A small town, surprise pregnancy, hockey romance from bestselling author Stacy Travis
You know what they say—when things start to come together, life throws you a curveball.
Well, in this case...a hockey puck.
Ten years ago, we were college sweethearts. Until Dominick (Ren) Renaldi decided the grass was greener playing pro hockey in Canada.
I moved on—made my mark as a designer. I run two restaurants and an inn at our family winery, Buttercup Hill.
Nothing is missing. Nothing at all.
Then Ren struts into my small town, a reminder of a broken heart I locked in the past.
Okay, yes, this responsible, type A girl could really use a wild night of scorchin' hot fun, and Ren, with his penetrating eyes and easy charm, is all too happy to deliver—grownup style.
Imagine my surprise when I see a little pink plus sign a few weeks later.
I'm not looking for love, especially with a guy who's walked away once. And Ren's serious about his career, so he willwalk away. Besides, I'm not the kind of woman who traps a man with a surprise baby.
But when our shared history and a certain little growing bean brings us close again, I discover the real reason Ren left—and why he's back.
I find myself starting to like my baby daddy and the man he became.
Stacy Travis writes charming, spicy romance about bookish, sassy women and the hot alphas who fall for them.
Writing makes her infinitely happy, but that might be the coffee talking. She drinks a LOT of it.
She's worked as a journalist, camp counselor, TV writer, SAT tutor, corporate finance researcher, education technology editor, and non-fiction author. When she's not on a deadline, she's in running shoes complaining that all roads seem to go uphill. Or on the couch with a margarita. Or fangirling at a soccer game.
She's never met a dog she didn't want to hug. And if you have no plans for Thanksgiving, she'll probably invite you to dinner.
Stacy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two sons, and a poorly-trained rescue dog who hoards socks. And she's serious about the Thanksgiving thing.
I was really excited for this book since my trope weakness is accidental pregnancy. I found it to be an easy read but I also found it lacking. I wish the pregnancy was included in greater detail. We really only got the cravings and not being able to shave her legs at 4 months (which seems a bit early considering most baby bump aren’t that big at that point of pregnancy). There was nothing about the anatomy scan, the nursery, buying anything for the baby, no baby names thrown out. For an accidental pregnancy, I kind of just expected more. There wasn’t much character growth which left them feeling bland.
Overall, it was a nice read but left me feeling meh about it.

This series is so cute and exactly the type of book when I was a light and easy escapist read. I adore the vineyard setting and I’m always fascinated by the inner workings of such a huge operation. This has small town, accidental pregnancy, hockey and a second chance which was such a great combination. I really liked Trix but it took some time for me to warm up to Ren, he really did her dirty in the past but he won me over in the end. Such a fun addition to the series and the last chapter made me desperate for the next book!
this was fun!! i think i should’ve started this series from the beginning because it gave me the edens and chestnuts springs vibes and i loved that! i might read the other one day
Love You Too is the 4th book in the Buttercup Hill series, but I think it can definitely be read as a standalone. I love the small town and winery vibes of this series, but that may be because I am a wine girlie.
Beatrix is a strong and hardworking woman who has been extremely focused on her career at her family winery and resort. However, her life gets shaken up when she runs into her college sweetheart, Dominick “Ren” Renaldi. Ren broke Beatriz’s heart when he chose hockey over her when he went to the NHL, even though she was willing to leave school to be with him. His dog literally runs into her, and Ren takes her back to his place to show her the house he bought to remodel in her small town. The connection between them is still strong, and they end up having a one-night stand. Beatrix just wants it to be a one and done, but she offers to take care of his dog while he is traveling for hockey, and they start to text a lot.
Beatrix is still afraid to trust or try anything with him, but her life changes when she realizes she is pregnant. I loved how quickly she told Ren and how there was no miscommunication or drama around the baby. Ren really wanted to be with Beatrix, but he had to figure out the right balance since he always felt he needed 100% focus on hockey.
I really loved how sweet and swoony Ren could be and how he stepped up for Beatrix, especially when it’s revealed how long he wanted her back. One of my favorite scenes was when he shaved her since her belly was getting too big. I love caretaking scenes.
🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
I was so happy I was able to listen to this audiobook and discover some new narrators. Hannah Chiclana and Wesley Mercer did an amazing job with this sweet second chance romance. They brought the characters to life and could feel the chemistry and connection of the characters.
just a short little romance to get me out of the impending slump i was about to face after reading fantasy nonstop. honestly not a bad book, didn't have strong feelings about it.
one thing i didn't like was the fact that ren proposed and married her at her sisters wedding. we didn't really get anything else besides just miscommunication which i haaaate. not a fan of the pregnancy trope but i already knew about it coming into the book so it didn't piss me off at much as it normally would.
Bro literally broke up with her when they were in college then comes back 10 years later with the excuse that he thought their relationship would distract him from his hockey career 😐
Love You Too is a quick paced, sweet and sexy, second chance, accidental pregnancy, hockey romance! Stacy Travis's fourth installment in the Buttercup Hill series is full of charm, siblings, and easy and comforting small town read. Travis's writing is clear, well paced and is a delightful and soft escape from every day life. The Buttercup Hill series is a wonderful small town family escape and each installment can easily be read as a standalone. This series and author would be perfect for people who love a low angst romance that has a really lovely support layer of family and friends.
Ren and Trix were in love when they were college students but Ren's hockey career took priority and it has been ten years since they last saw each other in person. So when a sexually frustrated Trix falls into bed with Ren, they did not expect a baby to be the result. Travis starts this novel hitting the ground run, showing the reader that Trix is a driven and hard working woman who has been career focused. We then are given glimpses of who Trix and Ren were together and how "hate" is not really the core of what they feel for the other. This novel was an easy read of falling in love with two people who are meant to be together, rediscovering each other, and learning to reshape what they want their top priorities to be. Ren and Trix also have a sizzling chemistry which Travis beautifully explores in their intimate moments. I also love that Travis shows their closeness through soft touches and smiles while they learning to build trust with each other.
Definitely pick up this novel and series if a sibling centered, small town romance series is what you are seeking. This novel was easy to fall into and was a really lovely story of two people rediscovering each other and fighting for a future together!
Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
“When it comes to dreaming about the one who got away, I feel certain I have a ten-year head start.”

This is a sweetly romantic second-chance sports romance with a surprise baby and a whole lot of swoon. It’s the fourth book in the Buttercup Hill series, but it can be read as a standalone, and I really enjoyed this read.
Beatrix is one of the Corbett siblings who feature in this series. She is flat out managing the renovation to her family’s vineyard, and while she’s a workaholic control freak at the best of times, she’s feeling overwhelmed by all of the competing priorities on her plate. When her assistant pushes her out of the office for a break, she’s walking around her small country town when she literally runs into a blast for her past – Dominick Renaldi, hockey star, ex-college sweetheart, and love of her life. They share a scorching night together, and Trix walks away the next morning thinking that’s it. Until she discovers she’s pregnant.
Ren was thrilled to run into the women he’s never been able to get over. He handled their relationship breakup badly when he was drafted to Canada, and though he still struggles with the concept of juggling his hockey career and all of the constant travel with a relationship, now that Trix is back in his life and carrying his baby, he wants to hold on to her.
“For ten years, my heart’s ached for you, and there’s no way in hell I’m walking away again.”
I enjoyed this book and watching the love story play out. There’s no doubting that Ren and Trix are in it together, but when it comes to figuring out what their relationship actually means, that’s where things get a bit tricky. They have their differences, and balancing their busy lives with a family is definitely a challenge, but I liked seeing them embrace all that they’re feeling for each other and figure it out together.
“You’re mine, Trix. You’ve always been mine.”
The rest of the family are there supporting them both, and I enjoyed being back in this world. There’s a great lead-in to Archer’s story up next, and I’m looking forward to that one.
This is a sweet read that left me with a smile on my face.
3.5 stars.
An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author for an honest review.
This was a quick read that kept me hooked. The way these characters were written I loved their relationship and the chemistry! These two were perfect for each other and I’m still in my hockey era it seems! SWOON WORTHY
💭It's good to be back to Buttercup Hill! This time, we follow Trix as she reconnects with her old flame, Ren. After he broke her heart years ago, Trix didn't just sit around feeling sorry for herself. Instead, she threw herself into her career and became super successful, though maybe a tad too much of a workaholic. I really love that our FMC didn't let heartbreak keep her down and kept pushing forward.
Now, Ren was a bit hard for me to warm up to at first. I mean, he chose his hockey career over Trix, which was pretty rough. But hey, he was young and chasing his dreams, so I kinda get it. Thankfully, he totally redeems himself when he finds out about the oopsie baby. He knows he's got a lot of making up to do to earn back Trix's trust, and he doesn't shy away from it.
✅This is one of the better accidental pregnancy books I've read recently. Ren is ready to step up immediately, and he grovels his way to earn Trix’s forgiveness. The only tiny thing that bugged me was that Ren wasn't always the best at communicating, and that frustrates me. But he totally made up for it with that grand gesture at the end, it was so sweet, and I absolutely loved it!
🎧𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄🎧 Hannah and Wesley totally nailed it again! loved how they brought the characters to life just like in the previous book. If you enjoyed their last performance, you'll love this one even more!
I'm still in my hockey era, so I read a lot of hockey romance, but this story brings the sport together with a small town and an accidental pregnancy, and I loved it all.
Ten years ago, Ren broke Trix's heart when he chose his hockey career over her. That's OK though, because Trix moved on and has become a career woman all on her own. Now, her Type A personality helps her to plan, organize and multi-task like no one's business. So, when Ren shows back up, she's not about to let him get her off track. Well, maybe one night won't hurt anything...but then, Trix sees a little plus sign that is going to throw her well planned life for a loop.
I really enjoyed this story and I loved these characters. There is definitely the small town feel here, but there is a nice mix of hockey thrown in too. Accidental pregnancy isn't one of my favorite tropes, but it really works in this story, and I honestly wasn't sure how this story was going to end until nearly the last couple of chapters. Ren kept me guessing and it was refreshing to read a story that I couldn't predict half way through.
Although this is the fourth book in this series, it can totally be read as a standalone. I personally need to catch up on some of the earlier books and I'll be adding them to my TBR.
Uber capable and hardworking designer Beatrix has her plate full managing the demands of rebranding the family winery, restaurants, and guest rooms into a profitable and sought after destination. The last thing Beatrix wants is to come face to snout with the adorable but undisciplined pup belonging to the man who broke her heart ten years ago when he chose to cut her out of his life rather than try to make a relationship between her and a newly drafted NHL player. She didn’t want to be attracted to him still, but the temptation he poses was too great. Add in a dog as a wingman, and Beatrix had no chance.
Ren knew eventually he’d run into the woman he’d never been able to forget, but he didn’t know just how much of a gut punch it’d be to do so. Taken with this very grown up version of his first love, he jumps at the chance to consult with Beatrix on how best to renovate the house and casita he purchased near her family’s properties.
As they tour the wreck with great bones, it becomes clear they have an itch to scratch, so they act on it, Beatrix claiming it’s a one off and won’t happen again. A determined Ren decides his mission during renovations is to get Beatrix back even if he has to fight dirty. Of course fate has to throw in its lot as well.
This was a sexy, fun, and enjoyable read from always on point Stacy Travis. It’s part of a series but can stand alone, no cliffhanger for this couple.
I was lucky to have been furnished an advance reader copy from Valentine PR and bookfunnel, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
I am in love with Buttercup Hills. The family, the way they are there for each other, is just beautiful. Love You Too is the perfect combination of small town, hockey, unexpected pregnancy and second chance.
Beatrix (Trix) has made her mark in the business world. She is a designer, runs the inn and two restaurants for her family’s business. So when the reminder of her broken heart walks back into town, she doesn’t need him but a night of fun never hurt anyone. The same man she was willing to run away with ten years previously.
Ren had the most amazing woman in the world and he walked away from her, as he wasn’t able to find a balance between his love for hockey and his love for Trix. He left without a word and now he is back, hoping for another chance.
The dynamic between these two was so heartbreaking at times. Trix had so many trust issues to get past when it came to Ren. And while Ren never stopped loving her, he had a lot to prove. There a some bumps in the road but there is more at stake this time around, as they find their way back to each other.
I think this ended up being my favourite of all the Buttercup Hill stories. I struggle with slow burns so the first three were hard for me. I think having the backstory of Ren and Trix already having their college relationship to fall back into. For the most part they made a pretty cute couple and an even better pairing when they got out of their own damn way.
I enjoyed being given more of a glimpse into the family this time around. There were a lot of sweet moments between siblings and only has me more excited to read the next one!
The mystery of the wineries and their dad is killing me. It’s like a slow burn mystery and we only get more questions with each book. It’s certainly an excellent way to keep your readers hooked while also making us mildly crazy 😂
All in all this was an easy and enjoyable read. The series is fairly low angst and the family vibes and close-knit community makes for a fun fictional world to dive into!
This is the fourth book in this impressive series, and this is Dominick / Ren and Beatrix /Trix’s journey. Ren and Trix were college sweethearts, until he broke her heart and left to pursue his dream of playing pro hockey. Now 10-years later, Trix has move on and she is a workaholic, with a flourishing career. When her assistant pushes her to take a break, Trix decides to take a walk, and crosses paths with Ren, and they share a hot night together. This is a well written easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, heartbreak, challenges, undeniable chemistry, second chances, witty banter, accidental pregnancy, and love, which leads to an entertaining and compelling small town hockey romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I picked this up because I love a hockey romance. This is a second chance romance between two people who knew each other when...she is trying to keep together a family wine legacy and expand the business by opening a B&B. He has bought a crumbling estate close to where they're from, where she happens to live. Could it be that he returned for her?
That wouldn't even make any sense considering that he's a famous hockey player with no ostensible need to look backward. Yet, when he returns, it's clear that the feelings between them are real. So real that they have a one-night stand, which leads to a surprise pregnancy, which leads to another possible future for them. That is, supposing that it's real, and not just the shadow of a dusty dream...
I was excited to read this book after reading the blurb, and it also had some of my favorite tropes. This is the first book I read in the series, and I am definitely going to read from the start. It was everything I expected and more. What I wasn't expecting was to fall in love with the Corbett siblings. Trix and Ren are meant to be no matter how long it took them to find each other again. I could not help but fall in love with Ren and Trix as they rediscovered each other and their relationship. I was swooning over Ren throughout the read, and Trix was absolutely fabulous. It was easy for me to connect to them both, which made it easier to understand their fears and pain. I was happy they finally found a way to let go of the past. The last chapter has left me excited for Archer's book. Overall, it's a fun read filled with emotions. Thanks to Stacy and Valentine's promotion for the advanced copy of this amazing read.
The sports romance vibe AND the small town romance vibe mix was perfection in Love You Too! Accidental pregnancy trope added good drama to the mix; and Trix & Ren’s banter with each other had me giggling out loud.
There wasn’t a lot of major points in the book based around her pregnancy, which was lacking for an accidental pregnancy trope IMO. There was also a small lack of character building for Trix & Ren, which made it a tad harder to connect with them individually- & not just their situation.
Love You Too is available on 10/15, and included in KU. It is the fourth book in a series, but can be read as a standalone.
Thank you to Valentine PR & Stacy Travis for the ARC opportunity!
Love You Too by Stacey Travis is the fourth book in her Buttercup Hill series and its one that has all my favorite tropes in one and can definitely be read as a standalone but who would want that!
Small Town - check Hockey - check accidental pregnancy - check!
Beatrix "Trix" and Dominick "Ren" have had a dicy past. But when they suddenly meet they cant stop whats coming!
Thank you to the author for the chance to read and listen to this one early. Love You Too is a fast paced, second chance romance with an accidental baby and a a super cute dog! Hard to dislike anything about that. The characters are well written and I liked the narrators a lot! It is dual narration which isn’t my favorite but is typically the standard. The spicy scenes are great, the deeper emotional moments really got to me, I loved seeing Trix with her siblings and sister in laws as they all helped her find her way through this very new situation for her. The few things I did feel I was missing was more of Ren with his friends maybe, and also more of the mystery/suspense storyline that runs through the whole series. We got a little bit at the beginning and then it’s brought up again at the end, but in between it feels like months went by and no one was concerned. Either way, I enjoyed the book a lot and I’m excited to read the next one, I’m hoping it’s about Trix’s brother!
Second chance romance with the hockey star. Trix is shocked to run into her ex who broke her heart when he chose hockey over her. Thinking she could have one night with him and walk way and leaving him wanting more would be the best revenge. The condom they used though, it was several years old...
I listened to this one and loved the new to me narrators Hannah Chiclana and Wesley Mercer. They brought the chemistry and banter to life.
When Trix's (Beatrix) college sweetheart dumped her without warning and cut off all communication, she didn't let it get her down. She's now a busy, successful woman but might need a night of fun. Enter that same ex that broke her heart. Surely she can have a ons, get Ren out of her system, then move on? Or not...
Trix doesn't know it, but Ren has never gotten over her. He was just young, stupid, and thought he was doing what was best for her when he broke up with her and left without further communication. She also doesn't know that he's here with one goal in mind - get her back. Thank God his dog helps him out and now he's got her in his sights, not to let go. If it's the last thing he does, he'll have his second chance with the only woman he's ever loved.
I love the accidental/surprise pregnancy trope, especially when, like Trix and Ren, they're able to communicate like mature adults, and figure co-parenting out even before they take that final step and declare their love. Trix is a strong, smart heroine, with a big heart, one who had admirably moved on from her first love, only for him to storm back into her life with the intent of never leaving. Ren in turn, is so sweet and swoony, I was rooting for him to get that second chance he wanted, even when she was resisting him. This series has been so entertaining, has so much heart and adorable couples, and I think this one is my favorite yet.
