Grab the fourth book and enjoy the story of Ken & Jan’s journey on the ranch.
This was Book 4 in the series. This series makes more sense if it's read in order, in my humble opinion. Book 4 brings Getaway Ranch visitors from the previous books back for a Ranch Rodeo competition. This series is a heartwarming story about the Getaway Ranch which was created as a place for hope and healing for people who have lost their way in life. Jan is a nurse who comes to the ranch to heal from a broken heart and while she's there she also works with Greg after his recent shoulder surgery. While at the ranch she meets Ken, a formerly local man who now hopes to open his own veterinarian clinic. The two work well together even though Jan's experience has all been treating humans in a hospital ER setting. Like all books in this series, it ends on a positive, feel good note which is much appreciated in today's chaos.
Jan and Ken are both at the Garner Ranch for different reasons. He's an old friend and neighbor turned veterinarian back in town to reopen the old vet clinic. She is a guest of the ranch seeking to heal from a bad breakup.
There's lots of excitement in the story aside from the slow-building romance. Plus, we get to see some old friends from previous books in the series.
This is definitely a Christian book. They not only mention church and Bible study, but they pray often and discuss real questions and answer with Scripture. The characters and the circumstances they found themselves in were realistic. I enjoy reading this book, so full of love, joy, forgiveness, and hope.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
Ken has returned to the Garner ranch as the new vet. Jan is an ER nurse who has come to the ranch to recover after a relationship breakup. Neither is in the market for a relationship. Ken wants to focus on getting his new practice successful, and Jan is fearful of trusting another relationship.
This is an enjoyable, well-written romance with good biblical and Christian concepts. Lots of prayer, looking to Him for guidance. Forgiveness is also a topic of discussion. The characters are wonderful and well-developed.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is entirely voluntary and unbiased.
This series has been such a joy to read. I laughed & cried through it. How this ranch transformed into a place of healing is very interesting. It brings in guests who have all sought something different in their lives. Watching the vet return home after too many years away to jump right back in to treat the horses & reopen the clinic was just right. And the story of the ER nurse who came to visit after a terrible break up was full of hurt, sadness, untrust to learn of forgiveness. And if the love stories don’t get you the way family comes together will.
I love this series. The Garners and family own and operate this ranch, each have different talents and a great love for family. They expand the ranches operations to include guest that they try to help and encourage. This book is about a vet and a nurse. They are great characters you will want to know. The author is great with incorporating others from previous stories in the series to make a very interesting read.
The fourth book in “The Getaway Ranch” series, this book reunites us with old friends and the new vet, who is a friend of the family and Jan, an ER nurse, full of compassion but hurt by a broken relationship. Life on the ranch is never dull and as Jan journeys to wholeness she finds not only a relationship with Jesus but with Ken, the vet. A refreshing Christian book.
Book 4 in the series, Ken and Jan are friendly characters. They both need help and they find it in God and with the owners of the Double G Ranch. The story is full of wisdom although not "preachy". Add a riding competition and a bunch of matchmakers to the mix and here you go! I recommend this series and this author in general.
I was given a free copy and this is my personal and honest opinion.
Book four of the Getaway Ranch series continues to reflect not just the author’s writing prowess, but also her personal relationship with the only One who redeems and heals even the most broken and the most damaged. Very enjoyable, entertaining and uplifting, a book and series I highly recommend!
