ETHAN
Getting snowed in a day before important business negotiations is my idea of a living nightmare. And to make matters worse? Since I am stuck, my PA decides to clear my schedule for an entire week so I can ‘take some time off and relax’.
It’s pure hell. I don’t know what to do with so much free time.
Until the luxury hotel’s chef-in-training decides to save me from my suffering. He’s tall, hot and surprises me at every turn. I’m not good with his type. But it’s hard to stay away from him when being bored is the alternative. Besides, a quick fling never hurt anyone, right?

JAKE
Ethan is my dream man. He’s sexy, grumpy and a total workaholic. He’s also some important CEO who’s way out of my league.
But when has that ever stopped me?
He’s stuck here and doesn’t know how to have fun. That’s perfect—I’m the best distraction around here. Plus, I’ve got a few recipes that need test-runs. And if things get a little heated, well, you can’t blame me for it. It’s totally mutual.
Only, I never expected it might be hard to let Ethan go once I’ve gotten a taste of him.

This is a low angst Christmas romance novella that features snowed in, grumpy/sunshine, spice, sweetness, a grumpy workaholic who discovers there is more to life than work, and a sunshine chef-to-be with big dreams and irresistible smiles. It is Book 2 in the Love Takes No Holidays series and follows Ethan, Charlie’s brother. It can be read as a standalone.

3.5🌟

This is a snowed in grumpy/sunshine holiday novella.

Ethan is a workaholic who gets stuck in hotel while away for a business meeting, he’s left wondering what to do with all the free time he has but as soon as he sets his sight on the hot chef who’s about to serve him breakfast perhaps the next few days won’t be so boring.

This was a cute Christmas holiday short story. Jake and Ethan were so easily loveable and obviously both cute. The connection between them was instant and of course there was a little bit of pinning and lingering stares.

This is a nice addition to my holiday romance read. No angst, good spice, straight to the point.

A short, snowed-in Christmas novella with a warm, a bit spicy, cozy atmosphere.

The story leans into classic holiday romance: instant attraction, soft emotions, and minimal drama.
It is predictable but comforting, perfect if you want something light, festive, and easy to read without emotional intensity.
A pleasant seasonal escape rather than a deep or complex romance 🥂

This was such a cute, short, holiday novella. This is the second book in the series and can absolutely be read on its own. But I did like that I was familiar with at least a couple characters from the first book, Spooky Level Up. This is such an enjoyable series with each book taking place during a different holiday. The first was around Halloween and this one took place during Christmas time. This was a sweet story where one character ends up getting stuck due to a snowstorm, causing the roads to be impassable. It’s a forced proximity MM romance taking place a luxury hotel, so there are plenty of holiday activities around. I really enjoy this series because they are short, easy reads with cute queer characters. This was a great read to get you into the holiday spirit with some MM romance.

We met Ethan in Spooky Level Up because he is Charlie’s brother and Ben’s best friend. Here we get to see him as the stuffy CEO who travelled north for a meeting that never happens and ends up getting stuck. I love the cold weather and the snow, but Ethan is a Miami boy, where snow is just unheard of. I did feel bad because he only had his suit to wear and ended up getting stuck for days. One of the best parts of this story is being able to watch Ethan finally relax and let go with the help of Jake.

Jake is a chef in training at the hotel. He is cute a super flirty. I loved how he planned cute dates for the two and found things to do even though the weren’t really able to leave the hotel grounds. I loved his drive and how he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life. Jake was adorable and it was so cute that he just wanted to treat Ethan like a king and take care of him.

This was such a cute story. It took place around Christmas time, but I never thought that there was an overwhelming Christmas presence. There are a few spicy scenes between these guys and even though there wasn’t a lot, the ones that were there were fantastic. I thought this was a great story and I can’t wait to see what holiday we get next.

And the Christmas ARCs have started!!! Here's Aria Clark and J.F. Miev's "Spice Me Up." It's the second novel in their Love Takes No Holidays series.

This novella was adorable. It was filled with romantic moments and fairytale dates and wonderful spice. And the best part, Jake and Ethan kept mentioning how Hallmarky and cheesy and perfect their romance seemed (very meta).

I love how their personas were so on point, but also just so surprising. Ethan is a bit grumpy to the outside world, but with Jake, he's a soft, sweet nerd. Jake...okay, so Jake is a cinnamon roll of a baby bear to the outside world and for Jake, but it just hits differently when you're with your man.

I felt like I was reading two different books at times:

1. A sugary sweet holiday rom-com with a golden-retriever chef bounding into the life of an uptight and slightly self-conscious billionaire, loosening him up with face licks and tail wags, AND

2. An after-dark, adults-only steamy fantasy about a sex-starved businessman who gets stranded in an abandoned hotel, the only other occupant is a ridiculously hot chef, who's serving up a 69 special.

It felt a bit disjointed, is all I'm saying. I like the premise to both of those stories, I just don't know if they're the same one. For that reason, it was hard for me to get invested overall, and my experience of reading was more like a catalogue of things I liked and didn't like as much so here you go:

Likes
Jake. I think he was the most consistently written. Even though he gave golden retriever vibes, there was always a hint of something a little more devious under the surface, so I wasn't AS thrown off when he was like "I'm gonna bend you over and watch your pretty little hole stretch around my massive cock."

The Vibes. It was low angst. Feel good. Puts you in the holiday spirit. I can dig it.

The Steam. When I finally DID wrap my mind around the fact that I'd entered into an alternate universe and was now reading a new book, I was totally into it. Both the MCs are freaks of the best kind, and I love some dirty talk.

Not So Much Likes
Ethan. He fell kind of flat. I think there were like 5 chapters devoted to him bemoaning the fact that he didn't have any work to do while he was snowed in at this luxury resort and didn't know what to do with himself. Honestly, I got the point after the first chapter. I didn't need him to keep revisiting it. Like, what else was going on for him? Oh, yeah, his brother. In the book's defense, this is part of an interconnected series, and I didn't read the first that's obviously about the brother, and maybe if I had, I would't be so annoyed by it, but he talks about his brother A LOT.

The Barebacking. Ok, point of clarification: I have zero problem with the actual bareback sex. It's how it all unraveled. I won't go into excruciating detail here; I'll just say, it could have been done better and with a little more sensitivity and care. Also, what's the hurry? Why are author's so obsessed with MCs having bareback sex? Lots of real life couples use condoms exclusively to avoid UTIs and such. This message that somehow bareback sex is THE BEST or most desired form of connection is...I don't know...I think setting up an unhealthy ideal.

Overall opinion? If you're looking for a holiday-themed read that's quick and easy, low angst, good spice, this might be a good one for you.

I appreciate the author sending me an ARC to read and review. This is my honest reaction.

I really enjoyed this book with high-powered businessman Ethan, trapped at a hotel during a snowstorm, and hotel chef Jake, attracted to this guy and making a play for him while he’s there. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and the flirting and innuendos are constant. Jake is so creative in the things he comes up with for them to do when he is off work, the effort he puts into setting them up speaks volumes as to how “in” to Ethan he is feeling, and Ethan can’t help noticing if he is “listening” at all. The sexy times are really hot and spicy, and you can just sense the growing feelings between them the more time they spend together. Jake is very romantic, something new for Ethan, and that helps draw him closer to Jake and fantasize about him when they aren’t together. He is also a very caring person, picking up on needs for Ethan (a coat and scarf for the weather, for example) and makes sure he meets those needs where he can. Since Ethan had only expected to be at the hotel for the day and had no luggage with him, I did wonder how he managed with just his one suit for the basic 4 or 5 days he was snowed in, and did he have boots with him, but he obviously made it work.

These two characters spoke to me, making me feel like I was a close observer to their developing relationship, invested in them making it work once Ethan had to leave, and that was satisfied for me. The world building of the hotel and the outside area around it was vivid in my mind as the story played out, almost like a movie in my mind. A very entertaining tale that held me interested the entire time, one I would recommend if you like low-angst and just a really sweet romance.

I received an advance copy of the book and this is my voluntary review.

What do you do when all you know is work work work... but you're stuck stuck stuck?
Most likely pull your hair out because your PA refuses to give you work and tells you to take a break.

But Little does our workaholic CEO know.... love is just around the bar.

When we first met Ethan in the previous book, we saw the workaholic and astute CEO. While he has the ability to let loose and have fun, Ethan def doesn't give himself time to unwind.

Until he gets snowed in and his client meeting is cancelled.

At the time, he didn't know his dream man was serving him a pastry that would spark their romance.

You get everything you are looking for in a quick holiday romance. You get the flirtation, food porn (imo), instant attraction, grumpyXsunshine trope, spicy time + toys and a pair of men who just fit each other in just the right way.

If there is one thing Ethan is amazing at.... it's knowing potential. And Jake is not only that, but the reason for him to finally relax.

These two are a great couple, if their dates are spicy times are anything to go by.

I loved getting to see Ethan's personality broken down just a bit more and I love their roles honestly.

If you want a cute and spicy holiday read, I'd recommend this any time. Of course I'd say read book 1 too, because I love Ethan's bro Charlie (He's such a cutie). But you can totally read this on it's own no problem.

Sometimes when you know... you just know.

This was a cute holiday read where the workaholic learns to live a little, relax, and have fun for a change. In this book we get Ethan, the older brother of Charlie from Spooky Level Up. This story is after Charlie's but could still easily be read as a standalone without issue.

Ethan is the billionaire CEO who gets stranded at hotel due to the weather. Since he's stuck there anyways, his assistant cancels all his meetings and forces him to take a vacation. He is not used to being idle, so having no work starts to get to him quickly. His stay perks up when he sees the interesting man working behind the counter. Ethan is intrigued and wants to get to know the man better, apparently so does Jake. These two end up spending time together and having those sugary sweet holiday moments together. They will have to decide what they are to each other before Ethan is scheduled to go back home to Miami after the weather clears.

A cute Christmas story about a business man who is stranded at a hotel by a storm and ends up hooking up with the golden retriever chef who pulls him out of his "I'm not allowed to work" funk.

A few things annoyed me. He goes to a resort which is about 3 hours from the nearest airport for a meeting? What kind of business does that? And you travel to Canada in winter (okay you live in Florida maybe you aren't that bright) with ZERO luggage, no boots, coat, nothing. WTF, dude. Check the weather app. And it's never really clear where he gets clothes as he has one suit and one pair of underwear. Also, your assistant says "you can't work" so you don't? Surely there is something you can work on, a report to type, a proposal to create, some businessy stuff you can do. She doens't control what you do off-line (or on-line for that matter). He was kind of whiny.

I thought it wrapped up a bit quickly. They've only known each other less than a week and So I think it could have been drawn out a bit, but on the whole it was fine.

I really enjoyed this author's Halloween novella Spooky Level Up, so I was excited to read this one which features Charlie's older brother Ethan.

Ethan, who lives in Miami, is visiting up north for what's supposed to be a day trip business meeting. However, after he arrives at the hotel, it turns out that he (and everyone else) is snowed in. This gives him an opportunity to meet Jake, a chef-in-training there, and then later, to get to know him better. Despite Ethan's status as a very wealthy man, they go on some very lovely, low-key dates. I loved their dates and just how they are together. I love how wealth wasn't such a factor, whether in their dates or their relationship. Jake is willing to work for his dreams, whether his career or his love. yes, there's an element of insta-love here, but it works and I am here for it. They just made me melt. This is so cute and spicy and adorable. THey fit really well together! I also enjoyed the cameo with Charlie and his partner :)

I always recommend this author's work and this no exception. Such a cute holiday read!

This was cute, sweet, fun and I really enjoyed it.

Ethan is a billionaire CEO stranded at a hotel in the mountains because of the weather and Jake is the chef-in-training there. I loved the snowy activities and the cooking/baking Jake did. It was insta-lust(love), but it has to be like that for a novella and I enjoyed it and felt it , too even if it was pretty quick. I loved all the dates Jake organised, they were very romantic and thought out and exactly what Ethan enjoyed. I loved the fact that both of them were on the same page when it was time for Ethan to leave, but I loved that Ethan went the extra mile and had a well thought out plan for the future. I was glad that things worked out for them and I really enjoyed the epilogue, where we also got to see Charlie and Ben from book 1.

This book was like a warm cup of cocoa or a flakey, tasty pastry that Jake would make, in short it was goodness in a bite sized version.

Definitely pick it up if you want a sweet and steamy holiday read.

If you read Spooky Level Up and enjoyed Charlie, you'll love getting to know more about his brother Ethan in this book! This is a standalone, though, you don't have to have read SPU first to fully enjoy SMU.

I found Ethan interesting from the beginning. He is a devoted CEO and a workaholic. When he gets snowed in with no way to keep working, he's forced to slow down for once. He's a bit lost until Jake, the hotel's chef-in-training, helps him learn how to relax and have fun. As Jake shows Ethan that there is more to life than work, both men begin to fall for each other. But when the snow melts, the real world comes calling, along with all those things that kept Ethan so busy...

I really enjoyed this story. It wasn't heavy on Christmas-y cheer, which made it refreshing for a holiday novella in my opinion. I love the snowed in trope as well and I thought Jake's character in particular was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed watching Ethan loosen up and rediscover himself and what makes him happy. I was cheering for these two to end up together and enjoyed their journey to their HEA.

Heating up in the Kitchen

Spice Me Up A Snowed-in Grumpy/Sunshine MM Holiday Romance (Love Takes No Holidays 2) J.F. Miev, Aria Clark

It's the second Holiday book, this time set at Christmas and CEO Ethan has arrived at a Canadian resort for a business meeting when he finds out the other person isn't coming and they're snowed in.

He's only packed for a day, wearing his suit and luckily he's booked into a suite.

He's a major workaholic and his PA has cleared his calender, forcing him to take a holiday.

Thankfully he had the distraction of chef in training Jake, who is fit, cute and funny.

Plus very flirty.

What starts as a way of occupying the time turns into fun snow days, steamy nights, great food and a brilliant rapport between the two men.

And best of all, Jake dreams of moving south to set up a new restaurant so there's a possibility of something lingering between them.

This is great fun, romantic and nice and spicy as the title suggests.

A bit of heat to warm up the cold nights.

Spice Me Up is a sweet, low-angst, and (yes) spicy romance perfect for the holiday season.

Ethan is a successful CEO workaholic trapped at a hotel resort following a surprise snowstorm. Jake is the hotel's chef-in-training who helps Ethan remember how to relax and enjoy things as they come. Will it be just a quick fling, or have the two men found their perfect match?

I absolutely loved both of the MCs! Their witty, flirty banter was fun and so sweet. Their chemistry is immediate and electric, and the grumpy/sunshine trope was used to perfection. My only complaint is that I want more of these characters. I missed Spooky Level Up, the first in this series, upon its release, but I'm definitely excited to go back and read it.

If you're looking for a fast, fun holiday read, I highly recommend giving this one a chance! 4.5 stars, rounded to 5 stars.

This is an opposites attract to more romance, featuring Ethan and Jake, and is book two in the Love Takes No Holidays series.

This is a fast paced, low angst holiday romance, that is all kinds of sweet and spicy. Ethan is a grumpy billionaire CEO, snowed in and forced to take some time off and Jake is the sunshine chef at the resort. It was instant attraction for both of them and it doesn’t take long for both of them to fall hard.

This novella is super cute, it’s filled with romantic dates and these two just click. HEA was exactly want I was hoping for and else even got a cameo of Charlie and Ben from book one, yay! Now I want to reread their book.

Things to expect in this book are:
2nd book in series
Novella
MM holiday romance
Billionaire x chef
Grumpy / Sunshine
Opposites attract
Snowed in
Sweet & Spicy
Dates
S* x toys
Both fall fast
All in

I love a holiday themed story and the second book in this series did not disappoint, I especially enjoyed the snippet at the end with the characters from the first book, it's always nice to get a glimpse at their future.

Getting stuck in an exclusive mountain retreat unexpectedly because of a storm can have it's advantages, when a sexy trainee chef takes an interest and you realise it's time to focus on something other than work.

Jake and Ethan may have different life experiences so far but that doesn't stop them being open to adventures with each other and unexpectedly enjoying even the small moments.

Some great romantic scenes, spicy and steamy moments that make you fall in love with these characters through a really adventurous story.

This installment in Love Takes No Holidays follows Charlie's workaholic brother Ethan who gets snowed in at a hotel and forced to take a vacation. There he meets Jake who wouldn't mind filling up Ethan's days.

Normally, I'm not one for insta-love but this was done so well! Despite the mutual attraction, they both face uncertainty and worry about the other's feelings. It made it feel refreshing because despite their compentencies elewhere, they're still just two people in love.

Also, I love how it wasn't super Christmas-y, but more holiday-adjacent. It helped to separate from the usual genre and cliches. Ethan and Jake are just so cute on their own!

Thank you to the author and publisher for this ARC.

I just eat up whatever JF Miev writes. They are alway sweet, spicy, low conflict and HEA. This was the perfect short story for Christmas. Ethan and Jake were great. They had great chemistry, good flirting and cozy winter cuddle time. This was like a cup of hot chocolate in front of warm fire watching a cute hallmark movie with some heat. We got to hear and read about Charlie and Ben and I loved that they made an appearance in this story as well. If you’re looking for a sweet, short and spicy Christmas read this is it!

What do you do when you are a workaholic and trapped in a hotel by a snowstorm? Well, you naturally start a fling with a gorgeous chef! This book is fun opposites attract storyline with an outgoing, fun and handsome chef and the workaholic grump. Find out how a snowstorm works its magic around these two to bring them closer together over the course of a week and builds the type of connection and bond that can last a lifetime if they are both willing to take the chance. I enjoyed the writing style and humor of this book. So, grab your copy and enjoy on a winter's afternoon.

This is a fluffy lite story with just the right amount of spice. Ethan, Charlie from book one's brother, is a workaholic. His scheduled business meeting gets cancelled due to a snow storm and he's snowed in with nothing to do. Jake is a chef-in-training. He's the sunshine to Ethan's grump. And he takes it upon himself to make sure Ethan has a good snowcation.

Sizzling steam, food porn, ice skating and snowman building. And the power goes out. This is a quick, lite novella filled with winter fun. And two very hot men.

Totally enjoyable with a hot cuppa tea and a fuzzy blanket.

If you have read Spooky level up then you will recognise Ethan, the workaholic older brother of Charlie. Doesn't do anything for fun but then he has not met the right man.
Whilst this is a novella, there was a lot packed into this story. The moment Ethan meets Jake, you can feel Ethan's tension melt away and you can see the man he was before he became a high powered business man. Learning to laugh and love. Although Ethan's business mind came to force when he spotted potential.
This was a quick enjoyable read, that kept my interest from the first page and whilst it was set round the holiday season, it could be read anytime

This is a great read from J. F. Miev. I laughed throughout the book. They are bored, excited, h@rny for each other, walls come down, they have fun, etc..

Snowed in
Grumpy/Sunshine
Sweet and Spicy
Opposites Attract
Low Angst

Ethan is a CEO that was stranded at the hotel, when he was only there for a business meeting. Jake is the chef-n-training at the hotel. They have instant chemistry.

Will they give into the chemistry? Will they make this more than a fling? Will Ethan extend his stay past the storm? Will Jake bring his restaurant idea to Miami? Let's finish reading to find out!

Quick and cute, with excellent holiday vibes! I liked the snowed in at a charming picturesque setting set up and the hotel is a wonderful backdrop for Ethan and Jake’s romantic and spicy wintery dates. I liked both main characters quite a lot, so it was very easy to root for them to get their HEA. It moves pretty fast, which is fine by me as I am not a huge fan of slow burn. The dialogue wasn’t my favorite, it just reads a bit stilted to me. Cute couple though, and plenty of holiday steam.

This holiday read is an absolute delight—adorable and bursting with fun! It’s the perfect follow-up to Book 1 (which, let’s be real, you absolutely need to check out if you haven’t). The chemistry between the characters had me grinning, especially with all the playful and romantic antics Jake pulled off to make Ethan’s “forced vacation” a blast.

It’s a super sweet and spicy holiday treat that I wholeheartedly recommend!

Ethan is Charlie's CEO brother from "Spooky Level Up". He is stuck in a northern resort when it snows for a few days with nothing to do and meets Jake, a chef in training who wants to own his own restaurant. It's a whirlwind romance with a grumpy/ sunshine trope and of course, per the title, spice. In this sweet novella, Ethan and Jake find each other and love. Loved the first book which was set during Halloween and now we get Christmas setting 😁 Though this one features Ethan, Charlie from the first books brother it can be read as a standalone. A Christmas stranded at the inn (hotel!) storyline with great grumpy/sunshine characters. I loved Ethan's grumpy personality! When he meets Jake who is Mr Sunshine, they have an instant connection. A true whirlwind romance with a great ending.

Ethan is forced to take some time off work when he is snowed in when he meets a nice distraction in Jake.
