In my mind, Mac Walker would look like a 38 yr old Chuck Norris. This book reminded me so much of the Norris action flicks of the 80's. Not saying that in a bad light, as I loved Chuck's movies like "Missing In Action" and "Invasion U.S.A.".

Lots of action, but in a odd way, I wanted more. Maybe due to the length of the story, I felt the author shaved off the big climactic fight at the end. All the build up in the story and it ended pretty quiet. In the movies, Mac Walker would have been fighting on the plane just over the Vatican trying to save the day. See Harrison Ford in Air Force One. I'd give this story 3.5 stars if I could, so I'll bump it up to 4 stars because as I mentioned above, it reminded me of the 80's action movies.

And yes, I plan to read more of Mac Walker. I recently downloaded 3 free short stories and I have MAC WALKER'S BETRAYAL The Collection by D.W. Ulsterman on my Kindle already. After I read all those, I will use the Kindle Unlimited to catch up on all the other 3 Mac Walker stories in Mac Walker: The Collection. This collection has all 8 Mac Walker stories (short and long). I figure to have read 5 stories before I borrow this one. So sit back and enjoy Mac Walker kick some butt.

Enjoyed this fast moving story about an old hard-liner ex-Navy Seal that could have been 5 stars had it the opportunity of a good editor and eye for details. Mac Walker is returning to Washington DC after a well earned vacation and prior to accepting a new position in Project Icon, an elite anti-terrorist organization. Stasia is also on the Boeing 767 and a member of the Vatican equivalent to Mac's. The airliner is hijacked shortly out of Paris and flown to a remote island off Tunisia where they are met with armed militia, terrorist mercenaries, and something appearing to be biological weapons intended for a major attack against the Vatican. Stasia and Mac join forces to retake the plane, save the passengers and the Vatican, and live to fight another day. The story moves along at a good clip, the characters evolve into real people, and the plot progresses well with believable interaction between governmental agencies. I got this book as a free download and enjoyed the easy escapist read. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick, fun thriller.

Kick some ass, kill'em all and let god sort them out! If you're looking for an invincible hero this is the book for you. Mac Walker takes no prisoners. Period. From the moment I started reading this story, I couldn't put it down. Despite needing some work in the editing department (typos and misused words), this story pulled a 5 star rating out of me. If people like Mac Walker really exist, and on some level we all want to believe they do, let's hope they're fighting on our side. This is an Action Adventure that won't disappoint even die-hard Clancy fans. Good job Ulsterman.

A1

Good quick read. Excellent story line. Being a Reacher fan this is right in there. Between the two I should be able to fill my reading schedule.

Could be a lot better. The characters and plot are kind of wooden. Some proofreading errors, not major.

Couldn't finish. Boring writing, shallow characters, all telling and no showing. Full of 'what the hell' moments that are, frankly, impossible to believe.

As a novel this would for made a great graphic novel with it been action based and the dialogue could easily of fitted in speech bubbles. Our hero Mac Walker is a larger than life character a cross between Rambo, James Bond and action man and is determined to put the world to rights. This was written not long after 9/11 and is full of American patriotism. I enjoyed it, found it action packed and strangely compelling , but will I finish the series? Jury is still out on that.

Mac Walkers 40,000 Feet

This was a really good story that holds all your attention from start to finish. The story is non stop action throughout, but not one that is overly complicated.

Overtaking a hijacked airplane

Mac Walker Told Ray Tilley after vacationing in Paris he would join up with Project Icon. Now at 40,000 feet in this hijacked airplane he had one choice to save everyone on board.

He found himself working with another passenger aboard, Stasia Wellington who he learned was a Vatican special ops. Between both they had to work his plan to stay alive.

A military thriller with a former Navy Seal sniper that was exciting and filled with suspense. Terrific book.

Good book, but too short.

That's why I gave the book a three. I am sure other readers have gone over the story line so I won't bother. I like the Mac Walker character, but when I read a good mystery, I look forward to a lot of twists and turns and hopefully at least 8 hours of reading time. I certainly wasn't bored and the book kept my interest, so I will try the next Mac Walker book and hope it takes longer to read than 4 hours. Hope you read this Mr Ulsterman.

It will happen again

This novel is about a airline hijack. Reminds me of one's in the past. How true it can be. We aren't prepared for the unwarranted future. Our militaries are miniscule, bases closed with no future to re-open. This series is eye opener for many or at least should be.
Seeing it in print if frightening. Why? Because if one person sees it or thinks it how many others that do.

A fairly good action story centered around the induction of Mac Walker, Navy SEAL into a ultra-secret organization in the US government. This induction process goes awry when the 767 Mac is on when returning from his vacation in France is hijacked my muslims intent on using the jet to deliver chemical agents Vatican City, killing tens of thousands. This is a quick and enjoyable read.

Fast paced thriller

The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star story is the plethora of typos. Pane/pain, plan/plane, as well as several sentences with misspelled words AND the correct ones as well. But enough of that...Mac Walker is a wonderful character -- former Navy Seal, determined to do whatever is needed to protect the innocent.

Another Ulsterman book I couldn't put down until the end.

The evil concept has such potential and credibility that I hope the wrong people don't think it a viable option and take advantage of the idea. That said, it's a compelling read and an insight into the insanity of radical Islam. ( Oh, I shouldn't be using that term, political correctness and all.)

Based around a hijacking, this is fast paced and enjoyable fun. The hero is your average ex-military action man, determined and honourable, with the usual dislike for authority. Joined by another typically gorgeous female agent they work to solve the situation.

Rip Roaring Read

This fast paced book has it all - a worthy hero, a villainous plot, action, tension, humor, and a touch of romance. I enjoyed the tale and will read more of this series.

Action from the start

The book was a good fast read. I enjoyed meeting the characters, However I would have liked a bit more character development. The book read very fast, I could not put it down. Hopefully this will be a start of a series. I will watch for a next chapter.

Talk about "24"

This is the first book I've read by D.W. Ulsterman but certainly not my last. I love covert ops books and the Patriots portrayed within. We need men like Mac Walker defending our country from foreign AND domestic entities.
