even if one of the genres is not your cup of tea there are others who will be. I must say I was pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoyed these.

ARC provided by Fido Publishing via NetGalley for an honest opinion

I have to confess that I’m not one to typically read dark erotic novels. I’m not uncomfortable with the subject; it is just not one that I’ve read on a regular basis. All of these books were very well written – VERY explicit on the XXX side, so be warned, this is not your rated G Harlequin Romance boxed set!!

I do have to say that I’m not a person that is interested in pain related scenes or bondage, so I did find myself skipping over those parts. I’m very claustrophobic, so yes, those parts got skipped or I might have found myself waking up with some very bad nightmares - - which tells you how well the authors “painted” their scenes with their descriptions.

For a very well written set of 10 books from some of the outstanding writers in erotic fiction at such a low price, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend.

I've recently been hooked on dark erotic romances, and this collection includes some really steamy examples of the genre. There's a little something for everyone here--capture fantasy, kinky relationships, rough-tough bikers, demonic fantasy lovers, etc. All alpha and all hot.

Most of these authors are pretty new to me, but I will definitely be reading more of their work. I particularly enjoyed Terry Towers' (Elixa Everett) romance about what a woman would be willing to agree to if she had only one chance to save her dying son. Emilie Criss' capture fantasy romance took an unexpected and unique twist that I loved. And Cheri Verset's biker romance shows what happens to a girl who longs for adventure when she rides off with the exciting stranger who comes to town. The other stories are all great, too.

Highly recommended for folks who like their romance on the dark and edgy side.

This is a 10 book collection and I am giving an honest review for the authors. This box set has just about something for everyone and for every taste in books.

All these book have some sort of darkness to them and their story lines. Each author has brought his or her own spin on the darker side of romance books.

I must say that a few of these books had me at the edge of my seat they were so good. I do not know all of the authors but with this box set I have met some new authors to add to my reading collections.

This collection is not for everyone so if you are not into dark romance stories then I suggest you skip over this set but if you are a mature reader(over 17) because of the sexual content of the books and like the dark side of romance books then you will want to pick this set up for the price.

The main advantage I have always found with boxsets of various authors is the ability to discovers authors you’ve never heard of, sample them and their writing styling. Such is the case of Dark Passions. 10 authors all writing on the edgier side of romance. Professors, bikers, demons, Billionaires. BDSM and erotica in paranormal, space and MC worlds. This collection has something here for everyone that they will like as well as push their boundaries. A great collection to try out and sample.

Word of advice. There’s bound to be triggers here so not every story is for everyone.

I conjure thee
Wow I was surprised and seriously enjoyed this one. I was expecting just sex and not much more to a story. However i was wrong and I'll admit it. Clarissa will do anything to save her son including summoning a Djinn. What she doesn't expect to get is something else entirely.
For the chance to save her son...Tony knows she will do anything...including being his. I enjoyed the story and really wish there was more too it because I didn't want it to end.
Sex Research
This book is similar to two other books with the similar synopsis just different character names. Anyways it was okay. It could have been so much more. Between Courage and Benton and the mix in of Jacob, his wife and Shauna it can get very confusing and hard to read.
Kathryn’s Training
I’m up in the air about this one. First a girl doing what she has to to make ends meet is fine. But the whole scenario on how she meets Master Patrick just sort of ticked me off. Like really? I would have kicked him and the old guy in the balls. Once you get passed that it's a good read. Kathryn has been exposed to strippers and BDSM a lot through the last year...now it's her turn to open her eyes.
Well it would be nice to be warned about the storylines you are going to be reading. For some reason i have no problem wiht it but the quick switch bothers me. You go from there being M/F to F/F and Master Patrick having a house full of women to please him when ever he so chooses. I have no problem with that. However I just wish the author could make up her mind what exactly Kathryn is. Vanilla, Submissive, Dominant, or just one of many. If he has a house full of women....why does he need one more?
Seriously crappy ending. I mean whats the point of the build up to let it drop like that? I can forgive a lot but not that.
A Stranger’s Hand
Different and seems to always be twisting turns. It wasn't a five star book but it was a quick fun read.
Tangled Rose
Tangled Rose is the beginning of the Darkness trilogy. Rose was part of an MC club when she was younger or at least her dad was. So many years ago Wars started and she has been left alone. Now she has been taken and this is her story of how they kidnapped her, abused her, and made her into what she is now. Preparing her for her new life.
These books are not for everyone, but they are still good reads.
Savage Bikers Lust
Life isn't always better on the other side and Madden learns that the hard way. Tired of living in her trailer, being a waitress and having a good guy wanting her. She leaves with the first bad boy she can find. Curtis isn't good. he's part of an MC and takes Madden on a ride she will never forget.
I didn't like this one that much because it was so I have no idea. Predictable? I mean seriously she knows she made a mistake and goes for teh one who was there all along. Like we didn't see that coming.
The Queen Slave
Not what I was expecting at all. Neenah is Queen of her planet and is a virgin. As another race attacks and takes her captive she knows she'll be auctioned off and made a sex slave for the price she'll fetch being a virgin.
What she doesn't expect is Max. Her buyer to be who he is. During her training and life as a slave she meets two new friends, and finds out the real reason to why her planet was attacked. From there the story takes a turn you really dont expect. all in all it was pretty good.
One Night Three Hearts
Rose has a secret from her husband. The best man at her wedding, her husband's best friend and her share something that she keeps it secret. Now after years of trying, Jason and Rose are not pregnant, they can't afford much and their relationship is suffering. Enter Matt. ITs hot and makes you want to read the rest to know what exactly happens.
Outcast
Outcast is about four bandits on the constant move to keep themselves away from those who would willingly turn them in for the bounty on their heads. Elin is half demon and sneered upon by the others except their leader. It's a fun read, different, and leaves you wanting more.
Taken by the Ogre tribe
One person, Maria, the captain of the guard. Doesn't realize what she's up against when it comes ot the ogres but this time she can't escape. She's there prisoner. It was okay.

I know going in to the "bundle specials" that ...it is usually a way to get you enticed in a story, so that you will buy the next one. And I now know why these got put together, because nobody would buy them alone!

I Conjur Thee.....laughable.... *shakes my head*

Sex Research (BDSM Billionaire Romance) ....over the BDSM Billionaire story line.

Her First Submission (Kathryn's Training #1)....if you want a just sex story, this is your book. Poorly written.....

A Stranger's Hand (Never Forget Him) was enticing, sort of, I guess, but I wasn't invested in the characters, I won't get the next one.

Tangled Rose......GAH!! I really don't enjoy biker stories and this just RE-affirmed it.
It's gross. I won't be buying the next one.

Savage Bikers Lust....good lord!! Another biker disaster....I would give this one 0 stars.

And that is as far as I got.

Hopefully this has curbed any desire to buy bundles. They are most definitely a disappointment.

NetGalley Free Book

Ten Erotic stories each with a different theme. The men are everything a woman could want and the woman are exactly what the men need.

These stories were definitely different. Some of them were more tame than others, while others bordered on XXX Rated. I liked the first book "I Conjure Thee." A paranormal romance with BDSM in it. Believe it or not it bordered on a wholesome relationship. The second book was "One Night, Three Hearts." This one was another book that had a plot that was actually fantastic. Each one of these Ten books were predictable. Some of them were brutal and very hard to read.

Some of the authors wrote with a professional flair and others seemed to be stunted. It is hard to review 10 different books in one when 2/5ths of the book were good and the rest were just too haunting or bad writing.

I kept thinking maybe the next one

Maybe the next one will be better... This box set was awful. I Conjure Thee wasn't bad but the rest... ugh. I love the dark genre. I don't have a problem with violence, non-con/dub-con, rape scenes, foul language, etc. What I do have a problem with are boring plots and this anthology is full of them. On top of that, I did finally read something that even I can't stomach. One of the books goes into consensual incest- brother and sister getting off with eachother--in graphic detail. Not step-siblings, full blooded brother and sister. I can read almost anything (see list above) but this grossed me out, especially because it was mutually consensual. I wish I could give this zero stars.

I received it in exchange of an honest review! 3,5 stars!!! Honestly for all kind of tastes! Some were great read, well written and full of heat! I actually discovered 3 new authors and bought more of their work! The others not so much! Maybe it was me, but i had a hard time finishing some of them! Slow, not built enough to be really interesting or a little confusing because the story had several main focus characters and they were not entwined in a smooth way! It was a little chaotic! Fairly, they all had a creative topic and some could have been so much better! My overall experience wasn't an amazing one but the 3 books that i did enjoy were worth it!!!

This is a great combination of Dark Romance filled with contemporary, PNR Fantasy styles the will wet anyone’s appetite.

I enjoyed the diversity woven between each story and the opportunity to experience different authors I have not had the pleasure of absorbing before. Add in the HEAT between characters, the alpha male factor and the fact that you have 10 books in one…you can’t go wrong.

I would definitely recommend this method as a good way to expose a yourself to the naughty pleasures offered by different genres.

This is a review for sex research by Skye eagleday. I did not like this at all. It was very hard to follow and just plain did not make sense. I was confused most of the book because of the abrupt changes between characters and different times.

This is a review for the rest of the novellas. This was just too heavy bdsm for me. I can handle light bdsm but this was way too dark for me. I could not finish it.

Unfortunately labeled as edgy, the stories did nothing for me. I loved I Conjured Thee by Elixa Everett. Great short story and felt like a complete story. Sexy, sweet, romantic and erotic. The others fell short. Rape, humiliation, kidnapping, and degradation should not be labeled as "edgy". Ever. A warning needs to be added to the book because these are sensitive matters.

***ARC from NetGalley in Exchange for an honest review***

DNF. The first story read like a complete novella and I enjoyed it. Then I went on and I just got creeped out more and more…I am glad I went for this sample…it highlighted the fact that this genre is NOT for me. Too out there. Too dark. Not my idea of love or romance. Sorry.

Not a real fan of dark erotica, but overall found this series interesting. If being honest would have leaned to a 2.75 in the star rating. It introduced me to some new authors that I might not have read otherwise and plan to look into more of their work. This series is not for the faint of heart or the woman looking for warm hearted romance.

Warning: Not for the faint hearted!!
A little dark for me but overall some of the books were well written & enjoyed them.
In all the books the men were major alpha's that bowed down to no women & took what they wanted but somehow grew a heart in the end.
