Kyle gave me two “Prison or serve me.” I chose the latter. Serving an enemy was pure torture—especially when he’s hot, brutal, and my fated mate. We both tried to resist it, until one reckless night shattered every wall. But the next morning, his rejection was swift, and I ran.
"I don’t need you any longer." His words still echo.
Fine. So why is my once-ruthless master now at my doorstep, kneeling for forgiveness? No time for regret. Our baby needs daddy's blood.
I am getting annoyed with the same plot line realization in every single rejected shifter book. Alpha and mate have a delightful and begrudging back and forth for 15-20% of book. They finally succumb to the heat between them then “OH NO!” The antagonist drop a “twist” and the Alpha allows EVERYTHING they know about their mate to mean nothing, they perform “logical gymnastics” of Olympic portions and they believe everything to the contrary of what they know and they reject the mate. Then all of a sudden the everything they performed the gymnastics to believe come crashing down and they suddenly are so grief and guilt stricken over what they did. 🤔. Hmmm….maybe and I am just going out on a limb here I would LOVE for an author to write an Alpha who actually an Alpha and uses his head and authority to LEAD!!!!! Ugggggg!!!!!!! This book was so frustrating because I actually like Kyle. I thought he had way more potential to be great than the author allowed him to be. I am on the fence with what’s her name, the FMC. See? I blank on her name. That is how ambivalent I am about her. She torments Kyle after he gives up everything for her knowing he was manipulated in the most horrible ways and she has no compassion and no heart. The author tries to give reasons, but they fall so flat it is almost worse. The world built is weirdly dystopian yet current. I am not sure what the author was going for. It was weirdly Handmaids Tale, with a good dose of slavery tossed in, but the Alpha who the FMC runs to is openly gay…so yeah. 🤷♀️. Finally after over 50% of the FMC tormenting and being deliberately cruel to the MMC for something he had no real recourse to correct she all of a sudden does a 180 and is completely and irrevocably his again. To make things worse, the end fight scene made no sense. Reginald put up way too much of a fight when he was way older and he was fighting younger faster and according to the author better fighters. Kyle and Roman were supposed to be the best there were and yet one elderly shifter cause catastrophic damage to who was arguably the best fighter there was according to the author. Not sure where to go with that. In all, I won’t move on in the series at the moment. I might come back after a little while when I have forgotten how much I was disappointed in the book.
I don’t usually rate books this low. It was just very, very bland. I just could not stay with it. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the story. Just bland. 🔥/5
Malefica81 - per RFS . Bentornate Fenici!
The Blood Moons and the Moonlight packs had lived in peach if not harmony until the Luna of the Moonlights was murdered during a meeting. The talk was to bring an alliance between the two pack but erupted into a war. Blood Moons lost. There Alpha and Beta dead, while a few escaped to fight again. For the next three years Blood Moons were enslaved. Their living conditions so poor many were so weak they were barely holding on.
Leah had disobeyed the laws to search out the herbs needed to heal a friend who had been injured. Caught, brought before the council for punishment she expected her life might be forfeit as an example and her friend would die. But Kyle, the son of the current Moonlight Alpha had returned from college and stepped into the council room to render the punishment. She would become his personal, working in his house where he could keep an eye on her.
However, at that moment Leah recognized that she and Kyle were mates. And that Kyle wasn’t his father he’d listened to her tale of the Blood Moon’s hardships and was is someway ready to make life better for them. At least until his father returned and Kyle learned what had really happened on the day his mother died.
The story is engaging, well written, with fully developed main characters and insights to secondary characters that enrich the telling. There is death, pain, heartache, and love. This paranormal tale with a few new sins on shifter lore is a welcome addition to the genre. There is spice in the romance, ups and downs, a vicious fight and even several villains, but all in all a good read with an HEA. Enjoy.
In the world of wolf shifters there are many clans. This story involved the Blood Moons and Moonlights. It begins with the defeat of the Blood Moons after the murder of their Luna, which caused a vicious war. With their defeat, the Blood Moons became the slaves of the Moonlights and their cruel alpha and elder council members. They were treated little better than animals (pun intended). Three years pass and the Moonlight heir returns from university, none too pleased with his father's treatment of the Blood Moons.
Kyle arrives just as Leah, the Blood Moon's herbalist, is accused of stealing from the Moonlights' infirmary, when in fact she stole out of the compound to gather some healing herbs for her friend, who had been taken seriously ill. Although the outcome was known before the "trial" ever began, rather than imprisoning Leah, or worse, he suggested that she become his housekeeper so he could keep an eye on her actions and behavior. Too, his attraction to her, although forbidden, was undeniable.
After another concocted "crime" for which Leah was blamed, she was imprisoned but she broke out and ran north until she found the few Blood Moons that had escaped the earlier conflict.
This is a well-constructed story that both frustrates and warms your heart. Leah suffers through many trials of her spirit but prevails with uncommon strength, and Kyle, though periodically a grumpy butt, ultimately proves himself to be the unrivaled hero and clan leader then all need and respect.
The start of the Moonlit Forbidden Love series two packs one treated unfairly by the other but taking a chance for a friend changes their paths. Leah part of the Blood Moon Pack a pack that has suffered at the hands of the Moonlight pack so when her friend gets sick she sneaks out at night to try find some herbs to help her, she goes out at night in hopes of not getting caught and yep you guessed it she gets caught goes before a very cruel council who of course wants to issue he harshest punishment possible until a certain alpha steps for representing his father changing her fate taking her on as his personal maid in his home. Kyle sexy as all get out alpha of Moonlit pack stands in for his father deciding for his father to take on the punishment of a Blood Moon Pack member but something about her draws him to her like fated mate so a harsh punishment he wasn’t going to allow but his personal maid in his home of course, and that lead to one night of passion of course he rejected her he can’t be mated to someone from the Blood Moon Pack forcing her to run pregnant although she didn’t realize it at the time but it gave her a chance at life but does it end there or will their paths cross again, will their child be okay, will he accept her as his mate, will he accept the baby, and where are they headed?
Leah, from the Blood Moon Pack, is out hunting for herbs to help a sick and injured friend. She had to sneak out in the night to do this in order to avoid members of the Moonlight Pack. The Moonlight Pack took the Blood Moon Pack as prisoners years ago and treat them as slaves. Leah and her pack are treated horribly; they are kept in starvation mode, worked to death, provided no health care, and no decent living quarters. So, if Leah wants her friend to survive, she has to sneak out at night. Unfortunately, she is caught....
She is brought before the vicious, cruel Council and the charge of stealing. Before proceedings go very far, Kyle, the son of the Alpha, enters the chambers. His father, the Alpha, is away so Kyle is technically in charge....much to the annoyance, anger and jealousy of Sam, a pack elder. Kyle is drawn to Leah so steps in, and to avoid having Leah face extreme punishment, he takes the lead and says she will serve time as his slave, in his home.
So, it all begins....an uneasy relationship of master and slave that will slowly change over time. Things are in constant upheaval with many twists, turns, surprises, along with drama, suspense, and, of course, an emotional roller coaster.
An action packed shifter romance, with drama, action, betrayal, discovery, magic, love and a HEA.
Leah is from the Blood Moon pack who have been enslaved by the Moonlight pack following the murder of the Moonlight Luna. When her friend is needing medicine she goes out looking for the herbs but is caught and brought before the council. Here she meets the Moonlight Alpha Heir who has recently returned from university, and senses that he's her fated mate.
Kyle can't believe that his fated mate is from the pack he despises for killing his mother, yet he can't stay away from her and makes her his personal maid as punishment for her theft. But the more time they spend together the more his wolf wants to be with his mate, while also wanting to make things better for the Blood Moon wolves. When Leah's accused of another crime and imprisoned he reluctantly bows to his father's decree.
A year after she escapes and disappears Kyle is sent to find the Blood Moon refugees his father had failed to track down. But when he finds them he discovers a lot more than just his mate.

~ rejected secret baby ~ low steam, vanilla, no knotting
✅ no ow, no sharing, no cheating
For my personal attention span this was long winded and slow, way too much inner monologue. I appreciated the gut punch betrayal even though it’s expected. I really appreciated that Leah did NOT jump back into his arms although still I wish authors would realize it should take many months if not years to just trust someone again after they reject and betray you so viciously.
So yes within a matter of less than 2 months they are together again. Kyle definitely was remorseful but there wasn’t enough conversation about Leah’s time in prison, she was never angry with him really, he never asked about her experiences. If he hadn’t of stumbled upon information he never would have believed his mate didn’t seduce him purposely. I needed more relationship building that didn’t rely on the pull of the bond. While this grovel was a lot more than in other books I’m just a grovel wench and always want more.
The end fight scene was way too long and the fact two young expert fighter couldn’t take down one older shifter was overlooked plot hole.
The plot concept was pretty good, I just wish there was more "meat" around the characters and better plot development. I admit I'm conflicted with some aspects of this book. While I love me some paranormal romance stories, sometimes authors take the easy way out and rely on magic to resolve some issues that a more experienced author would not. I think that's one of the issues I have here. . . along with the fact that the very illness their baby suffers from is due to our main couple coming from 2 different packs. I mean, the way that whole thing was explained just didn't make any sense. So there's NO mates that are from different packs? And the way to heal their baby was to touch her and think good thoughts, have him braid her hair . . . I mean it was just ridiculous.
This is book #1 in the series. I'm going to take a chance on book #2 before making a decision on whether to continue or abandon the series. If you haven't started the series yet and are trying to decide if you should, go look at your TBR pile. I promise you, you have something better in there.
I liked it, but it ended up being long winded at several points.
The time spent at the refuge curing their baby was lengthy. I mean… Kyle’s over there setting up aqueducts and filtration systems and working in the greenhouse. A lot of effort is being invested into a temporary hideout.
The fight scene was also overly long. Why did it take Kyle so long to take down his dad when Kyle practices fighting every day and has won over every wolf with his amazing battle skills? Then it takes three people to take down his dad and Kyle almost dies. It didn’t make much sense.
Also the ending was long winded. After the resolution we have a party, some sex, a wedding, granny bonds with the baby, Roman and Mark get together… It’s a happy ending for one and all that quickly turns dull.
This book was just not great. There was potential, but it didn't even come close. The author seemed to have issues, and the characters were pretty flat. Now that I have finished this, the 3rd book in there series, despite the title saying 2nd, I doubt I will continue to the others.
Let's start with the technical issues. I did come across an instance where quotation marks were on the line above rather than on the correct line at the beginning of a sentence. I didn't see any others screaming out at me, though.
The writing, though, was just... OK. The characters felt so flat. I honestly didn't feel anything from either one of them. The author, I guess, just doesn't seem to convey emotions well, at least in my opinion. Then, there are the characters, themselves. Kyle comes across as angry and pushes her away over and over, treats her like trash. Then suddenly he finds out his dad is behind everything and he suddenly wants her back? Not sure of the correlation, but it was just a sudden change for me, since I didn't get any inkling he had any affection for her at all. Next, there is Leah. She is ready to move on. Her baby is healed, and she is ready to remove the mate bond. Then, here comes Kyle, who apologizes and says he loves her, then she just jumps back into bed with him again and all is forgiven. The whiplash is real.
I was going to keep going in the series, but I just can't keep it up. I don't want to keep reading these flat nonsense books. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Leah is part of the Blood Moon pack, one in servitude to the Moonlight pack. They have suffered a lot at the hands of the Moonlight pack. Kyle is the son of the Alpha of the Moonlight pack and has recently returned from studying abroad. When Leah is accused of stealing and selling pack resources, Kyle chooses a different punishment for her. This is my first time reading this author. The book is written well and the characters are written well and have growth. Story was engaging from the beginning! Grab it, you won’t regret it!
This was a decent read, however I felt that title is a bit deceiving. The MMC in this book was a bit all over the place with his feelings towards the mate bond even though he wanted to incorporate change within his pack and the FMC was also bit back and forth. It wasn't a formal rejection just a lack of willingness on the MMC's part but the world building was really great and I did enjoy the blend of heritage within the book as well. Overall this was a good read, it is pretty low spice compared to what I normally read but it does keep you entertained.
Great characters and storyline. You are hooked on the story of Leah and Kyle from the first page. Both are from different packs. Leah is from the Blood Moon pack and Kyle from the Moonlight pack. When she is falsely accused of stealing food and selling it, Kyle wants to punish her in a way that suits him. Great story and is definitely recommended.

I'm new to this author, but I think i will be back for more. The storyline was well thought out and had me reading when I should have been sleeping. The plot was always evolving and drew me in until I became invested in each action. The characters were dynamic, but I think for a change, the female lead was a little stronger and more carasmatic. Really enjoyed this and am looking forward to more.
Kyle and Leah's union starts out with complications that only increase. Some surprising news gives her no choice but to leave. This was a fascinating story that a potential to be more detailed. I found it to be entertaining and well written.

It was an ok read. The plot was straightforward. In my opinion, the plot and the story is not well developed. Also, the main characters I was not particularly fond. Both characters miss something. I did not feel that Kyle was a strong alpha. The story is fast-paced. There is no unfolding of events for the reader.
Great story of two packs destined to be allies but destroyed by power and greed, brought together by a member from each pack destined by the moon goddess to unite. Love, action, betrayal and pain all entwined with a secret baby bring this book to the front to keep you from putting it down. Great read can’t wait for the next book.
Very heartwarming story. They both go through more than their share of trials both individually and together. The ending was beautiful. I loved it so much, it was hard to put down.

Some stores seem to lose focus as events evolve, however this book was able to reflect the storyline with clarity that highlighted not only the principles but the whole packs. Well written!
Loved the storyline and how we were able to see love over come all!! Just enough spice to keep you wanting more. I would have liked for it give us more at the end, it just felt rushed. Overall great read!!!
Lycan Prince’s Secret Baby was an exciting forbidden love story. This werewolf could not reject his fated mate. There were obstacles along the way but in the end there was a happily ever after.
As if they can out run fate. All I know is everyone got what they deserved. I loved that Leah's baby revealed to her father who she really is. It was so fascinating how aware their baby was.
Leah and Kyle are caught between their respective packs differences. When deceit and murder are revealed from an unlikely source, they each react similarly, but in their own way. Once reunited, they become a force to be reckoned with.
Good read if your are wanting to complete the series
But it had moments where it didn’t captivate me and I would lose interest in reading it. I could go days without reading it and not because I had something I needed to do.
As I sat here in a hospital chair next to my husband's bed watching over him, this book kept me riveted and my mind busy so that the heartache I felt being in this room disappeared and peace filled me. Thank you Jennifer for helping me keep my sanity.
The writing wasn’t bad. It flowed and the grammar was okay but I felt the story title was very misleading. First of all he wasn’t a Prince just a regular son of an Alpha and he was just a normal werewolf not really a Lycan. I got to 90% and I just couldn’t care anymore.
Evil tears the world you live in apart , you become a slave because of it. Then fate steps in as a savior only to become not! You run but with the moon goddess assistance you find your way to what is ment to be.
