*ੈ🎄✩‧₊ Reading a Christmas romance during this season? Oh, don't mind me if I do! *ੈ🎄✩‧₊

Mistletoe and Mine is a cute 200+ page romance about two people who annoy each other. Set in a small town where Christmas is a HIT, Sasha manages her late grandparents' Christmas shop... even though she is a Grinch and hates Christmas. When grumpy single dad Sebastian finds out about this lil information, he sort of blackmails her into fake dating him so his grandma stops trying to match him up with every single woman in the town.

This is my first book by this author and I actually really want to try other books by JR Jenner! I loved the dynamic between Sasha and Sebastian and there were MANY cute scenes. We have two very lonely characters, so you know me... I was a goner from page one and I wanted to keep reading. Sasha had no one after her grandma died while Sebastian hasn't been with anyone since forever ago, labeled as a grumpy man who just stays home and cares for his daughter and grandma. So basically they were perfect for each other.

I loved how easy it was after they started fooling around hehe. I loved that she stayed in his place and his daughter and grandma were like so fresh about it lmao. She was literally trying to walk out the door the next day after the one-night stand because she was feeling scared about her feelings and his daughter FOUND HER IN THE ACT LSJJDNKJDSHN it was such a funny scene plus Sebastian running from the bedroom and tripping with every single item just to stop her :') then ofc Sasha was invited to breakfast and she stayed <3

❄︎ If you were looking for a holiday romance with two plus-sized main characters, a single dad, a Grinch-y heroine, hurt/comfort scenes, and a hilarious family, read this one right now ❄︎

This was a cute Christmas story with a little enemies to lovers thrown in. It also had a plus size heroine which is always a win in my book. The book follows Sasha who inherited her grandmas year round Christmas store but has recently had some financial issues and lost her holiday spirit. Sebastian is the grumpy single father in town who convinced to fake date to appease his grandmother. Overall a good story with some spice.

I received this ARC from the author and all opinions are my own.

I devoured that book! I had the exact same feeling as watching a hallmark movie (albeit a bit more giggling): it was sweet, and cozy, and full of warm feelings. It gave me enough Christmas vibes to put me into December mode and want to decorate for the holidays already!
The main couple was EVERYTHING: the rivalry was well-done and they fell in love slowly, over dates and impromptu meetings, and they kept their spark and snark even when they were an actual couple, which is something I miss in most romcoms.
The spice also was on point, and truly that’s all I need in a Christmas rom-com: the vibes, a good couple, and great smut. But even the subplot made me tear up at the end, with how sweet it was. Also, there wasn’t any third-act fight or break-up!
So yeah, this is the perfect Christmas novella to put you in the mood! What are you waiting for?

♥ [Sasha & Sebastian] ♥

In two sentences: When Sasha inherits her grandmother’s Christmas shop, she’s stuck faking holiday cheer—and now, faking a relationship with grumpy, single-dad Sebastian to keep her secret safe. He’s got his own reasons for playing along (thanks, Grandma), but their first fake kiss feels suspiciously real. Cue mistletoe, steamy tension, and a holiday they’ll never forget.

My Review:

🇺🇸 Absolutely adorable and full of festive cheer, this book was like wrapping yourself in a cozy blanket on a snowy day. Warm, soft, and so much fun, it delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Sasha and Sebastian’s chemistry is off the charts, with their banter and connection lighting up every page. And Charlie? Oh, Charlie is the sweetest, bringing such a heartfelt charm to the story. The blend of humor, romance, and holiday magic made this a delightful read that left me smiling from start to finish. Loved every second of it!

My thoughts:

Christmas is my favourite time of year and Mistletoe and Mine definitely got me feeling festive 🎁🎄

Sasha and Sebastian are loveable, likeable characters and I loved their rapport and directness with one another.

I loved the family dynamic and how easy Sasha slotted into it. Sebastians grandmother, Edith, was hilarious.

The book was a story of two halfs, with the first half being a slow burn and the second being a little more spicy.

As it was a short read, for me personally I was getting a little impatient with the slow burn in the first half of the book, as I was willing them to progress their relationship quicker. I enjoyed the second half a lot more.

That being said I think overall, the story worked well and it was a good read, that also touched on the effects of grief.

The book is a great festive read for lovers of short reads, fake dating, small village vibes and slow burn romances ❤️🎄

Here's what to expect:
🎄Plus size characters (lt's cuffing season!)
❤️He's the grump, but she's the Grinch
🎄Hot single dad #girldad
❤️Dislike/Annoyance to lovers
🎄Fake Dating
❤️Characters in their late 30s
🎄Small town romance - British style
❤️Open door spice
🎄Cosy Christmas vibes, festive shenanigans
❤️A life-size Nutcracker called Ernie!

I found this novella by the author on Threads. And I knew I just had to read it!

I am so happy I did! I loved it!
Sebastian is a former rugby player who is a single dad and all around grump.
Sasha is trying to keep her struggling Christmas store a float after inheriting it from her grandparents. Even with Christmas surrounding her, she is a little bit of a grinch.

Sebastian’s mom, Edith, wants nothing more than to see her son settled down.

Sebastian and Sasha decide to fake date to try and convince Edith that he already found someone.

Ahhh, I love JR Jenner's holiday romances. This is a great mix of grumpy starchy/ sunshine chaos, fake dating (which has been played out for me, but I loved this particular one), and small town Christmas shenanigans. It has so many things I love: a single parent romance, a massive hero who used to play rugby, a fat heroine, and meddling old people Definitely one of the highlights of my holiday reading this year.

I enjoyed every single page of this Novella.I fell into the story from the first page and I'm ready to run off to the Cotswolds and live out my cosy days in a small village with my very own Seb!

Mistletoe and mine is about a sassy all year christmas shop owner who isn't feeling the festive spirit and a single dad grumpy ex rugby player whose meddling (but wonderful)
Grandma wants him to settle down and to see him happy.

Sash and Seb didn't get off on the right foot and have stayed clear of each other ever since. But when his grandma starts her crusade of wanting to find him a woman and he discovers Sasha doesn't like Christmas, he asks her to fake date and in turn he'll keep his silence and help her find her Christmas spirit through their dates.

I love JR Jenner’s writing, she writes so well, her books are paced perfectly and just suck you in. From the plot, to the witty lines, the sexy scenes and all the quintessential British moments that I love and often relate to. And if that wasn't enough if there is one thing she definitely knows how to do, it's write great characters.

Which brings me to Sasha and Sebastian. I loved these two grumps and enjoyed watching them thaw each other and fall in love.

Sasha is a strong character which led to her trying to do everything herself and not wanting to accept help which made Sebastian the perfect guy for her. The way Sebastian takes care of her is everything. Through both little and big gestures. All whilst letting her be her own person and taking her thoughts and feelings into consideration. This man is obsessed with her and he shows her just how much in and out of the bedroom.

Also the side characters were great too in charlotte, Sebastian's 13 year old (I loved her relationship with Sasha) and Edith his Grandma who made me giggle. She was brilliant, cunning and charming from the get go!

Love a Christmas romance? I highly recommend adding to your TBR!

Mistletoe and Mine is equal parts sweet and spicy and the perfect holiday treat! J.R. Jenner's writing is engaging, lighthearted and fun. Perfectly tempered to create this small English town holiday, where Christmas is a big draw and celebration for those around. Jenner's novel is perfect for anyone who adores a Hallmark Christmas movie but wants more spice and sensuality. Mistletoe and Mine was the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon, cozied up on the couch with the fireplace going. Jenner's novel features characters in their late thirties giving this romance a lovely level of maturity that I could relate to and really enjoy.

This novel has a bit of early anomosity between the hero and heroine as they both believe the other hates them and not realizing they are both super attached to the other. This novel has wonderful body representation, both hero and heroine are in larger bodies and Jenner handles this with care and understanding in such a beautiful way. This novel also has the humor and charm of a meddlesome grandmother and daughter whose Christmas wish is for the hero and heroine to finally get together. Sasha, our grinch of a heroine, is having a hard time mustering up the holiday spirit as she is overworked and worried about the survival of her year round Christmas shop her grandmother left her. Sebastian is a single dad who is not looking for a relationship and wants to keep his grandmother off his back. So these two enter into a sizzling fake dating romance, where they both get better insight into the other and their attractions fly. I love the sweet and soft way these two finally fall for each other. I love watching Sebastian show Sasha the magic of Christmas again. I love the way these two take things at their pace, learn how to communicate, and find ways to always be on the same page.

Mistletoe and Mine is the perfect Holiday romance if you love your romances to be sweet and sexy! J.R. Jenner is definitely an author worth checking out and I am so delighted to continue to watch her writing grow!

Thank you so much to J.R. Jenner for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Let me start off by telling you what I like most about this holiday romance: Everything.

Yes, I like every single thing about this plus-size, fake dating, single dad, grumpy and grumpier romance.

Sasha inherited her grandmother's holiday shop and she's doing her best to keep it afloat, but there is just one problem. She's lost her Christmas spirit. On the other hand, Sebastian loves Christmas. He may be a grump since his career ending injury, but he's determined to make the holidays special for his teen daughter and to fulfill his gran's wish to settle down and find a girlfriend. Although he and Sasha haven't exactly gotten along in the past, he thinks that a little fake dating arrangement could be beneficial to them both. Sasha will help make his gran's Christmas wish come true, and he'll help Sasha get into the Christmas spirit and keep the town from finding out that she dislikes the holiday.

One thing that I love about these plus-size characters is that it's not just our heroine who has the curves and rolls like so many of us do. Sebastian is a big guy (in all of the places that count), but after his rugby career ended, he's also added a little thick to his middle. This daddy has a dad bod and I'm all for it! I also love that this isn't just another grumpy/sunshine relationship. No, both of these characters can be grumpy at times. I know the feeling! Add in a meddling grandma and a feisty teenager, and there is not a single character in this book that I didn't just love.

This story has all of the magic of the season along with a good amount of spice. It's an easy read that is sure to put you in the holiday spirit and it's definitely a book that you'll want to add to your holiday wish list.

If you're craving a cozy, heartwarming holiday read with just the right amount of gingerbread and spice, *Mistletoe and Mine* might just be your perfect match. Think classic Hallmark movie vibes, though I’ll admit, I wasn’t *completely* sold on that at first.

Meet Sasha, the ultimate mini-Grinch (I say mini because, let’s be real, she’s got the passion for Christmas—just a little buried under some layers). She’s the owner of *Mistletoe and Mine*, a quirky shop she inherited from her grandparents, and she’s got Christmas decor *on lock*. Curvy, witty, and fully aware that she’s the best in town at decking the halls, she’s got a little more holiday spirit than she lets on.

Then there’s Sebastian. He’s the perfect match to Sasha’s surface-level grumpiness... until she walks into his mansion, ready to take on the Christmas-decorating mission set forth by his grandma. Suddenly, his "no Christmas cheer" rule starts to crumble—because who could resist Sasha? Not him. Not even close. The tension between them? Absolute *fire*.

Sasha’s got a personal holiday hang-up: she feels like she’ll never live up to the Christmas standards her grandparents set. Meanwhile, Sebastian’s holiday loathing has more to do with the fact that being in the same room as Sasha gives him a serious case of *hard-to-ignore feelings*. Let’s just say the "grinchy" banter between them is *sizzling* in more ways than one.

This novella is super cute, don’t get me wrong. But, if you're the type of reader who gravitates toward a bit more depth, you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you like a little Hallmark with a side of flirty tension and a dash of Christmas chaos—this one’s a holiday treat you won’t want to miss.

i had a great time reading this! it's cheesy and cutesy, which could easily be annoying, but this book makes it feel slightly less obnoxious than a lot of other christmas romances. i like that this book considers some of the difficulties of connecting with a holiday when you feel alone and untethered, and how upsetting it is to feel like everyone around you is enjoying something while you're still feeling down.

charlotte and edith are excellent additions, sharp and sweet and vivid. it's so easy to picture a meddling grandmother and great-granddaughter, and i also like that charlotte's character in particular is complicated by the fact that she's hitting a teen age where she doesn't want to stay home all the time and wants to go out and do things with her friends instead. it feels warm and sad but not overly dramatic, and it's nice to see both sebastian and charlotte kind of try to realize how hard this is for each other.

and sasha is such a fun character. she's struggling but she's working hard and trying to work past her own difficulties and she feels like she's letting down the town, which i know doesn't sound like a fun character, but she manages to be determined and fearful and still open to finding her own joy in the holidays even if it's hard for her this year.

as always, shorter books like this always make me want to see a little more, but where this book gets points is the fact that it doesn't feel unfinished. i feel like i know who these characters are and how they feel about each other and exactly how we got here, which is what i always look for.

This Hallmark-with-spice romance by JR Jenner pulls you in immediately, set in the picturesque Cotswolds (which I’ve visited—and yes, it’s stunning!). Slide for tropes and synopsis.

When Sebastian ropes Sasha into a fake dating arrangement to appease his meddling gran and rekindle her Christmas spirit, Sasha reluctantly agrees. Her Christmas shop, Mistletoe and Mine, inherited from her grandparents, is on the verge of closure, and she’s desperate to save it.

As fake touches and kisses blur into real feelings, Sebastian and Sasha find themselves navigating uncharted emotional territory. The heart wants what it wants, right?

Sebastian is a swoon-worthy single dad with a sassy 13-year-old daughter who adores Sasha—and it’s easy to see why. Sasha is strong yet vulnerable, balancing her shop’s challenges with the weight of her grandparents’ legacy. Meanwhile, Sebastian’s charm, Charlotte’s wit, and the town’s meddling keep her on her toes.

I loved how Sebastian falls first and hard. His feelings for Sasha are beautifully raw and romantic: “I want to unravel her as much as she’s unraveled me, make a note of everything about her until she’s a whole book stack in my mind.” Swoon!

“Mistletoe and Mine” is the perfect mix of romance, holiday cheer, wintry magic, and just enough spice to keep you hooked. Highly recommended!

I am obsessed with this book! This is the first christmas novel I have read for the season and wow!

Everything about it was perfect, Sasha and Sebastian's chemistry, amazing! They are such a lovable couple, I enjoyed reading their story. I loved the real bodies being portrayed in the novel and how it gave the message that all bodies are beautiful, I haven't read many books like that so I really appreciated it.

We got to see into both character's back stories throughout the novel and that made them feel a whole lot more real. I came to love both of them.

The family dynamics in the book were everything! Edith had me laughing out loud throughout most of the book. Charlie portrays the usual 13 year old stage we all went through in a perfect way. They added so much to the story each in their own ways.

Although the book portrays a lot of the usual Christmas movie tropes, the author gave them their own twist which made the book a whole lot more enjoyable. The whole saving the family business was portrayed in a beautiful way.

This was an extremely cozy and quick paced read. The spice was 10/10. I would 100% re-read this book. It made me go into full on Christmas mood!

“Sebastian, look.” Sasha points at the porch ceiling. “Mistletoe.” “And mine,”
This was a perfect holiday read set in an adorable British small town! Sasha is the owner of a Christmas shoppe that is Christmas all year round but this year she is starting to doubt her love of Christmas with all the stress the shoppe brings. Sebastian is the town grump but a man who loves Christmas because his daughter has always made it special. When the two strike a deal to fake date so much of what they both thought they knew changes.

“Sasha, are you telling me you own a year-round Christmas shop and you hate Christmas?”

I loved how Sebastian was dedicated to making Sasha love Christmas again. All the adorable Christmas activity dates were perfect! And although Sebastian always thought he didn’t want a commitment past his daughter Sasha quickly changes everything.

“The more time we spend together, the more I discover how much I like Sasha Smith, and it’s rare that I like anyone.”

Sebastian’s meddling family was also perfect for creating this holiday romance. I would highly recommend for all who are in need of a holiday romance read!

The sweetest and coziest holiday romance that you need to add to Christmas TBR. It was so perfectly atmospheric. I fully felt like I was in a cute little village in the Cotswolds, with all the Christmas festivities and snow and not actually in 85°+ weather in Texas. One can dream.

And who doesn't love a fake dating trope around the holidays? I eat it up every time. AND he's a single dad? Yes, please. Thank you so much.

Sebastian was a bit of a grump, but really he just loved his people and once you were part of that he was the biggest softie. The biggest, strongest, hottest rugby playing softie. Sasha was a bit of a grinch, but really she just needed to know she wasn't in this alone. She needed support and love and who better than The Wall? She was so sweet and I loved her relationship with Charlotte.

I also adored Edith and Charlie! They were so fun and exactly what Sebastian and Sasha needed.

What a perfect little place and lovely little community to be a part of. If you're looking for a low angst, cozy, and toasty 🥵 Christmas novella to kick off this holiday season, this is the perfect place to start!

This was the perfect cozy, spicy, no-angst Christmas read, in my opinion. It made me feel all the feels, the main one being happiness.

I absolutely adore JR’s writing. She really has the knack of writing such relatable characters, ones you can’t help but fall in love with, and she’s done it again with this one.

This Christmas novella is set in The Cotswolds in England, and I loved reading a book set in my country. Most are set in the US, and I love those, but there’s something about British characters and our funny ways and traditions that makes me smile.

I adore Sebastian and Sasha, the MMC and FMC. They are both plus-size people with real bodies that come with extra rolls of fat and dimpled thighs, but the attraction they felt for each other was scorching! Sebastian loved Sasha’s shape. Once he had his hands on her, he couldn’t get enough, and vice versa for her.

I love a good grumpy x sunshine, but a grumpy x grinch? Give. It. To. Me. Sasha’s attitude and sass was everything. I love FMCs who don’t fit the norm. She was magnificent.

The side characters, Edith and Charlotte, were brilliant. Edith, using her old age to get her own way, had me laughing quite a few times, and Charlotte was the perfect British teen!

I really hope JR makes this into a series, as I’d love to go back to the village of Walmsley again and get to know a few of the people who live there… Nia and Angela definitely need their own stories.

This really was a great Christmas read, and I know I’ll read it again next year, like her other Christmas novella, One Week With You, which is also a five-star read. (I highly recommend it!)

Thank you, JR, for another wonderful book ❄️ (And for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review).

What a sweet & spicy fake dating holiday romance! 🎄

📖 Mistletoe and Mine by JR Jenner
⭐️: 4.25/5
🌶️: open door, many spicy scenes

💭 overall thoughts:
I absolutely LOVED the plus size rep in this book - the way Sebastian was so obsessed with Sasha’s curves made my fat girl heart happy 🥰

I always love reading about older MCs, it’s definitely refreshing that they were both in their late 30s.

I adored the side characters - Sebastian’s grandmother Edith & his daughter Charlotte added a lot to the story!

My hesitation in rating this one higher was that I felt like the author could have leaned in to the tropes mentioned a little more - the “grinch” fmc wasn’t that grinchy, and the fake dating really just felt like normal dating 🙃

read if you love:
🎄 grinch fmc who owns a Christmas shop
💙 grumpy single dad
🥸 fake dating
✚ plus size rep
💫 older MCs (36 + 39)
🌳 small town
💞 dual 1st person pov

Thank you to author JR Jenner for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Mistletoe & Mine is the perfect combination of sweet, no angst and holiday feels. Followed up beautifully by the meddling and comic relief of Gran (Edith) and Charlotte.
Probably the most realistic descriptions given of our MC’s being plus size. Sebastian’s description of Sasha’s body, thick curvy, wide hips, thick thighs, plump derrière turned him on to the point of madness.
Sebastian/grump and Sasha/grinch don’t take long to see past their alter egos and make their feelings known, then it is hot and steamy from that point on.
The directness with which he addresses his feelings is so refreshing and she gives it right back (with a little fumbling).
All around, a perfect holiday read and my first by JR Jenner.
*Bonus*
The back story of Mistletoe and Mine was so beautiful and where holiday magic comes from.

✨Mistletoe & Mine ARC Review✨

Thank you JR Jenner for the ARC!

If you need a book to put you in the Christmas mood, this book is it!
Sasha is a bit of a grump about Christmas even though she owns a Christmas shop that was passed down to her from her grandmother. Sebastian is a bit of a grump in life. Something Sasha holds against him because of an encounter they had before. Except now Sebastian needs Sasha to pretend to date him to get his grandmother off his back, and he promises to get her back into the Christmas spirit.
This book was such a cute holiday romance filled with fake dating, a plus size fmc, and a meddling grandmother, that you can’t help but root for the couple. Sebastian is also a single dad to a tween daughter that just had me reminiscing being that age. Such a cute Christmas romance book, perfect to get into the holiday mood!

This novella has the Christmas Hallmark movie vibes down to a T. Plus there’s just the right amount of meddling grandmother. It’s a wonderful holiday read. It will leave you feeling warm & fuzzy and ready to spread some Christmas spirit of your own.

I don’t normally start my Christmas reading this early and I’ve been in a bit of a grumpy mood. So overall, I was feeling a little grinchy going into this read. But by the end I’m already a little excited for Christmas.

The Christmas magic is real!

The banter between Sebastian and Sasha is cute. I love how there’s a touch of fun “blackmail” that leads to fake dating. The slow burn between them feels perfect for the timeline and how their feelings change.

🥹 And the small town/community involvement is heartwarming.

Give yourself an early Christmas present and read this novella!

[ARC Review]

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Mistletoe and Mine by J.R. Jenner was such a fun and heartwarming Christmas read! I’m a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers romance, and this one delivered, with the added bonus of a plus-size heroine- which is always a plus in my books. Sasha is doing her best to keep her grandma’s Christmas store afloat, but between financial stress and losing her holiday spark, she’s barely holding it together. And there is Sebastian, the grumpy single dad in town, who convinces her to fake date him to keep his grandmother happy. 🤭 Their dynamic was so entertaining—grumpy/sunshine vibes, great banter, and some really sweet moments that had me smiling the whole time.

This book has the perfect mix of festive feels, a little drama, and just enough spice to keep it HOT 🔥. Huge thanks to J.R. Jenner for sending me this ARC—I had such a great time reading it!

I would firstly just like to say a big thank you to the author who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of her book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review…

Oh wow, this book did not disappoint, it was absolutely wonderful and i thoroughly enjoyed everything about it.

It not only contains one of my most favourite tropes - fake dating - but it is also my most favourite genre too - Christmas romance!

This book not only pulled me in right from the very beginning but it kept me engrossed and i very quickly turned every page until i had devoured it all!

I absolutely loved Sasha, she was just lovely and wonderful and oh, Sebastian, he was just so perfect and extremely swoonworthy too!

This was a lovely christmas read that definitely put me in the festive spirit and left me feeling all warm and cosy…..

Sasha has found herself loathing, not loving Christmas these days, so when her nemesis Sebastian suffers fake dating she wonders if she hit her head hanging the mistletoe.

Running her grandmother’s Christmas shop is more than Sasha realizes. And with her business a pint looking more red, than black, she’s not sure how long she can stay open.

Sebastian’s mother just wants him to find someone special. When he realizes she’s not giving up, he devises a plan by asking Sasha to fake date him. Little does she know that Sebastian has a huge crush on the curvy Sasha.

As fake dating becomes real, Sasha lets Sebastian and his family reach her to love Christmas again. And when the town shows Sasha how important she is, she realizes Christmas and the shop are so much more.

This is by far, the cutest book I have read this year! I’m not usually one to pickup holiday themed books this time of year, they just don’t usually do much for me. But something was telling me to try this one and I am so glad I did. I flew through this story and did not want it to end! This was one of those stories that has you giggling, and blushing and kicking your feet, it was so darn cute!

Sasha and Sebastian had amazing chemistry, something that is hard to pull off in such a short story, but they were truly meant for each other. The storyline was realistic, the idea that holidays aren’t always as joyous as we expect them to be, but if you have someone to push you along you can find magic in the everyday moments.

There was witty banter, sweet blushing moments, delicious spice, and a small town you just don’t want to leave. I would have gladly read 100 more pages of Sasha and Sebastian, and will definitely be checking out more by this author!
