There's a place in Maple Grove that makes all the town folk hum.
If you follow your nose down Cinnamon Lane, you'll find The Cozy Crumb.
Standing behind the counter, her sunshine can be felt.
And when he’s in her presence, even the grump starts to melt.
Looking for some breakfast, he walked right through the door.
And as he met her eyes with his, it left him wanting more.
More of the sweet sugar kisses and more of the sunshine smile.
But when the time comes, will he stay… or only be in town for a while?
Cinnamon Lane is the first book in the standalone series of novellas, Seasons of Love. It includes tropes such as grumpy/sunshine and single dad. It has all of the cute autumn small-town feels. It is under 22k words. It does contain open-door spice and is intended for readers 18+.
Bennett lives in a small town with her husband and their two rowdy boys. She still can’t decide if she’s a cat person or a dog person, so she’s declared herself both and moved on. When she’s not writing swoony, heartfelt small-town love stories, she’s probably reading one—iced tea in hand, laundry untouched, and her TBR pile threatening to topple. She loves family game nights, comfy clothes, and quiet moments at home—perfect inspiration for her stories about love, family, and finding your place in the world.

✨️This was such a wonderful, short, sweet, and a little spicy read. Luke and his daughter Gracie are new to this small town. I instantly fell for them! 😍 Luke comes into Piper's bakery, and you can tell that sparks are gonna fly between these two. Luke's daughter Gracie was the star of the story for me. I loved the connection and bond that she and Piper form. The epilogue was the icing on the cake 🫶. This gave all the cozy vibes of Hallmark but add some spice. I definitely recommend that you give this a read, whether you're in a slump and need a quick read to get you out, or you just need something that gives all the good vibes.
Thank you to Bennett Rhodes for allowing me to read and review your ARC! I truly enjoyed it!

With cute small town, hallmark vibes, Cinnamon Lane was absolute top tier enjoyment for me. I’m obsessed with seasonal reads and this literally hit the nail on the head.
I absolutely adored the relationship between Luke and Piper! Even the banter between the two starting from the very first chapter had me kicking my feet! The way Piper took in Gracie as if she was her own from the very first meet had my heart melting.
I LOVED this and I would very highly recommend to all my book besties who are looking for a cutsey, autumn, seasonal read, but enjoy short novellas! It would be perfect as a palate cleanser in between genres!
Thank you SO much to the author Bennett Rhodes for the ARC of this book. 🫶🏻

This is the PERFECT Fall novella! It’s sweet and a little spicy even🤭 this was such an easy read and put me in such a good mood!!! - Luke is new in town for work and he finds himself drawn to this little bakery that smells divine and feels like sunshine. Piper is the owner of the town’s bakery. She loves nothing more than to make items that her customers will love. She has a kind soul and a smile that lights up a room☀️ With his job finishing up and his time in town coming to an end… he can’t imagine a life without that sunshine smile. But that wasn’t the original plan….. Will something convince him to stay?🤫 - I seriously loved this little read. The banter between everyone was so fun to read. Also let’s not forget Luke is a single dad!! His little girl was the perfect addition to this story. She was too precious! This read I s the perfect definition of cozy!!! It felt like I was curled up in front of a fire smelling a pie in the oven! UGH so good!!!
This was such a cute novella! It is a small town, grumpy/sunshine, single dad, strangers to lovers story with Hallmark and Fall vibes.
Since it is a novella (right under 100 pages)- it moves pretty quickly and you fly through it. I absolutely adored the characters- so much so that I wished it was a full story and I had more pages to read of them!
I loved that it was dual POV and adored the setting of Maple Grove. All the names in this book were so adorable- Maple Grove, Cinnamon Lane, The Cozy Crumb, The Sugar Spoon. It all gave me such cozy and warm vibes and just made me want to snuggle up with a blanket and warm hot cocoa.
Recommend checking out this quick and fun read!🧡
Thank you @author.bennett.rhodes for this #gifted e-ARC!🫶🏼
Oh my this book is so freaking sweet. I think I have a toothache.
My first Bennett Rhodes and definitely not my last. It was cozy, the vibes were like a comfy sweater and a hug with a crackling fire and warm cinnamon apple cider. This is definitely going to make it onto my fall reads rotation! 😍
Cinnamon Lane is a delightful, heartwarming novella that perfectly captures the charm of small-town romance. The story revolves around The Cozy Crumb bakery, where sweet moments and tender connections bloom between Piper, a sunshiney baker, and Luke, a grumpy, but endearing, single dad. With cozy autumn vibes, a dash of humor, and just the right amount of heat, this novella delivers a satisfying mix of lighthearted romance and emotional depth. At right under 100 pages, it’s a quick read that leaves you smiling and wanting some cinnamon swirl bread. 🧡

This is my second ARC for Bennett Rhodes and I was so so excited! I devoured this novella in an hour.
Luke is the new guy in town and single dad to little Gracie, who is such a cutie. He is only in Maple Grove temporarily for work but when he meets Piper a curveball gets thrown his way.
Piper is the owner of The Cozy Crumb bakery and her gluten free goodies are to die for, which is perfect for Luke as Gracie cannot eat gluten. Piper is immediately drawn to Luke and bonds with Gracie. But as Luke’s contract comes to an end will Piper have her heart broken?
The instant chemistry and flanter between Piper and Luke made me 🥰 Gracie is such a little cutie and I loved the food allergy rep. The dynamics between the three of them was perfectly written and had my cheeks hurting from smiling so much.
I never knew I needed to read about a muscly grumpy single dad making wreaths, but I giggled at that! Balance it out with him standing in the cold just to buy his daughter jam, warming up milk just so you can sleep, and not to mention the heart melting nickname…swoon!
The epilogue from Gracie’s POV, my heart 🥹
I knew this was going to be good, but I was not prepared for just how good! I would LOVE a one way ticket to Maple Grove.
This is the perfect warm, fuzzy novella guaranteed to boost your mood. So grab a hot drink and a seriously sweet treat and dive in. I cannot wait for book 2 🫶🏼
(Also, the mention of sunflowers in the bakery…very good tie in to Oklahoma Sky)
🥧 Smalltown Romance 🥧 Spicy Hallmark Novella 🥧 Grumpy x Sunshine 🥧 Strangers to Lovers or He Falls First 🥧 Single Dad 🥧 Dual POV
If you’re looking for a cozy escape, Cinnamon Lane is the perfect book to curl up with this fall. Imagine yourself in the charming town of Maple Grove, where small-town warmth meets the rich scent of cinnamon and sweet treats. From the moment I started reading, I was completely immersed in the picturesque setting—the kind of place you want to visit in real life. Whether it’s grabbing a pastry from The Cozy Crumb or sipping coffee at The Sugar Spoon, the town itself is like a character in the story, brimming with charm.
Luke and Piper’s love story was a highlight, and their connection had me rooting for them from the start. Luke, the ever-sweet single dad, and Piper, with her radiant warmth, made for the perfect sunshine-and-grump dynamic. Piper’s bond with Luke’s daughter, Gracie, was heartwarming, and watching their relationships grow felt like a hug in book form. Gracie, totally stole the show. Her sassy, spirited personality added so much to the story. She brought so much life and humor into every scene she was in, making the whole dynamic feel even more authentic.
This novella is a quick read, but it’s packed with all the cozy fall vibes you could want—perfect for an evening wrapped up in a blanket with a hot drink. With its adorable setting, lovable characters, and just the right amount of romance, Cinnamon Lane hits all the right notes. The dual POV added depth to the story, making me wish it were longer because I just didn’t want to leave Maple Grove. Highly recommend for anyone in need of a quick, delightful escape!

When I say I could smell the cinnamon coming from this book, I was literally smelling cinnamon the entire time, and I loved every second of it.
This book was a perfect November, fall time read. The perfect book to read snuggled up with your favorite cozy blanket.
Luke comes into Maple Grove for a construction job bringing his daughter along with him for the journey. He quickly becomes acquainted with Piper, the baker on Cinnamon Lane he never saw coming.
Piper is the favorite baker of the town, especially with her Jams. She wasn’t expecting Luke to come crashing into her life, but little did she know how much he and his little girl would end up meaning to her.
This book oozed coziness, and who can forget about the spice we all love. Every character was so fun, from Hank to Peyton, each character in this story made me laugh at some point.
Of course we can’t forget about Mr.S.
And of course we can’t forget about Luke’s hilarious daughter Gracie. With her swear jar, her smirks, she’s one of my favorite parts about this book.
This was such a fun, easy read that had me laughing just about every page.
This cozy small town story is the perfect seasonal read that you'll breeze through! I absolutely adored the main characters. The chemistry between Luke and Piper was simply delightful, their playful banter from the very first chapter kept me grinning and filled with giddiness; I found myself wishing for a longer story to dive deeper into their world!
All the yummy elements from The Cozy Crumb Bakery really inspire you to get into the kitchen and start baking! I would have absolutely LOVED seeing some recipes for the delicious treats mentioned. 🧁
I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a sweet, autumn-themed "Hallmark" style read, especially if you enjoy short novellas!

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Bennett Rhodes's newest novella, Cinnamon Lane (book one in the standalone series Seasons of Love). It follows the story of Piper and Luke.
Cinnamon Lane is the perfect fall read!
I loved Piper and Luke's story. It was such a cute, easy read.
I adored Piper. She is just the sweetest person ever! The way she was with Gracie was everything.
Luke was the perfect grumpy to Piper's sunshine. He is a great dad to Gracie. Seeing him fall for Piper and his nickname for her warmed my heart.
Gracie was sweet and sassy, and her point of view in the epilogue was cute.
Maple Grove sounded like such a beautiful place. I could easily picture myself going to The Cozy Crumb to buy some baked goods and jam then walking over to The Sugar Spoon for a coffee.
I cannot wait to read what Bennett comes out with next!
Thank you so much to Bennett Rhodes for this ARC 🧡
Luke was the grumpy single dad new to the small town of Maple Grove. He kept to himself as he wasn’t staying in town for long so why make friends when they would be leaving soon. That all changes when a woman that smells of sugar and cinnamon runs into him at the coffee shop.
Piper was such a sweetheart. I adored her. Yes this is a short novella but I still loved her so much. Her banter with not only Luke but with her best friend Peyton that just so happens to own the coffee shop across the street from Piper’s bakery that she runs into Luke at.
Then the sweet moments with Gracie just melted my heart. And that epilogue was just perfect with Gracie!
This was a fast paced, minimal spice but very loving book! I highly recommend it if you are in the mood for a quick read! . . . 5️⃣🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶️ 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 10/10 recommendation‼️

This book is really adorable, there is no better way to describe it🥹

The story is short, delightful, and heartwarming. Its fast pacing didn’t take away from its beauty at all.
It begins with Luke — grumpy and rude during their first meeting — who ends up falling for Piper because of her care and innocence. I honestly loved that so much 🧡🍂
Piper’s point of view was absolutely appetizing! I really, really, really, really want a cinnamon roll drizzled with white sugar glaze and a cup of black coffee now… Piper, in short, is sweet, considerate, and overflowing with warmth and affection 🩷🌸
And Gracie — the mastermind behind the “I’ll marry off my dad” plan — was pure cupcake energy. I loved how she paid attention to every word her dad said just so she could take his money 🤍🧁
This was such a sweet quick romance. I enjoyed it so much. Luke and Lucy were just cute together. And can't forget Gracie, Luke's daughter. She was the sweetest. That little epilogue was just adorable. This was a insta attraction, but the build up was paced well, especially considering it's a short story. I really liked that. When things start changing between them though, it heats up pretty quickly. From Lucy teaching Gracie how to makes wreaths and baking. Than the first date between Luke and Lucy...loved loved loved. Just the perfect little fall read that gives you all the hallmark feels w/a touch of spice.
Oh. My. Gosh. This novella is absolute perfection. I adored Luke, Piper and Gracie! There is instant chemistry between Luke and Piper, and it just warms my heart. Then you add sweet Gracie into the mix who just wants to see her dad happy, and you have this sweet, perfect fall vibes story.
Luke will do anything for the ladies in his life; whether it’s standing outside in the cold for jam or warming up milk to help them sleep, he is the best single dad and future boyfriend.

Thank you so much for allowing me to have an arc of this novella. Absolutely loved it!
The cutest and coziest novella! One of my favorites of the year, easily. 100% recommend if you’re in the mood for steamy fall season Hallmark vibes. There were so many times I laughed at the little bits of comedy, smiled at how freaking sweet the MMC was, and even teared up a little bit getting to know the FMC and how much she cared about her customers and especially Gracie (MMCs daughter). Definitely 5/5 stars for me!
She has done it again, absolutely in love with this 2. This book was short and sweet and right to the point. Love it so much. Luke was such a sweetheart and did all the right things. Piper was literally the sweetest human alive. I absolutely love the story and characters, and I wish I had more (I need more of this 2).
A super quick and super sweet read with all the Autumn feels.
I sometimes find that shorter books are a little forced to get the story told quicker which leads to unbelievable storylines but this set up a cute story well and the romance was swoony.
A perfect palate cleanser between heavier reads.
*Thanks for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion*
- written at approximately a fourth grade reading level - i’ve read instagram captions that had more character development - author has never met a human child because 9 year olds Don’t Talk Like That - insta love trope never fails to baffle me
Pros:
- cute cover - briefly distracted me from studying for my exam
