Oh golly I’m still pretty much stunned and shell shocked after finishing Harvest Of Sighs. I mean what Sierra has created in this story, the characters, the knowledge, every little detail, the typical British slang (oh bleeding hell) those little touches make it incredible, I’m in awe of her!
When I head back to Thornchapel, I just know it’s going to be magical and the words will flow like a melody. The Prologue alone, wow I found it haunting and beautiful at the same time.
In Harvest or Sighs there are many povs, but we get to go through the minds of Delphine and Rebecca and their D/S relationship. I have to say Rebecca is one of my favourite female characters out of the main six, it was nice to read all about her background, how she became a Domme. She may seem strong on the outside but deep down she’s vulnerable, this love stuff is a funny old business for the straight up, confident hardworking woman we see on the outside. This book also gave me a better understanding and admiration for Delphine. In some of her chapters, gosh I felt for her. Again a lady who’s seems so strong on the outside but inside so so vulnerable. Beckett too, the lovable Priest, his particular chapters stood out to me and of course my beloved St and Arden, the forbidden love between them was heartbreaking.
“One last kiss,” he says, lifting his eyes to mine. There’s no power in them now, no arrogance. Only pure, young longing. “Please, St. Sebastian. I want . . . I want to kiss you one last time.” 😭😭
So things are starting to fall apart at Thornchapel and I really don’t know how it’s all going to finish. We learn more details about the past and what happened between the main characters parents, we get beautiful, delicious, passionate scenes between our main six characters and heartbreaking ones too. As I mentioned before, these books play out like a BBC drama, one I so desperately want to watch!
Samhain is next and gosh what’s going to happen? We find out this Halloween 😳
