She hears ghosts. They pretend to hunt for them. A match made-- somewhere. Micah Reed has pushed down her completely obnoxious and very painful ability to hear ghosts since she was a child. It always got her in trouble, especially when she talked to people no one else could see. Cue years later when her sister won tickets to a ghost hunting event at the local abandoned courthouse where Micah meets internet ghost hunting sensation, Jericho Knight. After that horrible experience, Micah swears she's never ghost hunting again until Jericho has other ideas. Seems Jericho and his onscreen partner/best friend, Titus, lost their third and "the love of Titus'" life, Haven, to a strange coma a few months back while ghost hunting. Jericho thinks Micah has the abilities they need to find Haven’s spirit and bring her back. Titus doesn’t want anyone else hurt on his watch. Four lives in the balance. Three people with different motives. Two men desperate for answers. One secret that will destroy everything. For Micah Reed, she never should have said yes.

The characters were amazing. I loved reading and getting to know these characters. Micah is such a strong character and she shows her strength throughout this book.
The storyline....what can I say without giving something away‽ Martin has done it again and gave us an adventure that kept me wanting to know what would happen next. And that ending, well you'll just have to wait and read it for yourself. This was quite the adventure and I highly recommend this read.
Kelly Martin is the Queen of Horror. Her latest installment brings together a few of my favorite things: ghosts, spirit boxes, and hawt ghost hunters. Reading in the acknowledgments that this story idea is based off of Kelly's actual experiences is the cherry on top.
I cannot say much about the story except that while I saw the ending coming, I was not prepared for a cliffhanger of epic proportions. Kelly, I need more now. There is a lot to unpack with Titus, Jericho, and Micah. They definitely require another book.
I have been hoping for a book/series similar to Dark and Deadly Things and this totally hits the mark. Micah is a great character, very relatable with her inner voice and actions. Olivia embodies an older sibling and their protective nature perfectly. As for the guys, there’s a lot more that needs to come out because I have so many questions! Kelly- the answer is 100% YES to continue this story!
